    Cheeseburger

Hubby and I celebrated buying a new dryer by getting some lunch here. From the outside it looked very small but it was larger once you get inside. Very neighborhood-y. Asked a staff member how long they have been around and I was told more than 30 years. Looks like they have quite a following with the locals. It was very busy! Hubby got the cheeseburger and I got the turkey club. I thought my turkey club was quite good and I would not hesitate to order it again. Tony said that he wished the cheeseburger came with more toppings like pickle but he said it was definitely a satisfactory cheeseburger. I will rate this place a very solid four. It's not fancy but it is a great option if you're just looking for a quick meal. Looked like they serve breakfast until 3pm and it is now open for dinner.

I am all for supporting local businesses that is why I am glad that Greenwood Grill reopened after it closed during the Covid pandemic. I used to have breakfast here and always liked the busy and friendly vibe. They served basic breakfast dishes, nothing special but I always left satisfied. My daughter and I have been wanting to try this place again, having heard that they now also serve Mexican dishes. We came in on a Saturday around 11 am and there were a couple of tables occupied. Once we got inside, there was a blonde woman by the cashier who looked at us, then turned around. Awkward. We waited for a couple of minutes but nobody greeted nor welcomed us so we sat ourselves in a booth. After a couple of minutes, I flagged down a server and asked if we were supposed to get the menus or order at the counter. He came back and gave us the menus and glasses of water. My daughter tried the STEAK BREAKFAST BURRITO which was full of potatoes inside. We opened up the burrito and tried finding actual steak because there were barely any meat. I just had the DEUCES WILD which was good and basic. Our server was pleasant but we had to flag him down for coffee, to go boxes, and the bill. It was one of the longest times I have spent on having breakfast at a diner. The place was practically empty to begin with. The couple of women staff (the blonde woman and I guess the new owner) were walking around, passed our table several times, greeting and chatting with other customers, or just talking to each other. Not even once, were we acknowledged, greeted, nor asked if we needed anything. In other words, we were completely ignored. I guess maybe because we were not considered "regulars" that's why we did not get the same great service as what the other reviewers did. While my daughter and I were eating our dishes, we vowed never to come back again. We were very disappointed, especially since we also wanted to try their tacos for dinner too. That is not going to happen. The two stars were for the guys preparing the dishes. They were working efficiently, as the customers can see them due to the open kitchen lay out. Other than the cooks' efforts, I cannot give any compliments to the rest of our experience here.

    Delicious tacos! Hot and fresh!

So happy to have Greenwood grill down the street from us. It's a nice family run business with lots of solid food options. We usually carry out breakfast from here but tried the tacos for dinner tonight. They offer different kinds of meat fillings and toppings. We had a variety of tacos and they did not disappoint! Even our picky kids devoured them. They were hot, fresh and generous with the meat. The home made hot sauces were so so so good too. And to top off the meal, the flan was *chef's kiss*. The owner and her son are so friendly too. We will be back!

To Egg Harbor Cafe DBA Egg Harbor Management Co and Hamco, Inc I purchased a Giftcard on your site for a Mother's Day gift on 5/4/26, since my Mother has been a patron of Egg Harbor for many years. My Mother went to Egg Harbor (at The Glen/Glenview) on 5/19 to use the Giftcard, but they were turned away because she didn't have the 16 digit card number for the Giftcard. She never got the text message from Toast, providing that 16 digit card number. She showed the staff proof of purchase via the receipt of the giftcard that has a Payment ID, Credit Card information, and purchase date. They were told to go to the Bannockburn location by the person acting as manager that day (Alex). There isn't a Bannockburn location - that's the address for the corporate office that was at the top of the e-receipt. I called Alex at the Glen location and after realizing he's very confused and misinformed i called the Deerfield location to get clarity. I spoke to another manager, Deerfield manager (Darren), who informed me that Giftcards can be used at any location so My Mother went back to the Glen and they awaited for over an hour for assistance/clarification and we're not assisted properly. They were told to call Toast to get further information. We called Toast and they informed us the restaurant corporate office is responsible in this situation. So I called Egg Corporate/Hamco (847) 478-5100 on May 19, left a voicemail and called back multiple times throughout the day - no response. I Called May 20 a couple times in the morning and finally spoke to Michelle (front office) and she said I need to talk to the We care team. I asked her to pass my information along and get a call back before end of day. She said OK. There was no call back. -Your Team at the restaurant level is misinformed and rude -Your Corporate Team is unresponsive -Your Giftcard program is mismanaged and frankly seems like a scam at this point. I would like a refund for my Mother's Day gift.

