These were probably my favorite tacos on my trip to Cabo earlier this summer! They're simple and no-frills, but the food is truly top notch. My husband and I ordered a variety of tacos for dinner including the fried battered fish, fried battered shrimp, grilled octopus, al pastor, and skirt steak. The tacos come out looking very simple, but that's because they bring lots of different toppings to the table so you can create your own perfect tacos! My favorites were the fried battered fish (pescado) and al pastor -- truly outstanding! In addition to the tacos, we also tried the quesabirria quesadilla which was a solid pick, and then we ended our meal with the flan which was incredible :) I wouldn't hesitate to come back again when I'm in Cabo next time! read more

There were 3 cruise ships in today. So consider that here... I got 3 tacos. 1 pastor, 1 fish, & 1 chicken mole. The mole & the pastor were pretty good. Like 4/5. The fish taco was outstanding. Ordered a hornitos margarita on the rocks & it wasn't very good... 3/5. The bummer here was the service was really slow. It was busy. So ok. Whatever. But we sat down for 15 mins straight before we were even acknowledged. Drinks took a while after that. Then when they brought our food, they didn't give us any of the toppings, like salsa, onions etc. we had to go ask for it. Good ceiling fans keep the flys out. Great ceviche, good seafood, and friendly service. Not too many locals here as it is closer to medano and the prices reflect that. It is an upgrade from some of the plastic chair restaurants and feels a lot cleaner. read more

Food is the delicious. Always visit twice when I'm there. 1st time for the great fish tacos-grilled or fried. Second time for shrimp molcajete. It's huge and so good. Their guacamole is very good but the best thing is the toppings that they have for each table. No one in Cabo's offers that and they are so good. AMAZING! We walked from the cruise port to grab some tacos, and Tacos Gardenias did not disappoint. The restaurant has a large open‑air front, making it easy to enjoy the weather while digging into delicious local food. The staff was friendly and quick to take our order and bring out the food. We tried both the grilled and fried fish tacos. They were each great, but the grilled was our favorite. The portions were generous, and the condiments came in a shared dish with everything you could want for your tacos. The toppings were so fresh and flavorful that we even made a little salad and finished them after our tacos. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. I said I would be back! Last time was with my parents and all we had was tacos. This time I brought my wife and we had tacos, guacamole, octopus salad, and seafood soup. Don't skip the seafood soup. It was good. It's definitely a good choice if you're protein focused as well. The inside isn't much but they have a good amount of tables to handle a bunch of people. The tables at the front are near the street so dust and exhaust can be bothersome. I recommend the middle tables or back tables. They have hand washing stations near the bathrooms. The food was good and flavorful. Definitely made my parents a fan and my wife a fan. A crowd pleaser. The downside is the location as it's farther away to get to. We had to walk 22-25 mins. We just decided to take a taxi back. The sun is no joke even in December. But was the food worth it? I think so! read more

My family and I went on a taco excursion to Tacos Gus, Taqueria El Paisa and Tacos Gardenia. We had different tacos but we pretty much tried most of the tacos in the menu at each location. The first restaurant we went to when getting out and Cabo. The best restaurant we went to outside of our resort, and it wasn't even close. Our waiter, Manuel, was perfect. So sweet and friendly, provided us with some suggestions, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. He made a delicious michelada and my husband very much enjoyed his margarita as well. The tacos...y'all. You need the octopus and you need the Al pastor for sure. The set up that you give you for toppings and sauces is like a dream. I wanted all of it. This place has such great vibes, full bar, open entry but nice and cool inside especially on a warm day. It was only a few blocks away from my hotel and my transport driver highly recommended it so decided to have breakfast here. I chose the chilaquiles which came with green sauce. It was pretty empty when I got there. It's a cute little place and the service was good. The food finally came and it was delicious but spicy! And there was lots of it so I got to take some home. We had a delicious lunch after walking from cruise ship shuttle dock at the Marina. It is about a 15-20 minute walk. We had a perfect lime margarita, a hearty serving of guacamole and chips, and battered and grilled fish tacos. I recommend the grilled fish tacos - the portion of fish is generous and fresh. A tray of shredded cabbage and bowls of pico de gallo, smoky/ hot salsa, onions, and fried whole peppers are brought out so you can dress your own taco. There are squeeze bottles of crema and avocado sauce to top off the tacos. The corn tortillas are fresh made. The restaurant was packed full on an early Monday afternoon. The toilets and hand washing sink are at the back of the restaurant. We walked 8 minutes to El Médano beach after lunch. Tacos Gardenias made it a perfect day! read more

Came here with my buddy during our cruise stop in Cabo. I had been here a few times before (been 13-15 years or so), and always thought they were the best fish tacos I had ever had. At the time, they were, but now, I know some better places. Still, a must stop in Cabo, and they still serve up some great tacos. I went with 2 fish, one shrimp, and one lobster taco. They come naked, and you top them with their condiment bar they bring out. I always top mine the same, cabbage, pico, lime and hot sauce. The fish and shrimp tacos were bomb, and as I remembered. Beer batter, freshly fried, really tasty. The lobster taco was being hyped by the waiter, so I decided to try it. Meh. It was a tad soupy (had to ask for another tortilla) and leaked right through the tortilla. Flavor was ok, but it was definitely not worth $10.00 and would not order it again. Speaking of prices......tacos are $70-$80 pesos now. That's straight up American prices at $3-$4 a taco. Still, even with the higher prices, they still serve great tacos and if you haven't been here before, I would definitely recommend it while in Cabo. read more

Great choices to top your taco. Bottled beer was great and very cold. Requested a glass and it came chilled. Service was great! As soon as you had a dirty plate they were here to pick it. The restaurant provided authentic ambience and a getaway for great local food. Many locals also eating here. The corn and flour tortillas are homemade.
