Edith's is a magical place. We enjoyed our meal, which started with a vegetarian ceviche because I'm allergic to shrimp. We only mentioned that I was allergic, and the staff adjusted the appetizer (which was delicious) to my needs. Dinner was fabulous. I got the fish of the day while my non-allergic husband indulged his shrimp obsession. Finally dessert -- a corn tamale which may not sound decadent, but it was. One of the best I've had in quite some time! Worth a splurge! Look, this isn't the Cabo of 20 years ago; prices have gone up because it's a quick flight from uber-expensive California. Everyone seems to know about Edith's which is a common tourist spot. The ambiance is beautiful and colorful inside. A great spot for date night, family gathering, or a celebration. For the best pictures, I recommend going before it gets dark. The service was great. Plenty of servers and wait staff around. The food was overall good but a bit overpriced (about $50-100 per person). I do appreciate how they cook the protein fresh on the grill in front of the restaurant. The food was fresh. They include a complimentary bread plate and vegetarian tostada. I recommend ordering the Caesar salad which comes with a live preparation of the dressing and making of the salad table side. The service is always top-notch, and the owner is truly one of the kindest, most genuine people. You can tell she cares deeply about the restaurant -- and word around town is she treats her staff incredibly well, which says everything. The food? Next-level. The combination specials come with generous portions, perfect for sharing and sampling the menu. The shrimp (aka giant prawns) are absolutely to die for -- a must-order. We went here for our last dinner in Cabo and it was 1000% worth it. If you only eat out one night in Cabo, this is the place to go everything from the atmosphere the service the food and the view is incredible. The staff here are incredibly attentive and give great recommendations. We had the steak and lobster special which retails were about $170 USD. It was a perfect amount of food for two people. all the cocktails were fantastic but my favourite was a Mexican coffee which you get a little fire show with. I made a reservation here about a week before we arrived and they were extremely responsive and accommodating. The restaurant is next to the beach so you can walk to the beach after you eat overall a five star experience for me. We will definitely be coming back next time we're in Cabo. read more

But our main entrees were extremely salty .. we couldn't even eat our food.. when we brought it up to our waiter - he was extremely defensive.. claiming we ate most of the food (which was completely false). He brought over a manager who sung the restaurants praises with their 36 years of excellence without ever any complaints.. which was completely narcissistic .. and I find it hard to believe they never had a complaint about the food. The worse part about this experience wasn't even the food- it was the service. And to top it off - they charged us $40 dollars for 4 bottles of water .. which is highway robbery if you ask me.. we had better food at Tacos el Paisa and better service as well. What an embarrassment of such a beautiful restaurant.. the ambience is amazing .. but the service and food are complete trash. Do better and fix your attitude... these employees were so defensive as if they cooked the food themselves...nothing but a bunch of men in there with fragile egos that can't seem to take criticism. Edith's is somewhat of an institution in Cabo. You'll see it on every list for Mexican Restaurants and it's well deserved in my opinion. When you get there, the atmosphere is great. You are ushered in to your table in the middle of a garden setting outside and you can tell that everyone is enjoying their time. I would recommend a reservation because it gets crowded on the weekends and even on Thursday when we went. What was interesting is that we got there at approximately 8pm and it was probably 90% capacity. At about 9pm, it was done. It literally emptied out. They are very efficient in taking care of you. You are setup quickly and your waiter introduces himself early on. He has help as well so you aren't really sitting around with the "Hey, I'm still alive," look on your face like at some places in Cabo. They bring out the platter for presentation and go over the choices for the night. Pretty basic there but it's cool to see. We were tired from the travel so we stayed out of the alcohol category for this evening so I can't comment on their drinks but a lot of margaritas were coming out. We started with the Ceasar Salad which is created tableside and that was a really nice experience. They really do it authentically down to every note. It was a fantastic salad. I highly recommend it as starter. Instead of chopped, it's presented with the full leaf which has a more visual effect. My husband went with the popular Wally's Platter which he said was great. They did a great job of butterflying the shrimp and cooking it well as to not kill it. Shrimp is hard because and extra minute or two is all it takes to wreck it. The Lobster was done well. The fish of the day was Seabass and that was the best part of the dish in our opinion. I went with the Chicken Enchiladas which had a nice red sauce and was put together well. Enchiladas are basic so you have to try and ruin them with too much cheese sauce or dry chicken. Edith's did well on all fronts there. We kinda traded things off so we could try everything. The portions here are good so you won't leave hungry. The prices were fair as well. I would recommend Edith's to anyone looking to have a nice Mexican food experience in a town that has some good and some bad in that regard. read more

This place is fantastic. When cultural pride and food meet, this is a must-stop in Cabo! The service was terrific; the staff was so accommodating and attentive. My son had an issue with a lose tooth, and they took such care to make sure he was cared for during dinner. Additionally, he has a severe dairy allergy, and they were so gracious to recommend a special dish to meet his dietary needs. I had an off-menu item and was blown away by the freshness of the lobster and the shrimp. While the steak was overcooked for medium and could use a bit more salt, it was an excellent complement to an abundance of food. The appetizer was so fresh--a tostada with beans, cabbage, salsa, and cotija cheese. The desserts were a perfect amount to satisfy the sweet tooth and complement the meal. We were excited to try Edith's, but unfortunately, it felt like more of a tourist trap than a memorable dining experience. The food was average at best -- we had the enchiladas and they were just okay, nothing special. My passion fruit margarita was huge, but didn't seem to have much tequila in it. While the ambiance is cute and the live mariachi band adds a nice touch, it doesn't quite make up for the high prices and underwhelming flavors. The atmosphere here is incredible! We loved the walk to / from the restaurant, surrounded by nature but also some cute shops with trinkets and more. We celebrated a birthday here with a large group of about 10. The staff did a good job making sure we got all our food around the same time. Shrimp butterflied in their shells, lobster tail, and piece of sea bass. All were pure, fresh, and so delicious. There's melted butter and a spinach sauce as well. 5 stars - Combo: chicken breast, cheese filled pepper, and steak my hub enjoyed. 4.5 stars - Bananas foster: came with a fire show done table side. 4 stars - Staff: Rigo, Saul, and Santiago were exceptional! Made our experience wonderful that evening. Super friendly, helpful, and on top of everything. - Atmosphere magical colorful glass blown hearts hanging in a high gazebo like area in the middle of the open air restaurant. Midlights: - For reservations, need to submit online from their website and wait to get a response. Not in real time so you were not be sure if availability until they get back to you. - Plain chicken breast: glad they did this for us but charged $25 for only that without any sides. - Give you salsa but no chip to start: only a single large chip with cabbage and sour cream. Lowlights - Second time we visited just a few days later was not as good of an experience. There was a tequila aficionado who recommended drinks, listed specials and suggested wonderful sipping shots. My favorite dish was the tuna tartare. Edith's in Cabo has always been a favorite of mine--great food, incredible ambience, and a true Cabo experience. I've been a handful of times, and it's consistently been amazing. On this trip, we were celebrating our son's birthday and had the private room, which was perfect for the kids and gave us a nice sense of privacy. The food, as expected, was outstanding. However, the service didn't quite meet the mark this time. There was one main waiter and several attendants, but the service was inconsistent, slow, and we often had to track them down throughout the night. Having worked in restaurants, I understand that things happen--staff call out, and some nights are tougher than others. But with a bill of $800 before tip for a group of four adults and five kids, the service should match the experience.
