The happy hour deals on cocktails are really good, and the drinks were well-made -- we enjoyed the Cosmo and the Dirty martini. One thing to know: make a reservation, even for the bar! We went on a Friday and bar seats were in high demand, so this isn't necessarily a "just pop in and grab a stool" kind of happy hour. We thoroughly enjoyed all the food, but the filet sliders were the star of the show, we ended up ordering a second round. Our wagyu dumplings were a little cold so those were disappointing. From the moment we arrived, they made the night feel special with a beautifully decorated table, personalized birthday card, and complimentary dessert. Our server, Angela, was incredible. I went to the lounge for the Sushi special they had last month and it was soo good!!! The fish was fresh and the roll was huge. I really enjoyed it! The lychee martini was also amazing!! For dessert we got the lemon tart and it was phenomenal. I loved the homemade whip on top of it. Only thing I did not like is how slow the service is. I came twice last month and got the same sushi roll which I loved! However, both times the service was very slow which made it a bit unenjoyable. We just moved back to Tampa My husband made reservations and brought me to Eddie vs as a surprise for my birthday. We came on a Thursday night. We were promptly greeted by the valet when we arrived. We were seated in a booth that had a beautiful view of the kitchen which was really a delight. Our server Chance was very knowledgeable of the menu and was able to make recommendations. He was very friendly and we started with the Wagyu dumplings. They come with a little wasabi sauce and they were delicious. Then we had fresh oysters which were so fresh. For my main course I had a filet and the crab stuffed shrimp which were phenomenal. My husband had swordfish which was cooked to perfection. For our shareable sides we had the potatoes the street corn type thing and the crab fried rice. I was a little unsure when we ordered the fried rice but trusted our serves recommendation and honestly I cannot remember having a fried rice so delicious such an unexpected delight. Excellent happy hour menu. We were able to sit at the bar around 5 last minute but they also reserve the bar as well heads up. We were able to eat, drink and relax with no rush as long as we wrapped by 645. The Happy Hour Cosmo was refreshing and perfect amount of strength. We tried the crab cake and the wagyu sliders and they are delicious, next time I would pass on the dumplings, they were cold and rubbery. We ended up getting an extra round of sliders. The steaks are seasoned so well you do not need any of the accoutrements that they offer. We had the Wagyu dumplings for an appetizer The filling was perfect, super flavorful, but I wish the dumpling were a little thinner, not as heavy as they were. We had a Pinot Noir to accompany mistakes, which was perfect. Their wine list is excellent with costs that would make everybody happy. The best happy hour in the land of steakhouses. Packed to the max at the bar I recommend arriving very early. The food & drinks are better than at Flemings especially the happy hour. You cannot go wrong with any meal here. The wagyu sliders had a grilled buttered bun & I recommend getting it no more than medium done on the wagyu. I got the blue cheese sauce on the side as the flavor can be salty & overwhelming unless that's your jam. The au gratin potatoes are too die for, comes out piping hot. The bar appeared to lack staffing. You have to wave for help as they were slammed with a full dining room & full bar on a Monday very close to the Holidays. Appeared to be lots of Holiday parties for a casual Monday... house was packed to the max. Felt like a Friday of Saturday night in there. Parking is very scarce, luckily it's free valet. read more

The staff has changed over time, and the level of service can vary from visit to visit. When the food arrives fresh and hot, everything is excellent and you can look forward to a great night. I have to say, the food and service were outstanding. The steaks were cooked perfectly, and there was a great selection of appetizers and sides. Unfortunately, the parking situation completely overshadowed the experience. There is no self-parking, and sharing valet service with the restaurant next door creates total chaos. When I arrived, there was a long valet line. After finally reaching the front, I was told I needed to get in a different line for Eddie V's. I then waited another 25 minutes before a valet finally gave me a ticket and took my keys. Leaving after dinner was just as frustrating. The two valets working seemed completely overwhelmed, with cars backed up everywhere. I waited another 20 minutes just to get my car. The restaurant itself is excellent, but the parking experience is so poorly managed that I won't be back until it's addressed. read more

