    Bar and inside dinner area

We were in the area and found this pet friendly Thai fusion place. They have a full bar and inside seating, outside patio, and covered patio to choose from. We sat in the covered patio with our pup which was comfy and semi private, perfect for our pup. Menu is simple and focus on what they are focused on Thai & Texas bbq style. We ordered sweet n sour fried chicken for appetizer, yummy. Smoked pork belly krapro and massaman lamb shoulder. They came with rice and were tasty. Krapro was a bit on small portion but ok for us. They have some signature cocktails which sound good, but no cocktails has Thai liquor involved. So I just ordered Thai ice tea. Service was good, friendly and attentive.

Ambiance: Very well lit and warm. It's inviting and pretty loud, but it looks like it's a very popular place. We were visiting and was told that the drinks here are very good. They have big windows that open up and a bar area with hooks to put your things. Service: We sat at the bar area since we didn't have a reservation right in front of the employee sink. I will say that as an observational person, I noticed a lot of female employees washing their hands, but very few male employees washing their hands. I was glad to have a female server. She followed up often with drinks, which was fantastic. Food: We got the Kingston Fix slushy tiki drinks and those were good. Nice and refreshing for the hot day. Sweet and sour fried chicken - the small was plenty for us, since we had been snacking all day. They were lightly breaded, very crispy, and not heavily drenched in sauce, but still very flavorful. White curry with brisket burnt ends - light curry taste and the pieces of brisket made this dish so robust. The brisket was a bit crunchy at the tips, but it fell apart in your mouth and wasn't chewy or tough. Overall wonderful experience. My dudes - please wash your hands. (We were there ~45 minutes and one dude with glasses washed his hands twice. I didn't see any other dude wash, but maybe there's another sink elsewhere.)

Such a different type of Thai fusion and I really enjoyed it. We ordered the beet salad which was so flavorful, it was like their take on larb salad. The burn ends white curry with as my favorite. The pork belly krapow I couldn't done without. It was good but it was kind of basic. I wish we got the fried chicken. Everyone around us was ordering it but it was a bit portion.

You can literally not go wrong with anything at Eem. Came here for lunch on Monday with a group of friends before our drive back home to Seattle. A friend was hyping this place up and it did not disappoint. Everything was fantastic and tasted great! Good portions as well. We almost tried everything on the menu lol and each item was a hit. Definitely will be back. We didn't have to wait long because we made a reservation for their opening time but i hear wait times can be up to an hour during dinner rush. Service was great and the inside was clean and nicely decorated. Street parking only. I believe they also have an overflow space but not 100% sure. Easy 10/10

Got our orders to go so I'm not sure on the service or the ambiance. Everything I've seen in pictures leads me to believe that it's great. Food: White Curry with Brisket burnt ends is an absolute must when ordering from here. Can't recommend it enough. So flavorful and delicious through and through Bbq Fried Rice- delicious as well. I would reorder the meal again and again.

A spectacularly unique restaurant! The flavors of BBQ and Thai meld so well together. Starting our meal with a beet salad was a great way to rev up the taste buds for that amazing white curry. The service was very kind and helpful. Definitely very busy for a Saturday for lunch, so expect there to be a wait - even on a rainy Saturday!

The massaman curry is my favorite dish in town. The drinks are delightful. The staff is incredible. The ambience is cute. What more could you want?

This restaurant has a very interesting concept of doing Thai food and BBQ fusion. A combination that I have personally never tried before. My best friend had heard a lot of good things about this place, so she took me here when I was visiting her. I would highly recommend making a reservation here if possible because we came at an early dinner time, and there was still a wait. There were a lot of people waiting in line also. We tried the following dishes: -hamachi -sweet and sour fried chicken -white curry with brisket burnt ends -green curry with crispy pulled pork I also got the "approved by chef" mocktail. It was so delicious and refreshing. It went perfectly with the meal. To be honest, we definitely over-ordered between just the 2 of us and we would've been fine with just 2 appetizers and sharing 1 entree. Everything was so delicious though! We absolutely loved every bite. The BBQ x Thai combination did go interestingly well together. The flavors were so strong but delicious. Our server was very friendly and attentive to us as well. This is a great place to catch up with friends or to have a date night!

Zero exaggeration - this is hands down the best meal I have ever experienced. Do not pass this place up. It is 100% worth the hype. Go on a weekday at an off time to avoid the crowds.

Eem is a unique Thai meets Texas BBQ eatery and one of the most highly recommended spots in all of the PDX area. Wait times do fill up quick and they do not take reservations, so make sure you plan accordingly. To get here, street parking will be your best bet. Inside, they have a nice setup with a good amount of seating. Wifey and I pulled up with some friends and were lucky enough to be there right when they opened. For their menu, they have so many unique dishes to choose from. We ended up getting a spread consisting of the Smoked Pork Belly Krapao, Roasted Mushroom Fried Rice, Sweet & Sour Fried Chicken, Massaman Curry with Smoked Lamb Shoulder, and the White Curry with Brisket Burnt Ends. Everything that we had was so flavorful and all of the portion sizes were very generous. All of the staff are friendly and welcoming. You really cannot go wrong with anything you ordere here, but I would say the White Curry with Brisket Burnt Ends is a must. There is a reason why this spot has over 1,000+ positive reviews!

