I was having toilet trouble last week and called about 6 people, Mark got back to me right away, I asked him for an estimate and he told me to take a picture and send it to him via text. I needed the hot water recirculating pump replaced in my garage, easy location and access. The pump is made by Taco model 006-BC4 and it sells for $279 on Amazon. I was quoted $450 for the pump and then a additional $450 for installation to sweat 2 pipes together. The job should take 30 minutes max but l was quoted a 3 hour job @ $150 per hour. I'm happy with Mark's service. As part of a remodel project, we had a drain that need to be reconfigured. Once we had the appointment squared away, Marked arrived on time (very rare with contractors these days). The job was performed diligently and at a fair price. He even wore shoe covers to prevent staining my carpet. A part of the job was quite a bit complicated and right away Mark informed me that he isn't properly equipped to do this part of job. He quickly referred me to another plumber and even made an appointment for me to come out the next day. Others may look at it and literally bite off more they can chew, charging into the project only to get problems left and right... So, its a sigh of relief, ahha. Often when companies have words like "Best", "A1", "Affordable" etc. in their name, they aren't. Maybe that's what they aspire to be or maybe they are just misrepresenting themselves. In the case of Efficient Plumbing, they are efficient in every sense of that word. On-time (or let you know why it is taking longer), knowledgeable about plumbing and they do a great job at a fair price. I have used various plumbing services over the years, some good, some not so good, but I'd have to say Efficient Plumbing is among the best, if not THE best. I had a dripping shower/bath combo faucet that within a short period moved from a slight drip to something more serious. Also had a couple toilets that were doing the 'ghost flush' thing -- making noise in the night and wasting water. I texted Effcient Plumbing (their preferred way of contact - although you can call or e-mail as well). Mark responded within a few hours, but indicated he was booked solid for a couple days. I wasn't in a major hurry, and given the good reviews here on Yelp, wanted to give them a try. I booked his next available slot. Mark arrived on-time. Once he had a look at the shower/tub faucet, he identified possible causes and fixes, from worst case scenario to best case. The fixtures were an off-brand, so he indicated if parts needed replacement, he might not be able to get major parts and might have to replace it. At the low-end was something simple like a washer failure (but that seemed unlikely). Once he started the work, he determined it was a combination of the washers and seatings. Replacing just the washers would do no good, but presuming he could find seatings that fit, it would not be major either. He had to do some hunting to find them (and let me know why that took a while), but was successful. After the repair (which didn't take too long), there is no leaking and the handles are better aligned and work better than before. He also advised how tightly to close them so as to shut off the water, but also not wear out the washers and/or seatings. He replaced the flapper on one of the toilets (a common Kohler model) and adjusted the second one, which is also a Kolher but a Lowboy model which he didn't have a flapper for at the time. He said he'd get one and stop by to replace it next time he's in the area -- at no additional service visit charge. Overall Mark was very knowledgeable about products and repair procedures, explained things well and was pleasant to work with throughout the process. I will definitely use Efficient Plumbing again and recommend them to others (via Yelp and personal word-of-mouth). read more

Just another satisfied customer here ... Called Efficient Plumbing (which is actually just a one-man operation, run by Mark) to get a quote for running a natural gas line to an outdoor grill. Mark was able to come by after work hours, to accommodate my schedule, and talked me through several different options. Once we agreed on where the pipes would go and a fair price for the job, he was patient enough to hang on for 2 weeks while I made sure my neighbors knew a plumber would need access to their yard. The natural gas line had to go along the side of my house and Mark was very strategic about placing the pipe under a small overhang to make it less visible. He was an absolute artist with the careful placement of the pipe! And high quality pipes with an extra safety valve too! I also appreciated the fact that I could communicate with him via text and he was cool with installing the pipe while I was at work, watched over by my nanny-cam of course, you can't be too careful :) Overall, a very pleasant transaction. He did not freaked out when my dog had an accident in front of him cause my dog is old and got nervous. He was clean, fast and knowledgeable with what he's doing. Call Mark about a hot water pressure problem at my rental property located in San Clemente. Usually hot water pressure is a pretty simple DIY fix, but boyfriend and I couldn't pull out the cartridge in the shower. There was just too much mineral buildup. Outstanding. I needed to replace a leaky shower faucet and 2 under-sink shut-off valves with broken handles . No way to shut off water to sink if faucets were to fail. Had a kitchen sink that was leaking, found Mark on Yelp he texted me and Chris came out the next day and within two minutes discovered the reverse osmosis faucet we bought from Costco a year ago had malfunctioned and Chris told us that we needed to call the manufacturer and replace the faucet. We have used Mark of Efficient Plumbing twice now, and both times we were rather pleased. Mark returned telephone calls promptly, and arrived for both appointments right on time. He did the first job (replace two toilet fill valves & assemblies, gaskets and levers) for the same reasonable price he originally quoted. And he did the second job (replace the overflow valve on our water heater) for even less than originally quoted.