Firstly, our server, Kristine, was an angel. Absolutely was absolutely blessed with how sweet and attentive she was and I hope that I can get her as my server the next time I dine there. My friends and I came in for a birthday dinner and we ordered so many things. Nothing disappointed us and we really did enjoy everything we ordered. Our stand outs items were the BIG EDDIE SEAFOOD TOWER, HONG KONG SEA BASS, BONE-IN RIBEYE, CRAB STUFFED SHRIMP and CRAB CAKE. We also ordered a handful of sides and even those were tasty!  Not only was the food delicious, but everyone at the table ordered a GOLDEN HOUR cocktail because it was so tasty. If you're not in the mood for wine, definitely try that drink out. Overall, I enjoyed my first Eddie V's experience, and my friends (returning patrons) love dining here. We have been going to Eddie V's for over 15 years since I retired from the military and moved here to Tampa. They were always one of our favorite restaurants if not our favorite restaurant to go to for dining Inn or taking out. We live about an hour away (now currently in Tampa traffic) and we placed a very large order for friends visiting that my wife picked up from the restaurant. They neglected to include the crab fried rice which we paid for. I had to call several times to speak to someone I was placed on hold for almost 10 minutes, they did not offer any utensils assisting her in checking the order when she picked it up etc. The entire experience was just unacceptable and if this is the direction that Eddie V is going, we will definitely find another restaurant to make our favorite in the Tampa Bay area. They offered to refund the price of the rice, but that still does not make up for the fact that we had several guests expecting to try it because I've been bragging about how exceptional it was. Again to spend several hundred dollars on food and thousands of dollars over the years that we've been patronizing the restaurant, this was an unacceptable way to be treated and I hope they will do better moving forward or we will definitely take our business elsewhere. read more

Dessert * Ended with the signature Bananas Foster butter cake. The flame presentation is the highlight and always draws attention. Environment & Misc. * Not a quiet environment -- lively, but manageable. * The restroom was messy, which was disappointing and affected the overall impression. Came here again, as I loved this spot so much the last time that I decided to celebrate our anniversary here again. However, this time I was a bit disappointed. Starting out, we had reserved a table in the dining area, and we were sat inside some room, which we were not fond of because it did not feel as if we were a part of the restaurant. The Maverick is a great drink and should be put back on the menu ! To start with food we ordered the lobster bisque and wedge salad. Both were good, although I wish the bisque had included more lobster and not just the claws. For our entrees we both got the rib eye, truffle Mac, and Brussels sprouts. My bra rib eye was perfect. Mine looked perfect, seasoned well, it was the perfect cut with a great size cap on it, but sadly was overcooked and the texture inside was too dry. Our waitress was sweet about it and took it back and had them re- cook me another. Unfortunately the next steak that came out was not seasoned well and was not as great of a cut and was undercooked. I did not want to send back another steak so I asked for salt... still , disappointed for a $70+ steak, should come out perfect every time for that price. To make up for it she gave us a dessert of our choice. I chose the Creme brûlée. We're not normally desert people but I didn't want to reject her effort, it was nice of her. Would I come back here, of course, but would I say this is my favorite steak house , probably not ... the consistency just wasn't there for me with the rib-eye that I was very much looking forward to. read more

Had dinner there last night. My second visit this year The kitchen did a fantastic job with our food and the presentation was beautiful. The wait staff did an outstanding job and looked to work as a team. The only issue that we had was with lack of enforcement of the dress code. When you spend that kind of money for a meal you would expect the clientele to be dressed accordingly. Baseball caps that are not removed during dinner, Cargo Shorts and T-shirts just take away from the experience when you are in a High-Class restaurant. They decorate the table, give you a signed card and a dessert sampler. On this visit we were celebrating my girlfriend's birthday. We started with cocktails and I ordered the Golden Hour for my cocktail. It was delicious. For an appetizer I ordered the Lobster Bisque which is delicious and had a lovely presentation by the server. For dinner I ordered the Stuffed Shrimp which were absolutely delicious. For sides we shared the Crab Fried Rice and the most delicious, Honey Sriracha Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Cashews I've ever eaten. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dinner.
