I discovered Edcora randomly when I needed my engagement ring resized. Another place I originally picked didn't want to do it because it can potentially harm the diamond placement (my ring had diamonds around the top half). In a panic, I found the next jewelry store near me that's opened and it was Edcora. Thank goodness they said yes, they'll resize my ring. When I went to pick it up, me and the store started talking about jade because my interest in jade has recently peaked. They educated me about all the different quality of jade and what cheap jade would look like, etc etc. I walked out of the store knowing that when I'm ready to buy my first jade piece, it's going to be at Edcora. A year later, I saw on their instagram they did custom jewelry. I had picture of a piece I saw on Net-a-porter a few years ago of a jade necklace I liked except it's 1) fake jade, 2) gold plated and it was going to be 3) $800. So heck no, I'm not going to pay that much for low quality jewelry. I sent Edcora a picture of the piece, if they can custom make a necklace inspired by it, and they said it's absolutely possible. I went in, worked with them, I must've spent 2 hours in the store working with them on what I want etc. Two weeks later, I got what I wanted. They tweaked some minor things for me and I was in love. I came across Edcora jewelry store while searching online for appraisals. My mother had given me a few pieces and I wanted to see if I could see how much they were worth and I wanted to eventually have them redesigned with an updated fashion. They were plain simple 80s style rings. Sits high on the ring which is annoying. The staff are so nice and accommodating, he basically went through all of my jewelry pieces and let me know the ones that I should not do anything to because it's antique and jewelers don't make jewelry that way anymore. Then with these two stones I told them what I was looking for such as something a little more updated where the stone sits lower on the ring and they came through with these gorgeous pieces! My husband and I got married 2 years ago during the height of COVID in a small backyard ceremony with a few close family members and friends. We never did the full sha-bang with exchanging rings, nor did we have a big, glamorous party as it just wasn't really our thing. You can't find any place nicer (aesthetically and people-wise) in Chinatown. Edcora is spacious and has a beautiful sleek layout compared to their competitors all over chinatown. My sister brought me here because I was desperate to change my engagement ring setting and was pretty much stuck in a gutter. My experience @ Edcora Jewelry was nice. The ambience & energy within the boutique is A+. The store is beautiful with a vast selection of unique jewelry. I found the staff to be welcoming and pleasant; NOT pushy like some other yelpers experienced. Angie (Angellina) Chen, my sales associate was very patient, attentive and kind, a true delight! The staff served green tea while Angie showed me several items that matched what I was looking for, within my price range. Good negotiating skills is a must here! I returned to the store the following day to have my ring sized. The downside I experienced from shopping here is, unlike shopping in NYC's Diamond District is, I don't believe Edcora has a jeweler on-site to permanently resize or reset rings. However, Devin was very helpful and applied a silicon solution as a temporary fix. It worked nicely. The upside to Edcora Jewelry is that the craftsmanship is unique; a lot of jewelry is exclusive to this store. I believe everything is made in Hong Kong. I'm looking forward to go back & purchasing a jade ring & other items. :-) * I knocked off 1 star because I found some pieces to be overpriced for the color/size. Also other stores I've shopped provide a written appraisal on diamond purchases and offer a written diamond upgrade program, equal to 100% of the original price toward the purchase of a new diamond. I have personally known Devin during his days when he owned J & L Game Store on Elizabeth Street which is down the block from this jewelry store. Eddie and Cora are the Owners hence "Edcora." Devin is the Sales Manager at Edcora. Most sales has to go through him in order to have it finalized in terms of pricing. Devin has a few certificates with the GIA in grading diamonds and stones and is working towards getting the ultimate GIA Graduate Gemologist certificate. He is very personable and is willing to work with you in terms of selection and pricing. Just make sure you have done your homework so you can get the best price possible. Please keep in mind they are a business and need to make some money (profit) and pay for their staff of 6 people. They do negotiate in pricing. Devin was very helpful in my most recent purchase with the assistance from Ann and Jimmy. Their approach in sales is honesty, integrity, quality and customer service satisfaction. Pressured sales does not really exist here, especially if you talk to Devin only. I would recommend purchasing and talking to Devin when you are in the store. If he is busy just wait for him. I need to start the review with the caveat that I haven't purchased anything from Edcora yet. This review is purely for the level of customer service I've received and the merchandise