I really Appreciate the service at Ed Kenley's Car Barn. Bob Stratton (No relation) was amazing- we came in with some difficult requirements for our vehicle (Under 10k, had to meet our bank's 90% Loan-to-Value requirement, and had to comfortably fit a 6'5", 350 lb driver.) The vehicle we originally came in to look at wasn't a good fit (literally) but Bob had a 2007 Ford Expedition ready to go- and it was perfect. The buying process was fast, straightforward, and the sales manager we worked with couldn't have been friendlier. We've had the vehicle for a couple weeks now, and it's been great! We've found a couple of minor items that need to be fixed, but nothing that's enough to bring it back to the dealership (one of the side mirror downlights is out.) read more

beware if you take your car in to be fixed here. i took one of my comercial vans into these guys when i took it in it ran great besides every so often it would jolt a little bit so i took it in. they said it would be $1800.00 to fix i thought that was high but i said go ahead and fix it. four days later they called me and said it was fixed. i went and picked it up and it is all messed up its jolting none stop so i take it back they keep it for another 2 days i get a text that says they snapped off a bolt and its going to be another 3500.00 i was irritated but i know mistakes happen so i went down there to look at it he showed me one bolt that snapped off so i agreed to the additional 3500.00 lets just get it fixed they said ok. a day later they call me and say we just snapped off 2 more bolts its going to be another 35000.00 ontop of everything else at this point im livid so i call the service manager and talk to him direct at that time he was somewhat proffesional i thought we were all on the same page i would be willing to pay 6500.00 he said he would call me monday the next thing you know they texted me and said its going to be 8500.00 i said no way so now im left with a work van they destroyed the whole engine on im going to have to have it towed out of there not running. on a posative note i have all calls and text messages recorded as well as all of our conversations so they will be liable for all court cost and lawyer fees ontop of destroying my engine. if anyone else is reading this and has or is going through this with this dealership please reach out to me 801-888-5474 or my lawyer. thanks . i hope this is just a case of a bad technition but ford should be much better especially when ive bought 6 ford transit vans and ive sent them tons of work for my fleet. read more

Took my 2014 Fusion in for diagnostics on Feb 10, 2017 at 10:00 am. Got it back on 2/14/17. There were several things that went wrong. I made the appointment online the night before via their webpage and received a confirmation email and text confirming the appointment. When I arrived the next morning I was told they don't use the online system and are usually 1-2 weeks out. But they would see if they could squeeze me in but would need my car all day. I told them the issue the car was having including the error code that we pulled that indicated a problem with the low pressure fuel sensor. She stated they would need to do a full diagnostic first for $59 before they can do anything. I agreed and left my car. At 1:00 I called to check on status since no one had called with an update. Vince confirmed it was the sensor and it would be $250 with the diagnostics. I told him to go ahead and do it, providing it can be completed today if not we can order the parts and I will bring it back later since I need it for work on Monday. Vince assured me he would have it done by 6 for the $250. They called back at 5:45 to say the mechanic broke the old sensor and damaged the fuel line removing the old part and now the car will not even run, they need to order additional parts and won't be done until Tuesday and will cost me $442 with the extra labor and parts. Vince was very professional and discounted some of the labor cost, but I don't feel I should have to pay for their mistakes. The original problem seems to be fixed, but I will not use them again or would feel good about recommending them to others. They called to do a survey the following day, I explained to them the situation and was told they would pass it along and make it right. As of today no one has called to apologize or even attempt to make it right in any way. I kinda feel like it was a bait and switch even though I understand things happen. I even offered to pay for the additional part but feel they should have paid for the labor since it was their mechanic who caused the damage. I despise this place with a burning passion! I felt the employees were very unprofessional. I had to get someone's attention before anyone would even acknowledge I was there and even then they just kept passing me off to someone else. I made an appointment to get a diagnostic on my car so I could take it somewhere else for repair. When I made the appointment, I was told there would be no charge. Then when I dropped off my car, the guy told be it would be $90 for the diagnosis. Um, excuse me? Then to make matters worse, I didn't hear anything from anyone for hours so I finally called at 5:30pm to check on the status. The guy seemed flustered and said he was just about to call me and that I could come pick up my car. I arrived at the dealership at 6:09pm to find all the doors locked, no one around, and my car just parked in front of the service bay. Luckily I found a sales employee outside the main building and I asked what was going on. He said the service department closes at 6:00pm (which no one bothered to tell me) and he would check if they had left my keys and instructions with anyone. NOPE! So I had to miss work today because I couldn't get my car back from a simple diagnostic that took 3 hours! read more

