Great little speak easy. Was super crowded because of conference party, but great customer service at the bar. Just needed to wind down and have a quick bite to eat.

Bread for the table

We absolutely had the BEST experience! This was our first Valentine's dinner there, and we're so glad Livingston made it happen. We were beyond excited to have the same waitress from Edgar's P&P, Deborah, taking care of us again. And when I tell you that was the best Southern hospitality we've had in a while -- it was truly amazing! Deborah has such a special touch when it comes to service. She makes you feel welcomed, valued, and taken care of from start to finish. The food was fantastic, and the service was top-tier both in the restaurant and at the bar downstairs.

Average fare to have for Fox Theatre pre-event. Communication between the hostesses and the waiters who deserves to be addressed. And the food was average fare.

We LOVE Edgar's Proof & Provision in the basement of the Georgian Terrace! Whenever we visit Atlanta, we make it a point to stop in. Love the historic vibe and coziness of the place. Tonight we had the beef carpaccio, the Margherita pizza and some wings. DJ took great care of us and made me the best jalapeño margarita I've ever had! (And I've had more than a few). So if you're in midtown or staying at the Georgian, stop in for some great food and drinks!!

It was fine. My bartender was nice and took good care of me. The vibe is just a basic bar. I didn't really get the speakeasy feel they advertise. Had a decent Manhattan to drink. Got the burger and I ordered medium and got well done. That being said, it was flavorful. It was served with "house chips" which I expected to either be fries or restaurant made potato chips but they were just generic Ruffles. Convenient location if you're here for a conference and a good place for a drink and meal but nothing special.

They don't break speed-records, that's for sure. Food was good and drinks are artisanal.

Great cocktails made by a helpful and friendly bar staff. Be sure to try the El Pepe with a shaved prime rib sandwich.

Super tasty cocktails. They are definitely high quality. The food is not typical bar food. It has a nice modern feel but not over the top.

Great drinks and nice small plates to share. The atmosphere is pretty neat. The place wasn't busy during our visit so service was good.

The next time in 2024 when I was in the area, they were closed for a remodel. Today was the day. The beer selection was fantastic and so was the food. I got the pork sandwich with greens on top. It was delicious, but it could've not had juices leaking so much? Maybe cheese below and above the meat to try to keep some of the juices off the bun or maybe more bun toasting? The fries were amazing and I should've gotten the aolie initially, but didn't get it until I saw another table with an order. It was delicious. The service was very good. The server had good knowledge of the beers, food, and was friendly. This is one of the best beer bars in the US. The Atlanta area is fortunate to have two killer beer bars, the other being the Brick Store Pub in Decatur.

The pretzels were burnt, the schnitzel was overfried, and the fish was a bit greasy. The deviled eggs were fine, but nothing particularly memorable. That said, aesthetically it is a great place with beautiful old architecture, solid service, and an amazing beer list.

House made tartar sauce. Others enjoyed their burgers. Oyster app was superb ( 3 oysters). Crab claws were nice, but were small claws-not Alaskan King claws. Sticky toffee dessert was a huge portion. Lemon chess pie was nice and tart. Drinks: Mexican Cokes in bottles and I enjoyed a cider by Aval from Bretagne, France. Bonus treat was the Chartreuse 1605 we shared.

While we were only going to order entrees, Taylor suggested we order an appetizer. She suggested the deviled egg trio and when it was mentioned that there were some dietary restrictions on the toppings she told us we could have them all done traditionally. Unfortunately the order was prepared incorrectly so they had to remake it. Taylor apologized for the error and the delay and the item was comped. When our entrees arrived at the table my burger was also incorrect and had to be sent back to the kitchen. Overall we all thought the food items were underwhelming. Precisely prepared but lacking seasoning and flavor. Been a long time since any of us had to add salt/pepper to a plate of shrimp and grits. Taylor was awesome with the service component so it might be worth a second visit but so many other places to try ....

When we received our food, we nearly gasped at the size of the cornbread because we weren't fully expecting a generous amount. The cornbread was perfectly cooked and was so delicious. We didn't taste any honey though (it tasted like salted butter), which was a shame since we love honey butter, but it still paired well with the cornbread. The gnocchi was insanely good! The gnocchi was cooked well, the rabbit was super tender and seasoned well, and I was surprised by how well the aged balsamic pulled the dish together. I highly recommend this dish. I saw other dishes that were served to other tables that had me salivating too, so I can't wait to go back and try more dishes. We sat at the bar to eat, and the bartenders were all super sweet and funny. This is a must-try spot!

(One star only because zero isn't an option)…read more Our experience at Southern Gentleman in Buckhead was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in years. The only positive part of the afternoon was being seated a few minutes before our reservation time. After that, everything went downhill. We waited approximately 10 minutes just to receive water, and then another 15 minutes before our server returned to take care of our table. Once we placed our order, the server had to return three separate times to verify what she had written down. We ordered two simple cocktails, yet one arrived as a shot instead of the drink ordered. We sent it back, only to watch the server bring the same drink back out and deliver it to the table behind us. After sitting there for roughly ten minutes, that family correctly informed the server it wasn't theirs. Rather than having a fresh drink prepared, the server simply picked it up, walked around the corner, and attempted to bring the exact same drink back to our table. At that point, we took the drink directly to the bar and requested that it be remade. The food itself was average at best. The mac and cheese was the only item that stood out in a positive way. Unfortunately, we weren't the only table experiencing problems. All three tables surrounding us appeared to be dealing with significant service issues of their own. A restaurant called "Southern Gentleman" should embody hospitality, professionalism, and attention to detail. Our experience reflected none of those qualities. If you value your time, money, and family dining experience, I would strongly recommend choosing another restaurant in Buckhead. This establishment completely ruined what was supposed to be a pleasant Father's Day dinner.
