I came from Montgomery because the price of the Silverado was too good for me to miss out on. I told Jonathan Short that I had to get to the Barrons game that night and I was in a hurry. He made sure that the paperwork side of things was completely taken care of and I was only there for 30 minutes. Car buying great. Service for 2026 Equinox not so much. After a little less than 3K mi I got a battery fault notice. The car is locked up and I was told to tow to dealership. The tow driver could not get the car out of the garage. I called the dealership for help and I was connected to an A-I which was no help. It would connect me to service and hung up. When I called back straight to A-I to pleasantly repeated the same questions and result. I have a big gray, iorn, $35K paperweight in my garage and I need help from a person. They say they'll call when the part comes in or the vehicle is ready and they don't call. they wait for you to call them. You will always be turned away and told one is there or they are busy. I can you they are not busy helping anyone! I was emailed a survey from Chevrolet so I'll copy and paste what I wrote to them there. Read to the end. I had to have my Traverse towed somewhere so I figured taking it to a Chevy dealership would be the most sensible thing to do. I figured I could trust them to do the right thing. Boy was I wrong. I spoke with Matt in the service department and mentioned to him that it was likely just a fuse. He laughed it off and said it was probably something more serious because it was always something more serious. When I went to pick it up, turns out it was just a fuse. But I was charged $220 for the "repair". he could tell I was not happy and wouldn't make eye contact. I am still not happy. But, I made the mistake of having it towed to your dealership. I knew I had to pay the bill otherwise I could not have my vehicle back. So, an expensive lesson learned. Don't trust your dealership. And because of this, I won't ever consider having work done by your shop and forget buying from you. That will never happen. Now, to get to what really bugs me. I was told by Matt that the vehicle also needed new brakes and rotors. Which was almost a $1000 repair. I thought to myself that had he not charged me $220 for a fuse, I might have had them do the brakes. I'm glad I didn't. I took it directly that day to a brake repair shop. Fully expecting to have the brakes done. They called me up less than an hour later after doing an inspection and told me I did not need rotors or pads. Everything was fine and I actually had quite a bit of life left on them. So, your dealership is not very reputable. And even though you may have squeezed a couple hundred dollars out of me, I'm gonna make sure people know what you did. Look up the term penny wise but dollar foolish. Worst experience I've ever had at any place of business. It's literally been 7 months of hell dealing with this incompetent, shady ass service department (Just Randy, Charles, Chris, the GM Kevin, and Nick who is no longer there). Customer service is terrible, you won't get no updates on your vehicle, they make you wait so long to get your car to the point you might think it's not even yours anymore. Then the GM Kevin just gives you discounts but doesn't fix the racism and incompetence of this place. From Charles, Chris chewing and spitting tobacco all around the place, even Kevin himself. So beware going here if you're African American because they'll just send you to the only black person in the service department Randy to try to soothe things while they continue to try to take your hard earned money. Plus his service and communication sucks as well. I genuinely thought it could get no worse than Hendrick Chevrolet but they make them look like a 5 star dealership. I wish I could give them a negative rating because they don't even deserve a zero. The service department here is horrible. I currently have my car in the service dept for the same issue for the 3rd time. The first time the earnings lights were still on when I picked it up. The second time within 15 miles. I left 4 messages asking for updates and only the last one was returned, because I called the service manager directly. This time I have the general manager involved. I can't recommend this place at all. Update. Latest repair is two weeks in. Getting updates but no resolution for this warranty repair. Chevy is supposed to provide courtesy cars. They can't because they don't have the inventory. Chevy has a work around with enterprise car rental to provide Chevy rentals. With chevys low on inventory this affects this also. Show I know of Chevy dealerships that are even providing enterprise rentals from other manufacturers. This dealership has done none of that for me. I have been weeks and weeks in rentals. This doesn't say much for this dealership. Even in the reply is says contact me. Contact who? Leave your name and phone number like other responsible management does on these reviews. read more

I will never use the service department again. They replaced the battery in my Tahoe 2 weeks ago and then it completely died on me on 280. I had it towed in using the company they suggested and the tow company billed them for the service. Upon evaluation, the battery they had installed was defective. They gave me a new battery but then made me pay for the towing. I questioned this and they said they did not know the battery was defective and they were only responsible for giving me a new battery and the fact that it was completely dead and had to be towed was my problem. No apology for the inconvenience or anything. Seemed more like I was inconveniencing them. HORRIBLE customer service. read more

