We did not feel stalked by salesmen when we first arrived but were helped promptly. Our salesman, Todd Workman, never once pushed us towards any vehicle that he knew we weren't interested in. He was very professional and very courteous. He was very knowledgeable about the vehicle we were there to consider purchasing. We never felt rushed or like we were obligated to buy from Edwards. Todd made us feel like family rather than "just a customer or number". After we purchased the vehicle, Todd took the time to show us to the maintenance department and introduce us to the workers in there and let them tell us a little about the oil changes and tire rotation, and then Todd showed us around the rest of the dealership. He didn't rush us through like so many dealers will do, he really took the time to know us and understand our needs. I'm only giving them one star because 1 is required to write the review. While they did do me right on my deal; I bought a new truck from them in late 2014. It was a fully loaded crew cab truck. Had no issues with them on that deal. Well, I wrecked that truck & not very bad (enough to think it was totaled) but there was frame damage. Allstate's policy is that they don't repair vehicles with frame damage, so the guy at the body shop told me that it was totaled & that Allstate would be making a direct deposit into my account for the settlement amount. Longer story shortened, I went to Edwards again & bought a 2011 fully loaded heavier duty truck. This truck had a few problems but it had 84k miles on it. It was a diesel or I wouldn't have even considered it. First off, they did not complete the GM required inspection, which includes new brakes, changing fluids, and especially making sure the vehicle is roadworthy and in good shape. Well, when I got it the first time, the USB port to hook a iPod, iPhone, etc. to the stereo so you could listen to music. Well I never took delivery of the truck bc I asked them to have that fixed, the driver door latch was acting funny and had slack in it, the tires were slap worn out on it, and there was an O2 sensor that was literally causing the engine to shut down because it was telling the computer that it was low on exhaust fluid, so I asked them to fix that also. And lastly, the rims on it were corroded terribly & I asked them what they would do about it? They said it was just blemished and they would polish it out and this was on all 4 20" rims. In the meantime, I found out that the body shop had decided against totaling it & replaced the entire frame on the truck, so the $10,000 down payment check I wrote them was returned and I was stuck with 2 trucks, 2 insurance payments, and a check I didn't have the means to cover at the time and when they found out about it, they halted the repairs (which is stupid because even if I hadn't been able to live up to my word and purchase the truck, they should've fixed it for the next potential buyer if nothing else) but I brought them all the money I had at the time and a consigner & we re-did the entire purchase & contract. Keep in mind this went on over the period of a month, because I was in the hospital. I did take delivery of the truck the first time for a couple of days, but I took it in for them to fix all of the things that they had promised to repair. Well, I took delivery again & I work out of that truck, so I can't let them have it for long periods of time. Anyway, the promise to fix it was supposedly still in effect & the sunroof motor burned out, & the reason I was trying to close the sunroof was because it was starting to rain. Anyway, I had it towed to Courtesy GMC & they wouldn't touch it because they thought Edwards should have taken care of it. Well when I took it in for the O2 sensor & the sunroof, I talked to several people up there when I had to get the tow truck to pick it up from Trussville & take it to their 280 location. Whoever I talked to told me that they had spoken with Dave, the sales manager, and that they were going to take care of everything. Well, the truck was useless with the sunroof stuck open, and it took them over 3 weeks to fix it. I don't believe that for one minute, but I was under the impression that they were also fixing everything else that they had promised. I get up there to pick it up & ask for my keys & they tell me to see the cashier. So I go to the cashier & she pulls up an invoice for $1900 +\- and I asked her what the deal was & the service writer knew the situation well, and he told me that they didn't know anything about it and that I needed to talk to Dave. Well I went in Dave's office and amazingly he knows nothing about it either. The girl I talked to about all of it and making sure they fixed it all while they were up there either lied about it, or she's just like all the rest of them. They tell you anything and everything you want to hear and once you take delivery, good luck! Because I tried to get in touch with Mr. Edwards, but was unable to because everyone at both stores act like there is no Mr. Edwards. It's not named Edwards Chevy because of a guy with the first name Edward! I called GMC's executive offices to inform them of the situation and see if there was anything they were willing to do, and the funny thing is that the rep told me he didn't believe that nobody would return my calls & they always act like they don't know what the heck you're talking about. Well he put me on hold & he came back on the line thinking I was Edwards & he said I don't know what the problem is. I've got it pulled up on my computer right here and have all of his info, the odometer reading when it was sold and so on. I told him that it as me, the customer, and he said well I'll be damned, they told me they couldn't find the sale in their system & they hung up on him! Crooks & Thieves!! read more

I purchased a vehicle from Edwards 280 in February 2016. Wasn't the vehicle that I truly wanted but was in a position I had to get what I could. I was told by Eddie the sales person I worked with, that after driving for a year and making all payments on time, I could come back and trade it in for something I wanted. CROCK OF CRAP. I am now 9,000 upside down in the vehicle and cant get out of it to save my life. Edwards and everyone else says there is nothing that can be done. I am convinced when selling me the vehicle they knew that I was screwed and would not be able to get out of it. I will never recommend Edwards Chevrolet to anyone else! read more

I went because we key was getting stuck in the ignition and no diagnosis or solution was found so I've basically had to pay for nothing. My key is stil getting stuck in the ignition. I haven't had the car long enough to be having these kind of issues. I don't like how the merchandise is not back with warranty and I hate I even bought the car in the first place. I called less than a week ago about a purchasing a Chevrolet Spark and was given an amazing price over the phone and told to come see them. A salesman immediately greeted me when I arrived and brought me back into his office so I could close on the deal I spoke about on the phone. I had a blank check and was not financing. I expected everything to go smoothly until his manager slid in to inform me that the vehicle I wanted had been recalled. From there it was pressure tactics to try and get me to buy another car that I did not need or want. Every sleazy sales tactic was used to try and pressure me into a car. First, I was told that a car was available that was not just to get my foot in the door. Secondly, I was kept waiting for an answer just to try and sell me into something I did not need. Finally, there was the arms folded hulking salesman to try and intimidate and pressure me. When I informed them I would not purchase from them I was only met with snobbery. They only cared about my money and when their scam sales tactics did not work they could not see me leave fast enough. There was no handshake, apology, thanks for coming by, walking me out, etc, it was just silence as he folded his arms and glared at me. I wasted several hours of my day because the dealership found it better to lie to me than be honest about their inventory. I ended up buying the exact car I needed at Adamson West in Bessemer. Do yourself a favor and do not believe any ads or information that Edwards Chevrolet on 280 tells you. It is all a ploy to get you in the door to try and take every penny. read more

I have been pleased with the service I received at Edward Chevrolet enough to return for all my maintenance and repair needs. James Whitehead always remembers me, deals with me in a fair and friendly way, and makes me want to return to Edwards for service next time. Devon, the driver who shuttled me to work this time, was also very courteous and pleasant. Both of these gentlemen made me feel like a valued customer. I had a not so good experience with Edwards on Saturday, but they reached out to me on Monday and by Tuesday I was in the car I wanted with a great deal. I really appreciate the management team there and the salesmen in how they truly made me feel valued and appreciated. I had the sweetest kindest salesman, Ron and even though he was new he did a great job. I was also amazed at the Team oriented environment. Since my salesman was new he wasn't familiar with some things such as OnStar but others chipped in to help out and made it a breeze.
