Tye Village Grille is exactly what I expected! The ambience reminds me of a vintage 50's dinner! The Service was great and the food came out hot and fast!

Meh... unfortunately, nothing that would make me go way back for. However, the service was kind and what you would expect from a neighborhood diner. I hear the Iced Tea was strong... that came from my niece who had one. Respectfully Reviewed.

Cute 50's themed diner in the heart of Claremont. Service is friendly and efficient. Menu consists of typical American diner food. I got the chicken Philly with fries, and my friend got a tuna melt with fries. Food came out pretty quickly. The food was fine, my chicken Philly was a bit on the dry side and I tried my friend's tuna melt, it was good but more fishy than I'm used to and could have used a bit more mayo. Both sandwiches could have used more seasoning (salt/pepper). Know that the layout of the restaurant is probably grandfathered in to their original design. The entire interior of the restaurant is not ADA accessible. Restrooms are TIGHT and booth seating is also very tight to sit in - I'm 5'2" and I had difficulty getting in and out of my seat. Wheelchair users should plan to sit at one of the tables outside on the sidewalk.

Had a relaxed brunch at Village Grille in Claremont and liked it more than I expected. It's a classic 1950s-style diner with cool decor, a friendly vibe and good portions of hearty American comfort food -- think fluffy omelettes, burgers, and chili cheese fries. The staff were welcoming and kept the coffee coming, which made it easy to linger and chat without feeling rushed. Not fancy, but it's a solid casual spot for breakfast or lunch in the Village.

These servers are super busy all the time .They are well aware you are seated and asking if you're ready or need more time for us slower people. Great vibes and decor is so old dinner fashion. Love this place. Food is always great and service is quick . In area stop on in for breakfast, lunch or an early dinner. Recommend a call for a party of 4-6 as place gets busy at times.

Great ambiance feels and looks like 1950s diners . Food was ok. Home style fries was overcooked and raw in same time for me at least but rest was ok. Service was amazing. 6 stars for service. She was friendly and working above and beyond to get our order served.

This place is exactly what it says. It's gonna be 50 style diner with all the basic breakfast items. They even show that with the seating as if people are still built like they were in the 50s. If you are a table of two you'll have room, but if it's a table of four good luck, it will be a very tight squeeze. Food was good again just think of a mom and pop breakfast spot. I'm glad I checked it out.

    The Cheeseburger was delicious!

I met a friend here for lunch. We were sat outside, which was perfect. Our waitress was very attentive and professional. The Rueben and fries were delicious. My guest ordered a cheeseburger and salad, which he said were very good, as well. The prices are a bit high, but that can be said about most places, these days. I highly recommend this place.

Service and food was amazing! Veggie omelet was perfect and also the blue berry pancakes are the best ever. Nice cozy dinner, elevated looking and overall nice place to eat with your favorite people.

Such a cute 50's diner! It's so homey and customer service is always super nice! You can't go wrong ordering any comfort food from here! This time I ordered the eggs Benedict! Love coming here, especially for the nostalgic feeling and of course the service!

This is your normal Diner. Very similar to Russel's in Pasadena. The food was very good. They were a little skimpy on jelly. Portions were big. Service was good and the food came out fast considering how busy they were. I think they should increase prices a bit.

Chill and friendly American joint in the Claremont Village area. They open at good hours with both Breakfast and Lunch options. Servers were attentive and nice, and it was clear that the locals loved them! Their French Toast was very nicely flavored and textured, and I liked the home-made taste of the omelette and fries. It is a pretty typical American diner though - and I wouldn't say it stands out too much aside from good service

The food is always fresh and the service is on point every time. There may be await depending on the time but it's worth it! Keep up the good work

My husband ordered the ribeye and loved every single bite. It was cooked just right and full of flavor. The only issues with the food was the hash browns, which were completely unseasoned and not fully cooked. Also, the lobster omelette is tasty but you won't find much lobster in it. Prices are typical prices, but their portions are very generous compared to the price. I also like how large the dining area is and that there is decent space between tables. Not cramped like a lot of breakfast spots, which made it a more pleasant experience. Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5

Okay, I want to make it clear that I am not her to frivolously review a neighborhood restaurant…read more Small businesses are the backbone of our country, specially important and black, woman and minority owned. So here's my good and not so good. Good: the service here is amazing, friendly attentive and I watched every dine in customer receive extraordinary care. The portion sizes are huge and the whole restaurant felt like you were in someone's own kitchen on a weekend morning with all of the right smells in the air for a great brunch. Here's the not so good: it took 4 minutes shy of an hour to get lunch for 2 (2 order of chicken tenders, side of red beans and rice and an order of hush puppies ) prepared. Although the booths were full, most of the tables had their food, so it didn't appear to be a lot of tickets stacked up. When my order was finally delivered, and I took the10 minute drive back home, I opened the bag to fund 3 brown paper bags, wet, soggy and soaking in grease. Because the food hadn't been allowed to cool a bit and it was placed in a plastic bag with no way to vent out steam, every item was soggy and falling apart. The fries were wet and soggy, the chicken had all of the dry coat falling off and most the seasoning was pulled off of the batter that was left because of the water and steam. Additionally, the red beans and rice were so wet, they were almost soup. One of the orders had potato salad as a side, but to received overcooked soggy fries instead. The hush puppies were way over cooked, they had passed the golden brown cook level and were a black brown color and were sort of flavorless and really soggy from the heat of the plastic bag. I'm sure that most of this could have been avoided if I hadn't placed a to go order. But I'm leaving this review so that when you order from this little gem, you consider dining in or asking for the foot with plenty of lead time so that they don't rush, improperly pack the food for transit (let it cool off a bit) and have the time to make sure the order is correct, and cooked to a standard that best represents the business. Pomona needs Day-Days as a locally owned, black owned soul food restaurant. Switching from plastic to paper bags and giving the food time to vent will go a long way with quality for the customer. In the end the food tasked good, I'm sure was prepared with love, but fell flat on the delivery. All of that said, patronize this restaurant!!!!

There used to be 9 breakfast food options that are no longer available. There were 5 rice bowl options that have been reduced to 2, and the 5 sandwich options are now down to 3. I'm sure for operation costs, they've had to cut down and just sell their top sellers? That's what I'm assuming because why else would you eliminate 75% of your menu? I was hoping to get some of the breakfast options for my kids and a few of the rice bowls, but since breakfast was no longer available, and I didn't really have many rice options, I just picked up the Korean bowl. I came home and ate the bowl and it was awful. The chicken was so so dry, it honestly tasted like they had gotten a leftover piece and threw it in the fryer again to warm it up. I'm so sad because I loved this place so much. But, with such a limited menu (we mainly came because my kids enjoyed the breakfast menu) and the food being so bad now, I don't think I'll be back.
