It was easy to get an estimate of our moving costs and schedule our move. When moving day came, Jay and Dontay got to our apartment promptly around 8:30 am and we were fully moved into our new house by 2:00 pm. They were punctual, efficient, careful, very friendly and great with our dog even when he was barking. I have used about 3 other movers in the past. These guys are by far the best. They were 15 minutes early, and the movers Stephen and Zac were professional. They engaged in a little polite small talk but never stopped moving. I had Eco-Movers take my belongings to their storage because I am between houses (having sold one and am now in temporary housing, looking for my next house). My boyfriend and I just moved from an apartment to a house in Fremont and, after both moving several times on our own in our college years, were really committed to hiring movers this time around. Not entirely knowing what to look for in a moving company, I did some research and zeroed in on Eco-Movers for their close proximity to Fremont since I heard we would be billed from port to port. From the initial conversation I had to book the move to move-in day itself, I was so impressed with Eco-Movers! Their customer service in booking our move was friendly, helpful and professional. We were told we would need a two person team to complete our move from a one-bedroom apartment to a two-bedroom house at $125/hour. But on move-in day, one of our movers called letting us know they would be arriving soon and also offered us a third person on the team for an additional $25/hr to make the move go a bit quicker. I really appreciated their recommendation because it truly did make for one smooth and fast experience! Not only was our move-in team super friendly and easy to work with but they managed to complete our move in two hours which was two hours under their original quote time. I hope I don't have to move any time in the near future, but when I do I will definitely be using Eco-Movers again and recommending them to all my friends! read more

The Eco Movers team had a massive impact on our last minute move! They were very efficient, worked incredibly hard, and weren't phased by any hurdles we came across. I am the type of person that doesn't like to standby on work like this but I felt completely at ease releasing the wheel and leaning on their experience to get everything done. Even though they worked very fast, they were able to completely protect all our belongings and blow my expectations out of the water with how much they could move, in one load, in a relatively short time frame. The only negative I can think of is that we will have to hire them for every move from now on. I don't think my wife and I will ever be able to go back to bribing friends with pizza and beer to help us move. read more

Still. Worst. Moving. Company. Ever. Updating as the insurance company finally reached out to me after I filed a BBB complaint (Complaint #12032457) with EcoMovers. Sadly nothing seems to have moved forward yet other than them asking for an itemized list, which I provided. In addressing the response from EcoMovers, their statement is demonstrably false. They asked for a form to be filled out, which I did on 11/23/2016. They asked for further information ONCE (11/30/2016). I responded asking a clarifying question, specifically about what to do for items that I don't have receipts for (e.g. furniture my grandfather made, gifts, etc) and they ignored the question (11/30/2016). When I reached out to them to clarify again (12/18/2016) they again didn't answer the question saying they were waiting on me and suggested we speak on the phone (12/18/2016). When speaking on the phone I asked again about the receipts and was told simply that the matter was being handed off to insurance to expedite things. This is of record in the BBB complaint as well. The fact that they'd resort to lying to paint me as uncooperative further demonstrates their true nature. They did a poor job packing, communicating with their staff about timelines, they've been largely uncooperative in dealing with resolving the damages, and they're now resorting to outright lying to save face. I'm sure they're a fine moving company when nothing goes wrong but that'd be most companies really. The fact remains they messed up and they're pretty much refusing to resolve the insurance issue (I always pay extra for the full value coverage since I have a fair number of collectables among other things). read more

The crew that showed up was nice but ridiculously slow. It took 12 hours for 3 guys to do just 1 truckload. By then I gave up but there was still a lot of furniture left at the old house. In the end I spent *way* too much money and had to borrow a truck from a friend and spend the next 4 days after work moving myself. read more