Cozy, nostalgic, and super inviting. We were seated quickly, and our server took great care of us throughout the meal. We started with fresh orange juice and coffee, which was the perfect way to ease into brunch mode. I ordered a small stack of pancakes with spicy hash browns and bacon, while my husband kept it classic with scrambled eggs and toast. And wow...the food absolutely knocked it out of the park. The hash browns were insanely good. I never realized hash browns could pair so perfectly with pico de gallo, but now I'm convinced. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, and the bacon was thick-cut and cooked just right. This is definitely a spot we'd come back to. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the food somehow manages to be even better.

While there is an "in" and an "out" door, it seems that the host stand and cashier station are one and the same, resulting in a bunch of people queuing. Thankfully, one of the hosts/cashiers noticed, asked if I was waiting for a table, and I was promptly seated. It is perhaps a blessing that the menu lists calorie counts, for I would have ordered the Apple Cinnamon Pancake without a second thought. Only it is 1,880 calories, and that's before the ice cream upgrade that's still tempting me as I read their menu. I ordered the Blueberry instead. What I liked about these is that they weren't overly sweet, and had a hearty amount of blueberries within. I'd also like to recognize that biting into them, I didn't encounter a spray of blueberry-gut-lava that's burned me when I attempted blueberry pancakes at home. However, while not bad, I found them in no way remarkable. Neither the textures nor flavors were anything to write home about. Rather than a gently crisp exterior and fluffy interior, they were instead similar to something between custard and cake. In terms of the service: I thought it was friendly, polite, and once the order was placed, the food came out in no time. Otherwise, the service felt a little inattentive. For example, after I said I needed just a minute to decide, the server did not stop by in longer than expected. Also, towards the end of the meal, it didn't click that I was to pay the cashier rather than the waiter... a little "D'oh" on my part, but a reminder would have been appropriate and welcome. As for the vibe: there is so much wood, if you dumped the restaurant into the lake, it would float! Adding to the vibe are some lighting fixtures with stained glass, and others are decorative, but mismatched, if not outright missing. Staff wore uniforms reminiscent of those seen in old movies. Final verdict: While I appreciate what Walker Brothers is trying to do, and their prices are reasonable, I do not feel the experience was enjoyable enough to warrant a return visit. Okay pancakes, and service that could use some polish are not enough, especially with many fantastic breakfast spots in Chicagoland.

And it was tasty - my steak quesadillas and my mom got a house Cobb salad. Both were tasty and looked great. Our server Miriam was awesome with our orders, she came by to check on us and not too many times, and was there to help us with leftovers and leaving stuff. She struck a nice balance of not being there vs being here too often, so that's Ace's in my book. Since it was Mother's Day, it's crowded and a bit loud but not too loud where it was too obnoxious, except for a few people who had no manners at all on dress, but that's another topic I won't go to, for now. Tables, plates and silverware were clean, and one can still get around, even with one table behind us with a handicapped person, it didn't crowd up much at all - it was all very reasonably spacious. Definitely will come back here, though I do miss that older lady who was our server the last time before today, who was very nice - had a bit of an attitude to her personality but not too much to make it tasteless, some sass makes for an interesting day. The diner has a classic, retro feel with a checkerboard aesthetic that gives it a traditional diner vibe. It is not very modern or trendy, but it is clean and well-kept, which is really what matters. The space feels simple and comfortable, making it a place someone can visit regularly for a quick, reliable meal. The menu is very straightforward and features typical diner staples. The food was pretty good, but the dishes were very basic with nothing particularly unique about them. It felt like the kind of food you might make at home, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it wasn't especially memorable either. I ordered an egg sandwich with cheese and sausage ($9.95). I also ordered bacon on the side (3 for $4.25). The egg sandwich was okay, but the bagel tasted like those cheap bagels you would get at a hotel during their complimentary breakfast that come from a bag. The sandwich didn't have anything on it other than exactly what they called it on the menu: a bagel, sausage links cut in half, an egg, and cheese. Nothing on the sandwich was seasoned or flavorful. My husband enjoyed his food much more than I did, and he ordered the Big Texas Breakfast ($12.95). This came with country-fried steak with sausage gravy on top, 2 eggs your way, and hash brown potatoes. He also ordered sausage links on the side (3 for $4.25). The service was friendly, and everything came out in a reasonable amount of time, which worked well for us since we were on a bit of a tight schedule. Overall, Lola's Diner delivered a simple diner experience with homemade-style food. I would come here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice for breakfast.
