I have used movers on a few occasions, and these guys are at the top of the list! We needed to move our things out of storage and into our apartment. I placed an inquiry on the website and got a call back within 5 minutes. The quote was quick and painless - she even estimated travel time as we are not from Seattle (surprise, I know). Our move was confirmed the day before via phone as well. Day of the move, Stephan and Justin met us at the storage facility at the exact time they said they would. They introduced themselves and explained their process. Our storage units were empty and in their truck within 30 minutes. They wasted no time driving to our apartment to unload. We have a rather heavy and awkward couch which required some maneuvering to get into our apartment. Kudos to these guys for doing everything safely and efficiently. We were done in 4 hours - an amazing feat! The entire staff and experience at Eco-Movers was amazing. I initially tried another company (Can't Stop Moving), but they were booked up and recommended Eco-Movers instead. Glenda, who helped set my move, was as courteous, communicative, responsive, and professional as can be. The movers, Jay and Mario, were friendly and fast. They moved my entire 1 bedroom plus storage into a second floor 2 bedroom in 3.25 hours (including transportation time to and from their facility). I was moving from Kirkland to Seattle and never had an experience with movers before. I'm just used to doing things myself because I know where I want things and my mind may change during the move of where I want things. I've moved myself and the company I used to work for multiple times so taking care of it myself is just in my nature. This time I just didn't have the time to do it myself so I needed to get movers that could handle things in a professional manner. Calling Eco-Movers was probably the best move I made (pun intended). They were very nice on the phone, understood my situation, and even got a bonus of being able to donate/recycle the old furniture I didn't want coming with me. Let me first say that I, like most Americans hate moving with a passion. My wife and I bought a new house and decided to use movers for the fist time, with the reviews from Yelp we decided to choose Eco-Movers. The experience was better than I could have imagined, I have detailed below a few points that made me give a 5 star, super-fantastic rating. 1. I called Grant prior to the move and told him about our current house (3 bedrooms with a full basement of well lets say stuff...) Grant suggested that we hire 3 movers and plan on the move taking around 6 hours depending on how much "stuff" we had. Grant also mentioned that they had many boxes that we could get for free to box up our belongings and they would come and pick them up after we were done unpacking. We took 2 full loads of boxes in a Range Rover and this covered our entire move. I counted the total boxes and figured that we would have spent about $350 at U Haul on boxes if we had purchased these on our own. 2. The day of the move, Eco Movers was scheduled to arrive at 8:00, they called at 7:50 saying they would arrive in 5 minuets (we lived very close to their base). The crew of 3, Joseph, Jonathan and Aaron arrived right on time and did a quick walk around to see what all was included and get an idea of any fragile items. After the walk around the three of them worked non-stop at a very rapid pace loading all our belongings into the truck. Not only did they take special care to use blankets over all of our furniture and wrap it in stretch wrap, these three movers were in great physical shape and were able to move the heaviest of items without any difficulty. In total I moved 3 boxes down the stairs that day. 3. When we were nearing [what we thought was] the end of the loading, it became apparent that not everything would fit in their 24' truck. The crew called Grant and next thing we knew there was an additional truck parked outside that they continued loading into. Best of all, there was no charge for the extra truck. Grant explained that it was more important that they stay on schedule take more time (and more cost to us) to make two trips in the big truck. 4. When we arrived at our new place and the crew unloaded, they were so efficient that we had trouble keeping up with the crew to direct where they put things. I found this to be a good problem to have. The crew was running close to their estimated time so the next thing I know Grant showed up and helped unload the truck, once again at no additional cost. After seeing the crew work non-stop for about 8 hours (with the exception of a 15 minute break for lunch on the drive to the new house) it became very apparent that we made the right choice in hiring professionals. It was it less stress on our family than grabbing some friends and trying to move ourselves. In fact, between the efficiency of the movers, the care they went through to protect our belongings, all the blankets and hand trucks that were included and the free boxes, it may have cost about the same to hire Eco-Movers as it would have to move ourselves. I cannot say enough good things about out experience. If you're on Facebook, friend Eco-movers prior to your move and get 