You can't gate keep a place everybody knows about. Edojin has fantastic food and fantastic people. Most people sit in the booths are at the tables, but I find most of the fun is right up at the bar talking with Dan. Sometimes Joe is there if he isn't off on an adventure. Service is quick and responsive. If there's something that you're craving and you can describe it the sushi chefs at the bar will try to re-create it for you. This place can get a little cramped at rush-hour times but if you make it before six on a weekday seating is fairly easy. If you don't prepare to wait a little while.

I came near closing time and the service was still spectacular. Servers made sure all of my questions were answered and timely service of food! I tried a few different rolls and all were great. It's located in a plaza on the end with plenty of parking. It has dark tinted windows and appears closed but they were open. Small inside but plenty of space for a group or date night.

My sister wanted sushi because she was down and this place had good reviews and less than 10 minutes from our place. I cannot believe we have never been here but we sure will be back. I would call this a hidden gem in Cypress. The young wait staff is super friendly and gives you the time to make a decision along with suggestions. My sister noticed it is dimly lit, but that also seems like a trend at most sushi restaurants. All of our choices were fresh and full of flavor. I will never go to the grocery store again for sushi.

Just left from here for lunch. I arrived at 11 and they don't open until 12...I waited haha. There were others who waited too. It's worth the wait. The sushi is so good and flavorful. I reccommend this place. It's chill, the food is yummy and it's BYOB! Try it out.

I wanted to give this place 5 starts just because of the sushi but I just can't. Service played a role in the rating. We came on a Wednesday after Happy Hour, and it actually didn't seem too packed. Never coming here before we didn't know it was self seating--so just a heads up have a seat somewhere. A girl came to tell us and we just sat down. The table was dirty...thankfully we had some lysol wipes. After about 10-15 mins finally a server came to us and took our order. We order 4 rolls, I'll get to the food later. After ordering, it took them 45 mins to bring out two rolls. Both were served with no ginger or wasabi, I'm not sure if that's something you have to request, but that's usually pretty standard practice in a sushi place. We waited another 15 mins for the next two (my friend's food) to come out before my friend and I could start eating...So in total we had waited an hour, which for a Wednesday and not too packed I thought was crazy. We saw orders going and coming, most were for take out, so maybe next time we just need to order to go...which brings me to the food. I wanna say it was worth the wait...but not an hour wait. Don't get me wrong, it was great sushi, and I recommend trying, just not eating at the actual restaurant. The rolls I got: Louisiana- if you like spicy, get this! It was so good. More spicy than I've ever had a Louisiana roll. Tiger Eye- put together nicely, smoked salmon on point. Both rolls were good sizes and well constructed. Again, I'd go back for just the sushi, but def not the wait.

This was a fabulous meal overall . The shaggy sushi was phenomenal and full of flavor. The spicy mayo combined with the crab and fish was very impactful. The only negative is that the individual sushi rolls were too big . This resulted in a less flavorful experience per bite because I had to eat half of the sushi at a time. The fried rice was lacking in flavor in general . The best sushi of all was Philly cut roll, the red one to be specific. The flavor was sharp and intense, a hint of spice as well. The chicken Katsu was good too but a bit on the tough side

I've been wanting to check this local sushi joint out for awhile after seeing rave reviews on various pages. While majority of this year they've been doing to-go online, I decided to wait until they opened the dining room in hopes to get great freshly made sushi. We had various types of sushi's and honestly ordered so much I forgot the names of them all. From sashimi to the rolls, all were excellent! For a local sushi restaurant, with excellent sushi and value, you can't go wrong!

We ordered two appetizers and two rolls, all of which were good. The food took quite a long time considering there weren't many people in the restaurant. Very clean, light music playing. They offered a free birthday dessert!

We went here on July 2nd. The place was crowded and short staffed. But waitress was excellent and very friendly. We ordered a sushi and sashimi platter but got a bento box by mistake. The restaurant took the whole thing off our tab. Wow! That was exceptional service. The rolls were great. We had both daily specials, caterpillar and black horse roll. We had black bean ice cream. Came here to check out their happy hour. The menu was alright. $1.75/piece for sushi.. $7 and $8 special rolls. Their fish is pretty good. Tasted fresh and delicious. Reason for the 3 star is the service. Staff was friendly, but not very attentive. I wasn't sure why it took a good minute to get my food out. (30 min) I didn't order anything that needed to be cooked. It was like 4 pieces of sushi. They weren't even busy. The wait wouldn't have been so bad if our server came by and awknowledged us waiting or something. Overall experience was OK. read more

