We had a yummy dinner here. We aren't from Oregon so I can't write a comparative review to other Chinese restaurants in Portland. Measured against San Francisco Chinese I give it 4 stars. Measuring it against Chinese in towns like my own Sacramento, I give it 4.5 stars. Love that they offer a Mu Shu chicken option because I don't eat pork - it was really good. A little too heavy on the onion (and the onion was in large pieces instead of blending in more with the dish as I'm used to), but it was still fabulous. The hand cut noodles were as great as advertised - definitely get at least mild spice to get more flavor than the no spicy (that's on me, I'm scared of what Asian restaurants think is "hot," especially Thai and Indian, so I will wasn't taking any chances with it and said no spice). Hubby said bathroom needs a deep clean and maybe a refresh so deducted a bit from that. Service was prompt and nice and not lurking which I appreciate. Lots of tables with Chinese people eating which is always a good sign in my book. read more

*The* downtown place to go for authentic Sichuan dishes as well as somewhat-Americanized favorites. The Sichuan hot spicy beef is amazing and pairs well with the hand-shaved noodles. Amazing lunch special deal! I will say I think it's a bit expensive (plus you have to pay for rice) when you go outside lunch special hours..but for the lunch special, it's very worth it!! I stumbled upon this location by accident while trying to find parking for a nearby theater. Ultimately it ended up being a worthwhile accident! The staff inside are very considerate and friendly, and the food was fantastic. I was very surprised that it wasn't more crowded! The aesthetic was very casual and reminds me of just a corner diner, except here they serve amazing Schezuan food! I tried a number of items there, and they all packed huge flavor you'd expect from Schezuan food. My only complaint is that it is a bit heavier on the oily side so I wouldn't recommend this place for people on a diet or sensitive stomachs. Next time I'll probably order some lighter dishes to balance things out, but I'll definitely be back for the service and wonderful food! read more

Tried this place on a drizzly day and it hit the spot. I'm still shocked by how fast the service was; food landed on our table minutes after ordering! Loved the fish filet and hot and spicy gravy; the peppercorns were popping and the spice level was perfect. Lots of napa to soak up the sauce. Rice is not included. It was my second time here. I ordered the same thing the first time that was recommended to me by the cute handsome guy that was working that day as the host. He suggested the Szechuan chicken which is their most popular dish. I got spicy, and man was it spicy. Loved it. They give big portions, it will definitely fill you up! They charge extra for side of rice if you want. This second time I went in I also ordered their stir fried hot and spicy cabbage, it was delicious, again big serving. Really wanted to love the food but it just wasn't meant to be. The restaurant itself is easy to find and its simple decor is nice. We dined here for dinner last Thursday. The service here is fast and friendly, from being seated right away to receiving food within minutes of ordering. We ordered chong qing hot chicken, pork w/wood fungus, and beef chow mein. All the dishes were unexpectedly really sweet which made it difficult to enjoy. I order the chong qing chicken at a lot of places and sweet is not a flavor profile common with this dish. We made the best of it by adding chili, salt and or soy sauce to our dishes to distract us from the sweetness. Based on the glowing Yelp reviews though, I'm thinking maybe the food here is adjusted to the local palate which is fine, just not a good fit for me personally. read more

I've heard about this restaurant for a while now and finally had a chance to stop by. I came here for lunch and they have some wonderful lunch specials. Pretty affordable, between $11.99-$13.99. A lot of folks were coming here for lunch and were ordering their lunch specials. Since this is a Sichuan restaurant, I wanted to try their twice cooked pork belly (回鍋肉). It comes with your choice of soup - hot & sour or egg flower soup, choice of white rice or fried rice. I opted for the egg flower soup and the white rice. The food came out pretty quickly. I was surprised it came with two scoops of rice and an egg roll too. The egg roll was very crispy and warm, tasted yummy. The twice cooked pork belly was good, large portion and lots of pork belly slices. Although there were two chili peppers to highlight the spice level it wasn't spicy at all to me. Had a subtle hint. I liked the bell peppers, leeks, onions and jalapeños mixed in with it. They also added whole fermented black beans which is something I haven't seen before in this dish, but there was definitely the spicy broad bean (豆瓣酱）paste used. Regardless it's a good meal, I'll definitely come back to try their other lunch special options. Parking is a bit difficult, I happened to be lucky to find one. With that, Wontons in chili oil - 5/5 - amazing flavor with heat, some tanginess and a hint of a sweet aftertaste - so unique and flavorful. The shrimp hot pot (dry) was a massive portion. It had the numbing chilies but also had green beans, and potatoes, all masterfully stir fried for max heat and flavor. The shrimp are battered and fried (got without shell). 5/5 again. And lastly, the spicy hand shaven noodles had the nice burnt wok taste, but also very flavorful and went really well with the above dishes. 5/5! This a favorite of my kids when we're getting delivery. They love General Tso's and Orange Chicken and Tasty Corner deliver the sauce and fried chicken separately which is clutch because then it doesn't get soggy. We've a lot of the American Chinese classics the aforementioned as well as Chow Mein, Mandarin Crispy Chicken, Vegetable Egg Rolls, Yang Zhou Fried Rice, String Bean Beef, Vegetable Medley, and I think Singapore Noodles. Everything was delicious and orders have always been received quickly. They package everything up well which is important because we usually use UberEats which can definitely be hit or miss for most places.
