    Pork chops and eggs.
    Dj M.

We keep going back here and one thing my daughter informed was they don't use seed oils which is very important. We went there again on Sunday, and this time I had the Pork Chops and eggs, and it was incredible. I really like this place and I am glad to give them our business. The pork chops were excellent and not small. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

When I see a quaint cafe that does high volume, and only open for breakfast and lunch, you know they are doing something right. Met up here with a group of 15 women from our women's group on a Tuesday morning at 11:30am. We called weeks in advance to ask if they could accommodate a group of this size giving them the day of the week and proposed time of day and they said they could. A week before, we called again to remind them we were coming next week thinking this reminder would assure proper staffing. It appeared it did not. Called the day before to give a final headcount of 15. When we arrived and checked in, the hostess seemed to have some tables in mind along the far wall, as the restaurant isn't huge, but the wall length banquette and tables were filled by patrons, so we had to wait. A party of six got up to leave, so we were able to push two tables together to get our seating started, and as ladies continued to arrive the other tables eventually opened up, but there was some awkward squished seating until they did. Our server was friendly although she seemed a bit flustered getting ready to take on this large group. I didn't catch her name. She brought us waters and gave us time to look at the menu, but honestly she needed to attend to her other tables and eventually close them out before she ever took our order, so there was some waiting and we were hungry. Once she took our 15 orders, there was some more waiting, drinks needed refilling, some were refilled others forgotten altogether. I forget specifically what I asked or said to her, but she replied with "oh, I haven't even put your food orders in yet"! WHAT?!! Here's where Janet's Cafe showed some breakdown. Our one server needed some support, and although every staff member was working in their capacities, it seems there could have/should have been a more efficient way to handle service. So what typically happens once the food is brought out to the table, you have the "can I get a side of ranch, we need extra napkins, I'm missing silverware, or I ordered onion rings and was given fries" scenarios, right? Our server should have stopped, got out her pad and went down the entire table noting what was needed or missing instead of trying to remember. She did not, so some things were remedied and some had to be asked for again or many times only flustering her more. When you have a group and the food does not come out all together by multiple servers, we tell them "go ahead and start eating while it's still hot", as the food comes out in handfuls. In this case, the first person served was just about done eating her meal by the time the last lady got her meal delivered to the table. The Food: The food was wonderful! Everyone enjoyed their meal. The food quality, freshness and portions were top notch. Everything from a traditional egg breakfast to the Daily Special, French dip sandwiches, Club sandwich, soup and salads, and sides (the onion rings were awesome) everything was delicious! I also know Janet herself was cooking that day. As mentioned by other reviewers, menu prices are a tad high, but as also mentioned by others, what isn't these days? Many of us took home leftovers, so count that as part of it. Overall, this is a great place to eat! It seems there are many happy patrons, and I am now certainly one of them and won't hesitate to go back again. I hope my feedback was helpful for both you the reader and the restaurant owners/staff. I'm including photos of the current menu prices and a couple food items.

Another great visit today at Janet's. Decided to sit at the bar today so we didn't have to wait for a table. Keller, our server came and grabbed our drinks while we were looking over the menu. It was my daughter's first time there so she needed a minute to look over the menu. He was nice and didn't rush us. Orders were finally taken and we enjoyed the scene while our food was being prepared. Today I ordered the chicken fried steak. Of course I had to get the country potatoes again. The country potatoes were nice and chunky! They were cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I love dipping them on the country gravy. The country fried steak was crispy on the outside and so savory in the middle. It was topped with a good amount of the country gravy. My eggs were cooked perfectly! My toast could have used another round of toasting but it was still tasty cause of the butter they slapped on it! It was such a hearty meal I was only able to eat half of it. This place is buzzin no matter the hour. Clearly they have a good crowd for lunch besides just breakfast. I can see why! The staff is always friendly and the venue is so comfy and welcoming. This place has put other joints in the valley on alert. From the food to the staff, this place is what other local joints should model after. And shout out to Keller for our amazing service! Service like today's makes eating out nice. It's refreshing to have good service! Now a days good service feels like a rare occasion.