Awful, To make a long DETAILED story short. They didn't listen to what I specifically asked them to check on my vehicle,they ignored my thoughts on what was wrong and told me it was other things. By the time I was done getting my vehicle checked and "fixed" and $1,400 dollars later they THEN tell me "Oh yeah that other problem you mentioned to us DOES need fixed and it will be another $2,000 + dollars to fix!!!! The problem I told them to check was more important than the one they fixed first! I would have MUCH rather fixed the more pressing issue first and had it fixed! I have decided to take my vehicle elsewhere because of the non-sense I have gotten from them! The guy I have fixing the more Important issue is able to do it hundreds cheaper too! This place gave me NO interest on my more important and needed issue. read more

Ed wanted $1,600 when another local Ford dealer wanted $137. Ed wanted $290 for a part when another local Ford dealer charged me $82. Get a second opinion before agreeing to service work or buying parts at Ed Kenley and watch out for hidden fees. Shop towels, shop supplies and a new putter for Ed will ad quite a bit to your bill and they don't tell you about that stuff up front even if you ask! Sales process was great and then the Service Dept. ruined the whole thing. Avoid any Ford with the capless gas system unless you like getting stuck at gas stations unable to retrieve the fuel nozzle due to Ford's pathetic design which will not be covered under warranty. Gas station won't pay for it either and told me they see this with a lot of Ford vehicles. My sister rented a Ford recently and missed getting to a wedding after paying for a plane ticket because the Ford she rented would not release the fuel nozzle. A few weeks ago before going on a trip my car started making a noise, I stopped by Ed Kenley before leaving and they informed me the repair would not be covered under warranty because the car had 99k miles on it. I took the trip, on the way home it started making a grinding noise, when I pulled over the car would not move, the transmission locked up, I had to have it towed to the closest Ford dealership who diagnosed it as a complete transmission failure. The car now has 100,500 miles. Come to find out, because the car is Hybrid the factory warranty would have covered the transmission to 100k miles. If Ed Kenleys service department would have known about Fords factory hybrid warranty this issue would have been completely covered under warranty when I brought it in before my trip, but now because it is over mileage I am stuck with a $6200 repair bill. I went in this morning to see if there was anything they can do, they said there was nothing and sent me to Ford Customer service. If their service department knew about Ford warranties it would be covered! Strongly suggest avoiding this dealership. read more

EKF service department is not much to be desired. Worse yet, the asshole, randy, in EKF custom across the street from the Ford dealership. We took our truck into them for plow repairs. Because it failed in 5.5 weeks, I went in to get it warranted. What a complete and utter joke that was. They wouldn't stand behind heir products or workmanship. I'm also lodging a complaint with the BBB. Randy is such an asshole I'm surprised that ed kenley Ford would have that shit represent them as a whole. For as long as that punk works there, my money will be spent with the competition. They don't deserve any stars in my opinion. Randy needs to seek other employment. I am quite annoyed that they offer an online appointment request but it appears that no one checks it or maintains it. I went online a schedule a service. The program worked quite well, allowing me to out in a date and time that was open. I even received a confirmation email. When I showed up at the scheduled time, I was told that" oh, sorry, we don't really use that. Next time I would call" What?! My dealership for my second car has a very similar program and I love it because they actually use it. Take it down off your site Ed Kenley if you aren't using it. Other than that my purchasing experience was smooth and the guys at the quick lane are good. Just do t bother with the online scheduling. read more