I'm looking for a 2019 Camaro 2ss. I called in noon to check availability. I made a reservation for the test drive same day at afternoon. The salesman told me the car has been hold for me and will be ready around 4 pm. My friend and I drove 1 hr in the raining day from Tuscaloosa to the dealership. When we arrived, the sells manager directly came out and told me the car has been sold at few mins ago. I even never met the salesman who contacted me. The manager said he could order a new one but I had to do all the paper work and promised I will get the car from him. I don't know if this is normal in US. That was totally a bad experience. I would not refer anyone here. At least not for a used vehicle. Our sales person was great but everyone other that him has not been. I understand when we bought our car that we buy as is with a used vehicle, but to pull off the lot and one hour later have to pull on the side of the interstate because our windshield wipers don't work at all and we was stuck in a pouring rain. I will also say this place is 40 minutes from my home and 1 hour and 15 minutes from my work. I was told to come there for the situation could be fixed. I leave work and I get all the way there and was told no one was there to look at it. Then two weeks ago my check engine light came on so we made an appointment to get it looked at. We get there and are told that the Warranty that as told to us was bumper to bumper for 2 years, would not cover the issue. Then we are told that we should have been getting the oil changed every 4,000 miles when we were told when buying that we we would need to come every 5,000-7,000 miles. So this has me looking over my paperwork and yeah that "2 year warranty" nope it's 2 years or 30,000 miles. That was NOT told to us or it would have been pointless for us to buy. I drive 70 miles daily, so we would go through those miles before the first year was over. So we added a $60 extra charge on our payment that won't even cover the issues we have and will expire soon because we are close to the expiration miles for nothing really. This place does not disclose information properly or tell you how to take care of your specific vehicle. I will never buy any vehicle with this place again and would not suggest anyone to. Which is sad because our Sales person was actually nice and helpful, it's just everyone else there. read more

We are a military family and contacted the dealership in advance, made arrangements to drive over three hours to come trade for a new truck. They did not bother to notify us until 10 minutes before appointment time that the truck had been sold, and did nothing to make it right. I will never do business with them. We even told them we were scheduling in advance to ensure we did not waste a three plus hour trip and they still did not let us know the truck sold the night before. When I left I realized Jason in the finance department had charged me $2,250 for an extended warranty that I didn't ask for and it was never mentioned by anyone. Recall Experience Not Good! The problem I had was I took my 2010 Chevy Impala in for the switch recall. When I got to the service department they asked for all keys. I only had one not my spare, this needs to be mentioned in the letter or when you call for an appointment you need to be informed then. I just purchased a 2014 equinox at a local dodge dealership. on my way home the service engine light came on. the dealership told me they would take care of the issue and set me up an appointment at Edward's Chevrolet 280. I bring the car in and they state they have to replace all the fuel injectors and intake gaskets. As they are finishing with my car the service writer T.J tells me dont mind the gas smell they had to work on a gas tank next to my car. that's fine I reply. Later that day my car is hesitant to start and the fuel smell is getting worse. I turn the car off and pop the hood and record video of gurgling sound and fuel leaking on to the engine and smoking. Day two at the shop and missing work they tell me everything is fine and that there is a foam piece that was soaked in gas but assure me everything was done correctly until I bring out the video. So I'm still waiting to see what is going to come of this and hope the repair was done correctly this time. Also, the service manager Tracy didn't care that I have to drive a car they messed up to the dealership that has gas leaking on the engine and electronics. Luckily no explosion. They will allow you to leave the lot, purchase insurance on the automobile, allow you to drive it for several weeks and then tell you they couldn't get you financed and then ask you to return the car! They will run your credit through so many banks that it makes it almost impossible for you to purchase a car from somewhere else!! Poor relationship with this place. I had a terrible experience in the service department and an even worse one speaking to the service manager regarding it. After well over an hour of waiting (for an oil change and a small recall repair of a brake light) and then being quickly shuffled over to the cashier, I asked the service advisor what was concluded regarding the error code I had received on my dash the day before. The service advisor had no idea what I was talking about, which also happened to be the primary reason for my appointment. This was also the first issue mentioned when making the appointment. When it was realized that the car had to go back to be looked at once again, the service advisor became really short with me. Not 20 minutes later, the service advisor came back with a total dollar amount written on a sticky note and I was told it was the battery. When I began to ask questions is where the trouble began. I was told that my vehicle took a "special" battery. So special that none of my questions regarding this battery could be answered by the SERVICE ADVISOR. "It must be an amperage or voltage thing" was the response I was given. I was also told that the noise I was hearing was my hubcap. Well, I definitely know that isn't the case. Against my better judgment, I moved forward with the battery replacement as I have a long distance road trip within a few days and don't have much time to prepare for it as it is. When I attempted to inquire further about the type of battery and the warranty, I was given the battery part number on a sticky note (the very same part number listed on the invoice), something was mumbled regarding 