    Civic type R dyno run

Absolutely Great Service! I showed up and was met by both the owner (Paul) and the shop manager (Matt) to discuss the possibility of fixing and tuning my car after several other shops had failed. They were very upfront about the entire process and made sure that I understood possible outcomes and listened to all my input. I was told it would take 3 weeks to complete due to a very booked schedule but to my surprise they were able to finish in just about a week and ever better the car runs absolutely flawless! The day I was scheduled to tune I showed up early eager to watch it on the dyno, The waiting room was extremely comfortable and a very peaceful area for me to get some work done while I waited and when they were ready they came and got me so I could watch the car. Absolutely awesome experience! They explained very clearly about everything they were doing and that they had done and made the entire process very easy. I would 100% recommend using this shop for anything car related.

After 25 plus years in the garage, my beloved 1952 MG TD was in serious need of help. I had…read moreexpected it to be my retirement project but the restoration was beyond my ability. The issues were numerous and required a wide range of expertise to address. Just a few examples include the engine, which had seized, the upholstery, which had been completely destroyed by mice, the convertible top, which needed replacement, and the gas tank, which had rotted out. Enfield Auto Restoration is nearby and conveniently located for me. They were, therefore, an obvious first choice when searching for a restoration shop. I initially met with Ray, the owner, to discuss my car and get a tour. I was very impressed and actually amazed at some of the work they were doing. It was a complete shop that included separate areas for for such things as upholstery, paint, metal fabrication, and wood. One of the first things that they worked on was the gas tank, which on my car is on the exterior. They were able to cut out the bad area and weld in new metal that they had shaped to the original curved contour. In the end, it was a perfect job. My car remained there for the rest of the winter while they addressed the other issues, typically moving around in various sections of the shop. My MG is now back on the road and I'm very happy with the results, especially after all the years it spent in my garage. With regard to the billing, the bills typically came once a month by mail. Each bill included an itemized list of parts and materials, work performed, man hours and labor cost. In some cases, they also included photographs of the work. The billed hours always seemed reasonable for the work preformed. I also know that they keep careful track of the time spent on the job. Each technician clocks in and out on a computer when working on a particular car. I would recommend Enfield Auto Restoration. This is a friendly and honest shop. It is owned and operated by real car people. I would also be remiss if I didn't mention Rick, the shop manager. On more than one occasion, Rick exceeded my expectations when it came to customer service. Thanks Rick!

It was much wider and thicker than the original and it was not even installed properly. It was flailing and detached so that water was seeping down into the metal around the windshield. I went back to them and spoke with a worker called Aiden. The solution Aiden had was to add tons of glue. I also asked him why they didn't use the same type of gasket as previously and he did not have an answer for me. I assumed it was a Made-in-China product like so many other things now-a-days and that the original gasket was no longer available. Shortly after, I noticed that other areas of the gasket were loose. I ended up bringing it to someone else. Because of all the glue Aiden had applied, when the new shop took the windshield out, it broke at the last tug. And, they said the wrong gasket was used. Indeed, the correct gasket is still available, which is what Wolf Autoglass installed. All I can say is wow. How are places like this still in business? I went back yet another time to get a copy of the invoice. Rich Bouleau, the owner said he could not give me a copy of it, because he was subcontracted to do the job by Strong's Autocare. He further explained that Strong's was the customer, not me, even though I am the one that hired him to do this job in conjunction with the work that Strong's was doing. Also, he said the gasket they used is a universal gasket. Thank you, Mr. Bouleau for your total lack of pride in the work coming out of your shop and disregard for the customer and their vehicle. This shop is a low-quality establishment and their work is of little to no value, in my experience.

To "Racer X' ( giving yourself a 5 star rating as the business owner is an awesome move)…read more Got to bring that average up! To personally attack my judgement on the selection this "classic" vehicle or the fact I don't "understand the level of financial commitment" speaks volumes. $13,000 worth of volume. I went into this knowing I would need to do some things done, and have the estimates to prove that. Where my judgement failed me was my selection of the Paddock. Was an engine replaced? A transmission? It was removed and reinstalled. Any reputable garage knows that this is an easy task for a Corvair. Yes, the tranny was rebuilt, there was work performed, I get it. I have several pages of it. Speaking of, for any prospective client that wants to review the estimate vs. invoicing and any work performed I received over this 5 month journey, you are free to contact me. You be the judge. I will remain impartial. Anyone that owns or maintains a Corvair knows they are NOT rocket science. By the way, I had the leaks fixed at another "reputable" shop for $100. Oh, and the door handle your shop "fixed" fell off on the way home, and I had to reconnect the wires to the GEN/FAN light as well. Guess that was missed on the reinstall. I am sure if I had gone to the DMV with the paperwork and correspondence from the Paddock regarding this work, they would have investigated. But I didn't. Is it too late? I am a fair person. Perhaps I am wrong, perhaps your real customers will prove that. I had a Macys budget and went to a Nordstoms, apparently that "whim" once again failed me. Just wasn't expecting wal-mart quality. Had I looked at the various other site reviews and known that some of these 5 star ratings are in fact family and friends and not actual customers; well now I know better. So to Racer X, I will say may the Paddock continue to prosper. I would recommend that all your "real" customers get on-line to do an honest review. As a business owner I would think critical feedback would be utilized to improve performance not result in personal attacks. I am sure you have decided to no longer induct Corvairs into your shop. Elimination of a potential revenue stream is always a good move Are you checking annual salaries to ensure they have the proper "level of financial commitment"? I do applaud the fact the Paddock gives back to the community and fund scholarships for future mechanics on the lost art of automotive restorations. Kudos for you for that! By the way, the truck is now running great. Retiring afforded me the time to do it myself, and had I owned a lift I may have done this myself to begin with. I think $13K will buy me a decent lift right? As I stated previously, I am not mad at the Paddock, I am mad at myself for selecting the Paddock.

Was told when I brought vehicle to them they knew how to work on it (corvair). Not true at all. I had to bring in a 3rd party to give them guidence. Also it was apparent I had zero priority over higher paying clients. I'd be embarassed letting someone leave my shop like this. Live and learn. I blame myself for being lazy and not doing the work myself. I could have replaced the entire powertrain for what this costs. Now I am stuck to repair it myself anyway. I am retired so I guess I have time now. There is so much more I can discuss regarding my interactions with the paddock. They insist they did right by me. I can't agree with that at all. Fact is, the truck is still leaking and will not start. (which they also "fixed") My advice, have deep pockets, have a lot of patience, and have an alfa romeo (seems to be their knack). Good luck. I'd give them a 1, but the body shop and whoever did the wiring stuff did a good job.
