Hats off to Eden. Really well done at the bar and the kitchen. They work hard to be unique and provide a unique experience. Big things ahead for Eden. We had the mushroom toast to start. WOW. Lots of flavor and textures going on but I think that is a theme throughout. My wife and I shared the cheese tortellini, beet salad and mussels. WOW WOW & WOW. We matched the dishes with unique cocktails. The Sleeper was a great start. The Island Supply went well and stood up well with the acid in the salad and mussels. Finished with the Cacao and Cabernet which was nice with the Chocolate Pot de Crème. Staff was great - and "spoiler alert" the sommelier behind the bar is a genius. Yes there are rough edges that they will improve with time. Coming out of Covid is hard and I expect cash flow with success will fix them. I got the feeling that there is a bit of perfectionism behind the curtain that future patrons will get the benefit from. Eden is my new favorite restaurant in Syracuse! First off, the dining room feels homey, but modern. The seating area gets extra heat from the open flames in the back. The drinks are amazing and they even have very delicious zero proof cocktails. They also have outside seating where they are growing some fresh herbs. The food is definitely the star! The menu is unique, fresh, and changes based on what is available at local markets. Even the veggies served on the sides of the dishes are cooked and seasoned to perfection. The quail, steak, and fish (lubina) were the best, but everything was great. I have a dairy allergy and they were also great about accommodating to my needs. read more

This was my very first time to Eden! I absolutely loved the place!! The decor was amazing, the smell of the wood-fire cooking was pleasant, and the atmosphere felt perfect! Definitely a great date place! My partner and I ordered some delicious cocktails. She got the spiced plum drink and I got the cranberry one! Both were spot on. We ordered one small plate and one large plate each. Let me tell you! Those were not small plates!! We got the octopus dish and the head cheese with pate dish. Both were quite large but hey, both tasted amazing!!! Definitely would reorder both next time! For the large dishes, she got the porchetta dish and I got the tortellini dish. Well what can I say?? Spot on, flavorful, and definitely worth it! I would recommend that if you get two large plates, stick to one small plate to share! Finally, because we didn't want to stop there, we went all in and got a dessert to share. We ended up with a sandwich ice cream crumble! I loved the sandwich crumble while my partner loved the chocolate on the side! Nonetheless, the whole dessert wasn't too sweet, the right size, and had some interesting flavors! My girlfriend and I went to Eden for dinner tonight and we both thought it was fantastic. The staff is extremely friendly, attentive and do a great job. They all work together like a well oiled machine and did not miss out on anything. For the food, it was delicious!! Their farm to table niche is on point. The freshness of their vegetables, chicken, steak and scallops were robust and extremely flavorful. You're tasting a meals like it was harvested and sent directly from the farm earlier in the day. The farm to table theme here is legit! Their menu pretty much changes daily depending on the ingredients sourced. Loved my Quail appetizer, you could taste the smoke from their grill in the squash purée. My modified squid entree brought it home! I swapped the squid ink linguini with their amber roasted carrots. Loved the roasted and smoked flavor 2nd Visit: rocked the celery root purée with chorizo as the app and then the Hanger Steak over roasted carrots for my entree. A very gourmet spot for Syracuse. They serve NY spirits and an extensive wine list. The drinks are quite fancy and well made. They offer a very limited menu with a few small plate and large plate options. We opted for mussels and the strip steak. Both were amazing. I do appreciate that the bartender asked about any allergies as their menu is a bit difficult to comprehend. Had a lovely experience at Eden last night. The service in particular stood out. James was our server and he was so friendly, fun, and upbeat. The menu is small and doesn't need much explaining, but he and the rest of the staff were very knowledgeable about the food. If you've every been to Tailor and the Cook in Utica, this restaurant is giving off the same kind of vibes. Come to find out, the head chef at Eden used to work there. You can certainly see how Eden was influenced by T&TC, from the food to the interior decoration. The cocktails were exceptional. I had the gimlet, okay, more than one gimlet. The bartender is passionate about gin and his job overall, and you can tell. It was not too sweet and hit all the right notes. Every cocktail on their list looked amazing. Our party sampled all of the four entrees. The mussels in particular stood out. The ravioli was delightful. Minus one star for a few reasons: -I wish they had more outdoor seating. It's not totally within their control since Maxwell's takes up a lot of the space but there was room for a few more tables out there. -You need a credit card to hold the reservation and it's a $25 per person charge if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice. I made my reservation about five hours before eating there, and this policy seems very punitive. What if I had needed to cancel last minute? I would have automatically been out $100. -No coffee, kind of a bummer if you're looking for that to wind down the dinner. You can't even get an espresso martini. Set up a four pot coffee maker in the corner, there is room! -The restaurant knew we were there to celebrate a birthday. Open Table also asks if you're there for an occasion. I was surprised that knowing that, they didn't comp my friend a drink, or dessert, or an app or something. Why bother asking if the point isn't to celebrate or do something kind for the person eating there? -As other reviewers mentioned, only NYS wines available. This drives me crazy. Source local all you want, but you cannot find a dupe for every wine variety. Nor should you want to, when out of state/country vineyards just do it better. read more