30 months and quickly ushered over to the cashier. Had to go home and lift the hood to discover what battery was installed and after some research, found that there isn't anything special about it at all. Plus I found that Autozone sells the same battery for $22 less than I was charged at this dealership. Autozone also installs it for free and I was charged $42 for installation. Not only that, the oil change reminder sticker had a box checked indicating that my tires needed attention soon. The tires were replaced last year and have less than 5k miles on them. Truly shameful. When I called the service manager to relay my dissatisfaction with my experience, I was told that the miscommunication regarding the appointment's purpose was due to the call center and then he tried to explain why the service advisor couldn't answer my questions by saying, "to put it in terms that you'll understand, buying a car battery is alot like buying shoes..." Wait. What??? When I told him that I would be much more knowledgeable about buying car batteries than shoes, he became very defensive and started talking over me. All I needed to hear was an apology for the experience and that he would talk to the service advisor about being more professional and informative. Truly. But to deflect any responsibility, to make those remarks and treat a customer in such a manner??? Hmmm. I then called the customer relations department to see if there was someone else I could speak to and informed them of how the service manager responded. She laughed and said "what's sexist about that? Both sexes wear shoes." She then became very condescending and kept repeating that she didn't understand my problem. In short, if you want an informed experience regarding what is wrong with your vehicle, what exactly you are being charged for in a professional and respectful manner, DO NOT go to Edwards Chevrolet 280. If this what was experienced during a simple battery replacement, imagine if it was a serious issue involving big dollars. read more

Came out on a lunch break go look at some specific stock numbers found online. We wanted a used 2016 with low mileage, which there were 2 on the lot. The salesman Alex White redirected us to a 2017 saying we'd get a better deal since it had $8K in rebates. We also advised him that we had financing already and only wanted a certain about of vehicle and had a trade and it's KBB value of which we already knew. Well, after he showed us the 2017, I reiterated this vehicle is ABOVE what we wish to pay. He insisted and proceeded to "work a deal". On the inside we waited at his desk, all for him to come back with $12K OVER what we said. Total waste of time, so we left. Next day, sales manager Travis Boyd called begging us to give them a chance to make things right, saying he understood that we had already visited another local Chevrolet dealership and wasted 4 hours of our time with the addition of multiple credit pulls. He proceeded to ask if we could do without certain features and focus on a vehicle $5K less than what was presented to us the date before. After a 15 minute conversation, reassuring me of what he could do, we gathered 2 stock numbers online which met the criteria of which he mentioned. After which, we returned to the dealership with those numbers and Travis advised us that the vehicle of choice was located at their other dealership downtown and that he'd send salesman Alex to pick it up. From that point, we called our bank and began running numbers with them. Travis then insisted he gather our information assuring us he could do better than what we was presented with our bank. So, again for the second time our credit was ran and shopped around. After sitting 2 hours at salesman Alex's desk, I walked over and asked for an update but there wasn't one. I was told it they were working on it. I had to leave to pick up our son from school, and this took an additional 2 hours. Before going directly home, I made a call to Travis & Alex to see if I needed to come back by. I was told the banks were closed for the day and they would get back with us tomorrow. So here we are day 3 around 11am and hadn't received one call from Alex or Travis. After getting Alex on the phone, he said he would find out what's going on and call us back. I asked would this be within the next hour, he said yes. 2 hours went by, so we called them all to be told that the vehicle we wanted was sold last night. So, we went back to the dealership to ask if they could work a deal with the vehicle they have on their lot that was presented to us on day 1. It was a difference of $3K in rebates from the one that was "sold" last night and the one on their lot. Well, we thought we'll for the inconvenience and 3 days of run around we'd get some kind of customer service. However, when I got to the dealership, I was told by Alex who didn't seem interested in talking with me, that he was unsure of what was going on. So Travis walks up smiling, tries to hug me (very unprofessional) and tells me the vehicle I wanted was sold and that he'd continue to work on getting me one. I asked could you work out someone with the one you have and we can purchase today instead of dragging this on any further. He tells me no, that basically I'm asking for too much, he's not doing it, and my payment would increase $255 for $3,000 difference in price between the two. I then asked for the head manager of sales, he tells me you're looking at him, all for me to walk out the door and ask an innocent salesman who the head sales manager(s) are and then names were Patrick & Dave, neither of which are him. I told Travis, it's clear you guys really don't want to work with us and have wasted 3 days of our time of which you promised you wouldn't do and would prefer that I walk out the door. His response, well have a good day! The sad part is that I drove to Edwards downtown immediately afterwards and the exact truck (stock number matched) was sitting right out front. We were also able to purchase the vehicle with the terms and payment we wanted, without the lies and run around the same day! It's pretty clear to me this dealership had no intentions on selling us anything, wasted our time and more credit pulls, talked bad about the other Chevy dealers in the area, but has the worst customer service I've seen in my 10 years experience in purchasing vehicles. read more

