Country music eggs Benedict
Paul M.

This is one of those places locals LOVE and outsiders like me discover thanks to YELP!!! If you have only one breakfast in Boise, ID this is the place to go!!! Wish they opened earlier and I think A LOT of people do to. I came two minutes after they opened and joined a pretty long long (that moved quickly and I was seated in minutes. Host asked if I had been here before (I had not) and told me I was in for a real treat! She wrote my name on a tiny white board and handed it to my server. Server did a great job getting to know me and went over the menu. Fun menu with lots of options. They make most everything from scratch and use fresh quality ingredients. I went with the Country Benedict and added bacon bits on top. Order was HUGE and I could only eat HALF. Server told me I could have asked for a "half order." While waiting for my order my server dropped by with a free hot "scone." I didn't think it was a scone (more like a Mexican "sopapillas" but it was hot and delicious and I polished it off! Inside is fun and eclectic. Cute places to take photos. Egg man is really a thing in Boise and I would highly recommend a visit!

Egg Man and Earl has set the bar incredibly high for any other place in the treasure valley for me. Their food is delicious and from an awesome scratch kitchen. The staff are ALWAYS incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they even write your name on a little welcome placcard on the table. This time I had the pleasure of getting the father's day menu, which includes quite literally the best chicken fried steak I've ever had. The only negative from the whole visit is that I can't order the fried chicken every time

They have some pretty neat things to look at in the waiting area.

Egg Mann and Earl has been on my go to list for a hot minute. It's not the closest to where we live but we made the drive over. Waking in, I was pretty surprised at all the fun and funky decor. I didn't know what to expect but what I saw very unexpected. It was a pretty cool waiting area. All these different and fun things to look at. You couldn't be bored in that kind of waiting area. Too much stuff to play with. Our server greeted us at the hostess stand. She asked for our names which threw me off since there wasn't a wait. Come to find out, she wrote our names on a little erase board. I thought it was pretty cool! We got sat at a neat booth. There were drawings and different wall art all over. The dining area is just as crazy and fun as the waiting area. Random art work, signs and different dining sets. Chase, our server, guided us through the menu and grabbed our drinks. Coffee was on point today. For breakfast I ordered the Country Benedict. My daughter got the Huevos Racheros with a side of hashbrowns. While we were waiting for our food, we were given a complimentary scone. The scone came out hot! It was coated in cinnamon, sugar and powdered sugar. That baby was delicious! It could have used a dab of butter but without the butter it was still yummy. Shortly after we finished our scone, our food came! Holy cow, my Country Benedict was massive! My daughter's huevos rancheros looked delicious! The hashbrowns were a pretty golden brown. It all looked good! Digging into my meal, one word to describe it is dense. The biscuits was huge but very dense. And then you add a very thick country gravy on top which made it overwhelming thick. I might have enjoyed it if the gravy wasn't so thick. The sausage was savory. My eggs were cooked perfectly. But with all of our combined, it was just too much. Chase did a great job serving us today. She was very attentive and sweet. The restaurant itself is so fun and different. It's not your typical breakfast joint which makes it that much more neat. Overall, it wa a fun experience! I really wish the food would have hit the spot for me but maybe next time I can get something different.

BOMB FOOD.

Food- yes. So good! The bacon was the best I've ever had. Not oily, dry and crispy. Service - our server was amazing. She was so attentive and great with conversation. Ambiance - the home-y perfect vibe for breakfast food. If I lived in Boise, probably would come here 3x a week.

Okay, stop what you're doing and head to Eggman. The food and service is above and beyond. Expect a line on weekends, but it's worth it. Our waiter Chase was delightful.

Good local breakfast house. They are proud of their house made products. We all enjoyed our breakfast. Service was very friendly and I enjoyed the eclectic decor.

Eggmann and Earl is absolutely wondrous! Although most have already known about this incredible breakfast spot for a while now, I had to give them a shoutout once again. So many new fantastical things to see on the walls as well! Hop on into one of the friendliest places on Earth!