5% off. Also don't forget about the recycled boxes, this is a big money saver! I hired Eco-Movers for both packing and moving. Amazing all around. The packing crew worked quickly, and they were careful and conscientious. Nothing broke, not even my martini glasses - that's pretty amazing. They also packed while keeping things organized the way I like, i.e. cosmetics left in my tray, clothes stored while still on hangers, etc. This made unpacking much, much easier. The moving crew was awesome too. No marks on the walls, even when moving a king bed and a big couch. They also figured out the best way to arrange the boxes and furniture for unpacking. I also asked the crew to set up beds (a last minute request, by the way), and they helped without hesitation. I'll add that both crews worked very fast. This matters, since rates are by the hour. The rates were very reasonable, and, honestly, I might have paid more for this quality of work. Actually, when I add up how much I would have paid for rental truck, boxes, taking my friends to dinner for helping me, and several personal days from work . . . We filled out the online quote request for a fairly last minute move and while our date wasn't available the pleasant lady who called us back let us know there was an 8-9am arrival time available for the next day, Sunday the 26th and was told I would get 1 truck and two movers and it shoudl take about 3-4 hours. Fantastic! I immediately requested and eagerly awaited their arrival. It's great that they call you to let you know they are on their way and they got to our place around 8:15. It took them a bit of time to assess our 1 bedroom, and then they moved their truck up onto the sidewalk and to our apartment courtyard which I've never seen done in the 3 years of living there, but they managed it. They were pretty quick at getting our items out of the apartment, but it seemed like it took a bit of time to figure out the logistics of how to load it all into the truck. They also provided us three wardrobe boxes which was great to load our clothes that were all on hangers. About an hour into things, I noticed things were slowing down a bit. I thought that by the two hour mark they would have left our apartment in Ballard and be well on their way to our Greenwood apartment. I knew that it would be quicker to load the truck since our Ballard apartment has an elevator, while our Greenwood apartment has a flight of stairs involved. Once they arrived at our new place, again it seemed like they spent a lot of time figuring out logistics of things. It took a lot of effort for them to figure out how to get our couch through our interesting entryway and they eventually have to take the closet door off and that worked. I know that this is really hard physical labor and I know I was tired just from packing boxes, but I really fell like this took a LOT longer than it should have. Costell was super friendly and helpful and it seems like the other worker (didn't catch his name) wasn't familiar with how to do this and Costell had to give a lot of direction to either keep him on task or point out what needed to be done. There was a lot of time spent with them at the truck and I had to keep poking my head out to see what the hold up was, worried that something was breaking (nothing was broken, they took great care of our items) When all was said and done we were billed for 5 and a half hours of work which was a lot longer than I was expecting and hoping for. I was worried I didn't have enough cash to tip appropriately ($60) and I saw on the form you can put tip on the card. When I asked about this (so I could throw another $20 on), the gentleman told me we could but they preferred cash so they didn't get taxed on it. It's also great that they take credit cards but I didn't realize this meant they would be copying my credit card number on the paperwork with a pen. I'm very leery of privacy policies, etc and I felt slightly uncomfortable having my full card number, exp date and the code on the back of my card written down on a piece of paper. I'm not insinuating that anything would be done with it by the workers or the company, but having something like a phone app or something feels more secure to me. It was great that everything arrived in one piece and our movers were friendly, but I ended up spending way more than I could have imagined on this. Considering I didn't use the frog boxes, it seems like I could have gotten the same service on craigslist or outside Home Depot for a lot less without compromising service. read more

