We came on a Sunday afternoon, so there was a wait, understandably. The line moved very quickly though, and there was even free coffee by the front door, which was a very nice touch. The atmosphere was very cozy; it definitely makes you feel like you are at a chic brunch place in Door County, WI. We ordered the chorizo chilaquiles, sweet potato skillet (a special), a side of cheese grits, rainbow pancakes, and the itsy bitsy pancakes platter. Never disappointed! Always a great place to have some breakfast. Service is outstanding and the coffee is great. This time I tried their French Toast Special which was a tour of Italy. It's was great not to sweet and the fresh berries and granola where a great company. The coffee is always nice an warm and love they bring you a small container to continue to keep fill your cup. My first time coming to this location and I thought it was mediocre. While service was attentive, I couldn't help but get the feeling of being rushed to dine quickly and leave. Anyway, on to the food. Ordered their special of the day which was a breakfast croissant sandwich. It came with potatoes and a small bowl of fruit. The sandwich was good, I've always enjoyed croissant-wiches. Though the croissant itself wasn't toasted, the inside made up for it. Cheesy, eggy, and bits of spinach. I think if the croissant was toasted, it would add another layer of flavour and texture. The potatoes lacked a lot though.... not crispy at all, limp and soft. Similar to half cooked french fries, you know, those sad semi-clear looking ones. My friend ordered some sort of lobster scramble or something. It was tasty, but really salty! Overall an average experience and average breakfast food for the price. Great for families though! read more

This is my new favorite breakfast place. I discovered it by ordering delivery during Covid. The menu is very interesting. I love the variety and there's so many cheese options! The cozy skillet is delicious - I tried the apple and brie combo. The sweet potato and brussels sprouts skillet is also delicious. I read their website afterwards which explains this restaurant is part of a family run business. They have some great values (people first, cage-free eggs, donations & ethical coffee supply chain) so all-round I like this place. This is a second location that I have visited (the first being the one in Lake Forest) and I loved it just as well. The service is friendly and attentive, the menu has something for everyone. I tried the Green Tomato Eggs Benedict with a side of cheese grits and it was super tasty. The portions are very generous so I didn't finish the grits. Too bad I was running errands for the next couple of hours, otherwise I would have definitely taken them home. They used to have very neat tea pots that you set on top of the cup and push down to dispense - these are now gone because too many people did not use them properly. However, they still use good quality loose tea, just in a different pot. Also, try their Chicken Tortilla Soup, it is wonderful! In warm weather, they have outdoor seating, with plenty of umbrellas, and I thoroughly enjoyed that. read more

This morning I was set on ordering the San Antonio skillet but when I requested orange marmalade for the accompanying muffin I was advised that they no longer have that. I decided to try the shrimp and grits instead. That was a very bad decision. The dish was a gloppy mess of barely defrosted shrimp embedded in gluey cheese with an underlayment of unrecognizable grits. When the waitress asked how everything was I replied awful and she laughed; it was laughable. I knew I wasn't going to get Wishbone quality but I did expect a competently prepared dish. Even with the crowds and the wait, the staff kept everyone happy, kept service to the Max and made everyone happy!!. Consistently amazing every time. Food is incredible, as is the service. They have lots of nice small touches, like bringing a carafe of coffee, tea, or iced tea to the table for refills. They'll also give you a drink to go, which is a bonus. They have a spam free rewards program, and the perks come quickly. They also have an online waitlist, so you can lower your wait time onsite. However, their menu has shortened in recent years which was a little disappointing. I wish they included more of their original menu items such as the crepe options or more waffles/ pancake options. When travelling, it is always stressful trying to find safe, gluten free options for my daughter who has Celiac. We were thrilled to find this place walking distance from our hotel. We ate there every morning while visiting the city. Lunch options are just as good and plentiful as the breakfast options. Staff was hustling and super friendly. Food comes out fast but is very fresh. Love that all gluten free items are served on a separate colored plate - they are taking that extra step to avoid cross contamination. Came here on a whim earl and was seated in less than 7 minutes on a Sunday am around 930am. Enjoyed endless coffee and the coffee flavor of the day! Caramel pecan. It was good but I think it was an added syrup not brewed. The lobster scrambler was delish and there was no hunting for lobster. The chicken sausage scrambler was great and they allowed me to amend it as well. The corned beef hash was tasty Nd not oily which was a relief. The English muffins were a bit over toasted and crispy upon arrival. The house potatoes were great And needed minimal salt. Will be back!!! read more