Loaded Hangover Hashbrowns

It's about once a year, but every time we visit Boise, Egg Mann and Earl is a must. We tend to always have hangover hashbrowns, which are absolutely amazing, but we also try some other things. We usually turn down the puff pastry scone, but this time we had one and loved it. We think about this place often, even when we are not even close to it. We compare it to other brunch places, which usually cannot compare.

So my first time here and I lived it! From the way they ask for your names and make it personal to the in house smoked meats and locally sourced food this place is a MUST visit in Boise. Our server was awesome and her choices and suggestions were on point. The place is quaint and relaxing and the food was delicious with large portions. We will be back!

In town from California...Wanted to find a breakfast place for specialty foods. Wow. We couldn't have found a better place. From the time we walked in Oliver welcomed us with open arms and a sign that was put on our table. He guided us and he was spot on. They give you a scone first which is complimentary. Wow again. Its like having a very large apple biegnet from New Orleans. Just delicious. Hubby ordered the Walrus and I ordered the veggie Benedict and added salmon. I really wish we lived here. This small amazing restaurant would be our go to every time. So may choices.... If you are in Boise, ID I encourage you to go to Egg Mann and Earl...Come hungry...The portions are ridiculous....Hats off to Oliver who gave us the royal treatment and to the cooks who are beyond talented. Thank you for an amazing experience. We are here for 8 more days. We will be back before we leave so we can enjoy another amazing breakfast.

Eggcellent. Everything about this place was legit. Food, coffee, service and scones. Not dirt cheap but well worth the price.

Ask the Community - Egg Mann and Earl

Any outside seating?

No, they're in a strip mall with a small sidewalk outside. There's just not room for it.

Will there be a wait as soon as they open on a Saturday? Or does it get busy at 8:30-9?

Get here early if you can! But worth the wait if you decide to sleep in😂

Do they have Bloody Mary's or Mimosa's?

Yes, they have just launched mimosas!!

Do they have gluten free bread options?

We take both very seriously, so Goldy's was high on our list during our trip to Boise--and it did not disappoint. We ended up sitting upstairs, which turned out to be a great choice. It gave us a fun view of the dining room below and, more importantly, let us see all the amazing-looking plates coming out of the kitchen. If you're anything like me, half the fun of breakfast is seeing what everyone else ordered. The standout for both of us was easily the Goldy's Special Potatoes. The red potatoes are tossed with the restaurant's house seasoning blend, and whatever is in that seasoning mix works. They were flavorful, crispy, and completely addictive. We both cleaned our plates. I ordered the two-egg breakfast with scrambled eggs and cheese, along with one of their specialty sausages. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the biscuit was excellent. Since I was in Idaho, I also wanted to try something made with marionberries because they're so well known in the Pacific Northwest. I ordered the marionberry jam, and while I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, both my husband and I really enjoyed it. My husband went with an omelet and turkey apple sausage and was equally happy with his choice. The coffee was probably the only thing that didn't stand out to me. I drink my coffee black, and this was more of a classic diner-style cup of coffee--perfectly fine, but not the star of the meal for sure. Overall, Goldy's is exactly the kind of breakfast spot we love finding when we travel: great food, generous portions, and a place that feels like a local favorite for a reason. If we ever find ourselves back in Boise, we'll absolutely be back for those potatoes.

We came at 10:15am on a Friday and had to wait over 30min. The host was super nice. We didn't leave until 11:45. It was a long wait to get our food. I would say this place struck me as a very average diner, still good, but not amazing. My food was pretty cold when I got it but it was good. I actually really liked the coffee too. I probably would not come back but it's worth a try.