I've moved three times in the last three years - each time with Eco-Movers. They came upon recommendation of my friends, who unanimously and without prompting mentioned them the first time they heard that I was moving. That is how sterling their reputation is. After being harassed and mistreated by other local movers even as early as the QUOTING process (put down a deposit? they don't take American Express?), Eco-Movers was such a breath of fresh air and continues to be to this day. Glenda is fantastic, and a real partner in the moving process. Always courteous, prompt, and accommodating, she is a pro and can help you work out every detail - how many boxes, how many people on the crew, etc. I have a mix of furniture ranging from IKEA to a century old antique dresser, and even though no one in their right mind would guarantee that IKEA particle board would make it through three moves, they treated it with such care each time that all of my furniture has survived flawlessly. That is a real testament to their care and attention, as IKEA furniture with other movers usually just turns into saw dust en route. Use their reusable boxes and equipment - it will save you tons of time and frustration! Seriously, unpacking goes quickly and isn't nearly as painful with their proprietary boxes or the Frogboxes rather than cardboard. When done, take the stack outside and they'll come whisk them away. Also - and this must be said - each time I have had mostly different crews, and each time all have been wonderful. They're professional, prompt, and hard-working, and can get through some very tight situations (narrow stairwells, crazy angles)! They are cautious and careful and will make sure that all your stuff makes it in one piece, and are happy to do it. I had to quickly downsize and move from a big house to a tiny apartment. in the past, I've never been able to find a moving company that could schedule a move with less than a month's notice. Based on that experience I didn't have high hopes when I called Eco-Movers. What a pleasant surprise! Not only could they schedule my move with only a week's notice, scheduling was a breeze. My partner and I moved from a really old apartment in South Lake Union to a more modern building in Lower Queen Anne. We only really had a weekend to move, and a friend referred us to Eco-Movers, as she had just moved with them and said they were awesome. Fast forward to Sunday, they show up on time (actually, they said they could show up a little early as they had finished their previous job faster than expected, but we needed a little more time to pack). We had Satch (spelling?) and Dante. They were friendly to a degree that may be considered criminal here in Seattle, and were efficient. Best of all, they were friendly and efficient AND STILL got all of our furniture out of our apartment full of narrow hallways and even narrower stairwells without a scratch. AND! We were one of three households moving in to the complex on Sunday; we arrived after the other trucks of comparable size and then they were gone before the other trucks were done. Maybe the other guys were slow... but still. Eco-movers didn't mess around. Overall our process took about 3 and a half hours... Had we done it ourselves though it would have cost two days and potentially our relationship. Eco-Movers made our move across town, from a two bedroom condo to a multi-level house with narrow stair cases, a breeze. Pre-move details were easy - I received the quote, scheduling confirmation, and two day prior confirmations all in a timely and friendly manner over the phone. On the day of the move three guys showed up at our doorstep on time, and here's what made this move much better than our last move. All three introduced themselves and were outgoing, friendly, and eager to assist with questions and special requests. The last time we moved the movers we hired (I think just from Uhaul) never said a peep to us, which was a bit disconcerting. This experience was much better. These guys went above and beyond, helping us put together heavy furniture that they didn't even move to our house and carrying it up the stairs for us (we're talking a 400 lb flat filing cabinet that was delivered to our doorstep that we could hardly move across the room ourselves). The only hiccup we had was that they put together our bed incorrectly, but after we called to ask if they could come fix it they were quick to schedule a time for someone to come out and assist. The guy who came out was very friendly about it, and simply joked he'd be getting lunch from the guy who put it together incorrectly. To sum it up - positive attitudes really made for a positive experience. We would highly recommend this company for your move. read more

We moved our storage unit and condo into our new house. These guys met me at the storage unit in the morning and rocked it! They followed me to the condo and busted that out in about an hour. Our entire move time was 3.5 hours. Our experience was top notch. They were careful with our belongings and had positive friendly attitudes, which I believe is key during what could be a stressful moving situation. We had Dante, Jay, and Jordan. FANTASTIC MOVERS!!! I've moved 6 times since graduating from school so I've seen my fare share of movers. On our last move (from our condo to my mom's basement while our new house is remodeled) we called Eco-Movers. They were fantastic! Here are some of the highlights: 1. Showed up exactly when they said they were going to and gave us a call to confirm the day before and the morning of. 2. Were SUPER fast and efficient in moving our stuff out of our condo. They were practically running. Since movers charge by the hour, it is to their advantage to move slowly but these guys did not do that. 3. They were very creative in getting us into our new space. Since we were moving a king bed into my mom's basement with low ceilings and a weird angle through the door, they had to really work to get the mattress down there and they did so without damaging anything. 