Terrible service. I ordered a part that cost $150 and there were 2 similar type parts on the hydroboost that I was working on. They gave me the wrong one which only became obvious once I tried to put it on. In the process, the paper tag from ford came off (trying to put a part on, who leave the tags on?!). Now they won't accept it as a return because the tag is off, even though I have the receipt and wrong part that THEY gave me. Absolutely terrible customer service. Zero stars would be more accurate. He did tells me there a wait and they won't start working on my car tell 1 hour and my vehicle was finish in 1 hour and 45 minutes. This dealership is one disappointment after another. I bought a used vehicle here about 6 months ago and have already regretted the decision multiple times. After purchasing, I found that the window sticker had multiple inaccuracies that were a big deal to me, but I didn't realize it until after I had already purchased it and drove home. Then I tried coming in for service and the service team has always been really unpleasant to work with and aren't customer service oriented AT ALL. I had to make 3 trips back to the dealer to have a tire pressure sensor issue fixed. It was a simple fix but it took three trips because everybody kept brushing me off and pointing me to somebody else. Service pointed me to quick lube, quick lube pointed me to service. Service can't look at it if the warning light isn't on at the time of service. So many excuses!!! Now, I'm back for an oil change, and am sitting in the lobby for an hour while I wait for my turn, and the service advisor refuses to look at a molding that rattles without an appointment. It's probably a special order part that will be covered under warranty. This means that I will have to schedule an appointment, so that they can look at it and order the part, so that I can come back again 2 weeks later to get it installed. Biggest waste of time and worst customer service ever!!!! Never again will I buy from this dealership!!!!! read more

I went in to get 2 tires put on my 2004 civic. Simple, right? It was anything but simple. They broke the lug nut bolt off and wanted to charge me to fix it. I was told that it would be an additional $60. So I had already been there for 1 1/2 hours by then so I agreed to have it done. Then they came back to me and said that because my car is so small they couldn't fix it without taking the whole thing apart and if they did that then i would need all new parts because they would be ruined. When I asked yet again how much more it would be they said about $400. I was livid! Not only did they damage my car but them they wanted to charge me to fix their mistake. My husband spoke with them last night we will see if a manager calls us back. I'm not expecting anything will come of it. First time there with my recently purchased used 2006 F250 for oil and filter changes as well as tire rotation.

Yea, no way. I brought my car for service, and was immediately met with combative customer service. Jennifer in service started arguing with me at 8am, and I did not respond well. I came for a complaint that my clutch pedal was sticking to the floor when the car was hot, and that my transmission was leaking fluid. A few hours later they called, and stated that my brake system had fluid contamination and that the whole brake/clutch system needed to be replaced, and expressed that it was an extreme safety concern, that the brakes will fail and that none of it would be covered under warranty. Extremely upset, I brought my car to the last dealer whom was very confused how such an error could happen. They serviced my car and found that my dual mass flywheel was loose and applying pressure to my slave cylinder causing it to not function and leak. Replaced under warranty and no issues. Even provided a loaner car, invited me to look at the broken parts. Westland Ford earned a customer for life. Ed Kenley should not argue with customers, and actually look at the customer concern. I am very disappointed in them, takes many oil changes to make up for lost warranty business. No empathy. No offer of a loaner. I was visiting from Denver and my F350 had an odd scraping noise from the back. I took in to Ed Kenley Ford and explained that I needed to drive back to Denver later that evening. They rushed to check it out; order the part from Salt Lake City; and replaced a bad bearing (under warranty). Had me back on the road by 5pm that night! They always provide excellent service and workmanship. I would recommend this dealership for service and sales (I've even purchased a vehicle from them). read more

Said I'd never buy a Ford, my wife on the other hand has followed in her father's foot steps and has always liked her Fords and has purchased all three of her Fords from EKF. She finally talked me into looking at Fords. I wound up purchasing an F350 Lariat that is actually growing on me. My salesmen, Dean and Chase were outstanding, not at all the pushy salesmen I'm used to dealing with, I would most definitely, and already have, recommend them to family and friends. I also received a thank you call from Ms. Kenley that I thought was nice of her to take the time to do, I don't think you would have gotten the same call from other dealers in the area. Long story short, if you're looking for a good used car go to Ed Kenley Ford and talk to Dean and Chase, they'll treat you right, I really can't talk highly enough about them. read more