I've called 4 times over the past 3 hours and nobody is answering the phones. I've left repeated messages with no response. I feel like they've stolen my vehicle. We did not feel stalked by salesmen when we first arrived but were helped promptly. Our salesman, Todd Workman, never once pushed us towards any vehicle that he knew we weren't interested in. He was very professional and very courteous. He was very knowledgeable about the vehicle we were there to consider purchasing. We never felt rushed or like we were obligated to buy from Edwards. Todd made us feel like family rather than "just a customer or number". After we purchased the vehicle, Todd took the time to show us to the maintenance department and introduce us to the workers in there and let them tell us a little about the oil changes and tire rotation, and then Todd showed us around the rest of the dealership. He didn't rush us through like so many dealers will do, he really took the time to know us and understand our needs. I'm only giving them one star because 1 is required to write the review. While they did do me right on my deal; I bought a new truck from them in late 2014. It was a fully loaded crew cab truck. Had no issues with them on that deal. Well, I wrecked that truck & not very bad (enough to think it was totaled) but there was frame damage. Allstate's policy is that they don't repair vehicles with frame damage, so the guy at the body shop told me that it was totaled & that Allstate would be making a direct deposit into my account for the settlement amount. Longer story shortened, I went to Edwards again & bought a 2011 fully loaded heavier duty truck. This truck had a few problems but it had 84k miles on it. It was a diesel or I wouldn't have even considered it. First off, they did not complete the GM required inspection, which includes new brakes, changing fluids, and especially making sure the vehicle is roadworthy and in good shape. Well, when I got it the first time, the USB port to hook a iPod, iPhone, etc. to the stereo so you could listen to music. Well I never took delivery of the truck bc I asked them to have that fixed, the driver door latch was acting funny and had slack in it, the tires were slap worn out on it, and there was an O2 sensor that was literally causing the engine to shut down because it was telling the computer that it was low on exhaust fluid, so I asked them to fix that also. And lastly, the rims on it were corroded terribly & I asked them what they would do about it? They said it was just blemished and they would polish it out and this was on all 4 20" rims. In the meantime, I found out that the body shop had decided against totaling it & replaced the entire frame on the truck, so the $10,000 down payment check I wrote them was returned and I was stuck with 2 trucks, 2 insurance payments, and a check I didn't have the means to cover at the time and when they found out about it, they halted the repairs (which is stupid because even if I hadn't been able to live up to my word and purchase the truck, they should've fixed it for the next potential buyer if nothing else) but I brought them all the money I had at the time and a consigner & we re-did the entire purchase & contract. Keep in mind this went on over the period of a month, because I was in the hospital. I did take delivery of the truck the first time for a couple of days, but I took it in for them to fix all of the things that they had promised to repair. Well, I took delivery again & I work out of that truck, so I can't let them have it for long periods of time. Anyway, the promise to fix it was supposedly still in effect & the sunroof motor burned out, & the reason I was trying to close the sunroof was because it was starting to rain. Anyway, I had it towed to Courtesy GMC & they wouldn't touch it because they thought Edwards should have taken care of it. Well when I took it in for the O2 sensor & the sunroof, I talked to several people up there when I had to get the tow truck to pick it up from Trussville & take it to their 280 location. Whoever I talked to told me that they had spoken with Dave, the sales manager, and that they were going to take care of everything. Well, the truck was useless with the sunroof stuck open, and it took them over 3 weeks to fix it. I don't believe that for one minute, but I was under the impression that they were also fixing everything else that they had promised. I get up there to pick it up & ask for my keys & they tell me to see the cashier. So I go to the cashier & she pulls up an invoice for $1900 +\- and I asked her what the deal was & the service writer knew the situation well, and he told me that they didn't know anything about it and that I needed to talk to Dave. Well I went in Dave's office and amazingly he knows nothing about it either. The girl I talked to about all of it and making sure they fixed it all while they were up there either lied about it, or she's just like all the rest of them. They tell you anything and everything you want to hear and once you take delivery, good luck! Because I tried to get in touch with Mr. Edwards, but was unable to because everyone at both stores act like there is no Mr. Edwards. It's not named Edwards Chevy because of a guy with the first name Edward! I called GMC's executive offices to inform them of the situation and see if there was anything they were willing to do, and the funny thing is that the rep told me he didn't believe that nobody would return my calls & they always act like they don't know what the heck you're talking about. Well he put me on hold & he came back on the line thinking I was Edwards & he said I don't know what the problem is. I've got it pulled up on my computer right here and have all of his info, the odometer reading when it was sold and so on.