4. What they charged us is exactly what they quoted us. 5. They were fun to work with, professional, and had a great sense of humor! I had a great experience with Eco Movers recently. Most of the highly-rated movers were already booked up and others wanted me to pay a 3 hour minimum for a super-quick move (just moving from one studio to another less than half a mile away). Glenda was a pleasure to deal with over the phone. She was polite and and very kind. She responded within a couple of hours to my online estimate request and we booked my move immediately. They give you a two hour window during which the movers may arrive, so I went for a 1-3 PM arrival. On the day of the move, the office called me and told me that the two man team finished their first job early so they could be over within the hour. Since I was ready to go, I gave them the go ahead and the crew was over within 45 minutes. The two guys (whose names unfortunately escape me) were funny and very nice. They got the job done incredibly efficiently and didn't waste a bit of time. They didn't throw things around and even shrink-wrapped a few items for extra protection. They finished the job well under the time estimate so I easily ended up paying half of what other companies would have charged. I don't believe that they have a minimum so you won't have to pay for time that you don't use. They offer some insurance plans but I didn't bother. They provided excellent customer service, both over the phone and in person. They work fast and get the job done as quickly as they can, so you don't have to pay for any more time than you need. Margin, Tim, and Ladalle were our crew today. The estimate was 7 hours for a one bedroom apartment including packing EVERYTHING in our house and storage unit, packing the truck, and unloading at our new house, and ended up taking 8. I've had movers who were inefficient or worked not quite as hard in the past, so these guys blew away our expectations. Highly professional and efficient crew, they kept our carpets clean with a rug they threw down on the walkway and packed everything better and faster than we could've, and moved everything to our preferred room/floor on the unload. The original reason I hired them is because they packed everything in re-useable bins and brought wardrobe boxes that they'll use in the future. The only waste was the packing materials, which they used only what they needed. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to move! read more

I initially talked to Grant at the beginning of the month when I was trying to decide on a mover, based solely on Yelp recommends. Though many of the companies had a similar rating here and about 1/3 of the quotes I got were for the same price, Grant's quote seemed to most transparent and open about pricing and informing me of Washington State Law when it comes to movers. So we decided to hire Eco-Movers, and were extremely pleased! We went with a 2 person crew, who were fast, professional, and careful with the furniture. Nothing got damaged and the move ended up taking 25% less time than the quote we were originally given. This is the best move I have ever had. And we have lived all over the country, having moved eight times. We had a rather complex local move- from storage unit and apartment including packing to single family home in Magnolia. For obvious reasons, I was concerned because of the per hour rate. How did I know if they were fast or slow? This is no joke--- they guys RAN between the truck and my load. They handled my stuff gently and there was no damage. They did a logical job of packing. They used recycle plastic crates which held more and was ecologically sound. The crew was polite, cheerful and handled unusual situations with grace- Like the FIRE ALARM went off in my building. We couldn't go in until fire trucks left. Then the elevators didn't work for two hours. they hauled the crates up to 3rd floor. Then there were normal crisises, like my couch wouldn't fit in the basement. They tried inside, outside stairwell, all different angles. I watched them. Just wasn't going to happen. And they were still nice. All I can say. Trust me. Use them. I know what I am talking about. read more

We hired a team from Eco-Movers to help us move out of our house in Ballard. They showed up on the appointed day at 8:00 a.m. which was an hour earlier than we expected (miscommunciation on our end). However, they were gracious and very professional and gave us the option of helping out right away. We said "YES!" and a team of three guys helped us pack our final things. These guys are pros - they were friendly, very courteous and helpful. Plus the most important thing was that they were good movers. They took care with every one of our items, from the biggest pieces of furniture down to the small boxes. After 4 hours the house was empty and the truck loaded up and they were off. I moved two years ago with one of the big moving chains and it was a horrible experience. I am so GLAD that local movers like these guys are in business. They did a much better job and at a more reasonable rate than the "big name" moving companies. The