Talk about views! This place was such a vibe! Perfect views of the sound. Nice music, pretty umbrellas, and clean, warm sand between your toes while dining! Can't ask for a better lunch spot. Truly vacation vibes! The service was a bit slow and our drinks and food took a bit to come out...our toddler was getting irritated but, we managed to keep him engaged and entertained with bowls of ice. When the food finally came, everything was soooo good! Our son even tried fried dogfish bites, and he ate it all! The oysters were fresh, the grilled asparagus were delicious, the grilled squid had a nice kick and was bbq'd perfectly, and the grilled bass with fresh herbs and olive oil was one of the simplest, but best fish dishes I've ever tried. This place knows how to use simple, fresh, high quality ingredients! Everything was amazing. Would definitely recommend for a beachfront lunch out on the North Fork! read more

We wanted dinner by the water and this place blew our expectations out of the water (literally)! The first time we went with a large group. We sat at the bar and watched them cook. Everything was so fresh! We shared two tuna steaks. Delicious. And the staff was super friendly and attentive. We were so impressed we had to return. My boyfriend and I didn't have reservations but Laila the hostess worked something out and got us seated much sooner than we had expected! She was so sweet and quite knowledgeable about the menu! Once again the food was impeccable. We got the tuna crudo, lamb chops, grilled asparagus and seafood over fire with was the striped bass. So delicious. I highly recommend this place. We were just there for libations so we were more than happy to grab and go down to the Adirondack chairs over looking the harbor. The day was perfect, water calm, drinks cold. Run, do not walk to Eddie's! This is hard to get a reservation to so do so in advance if you like your toes in the sand and belly happy! What a beautiful place with great staff and delicious food. My favorite here was the fried oyster roll and taking a heap of pictures by the water. It makes me curious to stay here at the motel. It says temporarily closed so hopefully this is just for the season. I can't wait to go back next summer. read more

We started with dozens and dozens of raw oysters. Highly rec. We also loved the grilled summer mushrooms with maitake vinegar, rosemary, and whipped tahini (YURRRRM, we ordered two plates), margherita 'zas, and lamb skewers. Def get the spicy marg (see pic!) Restaurants on the North Fork of Long Island have a great deal in common. Most are closed on Tuesday. Most serve similar local food items... as if Branzino, a Mediterranean Sea Trout is local... as if hot house tomatoes from New Jersey are local etc. etc. etc. Ugh. Most serve mediocre to bad food. Most lack management. Most have absolutely terrible amateurish service. Most are overpriced. Most have horrible ambiance. Basically most are just not worth the time and money spent. Eddie's, which is part of the Silver Sands compound, is not much different. But it has so much potential! For me, Eddie's is a poor North Fork copy of Sunset Beach on Shelter Island. It, in fact, faces Sunset Beach across the bay. But so what. While SB faces the sunset, Eddie's faces SB. Not ideal. Anyway...my wife and I dined at Eddie's this past weekend. We made a reservation via resy. We showed up and since signage was minimal we entered the hotel and not the restaurant. The hotel lobby was completely empty with no one even at the front desk. We wandered around but couldn't find the restaurant. That was because the restaurant is physically separate from the hotel. Eventually we found someone, a hotel guest, and were told where to go. Apparently we mistakenly made a left at the entrance to the compound when we should have made a right. We corrected our mistake and came upon a cabana kind of host stand in front of a parking lot. The boy manning the station told us the lot was full and we'd have to park our car by the hotel and walk back to the restaurant. Well, not on your life . I proceeded to the restaurants parking lot and easily found a space. Lesson, don't have a child do a man's job. After exiting our car we proceeded to the restaurant but unfortunately entered thru the exit. Dumb us. No one greeted us cause we were in the wrong place again. Eventually a hostess approached us. We told her that we had a reservation under my wife's name. She checked her iPad and proceeded to seat us at the bar. All the while asking us if we wanted sparkling or flat bottled water. Well, again not on your life. We made a reservation for a table to have dinner not for the bar to have drinks. Meanwhile the restaurant was half full. Plenty of tables. After a few back and forths we were granted a small table. FYI the outdoor dinning room is on a very nice sand beach. Quickly, we were greeted at the table by a young, friendly, attractive female with some discreet tattoos on her arms and a pierced tongue. By her accent I knew immediately she was from Europe and here on a J1 visa. She politely told us she was from the Baltic region of Europe and only arrived a few days ago. She was super excited to be here and gushed about how most of the staff were from the same region and were good friends. In all she was lovely but certainly not a seasoned server. Her steps of service were lacking. We ordered our dinner but she never removed the menus. She never poured our bottled water. She never checked back to see if we wanted a second glass of wine. We certainly did but never had a chance. Loss of revenue team Eddie's! I don't blame our server, I blame management for not training this person! Anyway the wine by the glass came in tumblers. Whack! And the wines were not very good. We ordered grilled octopus which though local to the waters of LI is rarely seen and most likely not fished. We had grilled asparagus which was spicy and quite good except for the gobs of cheese topping the vegetables. We also had a lettuce salad which was quite good again except for the gobs of cheese topping the salad. I ordered Monk fish and my wife ordered the fish over fire...I think that is what it is called. My Monk fish was more deep fry batter than fish and again topped with cheese or a reasonable facsimile. Huh? More cheese? My wife's fish was absurd. It was a Black Sea Bass. Tiny. And only half of the fish ( Granted the menu did not say whole fish). It was sliced down the middle so that two orders would come from one fish. My wife received the left side of the fish. It cost 44 bucks. I mean for 44 bucks give the whole fish! It is Black Sea Bass, an inexpensive local fish. Generosity will get you customers. It is called HOSPITALITY. And the timing was off. My wife received her fish 5 minutes before I received mine. Again, anyway. Train your staff! Cook simple tasty delicious food. And try not to rip off the customers. And you will succeed! read more