Wow was this place great! The service was impeccable. The food was inspired. The chef sent us complimentary caviar which was intoxicatingly delicious. Every little detail was perfect here. The menu was select but deciding what to eat was quite a challenge. In the end, my wife chose a steak entree and I had a chicken entree. We ended up swapping meals and we both walked away completely satisfied. I would say this was definitely one of my top 5 dining experiences in my life and I'm a "foody." I love trying new things but I know that if I ever get back to Syracuse, even for just one day, I'll be sure to make this part of the trip. read more

The aroma of the open fire grill with a hint of burnt thyme pleasantly informs you that you have arrived. We started at the bar where the bartender/sommelier did well in translating our wine preferences into the ALL NY State wine selection list. His expertise got us to a very suitable choice. We were pleased by the tightness of the menu. 4 starters, 4 entrees and 2 desserts. We started with the grilled halloumi, summer squash, zucchini and fresh tomato. This dish informed us of how subtle and fragrant the right amount of open flame can be. We followed with the mushroom toast. A visually stunning umami bomb of mixed grilled mushrooms on single side toasted French bread rounds with a slice of bacon. For the main course, we ordered the hand rolled whole wheat cavatelli with a goat cheese mousse made for a break from everything smokey. The steak was a bit over-seasoned with salt. Still, the grilling method left it tender and flame kissed. This is not a charred steak, it seems to be flamed at a distance from the flame that the steak picks up the open flame but does not have any carbon residue. The fat edge rendered instead of burnt. Recently tried Eden per a recommendation from a friend and I was absolutely blown away in every capacity! The ambiance, quality of the food, and service was incredible. Most of the food was tasty and the service from the host and bartender was superb but the waitress and busser both rushed us - considering we at the bar and ordered two rounds and an appetizer while waiting for my table - common courtesy would warrant some patience as we decided what entre to order. Instead the waitress asked us if we could get our order in - (reminder we had to wait 30 min. for our table) when my husband asked if we needed to hurry her response was a shrugged should and a "kinda" face. Umm I'm sorry - am I getting a discount on this meal? Then the busser threw our orders on the tables with out asking who gets what and ran. She got that wrong and gave us the wrong dishes. Overall the meal felt rushed and def made it less enjoyable to an extent. As far as the cocktails were considered- very well recommended based on what we drink and the hostess did everything in his power to get us to a table. The Swedish meatballs were sub par but the sauce and bread more than made up for it. My steak was cooked very well but I would say the sea bass was my fav meal. Overall the meal was very good but the service was not good enough to want to go back. I can pay premium at a restaurant where I will not be rushed. read more

Came here in a whim for a last minute date-night and came away saying that it was exactly what we were hoping for. Eden has a cozy and hip atmosphere and all of the staff were very friendly. We were able to be seated at the bar without any reservation or wait on a Saturday evening. The cocktail choices were all fun and unique, and Eden also has pretty extensive wine and beer menus as well. The food was exceptional. We split two appetizers and a main course, which was enough food for two people. For starters, we had the goat cheese salad and grilled octopus and for the main course we ordered the parsnip ravioli. The prices are slightly above what we normally pay for a dinner in Syracuse, but the quality was also above, so it was definitely worth it! We went with a group so we could basically try the entire menu (which is seasonal and small). Didn't have a bad bite. The mushroom toast appetizer was perfect--mushrooms cooked expertly and well seasoned and with a nice smokiness. The halibut was my favorite entree cause of the acidity of the broth and the smokiness on the roasted cauliflower. The steak I tried was great too--spot on seasoning and perfect mid-rare as requested. The two desserts were both excellent too. If you live in Syracuse, make a reservation. You have to try this hidden gem! All dishes are prepared over an open wood fire and are presented with a vibe that exactly fits the dish itself. We have the mushroom toast and octopus appetizers. Octopus can be like eating a rubber eraser if not properly done. This one was grilled to perfection. Soft and tender, served with olives, capers and braised garlic. It was better than some of the octopus I have had in Spain. We followed up with the steak and the chicken, both perfectly prepared with the perfect sauce (steak chimichrri, chicken orange). The service is great, the waiters are fun and clearly believe in what they do. There is no question, we will be back many times. read more

Got a babysitter and had a no kid dinner here with another couple. I'm glad I did. We started with drinks. I chose a Pilsner beer made by Steuben and it was delicious. The 2 girls had some signature cocktails and they loved them. Both couples started with the burrata(a soft Italian cheese. The cheese was served with grilled squash, tomatoes and a pesto sauce. The flavor was great. My wife's entree was a ny strip with a smashed potato. Steak was cooked perfectly and the potatoes were seasoned well. I had a fluke fish dish that was served over a corn clam chowder. The fish was white and flaky. The chowder was delicious. The clams were still in the shell and were super fresh.