Eco-Movers guys exceeded our expectations in every way. Unfortunately, we did not have a positive experience at all with this company. We had issues from start to finish. We hired this company for a cross-country move to Ohio. We had problems with the packing crew, the delivery crew and the company that Eco Movers used to move a personal vehicle cross-country. I don't want to list the entire litany of egregious errors that Eco Movers committed, but I will talk about one. The attached photo is from one of our kitchen boxes. The silverware basket from our dishwasher was removed, filled with silverware, and placed in a box. I don't know what else to say really. Just the pinnacle of incompetence. I did reach out to the company to explain a few of the things we have had to deal with. I never heard back from them. read more

I want to give them 6 stars for the fact that I didnt have to move all of my heavy ass furniture and stuff from point A to point B up and down stairs. They were mostly gentle with my stuff. There were a few casualties in the move- a crappy particle board shelving unit and a plastic wheel were broken, but those things arnt really designed to be moved. I aint even mad. Everything else was just as it was before the move, and they did everything is 3 hours. FYI- They have insurance plans to cover damages during the move that you can pay extra for. None of the plans cover IKEA type furniture. I didnt bother. The guys were friendly and professional, and they wrapped all of my glass pieces with padding and even made sure to put small screws and pads together so they wouldn't be lost. Worth every penny. I called Grant, the owner, to get a quote for our rather sudden move. He came the very next day, right on time, and with a call in advance to let me know he was on his way. He walked through our big 2,000-square-foot house methodically and took a day to mull it over before emailing me detailed quotes for both moving and packing and moving. I appreciated his thoughtfulness and pleasantness. I had originally asked for dates later in the month, but when we had to move the very next weekend, Grant immediately set us up with a three-man crew without batting an eye. Jonathan and his guys were right on time (they showed up at 8a when the window was 8-9a, and they called first). They packed up our enormous house filled with kid stuff in THREE HOURS. We were in shock. It would have taken us weeks to do what they did in a few hours. Dang. So worth it. They came back the next day to do the actual move, again super punctual. This part took them longer than Grant estimated, but they still got it done in one day. We got their Frogboxes deal, and those thingies are super cool. We got to keep them for a week, so that gave us plenty of time to get our stuff out of them for when Grant comes back to pick them up. He is also taking all the used packing materials (paper, bubble wrap, shrink wrap, etc.) to recycle it for us. Nice! As far as I can tell, there's only one gouge on our dining room table and one nick on the wall in the stairwell of our old house. Otherwise, no damage whatsoever. There were a few tidbits left behind in our old house (the dishwasher with clean dishes, the laundry room had two hampers of dirty clothes, the shower curtains are still on the rods in the bathroom, and my toiletries are still in the shower--nothing we can't collect in a car trip). That might bother some people, but it's NBD for us because we'll be going back anyway to clean and inspect. Grant called on Monday to see if there were any problems and to ask how it went. Super professional guy with top-notch customer service skills (and I should know--I used to work in customer service). One last caveat--Grant does warn about this in his email, but if you use a credit card there is a fee. Be sure to take out cash in advance, going over the estimate just in case so you won't be in a bind when it's pay time. We would definitely hire these guys again should we have to move (Rod forbid) and have already got our friends calling them up for their moving needs. Bravo! read more

I was really reluctant to get movers, but with an apartment filled with new furniture, I didn't trust myself to move my items without help. These guys were INCREDIBLE. I got connected to Eco-Movers as part of a move-in special offered by the apartment building I was moving in to. Gary was in charge of my move that day. He and his teammate were prompt, polite, and courteous. They took good care of my belongings. They made the process go very smoothly and quickly. I really appreciated their good attitudes and friendly personalities. I would recommend them to anyone. I didn't have to foot the bill so I don't know about their prices, but I'm sure they are worth every cent. I'm hoping to not move again for a very long time, but I will call them for sure when I do. read more

This company seems great. While I did not actually use them for a move, I wanted to write this review as a warning for people who are looking for a moving company. I got a call from "Eco Movers" (ecomovers.net--NOT this company) and they pointed me to the positive reviews here on Yelp. The lady on the phone even pointed me towards ecomovingmovers.com and said it was their site ("that's the one, I think"), but her email address said ecomovers.net (a company with a BBB rating of F). Luckily I figured it out before doing anything, but I did waste time talking with them and making an inventory of my furniture. I even called this company (the good one) and the lady, Glenda, was great. A+ for them! I wish they did moves outside of Washington. read more

