We do pickup from here at least once a week. The sushi is always fresh. We also enjoy the shrimp fried rice. The mango tea is a great addition to any meal. The waitstaff is always friendly. The one thing i really appreciate is they label everything on takeout orders so there's no confusion on what goes with what. As a family we order normally order the chicken tempura appetizer which comes with tempura veggies, as well. 1-2 fried rice normally chicken and shrimp sometimes beef, and a few rolls. I am so happy I was able to try this little gem before leaving the Cypress area!!! Everything from the warm greetings to the cute decor made the ambiance great. My husband and I took advantage of the HH menu (3-630 pm Mon- Sat??). I really enjoyed the Hot girl roll, the crazy tuna roll (fav roll), calamari, edamame, house salads, and a variety of sushi pieces. My absolute fav was the WHITE TUNA!!!!! Not sure why this place doesn't have more customers when we have been there. We have eaten here about 10 times since moving to Houston area and it's always been really good and decent pricing. Ordered sushi from Gina Japanese last night. Called for take out and dinner was ready in about 15 minutes. Employees and guests are required to wear masks and they are not serving customers at their sushi bar. There are a couple of seats outside, which would be nice with a byob bottle of saki when the temperatures in Houston start to cool off. Dinner was packed beautifully and was delicious. I ordered the Trio Sushi Dinner. Three pieces of tuna, salmon and yellowtail sushi and a spicy tuna roll served with miso soup and salad with ginger dressing. And I ordered the Gyoza, pan fried pork dumplings. My husband and I shared the take out and found it was more than enough for the two of us. I brought my Ma and Gramps out for lunch. Since he's moved down here, I've been taking him out to different places to try new foods and whatnot. He wasn't sure if he was about the sushi or not, so we gave it a shot. None of us had been to this joint before, so it was nice for everyone to try something new. Of course I order far more than I need to, and ate all of it. I go the gym so I can eat. It is known. Started with Edamame which is always a solid. Gramps was about it. We also ordered the Calamari. Normally I'm not a fan of the large rings, but this was really cooked well, and I enjoyed. Ma and gramps did as well. Appetizers = Great. For the main eats, Gramps got the chicken Katsu dinner portion, and my Ma and I stuck with the Sushi. I get my manners, and the bottomless pit of a stomach from my gramps. He of course kept eating our food, and ended up bring his own home in a box. He now likes sushi. We ordered the King Crab Role, very good. Shrimp tempura, fresh mango topped with spicy king crab & tobiko. Normally I don't do shrimp or crab, but I wanted to get something gramps might enjoy if he wasn't about the raw fish. That man treated it like finger food and just kept scooping them up. Lover Roll was very good, Tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado & asparagus with soy paper. Marina Bay Roll was probably my favorite. Tuna, salmon, mango inside, topped with spicy salmon & sliced avocado. All of us enjoyed it. I had a spider handroll on the side for myself, it was on-point. The food was fantastic. Ya'll know I'm about the service, and I think service here was above par. Henry was everywhere. He had the menu knowledge, he made sure everyone had what they needed, and frequently stopped by to check. Great attitude great service. Only two items of contention. The price was a bit high $17 a roll for crab and shrimp is a bit steep. Price is what took the last star. There is competition that is cheaper around that area. Other item is that the tea cups don't have handles. That's not abnormal or a problem for me. However, rolling with the old man, he had to use a towel to pick up the cup because it was a bit too hot for him to handle. This is one of those things that I never would have thought of without having been there to experience it. Worth having a small set with handles for those that need it, I think. Great place, need to come back for lunch or happy hour. read more

Well, this was supposed to be one of the top sushi restaurants in Cypress, but when I arrived on a Friday night, I wondered why there were no cars in front, only 2 tables of customers and 1 sushi chef. To summarize my review, I had nowhere near a 4.5 star experience. I perused the menu and saw the prices weren't bad, so I went ahead and ordered my usual items. I had the yellowtail app, nigiri consisting of yellowtail, salmon, sea bass, mackeral, and tuna. For the rolls, I had a summer roll and crazy tuna roll. The app came out and seemed cut wrong, was paper thin, but tasted good with decent heat from sliced Serrano and drop of sriracha. The nigiri was a disaster since all pieces were small, thin and most didn't seem very fresh. The mackeral was a standard salt preserved piece, but not that fresh. The sea bass was 2nd and the worst one. It tasted like i just licked the inside of a refrigerator. The tuna wasn't that good, salmon wasn't fresh, but the last one, yellow tail was good again. The rolls I had were a crap shoot. The crazy tuna roll was just a fancier spicy tuna roll, but for twice the price. It was ok, if you like spicy tuna. The summer roll was surprisingly good, even though I don't typically like those ingredients separately. Crab mix, cream cheese, etc. Don't see myself returning anytime soon. But for those that do, they have a special for BOGO 50% on house special rolls all day Tuesday. read more

The rice could be warmer and a little bit better flavored but other than that well-made. The sashimi is well cut and good quality, the Ngiri is extremely good. We came here to try out the ramen. They have two offerings - Spicy Miso Ramen and Tonkatsu Ramen. It's not on their regular menu, but written up on the board at the back of the restaurant. Unlike specialized ramen restaurants, there are no options here for additional noodles or toppings. Fortunately, you do get a decent sized portion for $10.95. Each big bowl even comes with a whole egg, instead of just half that other places typically provide. Both types of ramen here are served with the thick wrinkled noodles (which we like), instead of the thinner straight noodles that are typically found in Tonkatsu Ramen. Overall, we enjoyed the ramen here. One star is deducted for inconsistency in the Tonkatsu Ramen. We ordered two bowls, and the broth in one was surprisingly much saltier than the other. read more

Ginza has been my secret sushi spot for sometime, but I can't hold back on sharing this great spot. Not a huge spot for big groups, but a lunch party of 3 to 4 is ideal. The sushi is always fresh and made to perfection!!! My go to sushi roll is the "shaggy dog" and on the side i order the shu mai (Japanese shrimp dumpling).... the restaurant is very clean and does not have an irritable odor which some sushi spots tend to have. You must try the eel sauce for the shu Mai it just brings the tangy, honey, and soy mixed together. I will return for a date night or a small lunch with my team from work. read more

My server informed me of all the freshest menu items that came in today and I already had a pretty good idea of what I wanted... but he changed my mind and so I decided to try out some of the things he recommended.