Opened July'ish 2024 (in space that was once Dickie's BBQ) by owners who have these Janet's breakfast and lunch cafe(s) in San Diego with this being their first in Idaho.   We had high expectations going in for breakfast based on early Yelp reviews. Although it is nearer our home than alternatives it is unlikely we'll be back soon based on 3-star food experience with that meal.  The 4th star is for friendly people, sparkling clean space and a broad menu of options so maybe lunch will work better. A handwritten sign in the window indicates they are hiring for positions from cook through server so this suggests there may be some hiccups (there were) to be patient about (we were and the server thanked us for same before we left) as they get into their groove.   VIBE:  Blue booths, some tables and chairs, rustic finishes, light and bright from front windows that face the parking lot.  Sparkling clean in the way that says pride of ownership.  No TVs.  Yahoo!  If there was music on the sound system, I don't remember it being there and that is a good thing because it means it wasn't intruding on our conversation. Yahoo times two!  SERVICE:  Greeted as we entered.   They weren't too busy at  mid-morning on a week day and while our server arrived promptly to introduce himself and offer us coffee, it was a long wait until he returned to take our breakfast order.  No worries, we were enjoying time together.   In the meantime, we noticed our server was also taking walk-in coffee drink to go orders at the host stand since no one was there.  (That's a process they probably need to work on so table servers don't have to do that.)  When he was able to get back to us to take our order, we had a couple of questions about the menu. Some he could answer, others not but volunteered to get the information leading to more delay.  New place, new servers and that's not unexpected.   Once the order was taken, it arrived from the kitchen much more quickly than we expected it would.   FOOD:  Our experience was huge portions of bland food. I ordered eggs over hard, one of them had a runny yolk which means I couldn't eat it, crispy bacon and it was but also room temp'ish as if cooked and held.  For the go-with options I chose hash browns, a very large portion was on the plate and cooked through but no flavor (even salt in the kitchen would have helped), and what was listed as buttermilk biscuit that I was told was house made.  I have no doubt that the giant thing that arrived was baked on site, but it was dense in a way that didn't match my expectations for flakey buttermilk biscuit.  Noting the runny yolked egg didn't match my order, the server offered to have the kitchen cook another one.  No worries, I said, too late now but as feedback for the kitchen, over hard means hard yolks.   The dish was $16.50. My hubby's short stack of pancakes ($11) was two huge pancakes which he said were fine to be tender but he ate only one given size.  Real maple syrup is not available to order and the pancake syrup provided in a small ramekin had little maple flavor. Although a nice woman who came by our table told him it was "more than 50% maple" and she said she would "check the can" to see what else was in it, he told her no worries because knew enough at that point.  He said he would happily pay an upcharge for the real thing, as offered that way by some others, if they had it. The server said several customers had made that suggestion. It is not that the food is bad because there are a lot of chain eateries that would deliver similar things.  But huge portions of these kinds of things are not our thing.  Different strokes for different taste buds. Then we get to the blackberry pie, of which we ordered a slice ($6.50) to go.  It was not good. They may be putting pie filling into a crust in the kitchen but when we ate the pie that night, a huge slice easily divided in two, there were maybe 5 whole blackberries in the entire thing among a thick dark purple, seeming cornstarch thickened glob that suggests filling taken from a can.  Not that there's anything wrong with that as chains do it but it is not what we expected when we asked on the way in if the pies were house made and the hostess said they were.  PARKING: Private lot in this sort of stripmall'ish location. ACCESSIBILITY: ADA parking is near the door but the strip mall owner has let the blue paint marking it as such erode from the spots and has not put the required signage on the building so it isn't evident. All on one floor inside and ample floor space throughout. A few tables that would work for customers using wheelchairs. I didn't check the loo but one assumes given this was built for first occupancy post 1993 (when ADA rules and ID Accessibility code both apply) they are accessible.

Food: we ordered a bit of everything and the best overall part was the pancakes. OMG! 10/10. Service: fast, attentive and knowledgeable servers (as this was our first time). Ambiance: modern cabin vibes. Such a cute spot. Worth coming and trying it out. Ample areas to sit and also ample space to sit and wait if needed.