Moving can be a nightmare. Eco-Movers is a company dedicated to making the nightmare manageable and, even, bearable! So, look no farther if you need to immerse yourself in the nightmare! Eco-Movers will provide salvation. I have lost count of how many times I have moved, both in-country and overseas. Eco-Movers displayed a level of service I have encountered only once before (and that was overseas). Our moving crew comprised outstanding professionals. Quick, efficient, polite and extremely helpful. They worked literally on overdrive for 10-12 hours at a time, packing and then moving. Despite the great volume of the job, there was not one single little thing broken. Try to beat that, it won't be easy. And it was all done with a smile and a good word. Try to beat that, too! Administratively, it all went smoothly, with both telephone and email communication and timely confirmation. Eco-Movers was the ONLY company I called which had its representative visit our house to give us an estimate. I found this most helpful and proper. All others said they'd make an offer without actually seeing what was the content of the house. Not good. I keep the Eco-Movers phone number handy. Since we are now to stay put in Seattle hopefully forever, I won't need any other moving company. I will be asking for their help every time there's need, big or small, and at very competitive rates. After being frustrated by movers in the past, these guys were a breath of fresh air. When they were moving stuff out of the old place, we knew they were friendly and efficient, but we were really impressed when they moved stuff in. There was a couch that really shouldn't have made it up the stairs, but they made it happen. Even more miraculously, the move came in under time and estimate. I've never had that happen with movers before (usually the surprise is much more unpleasant). I'd happily recommend them to any friends or family looking to move. read more

I've never hired a moving company before, but I'm so glad I did, and with Eco-Movers. Grant contacted me the same day that I requested a quote from his website. He gave me an estimated time of work, and Grant and Jay ended up finishing up the job a couple of hours earlier than expected. They were all smiles and assured me that it'd be a quick move. Professional, prompt, efficient, answered all my crazy questions and even took their shoes off! They provided me with wardrobe boxes to put all my odds and ends into for ease of packing. Grant had a helper (Chris, I believe) and they were great! Courteous and ready to work! They moved everything asked and nothing was broken! Their pricing was on the dot (as quoted) and I totally love their eco-friendly set up (reuses boxes, etc.). Also, they were very helpful as I was trying to set up the rug in the new place and they had all the patience in the world as I nit-picked about the 1/2-inch that was slightly off. They also moved furniture around to where I wanted and rebuilt everything back to making my new apartment "home". They had a great sense of humor, and made moving much more enjoyable! They would have gotten all 5 stars, but I knocked down one due to lateness w/o a call to let us know. I like being informed. Overall, I would use Eco-Movers again! This company was amazing from start to finish. I've used Can't Stop Moving a couple of times int he past, and they were great too. But Eco-Movers were amazing. The woman on the phone was very friendly and accommodating. And when the movers came, they were right on time. They moved fast and carefully. I was moving from a one bedroom apartment into a new house, so I didn't have a ton of stuff. But they moved quickly. I'd recommend them to anyone 100%, especially for little in-town moves. And when you call, ask for sideburns and the Jamaican dude. (That's what they told me to call them). Total pros. Worth every penny. Two reviews, really. Ecomovers used to be married to an outfit called Frog Boxes. Frog boxes, thirty crates that are of uniform size was dispensed for our 1 br, do what every good housework product does - reduces your carbon foot print and gets you off your ass. They're strong, study plastic crates as you'd find in a ship yard, see? You think they're going to sell 30 of them to you for $70? Nope, you're renting them and it's a total Logan's run situation. Two weeks to unpack and then they're coming for you. I know I tend to move in the whole time I live some place, so this is super important. We used Ecomovers at first because they were the Frog Box people. You save a LOT on move time when everything is in these uniform boxes. There's no intricate balancing act for the movers and the reinforced boxes protect your belongings well. Eco movers have always been great to us. Having once used another line for relocation and seen the hell that bad movers can be, we'll never use anybody else. read more