Out of 4 mover experiences I've had in my life these folks were absolutely the best. Everything from the estimate to the office coordination and of course through the moving itself was a pleasant experience. I had Eco-Movers provide both packing and moving services. Rick and his crew were extremely professional and made us at ease throughout the whole process. The work performed was done inline with the initial estimate and everything was delivered in pristine shape. We also used the eco boxes which made unpacking very easy. Disposing cardboard boxes is such a pain to break down and get rid of - with Eco boxes you just stack them and let the crew pick them up when you're done. If I still lived in the Seattle area, I would definitely be a return customer for Eco! I had an excellent experience with them when they packed up my apartment to hand off to a long distance mover, but only upon unpacking my boxes at my destination did I fully appreciate what a good job they did. The long distance mover charged by item, not weight, and Eco Movers was looking out for my best interest by packing things together into larger boxes. While unpacking, I realized how smartly they had combined things such that less durable items were surrounded and protected by more durable items. I'm impressed at how they were able to make those decisions while they packed, since they also worked very quickly and efficiently. It would have taken me a lot longer to figure out how to pack things with the same quality. None of my belongings were lost and they arrived safely. It was also hugely helpful and convenient that they could take away furniture I no longer wanted for something like $25 a piece. The only thing I wish had gone a little smoother was the paperwork. Since they were handing off my things to a long distance mover and had to deal with the long distance mover's paperwork, I felt like the paperwork wasn't explained very well to me and I had to fuddle through the insurance elections and hope I was doing the right thing. read more

This company was the only solace I had during a nightmare move from Southern California to Seattle. I stupidly decided to have my stuff shipped in uboxes with Uhaul. Huge mistake. Uhaul took my stuff and then jerked me around for weeks about where my boxes were going and when I could access them. Glenda and Claudia from Eco-movers were fantastic and super patient when I had to change my move date and time several times because Uhaul is the worst. The movers that came to move my stuff in were fast, professional and genuinely nice guys. None of my items were damaged in any way. They even took a minute to say hello to my puppy who was running all over the place. I will definitely use this company again for my next move. They truly saved the day. read more

Update: I originally posted this review here, on Google and on the Eco-Movers facebook page. Within an hour of posting, they called me to discuss my missing furniture. They suggested sending one of their guys out to my house to see if he could locate the missing items (... sure, ok). Shortly thereafter, they sent someone out. Not surprisingly, they were unable to find the furniture BECAUSE IT WAS LOST BY THEM DURING THE MOVE, HELLO. The guy who was here said, "they'll be in touch." Here we are, more than two weeks later, and NADA. No phone call, they aren't responding to my emails, nothing. They did, however, spam me with a discount coupon to give to a friend if anyone I know is planning to move. HAHAHAHAHA, thanks, guys. At least I got a good laugh out of it. tl;dr: DO NOT RECOMMEND. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original Review: We used Ecomovers for a move on December 28, 2016.. In the course of the move, most of our patio furniture went missing. Ecomovers insist that they have no idea what happened to it. The patio furniture was the last thing they loaded on the truck and should have been the first thing they unloaded at the house. We did not realize that the furniture was missing until we finished unpacking all of the boxes in the garage (we thought the patio furniture was buried behind the boxes). Back story: Through the course of the move, I reminded them several times about the patio furniture. When we first discussed it early in the day, the lead mover picked up a small side table and an ottoman for the furniture and loaded them in the truck. They then went back to loading the rest of the boxes and furniture in the house. I reminded them again when the truck was fully loaded, and they loaded the remaining furniture last (two swivel rockers and a second ottoman). Interestingly, the move was from a location 0.5 miles from our house, but the movers took almost 40 minutes to get from the rental house to our house and gave me no explanation for the delay. At the time we were busy unloading our own cars and didn't question them on where they were, but now I am thinking that something happened during the interim - perhaps they didn't properly latch the door and the furniture fell out? I've called and emailed Ecomovers repeatedly about this. They first suggested that maybe the furniture was still at the rental house (not the case.) They then suggested that maybe we just hadn't found it at our house (also not the case - it's kind of hard to not notice patio furniture!) The rep I spoke with said that the movers remembered loading the furniture into the truck, but did not remember where they put the furniture when we arrived back home. They say that there is nothing they can do because their guys "can't remember" where they put it. The only pieces we have left are the first two pieces they loaded (side table and one ottoman). The contract allows for a whopping $0.60 per pound for items lost or damaged. The furniture they lost was purchased at Summer House in Bellevue and cost us $2,500 new. They have offered me nothing in compensation other than offering to refund the 40 minutes worth of time when the movers went missing. Other than this, my experience was great (but that's kind of like asking Mrs. Lincoln "how did you like the play?"). Since we didn't realize that the furniture was missing at the time, we profusely thanked our movers and gave them a large cash tip ($300). We also bought them breakfast and lunch through the day. I feel like I was taken advantage of in a huge way and am terribly disappointed in their service. read more