I have been very happy with Ed Kenley up until about a week ago...My wife noticed a rattling by the glove box. So I start inspecting...I am missing one glove box pivot pin and the hole for the other pivot pin is busted. So I start thinking and asking myself, "why/how would that be missing"?! After a few minutes I realized that I had Ed Kenley service department replace my cabin filter. So I look at the cabin filter door and one latch is busted. So, in charging me however much to replace my cabin filter, they bust my glove box pivot pin hole, forget to put on one of the pivot pins, and break the cabin filter door latch. If they cant follow simple procedures in replacing a cabin filter...how do I know they will follow more critical procedures?! Now, every time they do something I have to verify they didn't break anything... read more

I leased a Ford Explorer Sport from Ed Kelley on Main Street in Layton. It was new and fully loaded. It ran great for the first 300 miles and then I have had nothing but problems with it. On our first trip we were on our way to Moab and stopped for lunch in Provo. As soon as we were merging onto the highway, we heard a loud "Pop" and the engine wouldn't get out of first gear. We had to turn around and head home. We found out the turbo went out and had to have it fixed. No vacation!! Since then it's been the electronics, fan bearings, SD Card,etc. I've had this car in their shop at least 7 different occasions with different problems. I've tried speaking to our salesman (who is great),but his hands are tied. I've tried speaking to the owners wife, but got "sometimes this happens". I've tried to get another lease car, but they want me to pay the remaining payments on this "Lemon" before they let me out. I was so frustrated that I called Ford Customer Service to get results over 2 weeks ago and still no results. Firs said that each dealership is individually owned and a lot of the decision is based on them. They should stand behind their product and just take it at a loss on their taxes. I decided to post this review in hopes that it will help the next person who decides to do business with them. read more

I arrived on the lot looking for a specific car and price. I was approached by Russ. He did not give me the feeling of wanting to make a sale. I told him my parameters. The car I wanted was not on the lot and he did not appear to "want" to find that car for me at the price I saw on the internet. Additionally, I allowed the dealership to look at my car. They had it just long enough to run the VIN on it and see all the bells and whistles it had (even Russ mentioned that it was loaded). I had done my research so I knew what the "rough trade in" was and it was in great shape. The team at Ed Kenley Ford tried to low-ball me! I said "No" and left. I went to another dealership and got what I hoped for for my trade in (by $2500). I will not recommend this dealership to anyone. I will advocate for a different dealership every time. read more

Went to EKF to test drive a truck that I saw on KSL. I had been looking and researching for 3 months prior, so I knew exactly what I wanted and what they were going for. Was approached by George and took a test drive, then back to discuss what it would take to get price where I want it, told him I would talk to GM on Monday as I know him, he said that was fine. Spoke to Paul on Monday and came to an agreement on price, but wanted the windshield fixed, due to rock chips. Got vehicle and went home and noticed door lock on rear door was not working properly. The next morning, I went to start my vehicle to go to work and noticed a drip from the engine. Called Paul and he said bring it in. They looked at vehicle and determined that 3 hoses needed to be replaced and wanted me to go in half ($350). Of course I told them no and that anyone who was spending that much money on a truck, although it was used, would not agree to that. They fixed the hoses, door lock and glow plug. It took a little bit of back and forth, but eventually they fixed what needed to be done. I don't expect the vehicle to be perfect, but I do expect that it work properly. I bought my vehicle on a Monday and got it on a Friday after all the work was complete. The salesman George was great and throughout the experience kept good communication. ****This review applies ONLY to the new car dealership at Ed Kenley - we use QuickLane at Ed Kenley Ford all the time and they're beyond fantastic.**** Our old, tired minivan was once again at QuickLane, and as the mechanics had been warning me for some time that our poor Windstar was on its last legs, I decided to take a walk through the car lot while they tried to patch it together for me. If you've ever visited a dealership, you're no doubt familiar with the way a salesperson is right there to help you and sticks to you like glue, answers your questions, makes suggestions, and does what s/he can to get you into a new car. It can actually be a tad annoying as some salespeople can be very pushy - after all, this is their livelihood! Well, not at Ed Kenley Ford! After the almost non-stop annoyance of car repairs, I really wanted to go with something new this time. I walked around the new car lot for quite a while, checking out multiple vehicles that I thought would work for us - mainly the SUVs such as the Explorer and Expedition, but I also looked at the Flex. I thought it was a little odd that even after about 15 minutes, no one approached me, but I just assumed they must be really busy. I continued looking through the lot, checking the stickers on the vehicle windows trying to find the info I needed and looking through the windows trying to get a look at the cargo space available and so on, as I wasn't able to find anything about the cargo space listed on the stickers. I looked toward the building again, thinking I'd just go inside to see if someone could help me, and there was one of the salesmen standing out in front with his arms folded across his chest almost glaring at me. I thought he'd come over to help, but he just stood there. Wow! I walked around for another few minutes hoping to find one of the Transit vans as I thought one of those might work for us, and when I looked up again several minutes later, there was the same guy just standing there, still watching me - I don't think he had moved an inch since I first noticed him. Exasperated, I was going to walk over to ask for help, but just then, Quick Lane called on my cell phone to let me know my van was ready, so I didn't bother with the "sales" person . All I know is after that, I won't be buying anything off their new car lot. It was a very frustrating and actually almost creepy experience. Apparently they don't want/need my business. read more