The decor features beautiful artificial greenery that gives the space a light, vibrant, and welcoming feel. My server, Brayden, was fantastic--friendly, prompt, and attentive. I started with the Southern Hospitality mimosa (peach & pineapple with "Blue Ridge Bubbly"), which was incredible. For my meal, I chose the $10.99 Lunch Break Special, upgrading my side to the chicken poblano soup alongside the half honey pecan chicken salad sandwich. While I was looking at the bar, a gentleman named Scott asked how I was enjoying my food. I told him I hadn't tried it yet, but that the mimosa was rocking! The soup was delicious with great flavoring, and the biscuits paired perfectly with their tasty jam. The chicken salad also tasted great, but unfortunately, I bit into a sharp chicken bone that hurt my mouth. Because of this, I stopped eating the sandwich. When Brayden checked back in, I let him know I couldn't finish it due to the bone. He handled it perfectly, promptly took the sandwich away, and removed the charge from my bill. He also brought out some bread for my soup as requested. I finished my meal with a salted caramel craft iced latte, which was absolutely delicious. Minor food mishap aside, the outstanding customer service from both Brayden and Scott will definitely bring me back!

We did have to have a small wait. I love the fact that they were busy! Nothing makes me happier than seeing a local business thrive! It was a little over 10 minutes of wait time. No problem, we chilled in the car till we got our text to come in. We were sat, got coffee and juice ordered and checked out the menu. We were both hungry so everything looked good. My husband decided on a stack of pancakes with chocolate chips and a side of biscuits and gravy. I got the Big boy omelet with Moe Joe's potatoes. Our server, I believe her name is Kendra, was super sweet! I have served her before when she came in and ate my at family's restaurant. She was fabulous as a guest and fabulous at taking care of us today. I had requested a fresh cup of half and half that wasn't used my multiple guests. I'm still bring careful with my new kidney. With no hesitation, she gladly gave me a fresh cup of half and for my coffee. I appreciate her kindness so much. Food came out and booooyyyyy did everything look amazing! My husband's pancakes were fluffy and had plenty of chocolate chips. The biscuits were covered with gravy. My omelet was massive and was also covered in gravy. I was ready to tear into them potatoes! They were nice and charry. I know this meal is about to hit! I don't think I said a word to my husband for 15 minutes. The food was so good! Nothing important needed to be talked about when the food was doing the talking for us. My omelet was stuffed with green peppers, onions and all the 3 meats that came with it. I love love love the gravy on top! The potatoes were crispy on the outside and so soft in the middle. The potatoes with gravy is top tier! Of course I tried my husband's pancakes.... so fluffy and sweet. The biscuits weren't crazy dense. I love that they were airy. I really had to hold back on the pancakes, I still had a whole omelet to work on. But them pancakes were the business! It's sad that this joint is clear across town. I would eat here every week if I could. Everything we had today was so good! Everything I had last time was good! The service is fantastic. I adore Memory and Peyton. Now I get to add Kendra to my list! One of the best breakfast joints in town, hands down! I'm so happy I got to start my birthday week at Moe Joe's! I look forward to coming back very soon.

We had a different server than our usual this time and she was fantastic. I wish I remembered her name to give her a shout out. I took away a star because the food wasn't as great as the last few times I visited. The eggs were overcooked (kind of dry and almost rubbery) and the hash browns were under cooked in the center. Now, if you've read my previous review, youd know how much i absolutely LOVE their pancakes - and I've made it my go-to spot for breakfast because of it. Well, either they changed the recipe or someone messed up this batch. It was nice and fluffy, but bland. That signature deliciously buttery flavor was nowhere to be found. I kept taking bites hoping my tongue was deceiving me... but there were no lies. Just disappointment. This is definitely a deal breaker. Maybe I'll try one more time. If it was just a one-time fluke, I'll update this review and stars. :::sigh:::

I had the French dip sandwich with a side of tomato basil soup. The sandwich was delicious and tasted homemade in the best way. The "meat" of the sandwich was seitan. I don't THINK it was a perfect meat replica (but I've never had a real French dip), but it was very flavourful. I loved the flavour and the thick cut of their bread, but it didn't have much structure and fell apart easily as I was eating which made the sandwich very messy. The tomato basil soup was a little different. It was slightly creamy but brothy and a little chunky - not a smooth puree. Again, it tasted great and was nice and light, which was a good contrast to the very rich sandwich. It was a little slow, especially considering they weren't that busy.