This company quoted me 6 hours and $800 something dollars but took 8.5 hours to move my 1 bedroom apartment into a truck, charged me $1,300 and kept all my belongings in their truck overnight. Josh moves one item at a time. I'm in average shape and moved things at 5x the speed as these incompetent employees. They show up the next day and quote me an additional $219/hour at a 5.5 hour estimate. My previous moving company took 3.5 totals including the drive. This company is 14 hours?!!!? I ended up carrying my own stuff in while they lallygagged. I don't know how this moving company has good reviews. I've had the worst experience. They are not worth what they charge. They aren't worth anything. You will have a better experience hiring someone's nanna. Also, they didn't bring tools to assemble my bed back together at the new location. I have nothing good to say about this company. I would give them negative stars. read more

I had an all around great experience with ECO movers. They offered a free pre-move visit to give an accurate estimate, and Kirk who came by was super nice and helpful. On moving day, Marcus and his crew arrived as early as I hoped, and were very kind, helpful, and hard-working. They were able to complete my move under the estimated time, saving us around $200. At the new house, I was getting a bed delivered that I hoped would arrive in time for them to carry it upstairs for me. It hadn't come yet. At the very end, after I had paid and they were in the truck ready to drive away, they saw UPS pull up to deliver it. "Sounds like we can do the job with two movers and one truck in about two hours.... (my storage unit was 16 minutes away. Yet, they only sent two movers, a truck that was WAY too big (our stuff barely filled half the truck), and at one point I had to actually ask them to stop wrapping my things in HUGE amounts of plastic (once we'd gotten to the storage unit and they disappeared for almost 20 minutes), and just UNLOAD THE TRUCK. I never thought that I would write a review for a moving company, but tis' the era of Yelp I suppose! Since I found these guys through Yelp reviews, I figured it only fair to return the favor. My boyfriend and I just quit our jobs and vacated our apartment to travel the world indefinitely, so we needed both a moving service and storage. Low and behold, Eco-Movers specializes in both! Lucky us! I began my experience with a call and the lovely Amber picked up. She was so friendly and not at all pushy. She worked with me on the best rates for our specific situation and length of time. We loved that the storage is in Queen Anne (we lived in Maple Leaf so it was only a 15-minute drive away!) As with most moving companies, they begin the clock when they leave their warehouse and stop it when they return to the warehouse. They were very honest with their start and end times and gave me a four-hour window (8 a.m. - 12 noon) and showed up right at 8:30 AM. We had three guys; Dante, Eric and Darren, all wonderful, friendly and efficient. Darren settled payment with me and reviewed all the paperwork necessary. When I had a specific question about one of the charges, he had Amber call me promptly to confirm it over the phone while he was there. Talk about service! They took three hours total from warehouse to warehouse to pack our 730 square-foot apartment. We purchased the $20 for $50 voucher deal through Yelp, which they accepted and deducted from the total bill at the end. I am extremely happy with this company and have already recommended them to many of my colleagues at work. However, I will find out if everything was transported safely and unbroken whenever we return to Seattle, which will be anytime between 6 - 12 months from now. read more

