I've been using this company for about 2 years. By far the best ones out there! They don't rush & explain what's going on after they inspect every part of your property. I had a big problem all of a sudden after being the owner for 30 years. Don the tech was sent to me. He explained why the problem all of a sudden & he went to work right away. I highly recommend him because he's the best tech I've ever dealt with & a great guy! Within 2 weeks the problem was pretty much solved & now they do a monthly follow up & I've been very happy with the results! A lot of companies will come out, drop some bait & some traps traps & hit you with a big bill & you'll realize after a month or so your problem got worse, FACT!! Not all but most! The Management company of the development in which I live decided to use Ecologic to "exterminate" cockroaches brought in by one tenant who collects garbage, bringing it back into the building. Ecologic put 3 paper "traps" around my apartment which did nothing to trap, deter or kill the roaches. When I reported further infestation and lack of success with this method, management engaged Ecologic, once again. I cancelled the appointment as there was no point in repeating an unsuccessful exercise. read more

An "inspector" who claimed he had "six months experience" came to inspect my apartment. The building is infested with bedbugs but I had thoroughly examined my own apartment and found nothing. The novice inspector lifted my mattress, scanned with a dim flashlight (mine was 100 times brighter); did not lift the bedskirt (I did); did not examine sofa cushions or rug (loose area rug) and declared my apartment "absolutely clear" and said "I can tell there are no bedbugs here - this is not an environment for bedbugs" and left. I work in property management and deal with a lot of vendors. These guys are the real deal and johnothan goes the extra mile to solve the problem. I had a particularly challenging bug scenario that had been misdiagnosed by two very large, reputable companies as bed bugs. But it didn't make sense- the property was completely vacant and in a state of remodel. every time a new company would treat for bedbugs more bugs would come back filled with blood but nobody was living there. The place was basically a construction site. We have inspected the neighbors place. No bugs. None of us had taken bedbugs home... None of us had bites. I was convinced these pests were coming from the swallow bird nests under the eaves... there were definitely some people out there that thought I was crazy. previous inspectors said were fine and merely a cosmetic nuisance. My gut instinct told me I needed to get a third, unbiased opinion. Johnothan correctly identified the real culprit as swallow bugs- the bed bug cousin. He solved the problem and saved me thousands of dollars! These are moments that remind me that you have to be thorough. You have to get vendors like these guys- who are diligent, have knowledge and go the extra mile. First off, I would like to certify that I am not some third-world reviewer paid to write slobbering Yelp reviews for chump change. Anyhoo! I recently got bit in my belly, in a series of bites, two of the sets being arranged in perfect little triangles. Like crop circles. The work of extraterrestrial visitors? Maybe! Fleas from the cats? Maybe! Bed bugs? Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeyowwwwww, maybe!!!! The morning after a friend quizzed me on my bites and mentioned the ominous BB term, Jonathan was flipping my mattress and poking around, bless his soul. I had done the whole checking for fecal matter (they excrete our blood in rust-colored crap that you can actually rehydrate so that it turns back into, basically, blood) thing myself, saw no blood stains on the white sheets, had looked into the mattress's nooks and crannies, saw nothing. So why did I pay $150 for the inspection, and was it worth it? Yes, I'd say so. Jonathan was, as others have noted, professional, knowledgeable, and very thorough. He took the mattress clear off the bed frame and pointed his flashlight into the frame's nooks and crannies, pointing out the places where the BBs would likely hang out. After a painstaking inspection of the bed, bed clothes and mattress, and a praise-worthy discretion about the bed's drawers and all the grownup materials therein, Jonathan then checked out the futon we use to lounge on and watch TV. Those futons are ungainly beasts, aren't they? Nonetheless, he rolled that sucker back and inspected away. No bugs were found anywhere, thank goodness. I think the cats brought a flea in, or perhaps I got bitten by mites, or, most likely, very small aliens made crop circles on my belly. At any rate, I haven't received any more bites. Ecologic gave me peace of mind, so I'm glad I had them come suss out the situation. And furthermore, they deserve business because they've got a lovely Zen approach to living with other creatures, in spite of being willing to bomb them to kingdom come if need be. read more

The government sets guidelines on how much rodenticide to use and this company under applies it to continue charging more money and more visits. Once I pointed it out to them and gave my notice the stranded me on the side of the road to walk home in 30 degrees temps. read more

Great company. I have used them three years in a row for annual foundation spraying for ants and they were great. Very nice on the phone, prompt arrival and the technician seemed to know what he was talking about each time. They drive these cute little cars too! I would recommend them to anyone having to deal with pesky little bugs in and around their house. read more

