I KNOW MY REVIEW IS TO FREEKING LONG / A MAKE NO APOLOGIES FOR THAT ! I discovered Eduardo (the co-owner) at Echos Hair Design in July, He gave me the best hair cut I'd ever had. I went from all one length, past the shoulder long hair to a 'Louise Brooks' bob look that ended at the jaw line. (It was right before a trip to Paris, and I felt like a star in the French city!) I'd never experienced such an eye for detail before while having my hair cut. Painstakingly, he measured, trimmed, evaluated and trimmed to even things up as needed. I walked out feeling like a million dollars! If you aren't happy with your hair, he isn't happy either and will take the time to make it right so that you will love it at the end (Heck, even if you don't realize there's something to be unhappy with, he will take the time to fix it!) His initial consultations are also a treat he is not rushed . He listens to what I'm saying and states it back to me to avoid any confusion and he's able to see my personal hair patterns and he can determine the best places to trim it. He looks at the whole picture, not just the hair and consistently gives a cut that looks terrific with my face shape. I have never seen anybody get out of any seat in that salon and not have a great look. If you're interested in edgy, quirky, and fun, this is your place! And if you just want a simple trim for your locks, he does that exquisitely as well!, In the past I have experience trims from HELL, so even when I get a trim I can close my eyes and relax and know that Eduardo is not going to cut inches of my head. He recommend coloring my hair, I mentioned I have no interest in color he has never brought it up again! And I love booking my appointments online . Price wise Eduardo is less expensive than my boy in New York but I will not mention that to him unless of course he reads my review , the value of the work done at Echos Hair Design has made a return customer out of me! If you are in need of a makeover, or just a plain old trim, go and visit Eduardo at Echos Hair Design. I have pretty high standards, I am quite observant and picky with how people handle my hair and me as a person! I prefer people who are caring and considerate and love what they do. Well, Eduardo is EXACTLY that!! When you walk in, the friendly, professional staff will greet you and make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. The salon is very hip, clean and filled with good vibes! It was so refreshing to find a hair stylist that is so down to earth and expresses their creativity so freely and for the benefit of the client. It doesn't hurt he is just downright genius with hair!! He makes sure you walk out of there happy and looking amazing. I am not kidding, people. I felt like a supermodel walking down the street...I rarely write reviews, but he is a true master. He cut my extremely long, damaged hair, and made sure he didn't cut too much (as I was clinging to my long locks with a death grip!) and he colored it using the latest fashionable colors I was amazed at the results! He also gave me the most unique highlights I've ever had, that complement my hair color perfectly! Everyone I've seen after that has given me the most insane compliments. I've been going to Eduardo at Echos for almost 5 years, now (!), so this review is long overdue. I have long, wavy-curly hair that is fairly easy to cut and style, but it frizzes and flips out and I wasn't thrilled with my mousy-brown natural shade. After spending the day with Eduardo, I always emerge looking like nothing short of a supermodel, with shiny, silky tresses that inspire awe from friends and strangers!! At first, I was nervous about getting a razor cut, but don't be! Eduardo's hairstyles frame your face in those perfect wispy layers, grow out beautifully, and last for months. Also trepidatious about committing to the vicious circle of highlights and roots, I had nothing to fear! Eduardo's color looks SO natural that the highlights even grow out without visible roots and I only need to go back a few times a year!! The environment is hip and cool with plenty of natural light, and great music! The assistants are also charming and eager to please, and their product lines Rene Furterer, and Loreal Professionnel are actually worth purchasing, especially the serum, deep conditioner, and styling foams! Is it a bit on the expensive side? Yes (but for San Francisco, it's a wild bargain!). Is it worth every penny? Absolutely. When It comes to my hair and who touches it I am very picky! I moved to San Francisco from the Midwest and had to immediately search for a good barber that knew what he/she was doing. Eventually I came across a card for Chris Eliares from a guy with an incredible giants portrait done in the back of his head for the world series! I knew this guy had talent so I made an appointment for as soon as I could get in to see him. After he cut my hair I knew that I had found my new barber! He is super professional about everything he does and always puts 110% into all of his work. He takes his time, paying attention to detail, and making sure he gives you exactly what you ask for. He is an artist, super talented, and can cut any style/type of hair. His portraits and designs he does are on a whole other level! Chris has been cutting my hair for almost four years now. He has had several location changes and I have traveled everywhere he has