Clean, organized & well lit bougie counterpart of Goodwill!! From the outside, the store echos a hip upscale boutique. The same nuances follow the interior space. That said, the impressive shopping atmosphere is completely opposite of an average Goodwill. Think Urban Outfitters meets Thrifty vibes.. DO NOT SHOP OR DONATE HERE. The donation drop off staff, particularly one woman, are EXTREMELY rude and condescending. I attempted to donate a large amount of nice stuff and this woman went through each item and told me she refused to accept certain items and when I asked why she very rudely said, "would you buy this...?" I will never donate or shop at this location again. They claim to be selective because it's a Goodwill "specialty store" but don't be fooled, the items inside are the same as any other Goodwill store. read more

This store is very clean and organized! I wouldn't say it is a higher end goodwill though. Most of their clothes are from Walmart, Target, JcPenny's. Didn't see anything designer. Unfortunately, there was quite a bit of broken merchandise too. They did have friendly staff, great parking and speedy service. read more

My partner and I frequent this location because we love the selection, and it's close enough that we can ride our bikes there. I recently biked over and found a real steal- 6 Connect & Build Sets that will be perfect gifts for my niblings. However, since I was on a bike, I couldn't take the gifts home with me. Angle, one of the employees, was so kind and helpful and offered to keep them overnight for me so I could come back the next morning with my car and pick them up. If i could give 0 stars i would. I love thrift shopping . Recently I had a very bad experience with the store manager APRIL at the bixby knolls "Edgar and James " location. I went to buy jeans , I bought 5 pairs ,which were 9.99 each , when i got home and threw them in the washer. After the quick wash I realized I had 5 jeans but the receipt showed 6 pairs scanned . The mistake may have been because the young man who rang me up , scanned all the jeans with only one barcode . I call the location the very next day and explained the situation and that i've washed them as well . She told me on the phone to bring them in and she will refund me . When I arrive , very rudely "April" the store manager, was very rude and seemed she didn't want to help me . She then says she cannot help me because the tags are off . I remind her that on the phone , I did tell her that I washed them and she had me waste my time coming to the store , to now say she can't refund me . She continues to talk in. a very sarcastic way about everything I say . She is very rude ! I do not know how she ever became a store manager. It makes me never want to shop at this location again. I called the location next door to the cooperate office & The store manager i believe his name is Gary , was very very helpful, apologized for the situation, and refunded me the money back. I felt welcomed at his store and like he loved his job ! I even went on to buy more items . Please speak with April and remind her that is not acceptable for a manager !!! read more

Used to have good finds back when it first opened. New manager and employees have bad attitudes and everything extremely overpriced to be 2nd hand. Better finds at a regular Goodwill or Salvation Army. read more

So I came here because I was on my way to at&t and just stumbled upon this place. Right away I noticed this table that really caught my eyes. But I just thought it might be a table to store items on but then I asked the guy working the register and he gave me a random price ($59) I didn't think he think I really wanted to buy it but I was like that's a really good deal. So I told him I wanted to buy it right now. He then tells me he's going to ask the manager for the actual price and comes back and tell me that it's $69 not $59, ten bucks difference no big deal. He proceeds to decorate the table as if I didn't just tell him I wanted it. I asked him can they take it apart for me because my car is small he tell me "I don't think so they're going to be mad because they just put it together" I then had to call my bf with his suv to come pick it up. As the other guy that was working there came to help me take it out he asked "would you like to take off the legs to fit better?" I was just like ugh by then because it was just literally a few screws to take out the leg. Anyways I love the table and the furnitures there are pretty cheap but a very small selection. Clothes- the dress section is not on the racks by size but by color coordination's (dark to colorful to light/white) so it was pretty hard to find a size because it was all random sizes and to make it worse the rack is so high up me and another customer was telling each other how it's hard work just to look for something on there our arms was getting tired. But this is just the dresses section I believe because the shirts and pants went by size (s/m/L etc) But one thing I do like is that the clothes throughout the place is not as outdated as the original goodwill. You can find something that was just in stores not too long ago. And they have a pretty nice fitting room that was pretty roomie. So if you're looking for a cute cheap outfit and don't mind looking through the racks then this is the place for you. Most of the staffs are friendly and I would come here again but not in a long while because I came here a few weeks ago for the table and they still have the same stuff nothing new or interesting this time around. I love Edgar and James. Ive come here twice now, once while waiting for my order at sushi west and a second time to donate some of my clothes. During my first visit, I was pleasantly surprised at the prices of the clothes! Places like buffalo exchange often times charge more than I think second hand clothes should cost but this wasn't the case at Edgar and James. The clothes were similar to the styles at Buffalo yet maintained the prices of a Goodwill store. Dresses were around ten dollars! There's also a dressing room so you can try on the clothes. On my first trip, I scored a pair of dapper Mickey mouse ears that still had the original price tags on for only 8 bucks! It even had a cute little black netting. I think this is a fine addition to the bixby knolls area. Buying second hand clothes is a great way to be eco friendly! read more

Super excited to have this store in Bixby Knolls, considering Edgar and James offers a more boutique experience with high end items, unlike the typical goodwill stores. My mother likes coming to this shop, but I felt compelled to give this place a bad review. It is now twice that I have heard employees here be extremely rude to little old ladies. It really gets my blood boiling when people treat people like that. The first time, they gave the sweet old lady crap for not having exact change. The second time, another old lady asked if she could leave something at the counter that she wanted to buy and the man at the counter condescendingly told her to get a cart in an unacceptable manner. read more

Came in here for the first time with my son and we were excited to find some puzzles. We bought a 1000 piece Mickey puzzle, which my son was super excited about, however we were incredibly disappointed once we put it together. Not only was there a huge chunk of pieces missing, many of the pieces were coated in a disgusting sticky substance. Also the bag they came in was filled with animal hair and dirt/dust. I understand that these are used items but I thought they would at least check the items for quality purposes, before trying to sell them. As a result we will not be shopping here again. read more

The good: it was clean and air conditioned, and not as expensive as I expected. The bad: none of this stuff deserved to be upgraded to a new label. It's the same quality of stuff that you can find at any Goodwill or thrift store. And yeah, it was overpriced. I saw three sewing machines--really, really old ones--that cost more than a brand new Brother or Singer you can pick up at any Target or Walmart. I browsed some racks, and saw dirty and extremely wrinkled clothing. How about at least taking a steamer to the stuff? Then I went to Marshall's and found brand new stuff for less than E&J. Yes, there is a place for this but there are a lot of goodwills around and there is no need to have one in downtown Bixby Knolls. Interesting but limited selection today lots of clothes from Target and Gap. Only two dressing rooms so long waits to change since lots of customers had cart loads of clothes. I did note that regular shoppers were super friendly and willing to share their shopping expertise. read more