Waitress inattentive, didn't check to see if we wanted anything additional until she came back to report the kitchen was almost closing to prep for dinner. I hesitate to post this review because it is already hard to get a reservation but credit where credit is due. Eddie's is a slice of heaven - being on the beach while eating amazing food and drink. You might think a restaurant with views like this would skimp on the quality of the food but you would be wrong. We have been going since it opened and it is consistently excellent. The fish over fire is an amazing dish, ditto the grilled vegetables. We had the tuna tartare special and it was possibly the best tartare I have had! read more

Dined with our toes in the sand (literally). Liked the unique menu selection and thoroughly enjoyed the grilled meats and octopus. The sleeper was the bean salad! Wow. Love the fact the Food and Beverage Director (Bill) checked in with us and spent time explaining how the plates were prepared. Great atmosphere and the outdoor bar built around an old oak tree look like fun as well. One of the more memorable meals I've had on the North Fork! Gorgeous beachfront dining with an outstanding view of the Peconic Bay creates the perfect atmosphere to enjoy the amazing food! The pizzas are delicious with proper crust made from fermented dough. The perfect combination of chewy and a little char. I also highly suggest you don't skip out on the hot dog, as it is well worth the $12 charge. Very happy our awesome server suggested it! Really solid cocktail program too with nicely balanced drinks at an affordable price. I can't recommend this place enough and am already looking forward to my next meal here! read more

I was so pleasantly surprised by this place! The atmosphere here was so cute and the service was amazing. We were offered blankets and it was so cozy there. This is a perfect place to order a bunch of food and split it with the table, which is exactly what we did. We got two pizzas, a fish dish and two different salads and it was the perfect dinner after a day at the wineries. Food was mid. Some dishes were okay, but others lacked flavor entirely. Half the menu was 'out of stock' and they had a small menu to begin with. Portion sizes were tiny. Service was horrible. Server misled us a few times. A bunch of high schoolers working there who don't know how to effectively run this business. Bartender inside was rude and slow. Drinks were awful. Only saving grace was ambiance otherwise this is a rare flop of a 1 star establishment. Hoping they figure it out or they won't last long. Overall overpriced for what you get. read more

With my feet in the sand, a charming view across the bay, and brights yellow umbrellas fluttering in the breeze, I might have thought I was in Saint Tropez (but without the craziness)! The local food reminded me that I was on the North Fork of Long Island: perfect oysters harvested from 200 feet away, clam pizza, and striped bass ceviche. To say that spot is a jewel by the sea would be a major understatement. We dropped in for lunch and were blown away by how fantastic the food was. Mussels Escabeche were unbelievably delicious, lightly poached and presented with finely chopped white onion etc. Fresh Oysters harvested just a few feet away that were perhaps the best I've ever had. Striped Bass Ceviche was bursting with unique flavors and served in a coconut... all in all A++. The veggie and hummus dip was utterly unique with fennel, radishes, carrots etc and accompanied by a green goddess dipping sauce that was elegant and scrumptious. Crazy Good... just go. WOW! Came here on a whim and found two bar seats left on a busy summer Thursday. Ambiance is a 10! Food is an 11/10! Not usually a mussel girl, but...The mussels escabeche were the best single bite of the night. (Maybe the summer?)