My family has purchased vehicles from this dealership since it opened over 30 years ago. I have always felt like I could not go wrong with the excellent service and overall experience. The service department has always been very thorough and the employees are always kind and friendly. In response to a recent negative experience I have refused to do any survey, however the dealership relentlessly sends me email notifications asking about my recent experience. So here goes... Two years ago I purchased a used 2005 Ford Expedition, we were looking for a larger family vehicle. 10 months after the purchase the engine required a $3500 repair. We took the car to a mechanic who stated that it looked like the vehicle had never had an oil change. I understood that when you buy a used car, you get what you get. We did the repair. One month before the two year mark I took the vehicle back into Ed Kenley to look at an engine light. They informed me of a $3000 repair that needed to be done to the engine. I had them do the repair. Three days after I left the dealership with the new repair the engine stalled. I had the vehicle towed and was informed that the car needed a NEW engine, $7000 repair. I could not afford the repair and started looking for a new vehicle. I was told that due to the long-term relationship we had with the dealership I would get $4000, as a trade in. I still owed $9000 on the car. After looking for a few weeks I was then informed I would only get $2000. At this point my husband asked to speak with Brett the owner, who never called us back. We were not looking for something for free but we understand that this dealership has been in the community for several decades and we just wanted a fair shake. We easily would have continued to purchase vehicles from them in the future and let friends and family know that they were willing to right a wrong. Instead we towed the vehicle to our house and it sits in our driveway. I will never buy another vehicle from Ed Kenley and my service loyalty will go to another mechanic. read more

I had actually stopped going here with any of my vehicles after I was told that I was going to need an expensive part in order to pass inspection and after calling around for an estimate and deciding to have my inspection done somewhere else, I was glad that I stopped going here. It turned out that what I actually needed was an inexpensive hose that Kenley had just taped together in order to show that I needed the expensive part when I really didn't. This new place that I went to replaced the hose and voila, I passed inspection. But my husband and I needed to get oil changes and after being ripped off by a couple of auto places since leaving here and my needing a new headlight bulb as well, we decided to take it to Kenley's Quick Lane. I mean, what can go wrong with an oil change? Famous last words. They had changed things since I had last been there and none of the service advisors that I used to see are there anymore, but that isn't really a good thing. Anthony seems nice enough but he really pissed me off. I went to my tire place to get my tires balanced and rotated while my husband got his oil change. Then whoever got done first would go with the other one to drop off the car for their oil change while we got breakfast. I finished first and went down to wait with my husband. Not a half an hour after telling Anthony that I had just finished with my tire guy, he comes in from "talking" to the mechanic and tells me that I need new tires. My tire guy had told me that they were worn down, after all, they were a 40,000 mile tire and I had gone 67,000 miles since I bought them. But he said that they would still pass inspection until I could buy new ones. So after driving about a mile from there to Kenley, I now need new tires. Apparently Anthony doesn't have a very good memory since it had only been 30 minutes since I told him that I had come from a tire place. Now in front of 4 other customers, I am telling him how he is wrong. A little later he tries some BS story about how he guessed that his mechanic must have measured them wrong. I don't know what disturbs me more. Him trying to con me into getting new tires that I don't need or a mechanic who doesn't know how to measure them properly. Goes to prove that I was right in the first place when I stopped going here and I will never go here again!!! read more