of the store. I need to purchase a wedding band and has been putting it off for awhile because jewelry stores intimidate me. I don't normally wear jewelry and don't really have any idea what I want to get. I found this place on Yelp and stopped in recently. First of all, the store is really nicely laid out, it has a different atmosphere in comparison to the numerous jewelry stores in Chinatown. A number of salesperson greeted me and I was helped by a woman named Ann. She was knowledgeable and asked me what type of styles I like. Once I showed her a few pictures that I saved in Pinterest, she was quick to show me a number of different rings that she thought I would like, even a few rings that I would've never picked out for myself, but fell in love with right away. Moreover, unlike a lot of places I've visited, she didn't try to push the most expensive products on me, she picked the styles that she thought I would like. Another great thing about Edcora was that there was no pressure to purchase right away. I need to bring back my fiance to help me make the ultimate decision, and they completely respected my decision. The only drawback is that they would not allow me to photograph the rings I've tried on, which is difficult for someone as indecisive as me, the lack of pictures to refer to make the decisions harder. However, I understand that they want to protect their custom designs, in fact, I saw a number of rings there that I haven't seen in other places, and I've been to a lot of jewelers lately. I never review places that I haven't made purchases in, however, this was one of the most pleasant experiences I've had while ring shopping, and I really want to commend them on that. read more

Upon entering they were really friendly and basically treat you like royalty. We went to other jewelry places in the Chinatown vicinity and definitely not all of them treat you with such care and respect! We specifically worked with Devin who went out of his way to accommodate our requests and budget. After our first visit, Devin called my fiance to make sure we kept his offer in mind. Some ppl might consider this pushy, but Devin seemed genuine. We had gone to another place in Queens that quoted us a certain price. Edcora's initial quote was above that so when we told them of the lower competition, they were willing to work with us on the price. The ring was custom made and was pretty much exactly what my fiance asked for. They even did a custom engraving for us. Overall, the quality of their work is good and their prices are very fair. While I didn't ultimately buy my ring from them, as I'm cheap as they come and was looking for a no-joke deal, I'm a rare exception. I can say that if I were buying a ring from an in store place, having shopped 47th street, and others in NYC including others that were highly recommended to me by friends, and family. I'd certainly consider doing business with them in the future as they're as up and up of any Jewelers I've met, which is hard to come by. I came here to design/order my engagement ring and wedding bands (yep, plural for me). The team made it incredibly easy as I didn't go in w a look already, but was still able to be in and out of the shop in 15 min after designing something custom for my engagement ring. They were also accommodating in using a family stone. I was incredibly pleased w the result but do know, they do take some time. We ordered in August and the ring wasn't ready until November, so plan ahead. The wedding bands were a bit more effort as I wanted something more intricate. Again, we used family stones, which helped bring down the price but added complexity to the design I wanted. Devin and his team worked w us on what was realistic and gave suggestions to improve the design which was great. Also really happy w the results. Let's just say I'm your typical Chinese shopper. I'll go and "have gone" to ever single jewelry shop from Canal street, Mott street to the Diamond District. I've dealt with all types of sales personal from the ... Hustler types- "You better buy it today, because it won't be here tomorrow." Pushovers - "Leave me your contact information, and I'll phone you as soon as I get something." Disregard types - I'll ask for x,y,z that's within my budget, and they'll tell/show me something completely different. I've heard it and experienced it all! Jason, my sales agent was amazing! He pulled out informative books and pictures to support his claims. Taught me how to evaluate my jewelry with a 100X magnifying glass- I love that thing! *Some jewelers will only give you a 10/20X magnifying glass. They stare at diamonds all day, they can evaluate a diamond on such a low magnification. We can't... If you don't know what to look for, it'll be like looking for a needle in a hay stack. At the end of the day, all sales agents are a little pushy. On a sale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, Jason's about a 7.5. In spite of that, he'll ensure you that you're completely informed about your jewelry. I've never felt buyer's remorse walking out of that store. Don't take my word for it. Go and experience it for yourself! Here are a few tips... 1. Walk in with the intention of shopping around, you never want to give them the impression that you're planning to buy on the spot.