My apartment was flooded and after drying out for a couple of days, Eco was hired to help me move into a new unit. I didn't have access to my unit while it was drying out and when moving day came I wasn't prepared. I was worried once the movers saw that I wasn't packed they would need to reschedule. We've been repeat customers of EcoMovers. The first time we used them for our move from SLU to Redmond they were fantastic. We then used them a year later from a smaller place in Redmond to a bigger one. That one wasn't as great but was still good enough. We used them this last time for our move from Redmond to our house we bought in Bothell. Overall it was good but still not great. Let's start at the beginning. They arrived within their window which was good. They moved quickly which was also good. However, the packing job for loading the truck seemed kind of inefficient. That may have been partially due to how we had the apartment sorted with boxes so I can't really fault them for that. They only took a couple of breaks, however I'm not used to moving companies charging me for their lunch break. That seemed rather odd to me. Either way, it's fine. We aren't going to nitpick over. What I will complain about is that for the last two moves they've broken stuff. They broke my husband's desk last time by being too rough with it and this time they broke two legs off a table and gouged very deep holes into our walls going down the stairs. While we aren't planning on moving for awhile, I can't say that I'll use this company again. Update: I received a call shortly after I posted my review confirming that the movers charged us during their lunch hour. They refunded me that charge as well as an additional hour for the damage caused. I appreciate the effort made by Eco Movers to rectify some of the problems. They offered to send someone out to fix our gouged wall but my husband declined it. It's nice that they will fix problems but since we aren't going to use that service, I won't be able to report on it. I'm still not sure that I'd use EcoMovers in the future. While I love that they make efforts to make it right, I don't think it cancels out the damage already caused. Reason being is that they could have damaged something irreplaceable and no amount of a refund could fix that. I want to be able to trust that my things will be moved and put back in my house in one piece and I sadly can't say I have that faith in EcoMovers. read more

The move started out a little rough. The building I was moving out of can only accommodate a box truck up to 16 feet in length. I confirmed availability with dispatch, with the person who called to confirm before my move, and the driver when he was leaving. The movers arrived with a very large truck that was not going to fit in the loading dock and there were no spaces around the building for them to park. After days of packing, being sleep deprived, sore, and the time ticking on my elevator reservation, I was more than a little anxious. They returned shortly with a smaller truck and sent a team of four (I was paying for only two) to get everything moved out within my window. The team was great and more than made up for the initial snafu. They movers were all very pleasant, took great care of my belongings, and were quicker than I expected. Sometimes the way a business reacts and makes a situation right is the best indicator of the level of service they provide. Eco-Movers knocked this out of the park. We finally decided to not ask friends to help us move this time and sought out professional services. Eco movers had decent ratings and was referred by another tenant in our building. After inquiring about a quote I was helped by a very friendly service agent and I got an appointment on the day and time I wanted. On the day of the move, Rick and Brandon arrived right on time and got to work. They were efficient and careful with our belongings. Despite elevator and parking challenges they were professional and completed work on time. I paid exactly what I was quoted and I would definitely use Eco movers again for my next move. Boris and Lois showed up within the specified time. Really great guys that worked efficiently within the time window. They did a great job moving all of items out of the old place. But on the moving into the new place I had a bit of an issue when they came in, and had told me that one of my shelving units was broken due to one of them picking it up by themselves. A positive is that he told me right away about it rather than letting me find it by myself. I appreciated the honesty main reason why they are still receiving the five stars. I just moved to Seattle from the Midwest with my fiance and we had a pod full of boxes (no furniture) to move into our 4th floor apartment. The movers actually came early (which I liked since the pod was just sitting in the parking lot, although being early might be an inconvenience for someone who is finishing up their packing) and got everything out of the pod and into the apartment in right at an hour. That's a little longer than it took to pack it up in Illinos, but there was also a shorter path between apartment and truck and no elevator to deal with at our old place. In our entire apartment's worth of furnishings, only one bowl was broken, and I have no way of knowing if that was in transit in the pod or later, so I'm very pleased with their handling of our stuff. The two movers (Darius and another man whose name I have forgotten) were very polite, introducing themselves to me with a handshake when they arrived and continuing with the friendliness and politeness throughout the job. I loved that! We will definitely call Eco-Movers again when it's time to move out of this apartment (hopefully not for awhile though!) and recommend them to friends. read more