The last time I went I tried the gingerbread latte - this was hands down THE BEST gingerbread latte I've ever had! I'm so bummed it's seasonal and that they aren't closer to me so I can enjoy it more before it's gone. I did enjoy their breakfast burrito, it is a smidge expensive, but it's solid. My partner is a black coffee drinker and he likes their Fruit Snacks brew for drip, says it's one of the best black coffees he's found in a while. The ambiance is very relaxed, the swing chairs are such a unique idea (at least in my experience) and they give the shop a fun vibe. I kind of wish they were in just a little bit bigger location, the last time I went it was fairly full inside and it would be great if they had a few more spots for comfy reading chairs - I would love to grab some snacks, a couple of drinks, and spend an hour or two reading there. It's definitely a warm environment and any time I'm in the area, I plan to head back.

I remember they have baked goodies that my husband would be interested in. He's doesn't like all the frilly stuff, just the good ol classics and Eagle Coffee has plenty of that! We came in around 12:30. It was pretty chill. A few guests outside enjoying the September weather and a couple guests inside. We checked out the food cases and found what we wanted. In my last review I had the keto quiche. It was a little overwhelming for me. The Mediterranean quiche was suggested so of course I had to try it. And it looked good in the food case. We were instantly greeted by a bunch a happy faces. I ordered the ham and cheese croissant for my husband. My Mediterranean quiche was ordered. I snagged a small iced cinnamon honey dirty chai with almond milk and a huckleberry lemonade for the husband. I believe everything we got is going to be so good! The ham and cheese croissant looked mighty tasty! It was nicely heated. You can tell it was nice and hot cause the ham and cheese was starting to slide out of the croissant. Husband smashed the whole thing and I wasn't even offered a bite. My quiche had beautiful pieces of zucchini and cheese on top. I really enjoyed the sun dried tomatoes in it. The filling was fluffy and soft. It was a great suggestion from the manager! I might have them heat it up just a hair longer next time, it could have been warmer. The huckleberry lemonade was killer!! It was tart, sweet and bubbly. I was only allowed one sip and I made sure it was big! My first round of chai did not look like normal and it didn't taste good. It was so dark and bitter. I did ask the barista if there was chai in my drink cause it didn't taste like chai. After we got it figured out, a new drink was made. My first one was not what I had ordered, I don't know what it was. My second round was almost perfect. The honey cinnamon chai was so good! It was sweet and spicy. I love the added cinnamon in there. It tastes like it should be cold and holiday season outside. I did pay for a shot of espresso to make it dirty which I never got. It was almost a cup of perfection. I really enjoyed our little coffee date here today. The food was good. Our drinks were tasty. The staff was nice. And it's conveniently down the road from us. I'm happy we stopped in today for our Sunday goodies. I look forward to another round of food and drinks from this joint.

They do have lots of seating options and the outside patio is great. Terrible parking lot and even harder to get in an out but that's par for the course given how hard it is to drive in Star with so much traffic and not enough street lights. Their sign even blocks left turns out of the lot so seems easy to get into an accident. The lot is a huge dip. Although I was there on a weekday afternoon for a few hours, I observed it's moderately popular and people were on Teams calls. Given the limited options, I guess thats why? For now, it's terrible coffee with a bad smell and annoying parking lot. So, I checked out the drink list on the front of the counter while I waited. The gals behind the counter weren't friendly but they weren't rude, they were just there. I asked for thier sugar free options and was handed a list. To my surprise, they had quite a few SF options which was great! You can only do much SF vanilla, caramel and hazelnut. With so many options available, I was excited to order my drink. I got a med iced americano with sugar free peanut butter and white chocolate. I thought I could mimic a snickers. To be able to have SF peanut butter as an option was dope! I did ask for cream in my iced americano. My drink was ready pretty quickly. I scoped out the area upstairs. It's quite cozy and relaxing up there. There's also an outer deck which will be nice for spring and summer coffee dates. I adore the old decor they have. I also noticed all their syrups that they have available! Their syrup game is on point! Bottles upon Bottles! My drink was good. I do wish there was a hair more cream. The flavors were there, I should have added a pack of sweetner to sweeten it a little more but I didn't mess with it. The espresso was present but on the watered down side. It wasn't the best but it was a nice to get that much needed afternoon caffeine jolt. This coffee joint is cute and cozy. I adore the outdoor seating in the front and back of the venue. My drink was ok. Customer service could be worked on a bit. I'm hardly in Star but we will see if I'll be back. Maybe my next experience will be better than today's.