We did not like the Ginger Salad. The dressing is strangely sweet and tastes nothing like ginger IMO and we threw all three salads in the trash. The miso soup was very good and the kids wished we had ordered more. The salmon carpaccio was tasty. The regular salmon rolls were mostly rice, which was disappointing. My son loved the Alaskan roll. My husband enjoyed the CC Roll. We weren't fans of the +OISHI roll. I missed the part where the menu stated there there was crab over the top and we don't eat crab. We really liked the Godzilla roll, but it was too big around to eat properly. I was really looking for something fresh and simple without spice and not fried, but we couldn't find exactly what we really wanted. We may try a few different rolls next time. read more

This is the best sushi place in Cypress! The lunch and happy hour prices are great. My favorite is the roll combo ($12) that comes with 1 hand roll, 1 classic, and 1 Godzilla roll. The toro is honestly the best that I've ever had as it was very light and refreshing! read more

This is not only my favorite sushi restaurant in the cypress area, it is actually my favorite sushi restaurant in Houston. The fish is incredibly fresh, and many of the rolls and presentations are very creative. More than that, the service is absolutely fantastic. Two standout waitresses are Kelli and Judy (who looks just like Julia Stiles.) I highly recommend the Salmon Carpaccio. They also have several no rice rolls for the carb conscious. All in all - great food, well prepared, and very friendly and excellent service! read more

This has got to be the freshest sushi outside of downtown Houston. The restaurant gets busy on the weekends so get there early to get a table! The servers are always incredibly helpful and nice taking your order and if you want to change or substitute something, it's never a problem and they're always great at recommendations if you're unsure what to get! Check out the special rolls on the board next to the sushi counter for awesome rolls. The sushi comes out pretty quickly considering how much sushi they put out and it's always fresh and delicious. The edamame, tuna balls, and tempura is delicious if you're looking for appetizers. The soup is always a favorite with my family and even the bento boxes are a great size for lunch (I recommend the chicken!). The owners are always there and literally the nicest people! Amazing food and such sweet staff! By far, my favorite sushi place in town :) they also serve a "happy hour" that makes the rolls super affordable! Plus it's BYOB so we always bring a glass of wine and save a ton of money! They provide glasses and a bucket of ice so it's perfect!! read more

I come here at least two times a week because it's such a great place to eat. The food is not only amazing but the staff is incredible! They know me by name and my order. Best little sushi bar this side of town!!! The sushi is always fresh and DELICIOUS!!!!The atmosphere is nice and cozy and the staff are all super friendly! Love going here every chance I get! Located off Barker Cypress and 290 on the Northside this cute little sushi joint always has awesome customer service and fresh sushi to choose from. Also, it's BYOB with a $5 fee per bottle which is a steal if you are looking for great food and wine. My favs: Spicy Tuna Chips Sashimi is super fresh! Spider Roll Ugi Hand Roll We order stuff off the menu and request the chef to surprise us and everything Mike aka the chef made was delish. Must try place if you haven't already. read more

Man I don't even leave bad reviews, but this is one of my favorite sushi places in cypress. Put a to go order in at 8:00 and weren't able to get it till 9:20. It was a super busy night so I get it. The only thing that really bothered me was that we were told it'd be 30-35 min. Honestly the food was still bangin haha. Will still be coming back :) read more

We started with the spicy edamame and followed it up with a few happy hour rolls. Everything was good, but nothing really stood out as exceptional. This is a BYOB establishment with a small corking fee that's more than reasonable ($5 per table). Definitely worth a trip but we are still in search of our go to sushi place in Cypress. read more

Was my first visit to the restaurant. The atmosphere is nice, good food, waitress were super kind. Happy hour is the best in Cypress. Everything was fresh and delicious. We are coming back for sure. 100% recommend. read more

Great service. Was greeted by a few people as we entered during lunchtime. Perhaps should've gotten something off the lunch menu but decided to get three rolls instead. Shaggy dog was good but the firecracker one I really liked! Took a Philly roll to go. My only complaint would be that they are VERY SLOW! I will be back though read more

The byob surprised me, but a quick run across the street and we were good. The shrimp fried rice is great, kiddo tore it up and ordered more. We got egg rolls and edamame for apps, they were standard. We ordered three sushi rolls and they were fine. But nothing special. Nothing that I would come back specifically for. Don't get me wrong, we will be back, but I will likely order some other things. read more