The husband and I finally tried this spot after having it on our PDX list for YEARS. Now I can proudly state that it will officially be on the date day, friends in town, family visiting, etc rotation. We had plans to attend a Cho Wine event that was being hosted at Sun Rice, just a few blocks away. So I looked at my PDX collection of places and realized that Eem was in walking distance, so it was a no brainer, let's go! We walked in on Saturday afternoon and got seated right away. I've heard that this place is always packed in the evening, so I felt blessed to not have to wait. Both the hostess and server were welcoming and kind. The vibe here is a vibe, light bright, airy with huge windows and extra tall ceilings that help flood the space with natural night. Because we had just eaten and it was only the two of us, we opted to only try two dishes, the white curry and bbq fried rice and two cocktails, the arranged marriage and the yes no maybe so. I'm happy to say that everything lived up to our high expectations. The taste of both food and drinks was so perfectly balanced, layered with flavor, full of umami, salty and sweet. (Next time we'll go with a group so we can order all the things).

    Wayne D.

Beyond my expectations As an Asian, I never thought I'll like sweet sour chicken but this chicken is so juicy and tender. They use leg meat and the outside layer has a nice crunch. Not too sweet and with tiny of spicyness Fried rice is well prepared. Dry rice is separated and every single grain wrapped with flavor. The barbecue pork in it gives the content. The marinated pepper elevates the whole dish with a tint of sour and Mae you eat more Smoked pork is amazing. With a great crunchy layer and fat is cooked long enough it just melt in your mouth. Would definitely come back for other dishes

    White Curry with Brisket Burnt-Ends

Eem absolutely lived up to the hype. This spot blends Thai flavors with Texas-style BBQ and somehow everything works perfectly together. Our favorites were the mushroom fried rice and the chopped BBQ fried rice. Both dishes had amazing depth of flavor and that perfect fried rice texture, slightly crispy on the edges but still fluffy throughout. The mushroom version is rich and savory, while the BBQ fried rice adds a smoky sweetness that makes it hard to stop eating. Trying one of their curries is a must. The brisket burnt ends white curry was easily my favorite dish of the night. The curry itself is light, creamy, and aromatic without feeling heavy, and the brisket burnt ends are incredibly tender and melt in your mouth. The combination of smoky meat with the fragrant curry is just unreal. The restaurant has a lively, energetic atmosphere that's great for group dinners or taking friends who want something unique but still comforting. Service is always top-notch as well. Even when it's packed (which is most nights), we feel that we are always seen and attended without having to constantly have to wave someone down. Definitely come early to get a seat, especially weekends. Definitely one of the most memorable meals I've had in Portland and a place I'd come back to anytime.

Yes they have gluten-free options. Their menu is posted online and has pink stars by the GF options.

I was there last night and saw one person with their dog outside eating. So I would assume it is ok.

My favorite items of the visit were the sake selection, the whole fried snapper (best bite - amazing), the tuna tartare with furikake chips and caviar, and the super tender beef cheek. The mushroom small plate was also pretty good! I didn't like as much the milk buns, they were just ok and I only liked 1 (rooftop grown chive) of the 3 butter shmears it came with. Wasn't woth $6 per bun. While it was a quality cut of meat, the Snake River Wagyu steak dish needed salt and the sauce below it wasn't as flavorful. Perhaps needed cracked black peppercorn, or something to punch up that flavor. I wasn't as impressed with the octopus salad either. Very scant thin tiny octopus slices on top salad greens with lots of sliced raw bell peppers. You'd think it should be called a bell pepper salad with the amount it had in it, instead of the hard-to-find octopus! I couldn't detect a flavor note of the dressing either. Other dishes we tried were lobster bao buns and the seared scallop on jalepeno grits... they were ok but lacked a little flavor. I could not taste the jalepeno on the scallop dish, and the lobster slices were fairly scant and not very succulent. We split the strawberry mochi cake for dessert and it was fun that they added Pop Rocks on top, but the mochi was too tough and dense. A chiffon cake or something light would've been a nicer alternative to end a rich dinner. Service was excellent, and each person who spoke to us or delivered a dish was beautiful & friendly. Be prepared to share dishes when you come here, about 2/3 per person. Prices are on the higher side but I think it matches with the sophisticated ambiance and quality of food. Lots of free parking in the Cascadia parking lot just outside. Will likely come again down the road, for a date night.

To speak about Teardrop Lounge, I should probably start with this:…read more Ladies and gentlemen, I present my favorite cocktail bar. Not the best -- I'm not arrogant enough to claim that. I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.

One of the best parts was how approachable the bartenders were. We asked for custom drinks based on our preferences, and both came out perfectly tailored. Creative without being weird, and strong without being sloppy. What really stood out was the price point. For the quality of cocktails, the prices felt very reasonable compared to similar craft cocktail bars in other cities. The vibe was also great -- relaxed, cozy, and not pretentious. It felt like a place where you could come for a special drink experience without feeling like you had to "perform" or order off a rigid menu. We liked it so much we actually came back a second time during our trip. Highly recommend if you're into well-crafted cocktails, friendly bartenders, and a laid-back but elevated atmosphere.