That said, I can't tell you how many times I've been hosed by movers...you know the drill...the quote comes in a $600 and the bill is always at least double the original quote. *** Update: after my review was posted yesterday, I received a phone call from Grant, the owner of Eco-Movers. He asked me for the full account of my complaint, and looked on their claims log. He said my name was on there for the date of the email I had sent, but somehow I was never contacted. He apologized profusely, promised to look into it and talk with the moving crew, and gave me his personal number so i can call him back for reimbursement when I replace the frame on the painting. I feel comfortable changing my rating back to a higher one, as all I really wanted was an acknowledgment that the damage was done and that I should have been told about it when it happened. *** SEE UPDATE ABOVE --- +4 stars for an efficient, friendly, mostly flawless moving experience. -3 stars for terrible customer service after the fact. I contracted with Eco-Movers to move me from a two bedroom apartment on Capitol Hill to a house in Greenwood. The three-man move team showed up exactly on time and was very pleasant to work with. They explained their work plan and packed everything out lickety-split, and then back in to my new place just as fast. The only thing that made me a little concerned was that a box I had deliberately left open, overpacked, and out of the way (so I could take it myself in my car--it had all of my framed artwork, and I considered it too fragile) was picked up, repacked, and then taken down to the truck while I was in the other room helping out. I hadn't had the chance to explain to them that I wanted to take that box myself, they were moving too fast! I shrugged, figured they were the professionals, and tried not to worry about it. The problem came later--when unpacking things in my new space, my friend ran across the box of picture frames they had repacked. Everything in it was fine--except that one picture was missing its frame entirely, and the (rather fragile) painting and mat were placed between two other pictures. It had a frame when I packed it up myself, so the conclusion I have to come to is that the crew broke the frame while repacking it, and then disposed of the frame entirely without letting me know--with the exception of a 2" shard of glass left at the bottom of the box. My friend cut himself pretty badly when he stuck his hand into the box and found that. I could have excused it if they told me right away. It was not an expensive frame (though the painting is irreplaceable, so I'm glad they at least left that) and accidents do happen. But nobody told me, and that is upsetting. I called Eco-Movers and left a phone message. I called again a week later. A week after that, I sent the office manager, Glenda, an email. I never received a response to any of my attempts to let them know about the issue. They called me back within an hour when I asked for a moving quote, but once they had my money they couldn't be bothered to reply and at least apologize for the damage and deception? I can't in any conscience recommend Eco-Movers, for that reason. read more

My mom decided to sell her house in Seattle and needed help getting organized, packing and moving. Since I live in New York City, I had to find someone from across the country and make arrangements to do a walk through when I would be in town and cross my fingers we picked the right company after I left (I couldn't be there to help with the actual move) - we picked Eco Movers and they were AMAZING. My mom is 80 years old and had lived in the house for almost 50 years so there was a lot to do and a lot of emotion to handle during the process. The movers were fantastic though, kind, considerate, professional and efficient. and they did EVERYTHING. We decided to have them pack her up as well as move her - they did a fantastic job start to finish. All of her nicknacks, china, vintage glassware and art work arrived in perfect shape. Nothing was damaged. Nothing. Best of all they relieved her of virtually all the stress of making the move happen which was PRICELESS. She didn't have to worry about any of her belongings being ruined or mishandled, and she didn't have to lift a finger.