gone to get my haircut. I believe all of his loyal clients have too because he is that good! Chris is a true genius when it comes to hair! If you don't believe me, you can see his work on Fox Sports or through twitter and instagram accounts of bay area celebrities like E-40 and Colin Kaepernick. Not only is Chris a talented artist, but he makes it a pleasant trip every time I go to get a haircut. One thing that I've noticed, is that he always greets his clients with a smile and no matter who's sitting in his chair, they converse as if they've known each other for years. And in terms of the haircut, Chris always makes sure the client gets exactly what they're looking for, and I think his along with his natural talent, his attention to detail is what's making him the best in the business! He's never in a rush, but always efficient and making sure that his clients look good and feel good. I can't do anything but rave about my experiences having my hair done by Chris. Five Stars: Let me start by saying, I am VERY picky about who touches my hair and how much freedom I give any stylist. I have been getting my haircut by the same great stylist for over 5 years but the trek back to NY for a cut and color is getting a bit of a scheduling nightmare. I heard great things about Echos Hair Design, noticed they had an edge to their work and gave them a try. I made my appointment online, with Eduardo after he called me back to answer some of my concerns about my hair. I arrived on a sweaty day during the recent heatwave. Greeted right away, offered a beverage while I waited a few minutes. My apt was with Eduardo , and he was AWESOME. I had high hopes he would fix me up with some a edgy cut. He was great. He had ideas, he talked me through it, and I could not be happier with my cut and color. I have 100% found my San Francisco salon and stylist. Eliares is a hair-cutting-mad-man! He is a true barber through & through. He does not rush. He takes his time to ensure that your cut will be as fresh & clean as possible. He has high respect for details and wants to make sure that you're happy with his work. I've been getting my hair cut by him wherever he's been and since I've been in the Bay Area. I remember when he was cutting hair out of his dad's garage and charging $5. He sure has come a long way since then and is only getting better. Eliares is a humble man with great talent. I was frustrated with my hair stylist and saw a deal on Bloomspot with Tik at Echos. I called and made an appointment with her and it was an amazing experience. My last hair stylist had failed to give me the cool-toned blonde color that I described, instead I had ended up with caramel and gold toned high and low lights which didn't suit my complexion. On top of being a lovely person, Tik obviously really knows what she is doing and is a true artist. Despite the complexity of the color correction and the fact that I had roots, she managed to analyze the situation and make my hair a beautiful light and cool-toned blonde--even better than I could have dreamed of! When I went out later that evening, my girlfriends instantly asked WHO had done my gorgeous hair, and I was happy to fill them in. The best Stylist for Japanese in San Francisco!! I have Asian hair with thick and a super volume hair almost cannot manage it my self. I have been living in S.F. for almost 10 yrs and went to many different Japanese hair salons (I only go to the Japanese hair salon because they are the best to me), but no one could ever cut my hair what I 100% like and I was always looking for a suitable hair stylist for my self. (I made an exemption) I finally met the person who cuts my hair perfect. Eduardo hair cut was blown me away seriously. He knows how to cut and how to bring out the best in me. I found Eduardo 15 years ago when I first moved to SF, and the experience is so much more than pretty hair. First, Eduardo is a highly skilled stylist, both with cut and color. He is open and listens to what I want. I'm fickle- always asking for changes, and Eduardo not only rolls with it, he's always up for trying new styles. At the same time, Eduardo is straightforward with his professional opinion if a style will not work well with my hair - I appreciate the reality check. I made an appointment with Eduardo for cut and color. Honestly, I dont think in my entire life I've been so chic. He definitely dropped 10 years after 3 hours with Eduardo and his scissors. and moi? I am in love with my haircut and color, He doesn't go overboard, which I was so grateful for, but really pays attention to your whole look. Echos Salon is filled with talented hair stylists!! I'm from New York and went to San Francisco to visit some friends, stepped into this gorgeous salon and Eduardo gave me the most refreshing, beautiful hair cut I've ever had!! I was so happy to land with Eduardo Lazo, he cuts and colors which is not typical at many places you need to go to two different people. My First Review On Yelp! I've finally found a salon I love! Echos Hair Design in S.F. but when i leave this place I feel like my money has been well spent, which will forever keep me coming back! I was at Echos recently getting my hair colored and cut by Jina. There is no one better! I have been going to her for years and get compliments all the time (even from people I don't know!). Eduardo, her husband and co-owner, is also fantastic.
