When he returned the next day to request the discount, the owner (who is also a Veteran) told my husband, he could not receive the discount after purchase. If this how a discount is provided "where if you don't ask for it your self, staff are not required to ask an obvious question regarding a discount, why bother to offer it". The guy changed my battery while I waited and did so fast and efficiently -- there was a bracket…read moreholding down my battery that corporate apparently doesn't want their employees to mess with -- but the guy who changed my battery explained everything and made an exception, which I appreciated so I didn't have to change it myself. I'm glad I have an older car -- would you believe that newer cars won't accept a new battery until you register it or something with the car's computer? Think I'm showing my age but I digress. One thing I recommend is to keep your car running for a while or drive it around as a new battery sitting for a while can lose charge. Don't turn it off right away. It chugged a bit to start the second time but did so and after driving for 15 I was good to go. The store is well organized and clean. Great variety of supplies -- much easier than hunting on Amazon. Good to see brick and mortar stores like this that hold their own. You can even pick up some Lucas CLP and an "Extreme Duty" needle oiler, which is stocked right across from the register as you walk in. That's a nice touch :)
