At my first appointment, Dr. Tester told me I had glaucoma, handed me a pamphlet, said come back in 2 months, and walked out of the room. No " this is what the treatments (if any) are; this is what you can expect." Apparently couldn't spare 5 minutes to give me information on what I was facing, treatments, etc. So, for 2 months I dealt with the dread of going blind, relying on the internet for information on prognoses and treatment. At my follow-up appointment, 2 months later, he told me that I don't have glaucoma. But that I have blepharesis ( sp?) and handed me a pamphlet explaining the symptoms, NONE of which I have! I understand you must've answered the question I had a million times, but please do not cut me off while I am talking. I did not appreciate the way i was responded. I am a loyal customer to Costco and a future patient with the optical dept. Pam needs re-training how to answer calls. I also work in the medical field... so if patients may have questions, specially pertaining to how to save a couple of bucks for lenses, help the member out nicely is the least you can do, Pam! Thank you for answering my question though, and yes you did save me a trip, but in the future, have the decency to be corteous enough over the phone. The gal on Saturday who had was professional and me was super helpful and even went above and beyond to write down a rough estimate on how much i needed to pay out of pocket. Now that is the Costco customer service! But having an employee like Pam just ruins the outlook of the optical team.

I was basically ignored for about 45 minutes until someone opened the door and said oh, I didn't know you were waiting. They apparently lost me in the system, and no one came to do my eye exam. Went in for an eye exam, and it was an extremely smooth process. The doc was extremely knowledgeable and even explained certain things about my eyes that no one has ever taken the time to do before. Other experiences I've had were all about getting you in and out as fast as they could, but not here. He took his time to explain what he was doing and why. I like that in a Doc. When I went to pick out my frames, my better half was not with me, and I typically always ask for her approval on something I liked. So, I went off the recommendation of the employee helping me (didn't grab his name). I tried several pairs on, and he said there was one that popped. Which was good because I liked it, but wasn't too sure. He said it was a a perfect fit and style for my noggin... so I went with it. Of course got all the upgrades, and let me tell you... I can't count on my toes and fingers, and yours too on how many compliments I got on these Holbrook Oakleys!! People loved it, my wife loved it, more importantly... I loved them! I would only recommend going here if you have full medical/vision coverage…read more I paid out of pocket for my son and he got glasses (over $1000 with lenses), exactly one year later they recommended a different type of lens/same prescription, some wipes, and over the counter eye drops ($1300), they told me to come back for a follow up which consisted of him reading one single eye chart with an assistant and talking to the doctor for less than 5 minutes ($100). These were all paid at time of service which supposedly includes a discount. I was told previously that follow ups were free, so the added $100 after being robbed for $1300 just to toss the existing expensive lens he had (unless I wanted to buy another frame $$) was the last straw. I imagine all of the good reviews are coming from people with insurance that aren't seeing the insanely inflated costs of everything they are billing for. Absolutely insane, will not be back

They truly care for their patients and don't force you to pay more than you can afford which I appreciate. I go to get my annual eye exam due to my diabetes. To schedule an appointment with them is very easy too, I was able to do it online quick and easy. My eye exams do not take longer than the amount shown on their scheduling. Plus they will even take you in a bit earlier if they are able to! The receptionist and the other staff members are very professional and friendly too. The space is organized and clean as well. They seem to have quite the gallery of glasses that you can peruse. Overall a great location that accepts Medicaid, which is very helpful.

The optometrist told me the reason the left lens wasn't working for me was the fact that I was pushing my glasses up on my nose using my finger on the bridge of the glasses instead of using both hands to grab on each side of my glasses and pushing them up. What did how I adjusted my glasses on my nose have to do with a blurry lens? No answer. Will NEVER go back!
