A few years ago I received an Edible Arrangement from a satisfied client. It was a delightful, delicious surprise. The fruit was ripe & the chocolate very good quality. Since that first time I have used them when ever I want to give a WOW! gift of appreciation or sympathy. A friend's Mom passed away last month. The newspaper obituary requested "no flowers". I knew she would have lots of family over to the house so I sent a very nice basket that included dove shaped pineapple dipped in white chocolate. My friend said the arrangement was the perfect gift. When I placed the order, there was an offer for a 6 piece free box. The e-mail receipt said that a follow up e-mail would arrive with information regarding redeeming the 6 piece box. It has been 3 weeks since the funeral & I hadn't received the 6 piece redemption e-mail. I called the store today and spoke with Ricky. He was able to track my order, said they had the notice that I still had the 6 piece coming & I could simply call them whenever I wanted to pick it up. He apologized that I had not received the follow up e-mail but said I would have no problem whenever I did want to get the box. I have a friend coming to stay next weekend & think I will have a wonderful surprise for her when she does get here. I also want to say that we love the chocolate dipped fruit. I had such a grand experience with a dozen chocolate strawberrys from Edible arrangements 2 weeks ago, My husband decided to send me some for Valentines day. These were delivered as well but from this Irving Park locatation. All I can say is that the strawberries were the small kind that I purchased yesterday from Costco and were dipped in chocolate. They weren't even jumbo. I would save your $$ and buy these from Costco for $4 for a 2bl box, dip in chocolate and then throw sprinkles on them. you could put the entire thing in your mouth while the others were huge that it took 3 bites to finish it off. Let me start off by saying that I absolutely despise social media basement dwellers who tear local businesses apart that don't deserve it. Hell, I just signed up for Yelp. I mean, come on, you really think that I want to be doing this with my time? That should give you an inkling on how bad the service was at this Edible Arrangements location. My mother ordered a $100 congratulatory arrangement from this location this past Saturday to be delivered to me in Irving Park that afternoon. She called me Saturday night to see if I had received anything and then again on Sunday. After hearing from me that I never received a delivery (surprise totally blown at this point) she called into this location for an update. The store employee was very rude to her on the phone and stated that "Her son said there was no Ryan at this phone number when the driver called him" and that the delivery driver had taken the order home with them. My mother explained that I never received a call and that she was hoping they could try again. Again, the employee pretty much told her that it wasn't their problem and there was nothing they could do. She at this point requested a call back from the store manager or owner. The owner then called her to pretty much reiterate what the store employee told her without doing ANY investigative work at all. He told her that he "doesn't know what the issue is with her and her son but it's her son's fault (me he's referring to) that it didn't get delivered". He then took no responsibility for his employees or himself, offered no resolution, and then said he could provide a screen shot of the driver calling me (big mistake). Once my mother received the screen shot, it was clearly evident that the delivery driver had called the WRONG number and not once tried to reach her or myself during the delivery process. The owner took responsibility and offered to still deliver an arrangement as an apology (okay. I see you man; nice move. Pretty much all you've got at this point to save face). She requested a refund and said to not worry about it but he was persistent. She closed it by saying that they could try again after 5pm on Monday because I work during the day. Moving on to today, Monday. Pretty solid Monday actually. Nothing too crazy. High spirits. Little rainy but warmed up substantially. All's good until I get a call from the delivery man at 12:45 this afternoon warning me that he'll be there in 20 minutes. WHAT?! I was expecting him after 5pm. I ran out of work, hopped in an Uber and rushed home to meet this guy. After arriving in exactly 18 minutes, I find out (from my landlord) that the delivery driver just dropped off a box of chocolate strawberries saying it was for him. Gave him the box and Usain Bolted right out of there. The only way my landlord deciphered to call me was from the phone number on the note that was one digit off from mine (STILL! COME ON PEOPLE! IT'S A PHONE NUMBER). I'd say write it down but they clearly couldn't do that, or provide ANY decent customer service. I'd bet if they took a little accountability from time-to-time and actually put the effort in that they'd have a higher rating than 3 stars. Sorry for the novel. In summary, don't give this establishment your business and spend the extra time/money somewhere else. read more
