The Great Frog London is a legendary jewelry maker focused on in-house designed, hand-made, finely-crafted pieces, mostly in silver, but also in gold, and some with stones. I'd known about them for a long time and was eager to visit their Orchard Street shop with my son, who is a big fan of this great brand. Upon arrival you find it's a relatively small space, but the layout, the decor, and the vibe are very impactive, very impressive, very inviting. I was magnetically drawn into what felt like a treasure room that begged to be explored. And what you discover here is amazing. Amazing. Rings, bracelets, pendants, earrings, cufflinks, chains, wallet chains, pins and clothing - all variations on their distinctive, soulful, striking themes focused on rock 'n' roll, heavy metal, and biker subcultures. But anyone can wear these incredible works of art because they are absolutely beautifully designed and executed pieces. The prices seem fair to me given the obvious love and care poured into each item. Now what really made this experience special for me, in addition to being there with family, is the interaction with the staff. They are very nice and clearly very happy to have you in for a visit. They demonstrate genuine passion and pride for their store and for their jewelry, and when they bring a piece out of the showcase and let you examine it, their delight is on display. They have great stories and are happy to answer questions and give advice when asked. I have since been back to the store several times and purchased some beautiful rings for myself, and for my family. And each time, the staff here have shown that they want to achieve a perfect fit, both in terms of sizing and in terms of style. What a great store and what a great team. I have been buying my silver jewelry from TGF for years! My daughter recently moved to Brooklyn so I finally went to the actual store on Orchard. I was a little upset that the salesperson Michael, I had always dealt with had left. But the "New Michael" Riley was so great, she was extremely personable, helpful and knowledgeable of the business. The quality of their pieces is first rate and the selection can be overwhelming, but in a good way. I will be a customer for a long time to come! The decor and the layout of the shop was homey and relaxing. I received zero sales pressure which was fantastic. I hate being hassled. I was very indecisive, there were so many beautiful pieces to look at. The salesperson was very patient and gladly showed me every piece that I asked to look at. The Great Frog's signature jewelry are silver rings, though they also carry bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. Their jewelry is for folks that prefer sporting skulls instead of hearts. Every piece I looked at was a heavy, well designed piece of sterling silver. I decided on a snake ring, which the stock size they had in stock fit me perfectly. Normally, they size you for the ring you want, and then you either pick it up or they shop it to you. This way, it guarantees a perfect fit. A few days later, I called the shop and ordered my fiancé their Slayer ring and a skull bangle for myself. The customer service over the phone was just as awesome as it was when I was in the store. I absolutely knew I was going to love this place the moment I walked in! I like to think that my style is slightly girly with an edge, and I found a flower ring that illustrated exactly that. Oh. The GREAT FROG. I had a trip to NY planned, and this was on our list of must-see shops. I waited MONTHS to see this jewelry in person. If you haven't seen this stuff online, its worth even just a look. Unique, unusual, creative.. it doesn't seem like enough to describe the jewelry! And the QUALITY!! YES! Of course I bought something. I wear it on top of my wedding ring. The skull and wing ring sits under my diamond ring, creating a crown for the bad ass and beautifully detailed skull. Is it bad that I can't stop looking at it?! Service was impeccable. We were helped by a lovely girl who's own fingers were adorned in the fun pieces she sold. Stopped in here while in NYC on holiday. The staff here is very professional and maintains a very high regard for customers privacy. The pieces they have are all very high quality and expertly crafted. If you didn't know, they are the go to custom jewelry shop for many of todays biggest rock and roll bands. I recently bought their Iron Maiden Powerslave Eddie piece. I had it adjusted at my jewelers place in San Diego and he was impressed with the quality of the product. He commented that it was very well made and a very nice piece. While they are pricey it's due to the fact that they cater to the entertainment industry and the products that the super stars get come from here. I think I fell down some internet wormhole while I was looking for something and landed on their website. I was struck at how beautiful the craftsmanship of all their jewelry is and I immediately wanted a bunch of pieces. At first, I thought I would have to place an order with the London store but saw that there was a New York location. After deciding what I wanted, I practically ran there! My first purchase was the Medium Anatomical Skull ring. It was a little big but they sized it perfectly for me in no time at all. I also purchased the Black Woven Leather Bracelet, the Nevermore Pendant and a chain. A month later, I purchased the Coiled Snake ring, which they also resized for me. The Staff here are amazing! They're chill as hell, know their shit and are totally patient while you make up your mind. The store exudes maximum coolness and you kinda just want to hang out there. Michael and Cassie (hope I spelled her name right) are awesome. You're in good hands when they're helping you out. I don't ever write reviews for places, but this brand and it's employees deserve it. I don't know what the name of the employee was who was working but he was super helpful and knowledgeable. I needed the ring sized and since I was from out of town he offered to ship it to me. I will be going back to this store whenever I'm in Manhattan again as a returning customer. The Great Frog's silver rings and pendants I have ordered on the site have been great, but do not trust them with anything custom or important. I have been in love with the square garnet skull ring for years, so to propose my fiancé ordered it in white gold. We received yellow gold and when he let them know they said there was no mention of white, horrible customer service as it was in all the email correspondence. He had to send all the screen shots of the emails about the "white gold ring" which a paying customer should never have to do. "Jess" who was "helping" us was not sincerely sorry, accepted no responsibility, and only when we expressed in an email that we were receiving bad customer service and that they should be eager to fix it did she say they would remake the ring the way we ordered it and said she would personally see it was done right, but she did not do this at all. Instead of a custom ring made for me I received an obviously old white gold ring, remnants of old patina in the crevices instead freshly done and NOT EVEN IN THE CORRECT SIZE. The ring I received is warped, misaligned where the detail in the band meets under the stone, and the stone is either fractured or very included which I will have to pay a decent amount to have determined, in addition to having it sized down to the size we ordered. I don't mind an included stone, but you don't send an included stone in an ENGAGEMENT RING without asking the customer if that is their taste. I would love to have a newly made correct ring like we originally paid for, but at this point we fear sending the second ring back and receiving an even worse third ring or never receiving it at all. Thank you The Great Frog, for making the ring of my dreams our engagement nightmare. We had planned to order our wedding bands from The Great Frog in white gold as well, but after our horrible experience we will have to find new bands we love elsewhere. read more
