Second time coming here and didn't disappoint. Service was really good and quick, got the aztec omelet and it was made really good with the chorizo cooked well gave it a good taste. The maple bourbon bacon was really well made and had alot of flavor. Waiters were nice and always checking on us making sure everything was good. very calm inside not so loud perfect for breakfast. Will be back again

I've been coming here since high school so I may have some nostalgia visiting. It's my personal favorite Egg Harbor location. I love the atmosphere and it's a bit cozier than some other ones I have been too. Although it is a little more expensive in terms of the quantity/size of the dish, the food is consistently delicious. This time I ordered for pickup and they do a great job at packing up the food. I got the Ultimate Skillet with over easy eggs. It was a great lunch.

We had a great experience here today. The restaurant is large with lots of seating and while it was busy upon arrival, we were seated quickly. We were also able to order our coffees at the drink bar while we waited - a bonus! Our server was awesome and very attentive. It was easy to know what was gluten free with the dedicated menu and TONS of choices. The food was all fantastic but I've got to call out the gluten free cinnamon roll and the gluten free bread on my sandwich - absolutely spectacular. The only downside to this place that I saw was the price. Both sandwiches were $16, which seemed steep, but maybe that's normal now. Hard to tell. Either way, we will be back because everything was delicious, they do a great job accommodating my dietary restriction and the service was spectacular.

Quick and friendly service! My mom and I came here to this old haunt while we were in town visiting family. Love that this place is still here. I was just a little one last time I came here lol. Service was stellar And we had the Caprese avocado toast special so good with the eggs and fruit salad I had the mimosa which was yum! And min had the OJ It was a lovely meal we didn't feel rushed even for a busy Sunday there.

Had the chicken and rice soup, delicious. Had breakfast, two eggs over medium, bacon and potatoes. The issue was should have requested hashbrowns, the potatoes that came with it. we're on the cold side, not cold but not warm, hot. The service was great, my issue was with the potatoes

This restaurant in downtown Arlington Heights is always busy. The servers and manager were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure that we had an enjoyable experience. Since it's October I had to try their seasonal menu. I had the pumpkin pancakes. The house-made sugared pecans were baked into the batter. I really enjoyed the way the pumpkin flavor mixed with the candied pecans. I made it into a combo which added two scrambled eggs and two sausage links to the plate. I also tried the pumpkin spice chai tea latte. This is a very sweet drink, but tasted wonderful. I went with a friend and we sat and chatted for a while after our meal without any rush. The Egg Harbor Café comes highly recommended for a good meal, friendly staff, and a warm environment.

Love this restaurant it's a cute little spot and they are open from 7-2. Came to visit my friend who's a local. The staff was super welcoming and was able to answer any questions we had with the menu.

And, dare I say, better version. Except for their avgolemeno soup. Such a weak travesty. Please fix this. It's just a watery mess. However, everything else is delicious. I ordered the Greek Chicken with their lemon-butter rice. They debone the chicken and serve atop a mountain of their rice. If also had their potatoes (which are good) but the rice is magical. The first time we went, they had a serve yourself soda fountain and they since got rid of it and sell soda in bottles and cans. They do still have a self-serve water station. Once you order, staff will bring to your table, so please tip when you order or leave on the table as they do come by and clear your table as well. It is first come first served and you grab your own tables. I've been there on weekends and weeknights and they get pretty packed. The food is flavorful and quite tasty. The portions are huge so you're definitely going to bring something home. Nostimo is now in our rotation of places to go in a pinch and they do have an outdoor seating area, too.

Since there was a total of 11 and the seating is first come first serve, we decided to call to see if they had reservations. They did take our name and reserved a table. When we arrived we noticed a table was reserved and we were informed that it was our table. We sat and looked over the menus. When we were ready my 2 boys and I went up to place our order. My one son has major allergies so we spoke to the chef and he came back out to recommend the dishes he can have. It was great that he did so and gave us confidence that my son would be able to eat without worrying too much about the ingredients. I ordered the Shrimp Kalamakia with a side of the Greek Rice. My son with the allergies ordered the Pork Kalamakia with Greek Rice and no pita, my other son ordered the Traditional Pork Gyro with Greek Rice. The sides we ordered: Saganaki Fritters and Spanakopitakia. My son that ordered the Pork Kalamakia devoured it. He said it was tender and juicy and probably could have eaten 4 skewers. My Shrimp Kalamakia was nicely charred and seasoned, I squeezed some lemon and it provided a nice tang over the seasoning. The Lemon rice pilaf was soft and cook just right and was nicely balanced. I had one Saganaki Ball and it was delicious. My son had the Pork Gyros said it was really good and the Tzatziki sauce was creamy and rich with flavors. My in-laws bought the table desserts and I got the Baklava and my wife got Loukoumades (Greek Donuts with Nutella) and both did not disappoint. I really loved the citrus honey syrup in the Baklava. The Loukoumades had a crispy shell and nice a fluffy on the inside and the Nutella amount was perfect. This place is very good and well worth the price in my opinion. I loved the fact that they took the time to make sure my son with allergies was safe.