Such a great place with so many choices for sushi. It's BYOB so that saves on dinner meals for a large family. They have happy hour prices on their menu so get there early to enjoy a few dollars off your favorite rolls. Must try rolls are their crawfish rolls and their Edo tower which may not be on the menu. The waitstaff are always very nice and the food is always nice and fresh. Again, get there early especially on a Friday night. Unfortunately they don't take reservations on Fridays but they do Saturdays which is good bc the place is a little small and can be difficult to seat very large party's. We will keep coming back over and over again ! read more

There was a good amount of beef, and the crispy--possibly garlic or onions on top was a great addition. The amount of food on the plate was just right. I couldn't give it a full 5 stars because the service was only good when the server was actually there. I think there were 2, maybe 3 servers, with the restaurant about 70% full. We took some extra time to order, but it also took a while for someone to come back and take our order. It took a while to get a refill, and there were noticeable delays whenever we needed a server. I was there at 5:30 and only a few people inside dining or having a drink. My server was Everado and he was great. I ordered a glass of the Imagery Pinot Noir. I was in real luck as it was Happy Hour with some great discount prices on several of their appetizers, sushi and sashimi. I decided to try the soft shell crab appetizer and it came out so quickly. It was crispy and super fresh, perfectly paired with the wine I had ordered. I love Japanese restaurants like this, especially when they aren't supper busy. You can take your time, order a thing or two and peruse the menu and pick something else at your leisure. My next treat was one of their "signature appetizers" and it was great, what was described on the menu as a tuna and salmon martini! Wow, it tasted as good as it looked and not only had fresh sashimi slices of tuna and salmon but also meaty escolar. In the center was a creamy mix of wasabi, ginger topped with some tobiko, the small orange fish roe. Talk about a real culinary treat! Next up was a special house roll called the Pink Lover Roll which was a roll with chopped spicy salmon, tuna, yellow tail, tempura jalapeno and avocado with spicy mayo, eel sauce and honey wasabi. The portion was huge and really could have fed 2 people. I enjoyed it but found the sauces over the top a bit too much. It was spice but not too hot. Glad I tried it but would opt for something different next time and surely not as large! Last thing ordered was the Hibachi Combo Yakisoba dinner entree. Had it not been for the large previous roll I ate I would have devoured this as it was fresh off the hibachi grill and full of shrimp and beef as well as a lively assortment of crisp vegetables. It came with a pleasant miso soup, the perfect thing between courses. Alas, I ended up taking half of my yakisoba home for a future lunch. The restaurant is nicely decorated, very clean and sharp. You can sit at at table, booth or at the bar, I chose a table. Restrooms were clean and easy to find. In the end my lovely dinner was just under $100 plus a 20% tip for great service so not a place you might go to casually in regard to cost but still worth the trip as everything was fresh and well presented.

Our server's demeanor came across as rude at times, although it's possible she may have been new. For example, when she asked if we were ready to order, we began listing our items, but she abruptly told us to hold on because she wasn't ready. Later, when I finished my tea, she informed me that refills would cost extra, which I didn't mind paying for, but the way it was communicated felt unnecessarily harsh. To add to that, when I tried to pay with Apple Pay, her card reader wasn't working properly, and instead of resolving it at the table, she asked me to get up and pay at the front register. Overall, the food was excellent, but the service and communication could use improvement. A more welcoming and patient approach would make a big difference in the overall experience.

Sushi was cut in smaller than normal sizes and the rolls were not as tightly done as they could have been so they fell apart very easily. We were with a large party and had a variety of rolls including Barker roll, Hawaiian roll, Shaggy Dog, Naruto roll, Hamachi roll, caterpillar roll and King Kong roll. We also had several appetizers like gyoza and a really terrific cream cheese puffs which were both amazing. Overall, the experience was just average. Nothing great beyond the appetizers. Nothing wrong with them, just not enough to bring us back. We will continue to search for our favorite sushi in Cypress. read more

Absolutely love this place. We have come in several time to sit at the bar and take advantage of the byob. The sushi is super fresh and tastes amazing. The staff is very friendly and the owner is always walking around ensuring everyone is enjoying their selves. My last visit was on New Years Eve 5 minutes before they closed to get take out. I felt bad ordering when I new everyone wanted to leave but they made me feel very welcomed and not at all like a burden. Definitely my go to sushi place.