Highly recommended. I found a bug in my bed and had some bites on me and immediately thought bed bugs. I called about 5 other places, some who didn't get back to me, some who didn't have any available appointments for days, and some who diagnosed bed bugs over the phone just by my bug description. I was so nervous. I got around to calling Ecologic and it was the best choice I could've made. 1. Customer service was excellent - having spoken to other places it was a breath of fresh air to talk to someone on the phone who was calm, and didn't make me worry, but was also concerned for me and did the utmost to get me a next day inspection. 2. Timely - an invoice was sent to me via email ahead of time, and Jonathan showed up promptly at 9am for the scheduled appointment. 3. Thorough and professional - Jonathan took my whole bed apart down to the frame, inspected the mattress, the bed frame, the walls, the floor etc, and luckily found nothing. He educated me on what to look for and why he said I came up negative. And also made me feel NOT CRAZY that I suspected bed bugs in the first place and said to call or send a picture if I find anything else and he could give me advice over the phone. Some of these 5 star reviews are people relieved that they don't have bedbugs. I was relieved too until I found out they were wrong... Had a tenant complain that she was getting bit all over at night. She went to a doctor who said these are bedbug bites. Tenant alerted me and I called Ecologic. They charged $150 for the inspection. Inspector showed up on time, was nice and professional. Inspector got to work and found a larvae of a carpet beetle and declared that this was most likely the issue as some people have skin reactions to them. Said there was absolutely no sign of bedbugs. Now, here is where the real issues begin. I asked about the doctor's claim that these were bites from bedbugs and the response was along the lines of "doctors can't really tell the difference between bites from one creature and a skin reaction from another creature." Inspector recommended we cure the carpet beetle problem by cleaning thoroughly. That was it for the visit. A week later, my tenant claims she cleaned and cleaned and even bought a new vacuum for the problem and she's still being eaten alive at night. I call Ecologic and tell them that the issue is still going on. They tell me that we have to keep cleaning because it's almost certainly carpet beetles. So I tell my tenant and remind her that these are professionals and they're probably right. She reminds me of her doctor's claim... I should have listened... Another week and a half goes by and my tenant keeps getting bit, then finds bedbugs right on her box spring. I call ecologic and complain that they exacerbated the problem by not finding it / treating it for 2 1/2 weeks and counting. I tell them I want treatment expedited. They refuse to even schedule a treatment until they see a picture of the bug to confirm it's a bedbug. So I get a pic from my tenant and email them the picture (clear as a day, it's a bedbug) and I tell the guy on the phone I want to talk to a manager when they call back. The same non managerial guy calls back 4 hours later and tells me his boss went home and they will not expedite my treatment. I'm going with another company at this point. After twenty years of apartment living in Boston and NYC, I have never had bed bugs. Six months after returning to Back Bay, my luck ran out. I frantically called Jonathan and he made time for this crazy person who suspected beg bugs. Jonathan is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, thorough and accommodating. We confirmed bed bugs and he understood that it's a pretty traumatic experience and took the time to educate me from all angles. He is extremely knowledgeable and leads workshops and seminars regularly. The treatment he uses is completely odorless and colorless and he has treated my apartment and furniture with care. I also gave him keys to my apartment while I was traveling, so he proved trustworthy as well. I learned that it is critically important to treat beg bugs properly. If you use a repellent, they will scatter and you will have a very difficult time getting rid of them. If you suspect bed bugs, do yourself a favor and call Jonathan. I don't have another exterminator to compare him to, but I can tell you that he is top notch in his field and ranked very high on my professionalism scale. Super friendly, super fast, super informative. No upselling or scare tactics, just good info from good people. A satellite install guy warned me I had a burgeoning hornet's nest on my roof, which I'd normally let go, but I wanted to make sure it was just hornets and that they weren't getting under the eaves or anything. The last thing I want is stinging insects pouring through my light fixtures months or years from now. (I'm from Houston where we once had mostly-harmless bees take over the entire garage from inside the wall paneling. I like bees but there are limits!) Ecologic Entomology came out within a couple of days of my web inquiry. I was really impressed that they made the most of my limited side-yard to get at the nest, which I couldn't even see, with an extension pole and didn't charge me for ladder access. Very nice and seemingly knowledgeable people who come out. Not very good with follow up, and not very interested if it is not bed bugs, roaches, mites, rats or the usual variety of vermin and rodents. My friends mom lives in an elderly high rise in Boston, and her building management uses this company. It's January 2019 and she still has insect monitors sitting in her apartment from September 2018, because no one cares, neither her property management who ignores her, or Ecologic Entomology. The very last name this company should have is Entomology, which is the scientific study of insects, not just bed bugs. They have failed her. read more

Extremely professional and excellent service! I had a skin reaction to something and neither me or my doctor could figure it out, so I had to go down the list of possible causes. When I got down to the possibility of bed bugs, I set up an appointment, and after a thorough check, my mind was put at ease, and knew that most likely bed bugs were not the problem and I could cross it off the list of possibilities. Jonathan Boyar came out to see us, as my daughter and I have been getting bit by something in the night, or so we think, and it's not a vampire! Of course, the fear was the dreaded bedbug! Jonathan asked very pertinent questions, after which he did a thorough check of our beds, taking them clear off the frame. Didn't find anything to indicate bedbugs, which was worth every penny of his visit to have peace of mind. Gave some suggestions of what it might be, probably something environmental, which should be an easy fix with vacuuming, mattress covers, that kind of thing. This place was very helpful when we got bed bugs. They do a free bug identification if you bring in a specimen. We brought a bag of bugs down and they were able to identify them right away. Even though our landlord didn't want to go with them (she went for a cheaper slightly questionable company, unfortunately we had no say) they talked with us for an hour on the process and provided us with information on the top three chemicals used. They also provided us with some legal advice on dealing with the landlord. I wish our landlord would have gone with them for the treatment because they genuinely seemed to care about our well being and were very knowledgable. If you have the option I would go with this company, if not they are still happy to help answer any questions. read more