The food itself did not take too long to come out. Also, when there was a mistake with one of the orders, it was taken care of without any issues. Food Fried potatoes This was a recommended side. The potatoes themselves were crispy with a fluffy middle. It came with a spicy mayo type of dipping sauce which tasted good other than the fact that dipping the potatoes in it did not really get that much sauce on them. I would recommend this side dish. French onion grilled cheese The French onion grilled cheese is a very tasty dish. It has the sweetness of the caramelized onion and nice cheese pull. It is a rich dish so eating cause food fatigue. Not only is there a food court of different Japanese restaurants to try, there is also a grocery store, bakery, bookstore, and stores that sell ice cream, traditional desserts, as well as crepes and boba tea! My family and I visit here often every year and we like to try the different foods and desserts and then check out the bookstore and grocery store afterwards. My favorite foods so far have been the beef udon soup with a soft boiled egg, shrimp and vegetable tempura, miso soup, and Japanese curry with rice, beef, and vegetables (carrots and potatoes). My son always gets the chicken and beef on a stick and my daughter usually gets a garlic pork dish with white rice but I forget what this dish is called. My husband also enjoys the beef udon soup like I do. I swear that whenever my food is finished, I am legit sad! The crepes are good, there is a variety of boba teas to try, and the ice creams are delicious! Lychee has been my favorite so far but I have yet to try the matcha, red bean, among others! You can get a small sample of different ice cream flavors too, which is nice! I sampled the red bean flavor so that will be my go-to next time! At the grocery store, I love buying Happy Turn snacks which are like a sweet and salty crunchy cracker (maybe it is made of rice?) that are individually wrapped and mochi from the fridge area. Finally, I usually like to buy mochi from the store right next to the bookstore. The mochi from this location is the best! I usually buy multiple flavors to take home and eat at a later time! You must try these! My kids love checking out the bookstore and they usually pick something out for me to buy for them - whether it is a book, keychain, etc. There are magazines, anime figurines, soft plushy toys, pens, and stationary, etc. It is interesting to browse through the things they have there! You cannot bring food or drinks inside but they do have a shelf at the entrance where you can place your drink there if you like. The first time visiting here, the majority of the customers were Asians and as the years have passed, there is now more of an influx of non-Asians who simply love the food and appreciate the culture, which I think is neat! The first time I visited here was with my college roommate who was from Japan and she recommended this place back in 2009 perhaps? I have been visiting ever since with my family. We travel more than an hour from Wisconsin to come here but it is 100% worth the drive! Also, the cashiers and workers there are quick, efficient, and friendly. I have even been able to practice a few of the Japanese phrases I have learned with a couple of the cashiers too (I asked if they spoke Japanese first)! Overall, Mitsuwa is my happy place! Great food, interesting finds, different culture, and everyone there looks excited to be there. This is as close to visiting Japan as I can get until I keep learning more Japanese and save up enough money to go visit Japan someday! This is my dream! In the meantime, we will keep visiting Mitsuwa!

The emotional whiplash nearly snapped my neck. It's like going to the zoo hoping to see lions and discovering the enclosure has been replaced with an accountant named Kevin. There are beautiful women everywhere, and somehow I'm discussing pasta recommendations with a guy who probably knows three different olive oils by taste. Cruel. Absolutely cruel. To his credit, the b@5tard was outstanding. Friendly. Fast. Knew the menu inside and out. Kept the drinks full. Never interrupted. The s.o.b. gave me absolutely nothing to complain about, which only deepened my resentment. The food, meanwhile, was infuriatingly good. The pizzas arrived looking like they'd been blessed by an Italian grandmother carrying unresolved anger from 1947. Thin crust. Fresh mozzarella. Just enough char to remind you that ovens are supposed to flirt with fire, not electricity. The pasta had that unmistakable handmade texture that makes Olive Garden feel like a felony. The cocktails disappeared with alarming speed. By my third Negroni, I was convinced I could hear Dean Martin narrating my life. Walking out, I glanced back toward the hostess one last time. She smiled. For approximately three seconds I considered abandoning my entire life to become a part-time sommelier with absolutely no qualifications. Then reality returned. The male waiter handed me the check. Four stars. The food was phenomenal. The cocktails were dangerous. The hostess should be classified as an Italian national treasure. And our waiter deserves a raise... despite committing the unforgivable crime of existing between me and the waitresses.