We bought a car from their used car lot about a month later the check engine light came on. After taking it into an auto shop we find out it will be a $4,000 fix. I attempted to contact Ed Kenley to see about getting it fixed I was told I needed to talk to Shane. I tried calling him multiple times and left messages multiple times, but still have not heard back from him. We needed a car so we took it to Young Chevrolet to see if they could help us out. Come to find out the repair was going to be even more expensive than the first auto shop had anticipated. It was now quoted at a $5000 repair as they found even more damage. One of the people at Young Chevrolet even told us that it was possible their (Ed Kenley's) shop didn't find anything wrong when they looked it over before selling it to us, but that is was highly unlikely. Meaning they probably knew about it and failed to mention it to us. I will NEVER be purchasing a car from Ed Kenley again. On top of the above mentioned issues, after we purchased the car we kept finding things that needed to be fixed and you could tell someone had tried to hide them (such as paper wadded up in the console to keep the lid closed). They have to be one of the shadiest businesses I have ever dealt with. Thankfully Young Chevrolet helped us out by taking it in on a trade in and gave us way more than it was now worth. Morale of the story AVOID ED KENLEY FORD AT ALL COST. They will rip you off!!!!! read more

I took my car into the service department for recall on the inflator for my drivers side air bag. during the process of changing out the inflator they cracked the chrome on my emblem on the steering wheel. I immediately saw the issue and told the service manager what is wrong. He then brought out the mechanic and he got into my car without plastic on my seats and floor and looked at it. the service manager (Cody) then said to me that its not a new car and has 50,000 miles on it. This is clearly a workmanship issue and he just blew me off. All I want is for my car to be repaired properly and not damaged. Now everytime I get into my car I am reminded of the bad experience I have at this dealership. read more

I am furious with this dealership. I bought my 2013 F150 a year ago from them and made sure I used them for all of the truck maintenance. After a year my oil pressure light came on so I took it into the dealership immediately because it was under warranty. It took them two weeks to confirm it was the oil pump even after I had expressed I needed it done ASAP. Then I was told they needed to take apart the engine and that would take time. They ordered the part and I was promised my truck back the next week. I told them I was going out of town and needed the truck. By the next Wed (after 3 weeks) I got a call saying that they were not going to have the truck done by Friday liked they had promised and the only reason They gave me was that it is just taking more time to repair. They said it would be done Tuesday of the next week. That Monday (it has not been 4 weeks since they have had the truck) I get a call saying they went to put the oil pump in and found that it is a faulty part. So they have to order a new one and now the part is on back order. They said it will take another 5 days. I advised that I was going out of town and needed a truck. They said they would not provide me with a rental truck and could only give me their car from the parts department. They were unwilling to work with me and said there was nothing they could do. I am very upset with the unwillingness to work with me and now I am stuck without a needed truck for another week. I do not recommend this dealership for any of their services. My situation. I am an IT contractor and not knowing where I will be working at the end of my current contract and the time gap has taught me not to take out car loans. I was driving an older car (1993) and was rear ended. The vehicle was totaled. I had 5 days of a rental paid by insurance to get a new vehicle. My criteria was too simple for the elaborate search engines available on the internet. I just had a price point, budgeted saving for vehicle and all wheel drive, less than 100k miles. I was referred by Doug Laub, to Chase Walton in the certified used car area of the dealership. They made it very easy and picked the vehicle that fit my criteria. Took a pic of my license and gave me the keys. I only took a few minutes to know this was the vehicle wanted to buy. The salesman Dustin Neilson was awesome. Pulled the Car Fax, reviewed it with me. Then comes time for the Price negotiation. I asked Chase to give me one number that would include everything. Doc fees, tax, license, cost of the car, everything. He did that for me. It was a good price and we made a deal and did the paperwork. The entire process took about 90 minutes. None of the things that I used to dread about car buying experience happened.