The quality of food has really gone down. There was a time when I'd recommend Egg Harbor - it was out go-to place for breakfast for years. Today, however, the food wasn't good. It didn't taste good. It wasn't fresh, well prepared, or warm, and frankly, it was a real disappointment. There are other options in the area and I'd suggest you try one of them. I wish we had. When it comes to the staff, they are and were very friendly and welcoming. But when it comes to the food. My wife and I found out that we did not really like the place that much last time we visited. And the best part, is when I received my French toast, it was as if someone just threw some sugar and cinnamon onto it. The orange juice to me tasted watered down and not freshly squeezed. I ask our waitress and she stated that the do not water it down, but they also do not freshly squeeze it in house at this location. So for my review the people / staff are friendly and welcoming. Food is LITERALLY AMAZING! Easily one of my favorite breakfast spots in Glenview. I usually get the pancakes with a side of their hash brown/potato bites. You should definitely try that out! One thing I don't like - you never know what the wait time is going to be. One time I went, I had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, whereas, another time, they took me in right away. Went to this restaurant over the weekend. Parking close and free. I put our names on the list for about a 20 minutes wait but in ten minutes got called in, which was great. Hostesses were very friendly. I ordered cornbeef hash breakfast, which was really great!! I also ordered a side of pancakes which tasted like any other pancakes I had but the cornbeef...very good. At my recent visit for breakfast with a few friends I ordered a breakfast skillet. I haven't been here in a long time and found prices to be a bit higher than pre COVID which is understandable since all prices are up. My friends and I had been commenting about not going out to eat much anymore and one said she encountered a restaurant that added a $5 Insurance charge on to every bill to pay for back of the house insurance benefits. Here's what I encountered at EH on this visit. My friend and I each ordered a similar item but hers was an omelette and mine was a skillet costing $1 more. Mine came with an English muffin with jam/preserves. Maybe 1 tbsp. I asked for sour cream and hers came with sour cream. I was given a tiny little bitty cup, same size as the jam, with approximately 1 tbsp. I also asked for extra cream for my coffee. Upon reviewing my receipt later (was too engrossed in convo to look at while at the restaurant) I noticed I was charged $1.40 for two condiments. A dollop of sour cream using retail price for this comes out to $.18 and coffee cream comes out to $.14. I'm glad I didn't ask for ketchup, salt or pepper. Tipping everyone and extra charges on top of increased prices are getting out of control. Recommendation to all restaurants: just adjust meal prices and stop with the surcharges. It makes me not return to the restaurants that do this. The food was hot and good. Taking two stars off for being annoyed for the tacked on cost. read more

Though I refuse to ever consume breakfast unless suffering from great intemperance in drinking, I accompany my better half for his frequent feedings and was rather impressed with the variety of inexpensive options at Egg Harbor. I ordered Pumpkin-flavored coffee and chamomile tea, which was served out of an infuser. My husband ordered Matt's Meaty Skillet, apparently "named after him" and appearing rather enticing. The farm decor is quaint, modest and homey. The booth seats - which I liken to outdoor park benches - were a bit uncomfortable. The service was slow for my taste, but still pleasant. NOT celiac friendly! My dd was glutenized here with the "gluten-free" pancakes. To add injury to insult the pancakes tasted terrible and were not fully cooked through. My omelette was so-so and was served with a wheat English muffin even though I ordered off the gluten free menu. Lack of attention to both the food and the environment. I've been here two times now and I'm so thankful for a place that cares to have gluten free offerings! Sadly, my local breakfast/brunch spot burned down in Oak Park. I've had eggs, pancakes, a cinnamon roll, corned beef hash, chilaquiles and everything was delicious. Also the pot of coffee on the table and the free refills are just such a nice touch! My one criticism would be the butter. I had to ask for a some more butter the first time I went because I couldn't tell why my pancakes weren't getting the right flavor. I hadn't had anything sweet for breakfast in a really long time and I was looking for that sweet-saltiness you get with good butter and maple syrup. Then I realized the butter must've been whipped with a LOT of water; it didn't taste like anything. Also, this was small but notable, when I went the first time, we asked the waitress how the corned beef hash was and she recommended it but said we should get it "extra crispy." It was amaaaaazing! Ok, I have two criticisms. The next time I went I asked for it "extra crispy" and it was not. I didn't complain but the waitress noticed I wasn't eating it. She asked if it was to my liking and I said, "not really." She said she'd bring a me a new one. That was very nice but it took forever and they only burned it a little, flipped it like a patty and then burned the other side a little so that the middle was all still raw. It's hash, so it needs to all get some heat on it by spreading it out and kind of sautéing it all. The upside to this was now I had corned beef hash for at least another few days where I threw out the burnt parts and made it to my liking at home. read more

I had say we had a very good experience coming here for the first time with the family. It was pretty busy for a Saturday morning. Service was very good from the beginning to end. Was greeted upon arrival and was informed of our wait time. Our waitress was very good. She was very informative about the specials and what was on the menu.