I also think they have the biggest alt milk selection of any local coffee shop I've been to, and I've tried basically all of them around here. Their seasonal drinks are consistently good too. One underrated thing? They're one of the only coffee shops in Eagle actually open on Sundays and open later into the afternoon. That's surprisingly rare around here. (Yes, Eagle Coffee & Bakery is open too, but their coffee always tastes burnt to me.) This place clearly thought about how people actually use coffee shops. Tons of seating options, lots of outlets, side tables that work well for laptops, a big upstairs group table, plus a little play kitchen and games for kiddos. I have had the pleasure of checking out their downtown locations, especially their location at the Sparrow. It's such a great vibe down there! After finding out that this location is right down the road from me, you know I had to make my way in. I came in later in the morning so it was pretty chill. The venue is bright and simple. I love the simplicity of everything. The walls aren't over decorated. The tables and chairs and nicely spaced, the big windows give such great bright lightening and there's wonderful outdoor seating available too. I initially was on the wrong end of the counter. I finally realized and made my way to the register. I wasn't greeted by a barista. She wasn't the friendliest but she wasn't rude, she was there. She got my order squared away and I just hung out till it was ready. While waiting, I did notice all the goodies they had available. The baked goods looked fresh and yummy. I do believe they have a chia seed pudding in the little refrigerated case, it looked good. I'll have to grab some chia seed pudding the next time I'm in! I got myself something different from my normal americano. Today's drink was an iced matcha with almond milk. I did ask for some sugar free syrup. The few couple drinks I have gotten from the two other locations were Chai so it's good to know about not having sugar free syrups as an option. The barista did offer me honey or maple syrup as an alternative. I took up on her suggestion for the honey. My drink looked fabulous. It was rich in color. I really like the ice they serve here, it's great ice to chew on. I do like my coffee/tea to be slightly sweeter so I did end up adding a couple packets of blue sugar to my drink. I did a good few sips before I added the extra sweetner. It was hearty in matcha and you can taste the creaminess of the almond milk. The honey was there but the added sweetener did help enhance the honey. I enjoyed the nice weather today and had my drink outside. They have quite a few options for outdoor seating. Picnic tables, a few andorak chairs and a pint size picnic table for kids were available. I appreciate the big umbrellas at the picnic tables. It gave nice shade. In the space between the coffee shop and the boutique next door is where a lot of the seating is. It's quite charming and relaxing. I adore the strung up lights. I couldn't really enjoy them today since it was so bright out but I can imagine it being a great way to end day in a fall day. A hot cup of coffee, sitting in a huge andorak chair under the lights. It's great to know this local coffee joint is right down the road from me. I have always gotten great drinks from the other Form and Functions so it's nice to have this location as an option. My drink was good and it was nice being able to enjoy it under a huge umbrella today. I do wish the staff was a little friendlier. I came later in the day so my mood is already set. I couldn't imagine having the people working today start my day. I wouldn't be in the best mood. Hopefully the customer service will be a pleasant as my drink the next time around.

It has a very local, community feel that's getting harder to find. The coffee itself is fine -- not terrible, not "drive across town for it" amazing either. I usually just get the unlimited refill cup and drink from one of their mugs while I work for a bit. Where this place really shines is the baked goods and breakfast food. You can smell everything being made from their little kitchen, and it feels genuinely homemade in a way most coffee shops don't anymore. Their molasses cookies are somehow available year-round and I'm not exaggerating when I say if they're sold out, my day takes a turn. The quiche Lorraine is also legitimately excellent with a buttery crust, and they usually have a surprisingly good variety of gluten-free baked goods too. One thing I oddly appreciate: no music and no giant café chaos. Also no plugs, so this isn't the place to camp for 6 hours on a laptop. But if I need a quiet spot to answer emails or get 1-1.5 hours of work done without distraction, this is actually one of my favorite places to go.

I came to this location nearly everyday on the way to work and on two occasions they double charged me, claiming my first payment method declined and charging me once on both the "declined" card and new card. When reaching out to customer service they denied crediting my account and began ignoring me. Luckily I was able to file a dispute through my credit card company but I am absolutely disappointed in the customer service of this location. I have never been to a Dutch Bros location where duplicate charges has been a problem nor would I ever expect the company to be so difficult to deal with. I would not attend this Dutch Bros anymore due to their repeated charges and refusing to resolve their mistakes.
