Egg n bird has some of the most beautifully creative and delicious menu items that ive seen comparatively to other fast food fried chicken. Every single thing that ive gotten from there from the sandwiches to the bowls all the way down to the sauce is exquisite. So much so, I always have a hard choice picking my winning combination for the visit! The service is always excellent. Every time i go in the crew is welcoming and greets me on entry. It really makes me feel like i matter. Not only that, but the team members are incredibly personable. On many occasions ive gone in and have had very grounding, down to earth talks with the kind young man Connor. All that being said The ambience has no room for criticism. It is a fast food restaurant therefore it doesn't require ambience because they are they to provide you great food in a timely manner, which they do. So if you have a critique for the setting and ambience, i would say that you need to remember where you are. I came here for National Guard training and was thoroughly disappointed. It was my first visit and I will not me returning to it. 10 April 2023 12:40 to 1:10 1. I had to wait 50 minutes for my food, they did say they were short staffed but thats not the whole reason 2. They got my order wrong. I ordered the loco bowl and added avocado but there was no avocado and no sauce was put on top of the bowl 3 I was order number 51 and they gave the food to 55 first they didnt even call out my number or 52 to 54. 4 I asked if my food was being made 30 in. They said it was, but that was a lie, no apology 5 After 55 was called i complained on my my food was later than people who ordered behind me. They clearly gave my food to someone else or dismissed my order completely 6 They offered a refund but failed to immediately initiate the refund. They told me I have to wait for a manager to process the refund. It may take 48 to 72 hours to start the refund Edit: Update, never received the refund 7 After i was offered the refund and i accepted, the cashier tried to cancel my order. That meant that after waiting 50 i almost didnt get anything to eat 8 They gave an excuse that the cashier came back from lunch and didnt know what was going on 9 After they realized they failed to process my order they made the food which only took 2 minutes. This place is great! Been coming here to grab a snack when I'm in the area since they opened. I've tried about half the items on the menu so far and I've yet to be disappointed. The chicken is perfectly cooked - tender and juicy. They weren't kidding when they appropriately named it "crack sauce" cause whatever's in it is addicting! It has the right amount of flavor and heat that makes you wanting more. Last time I visited, I had FC Banh Mi Sandwich and Hot Elote Fries. All the different ingredients/flavors of the banh mi sandwich perfectly complimented each other. I love me a good slaw! Whoever came up with this idea should get a raise. Since my original review I have had 4 subsequent visits. Three which where spectacular. The food was great, the service was great. Clearly 5 stars. I left work late on Friday night and arrived at the counter at 8:55 PM to place an order (they close at 9 PM) and unfortunately couldn't place my order. In fairness, I don't expect a review reader to agree with me on this but if you close at 9 PM--on a Friday night of all nights--why wouldn't orders be taken until the doors close at 9 PM. The shop should close then at 8:55 PM. And also in fairness the cashier was professional and polite in conveying the news so I give her credit for that. Not easy to pass along the message. From a business/labor standpoint, it saves money to clean up faster, maybe go home faster, good for employee morale. That I get. From a service standpoint it's unfortunate and says a lot about their Friday night service/business. Anyways, leaving at least two stars because the food would have been great and the cashier was nice. I asked her about the signature Korean chicken bone in that was on the menu and she said "we don't have that", proceeded to cut me off and pointed down and said "there's the menu". Zero customer service skills. She said "you're probably talking about the other location". Funnily enough I did not know there was another location and we only discovered this restaurant a couple months ago. I came home to look for the menu we took home, and sure enough, this bone in chicken was on there. Peep the menu address so you know I'm not lying! With so many great choices ranging from sandwiches, bowls, tenders and fries, it was tempting not to try everything on the menu! I ended up choosing the Korean bowl, which was super unique with wild rice, tender pieces of fried chicken, pickled veggies, a fried egg and spicy mayo. I opted not to go for the spicy mayo, but instead asked for sides of their famous "crack sauce" which I've heard so much about! I'm glad I did this because the sauce (similar to a volcano sauce) complemented all of the various textures of the bowl perfectly and had just the right spicy kick I was looking for! There were quite a few people when I stopped by since it was around dinner time on a weekday, but the staff was really cheerful and efficient. I believe Melissa took my order and she was so incredibly warm, helpful, and offered me an iced coffee with their housemade creamer while I was waiting for my order, which was delicious, smooth and subtly sweet! I have to give this place another chance. I ordered the Island Bird Bowl online and waited a few minutes to receive my order when I came to pick it up. I was pretty excited to try this new place but it didn't meet all my expectations. First, the rice is pilaf and not jasmine rice which was very disappointing. This place seems to have some Asian influence on the dishes so that was surprising. I'm personally not a fan of pilaf because it reminds me of cardboard. Secondly, the vinegar slaw was not vinegar-y or salty enough. Thirdly, the mac salad was underwhelming. I'm used to how Hawaiian or islander place make it and this was not anything near it. What held this somewhat together was the fried chicken and cholula hot sauce they gave. Picked up dinner at Egg N Bird tonight and had the Nashville Hot Sandwich and choose the extra hot heat level. I've had a lot of hot chicken sandwiches and often they tend to sacrifice taste and flavor for heat. This is not the case with the Nashville Hot Sandwich from Egg N Bird, the chicken is very crispy with a decent amount of heat (extra hot isn't a wild hot, you can do it. Yes, you so go for it). Excellent flavor when combined with the crack sauce, pickles and slaw; the sandwich is a definite try. I also had the fries are seasoned and crispy and for sure not an after thought side dish. I ordered the tenders combo with Nashville Hot in the extra hot level and it was the perfect amount of heat! Most places that claim they're hot are a let down, but Egg N Bird was top tier--super hot and delicious, without being so hot it's inedible. The batter on the chicken was a soft but super crispy, it was really delightful! My husband got the Tenders with Korean style sauce and it was good, as well, but I feel like the Nashville style is where they really shine! The staff was super friendly and the prices are actually lower than a lot of Nashville hot places I've been to. I was here a few hours ago and this has to be one of the most immediate reviews I have written in awhile lol. This place has potential, here's my opinion on the 2 items I ordered this afternoon. Egg N Bird Sandwich: (4 out of 5) Tasty. The chicken was tender, the brioche bun was soft and fluffy. Quality is definitely there. The flavor of the chicken is more of a slight salty sweetness which is nice. The only thing missing for me is some spice, some kick because being Asian, I like spicy food. I wish they had a spice level. Even POPEYES offer chicken sandwiches in regular or spicy. I think it's a missed opportunity by not allowing that option. Aside from that- great sandwich. Island Bowl: (1 out of 5) This was the biggest letdown for me. I actually found this place on Yelp today before leaving work and wanted to try their rice bowl. Getting the chicken sandwich was an afterthought. Thankful I ordered the sandwich otherwise the overall rating for this place and my overall view would be quite sour. This rice bowl was insignificant. It sounds harsh but when I ate it, the flavor or lack there of was all I can think of. It was nothing special. The mac salad didn't taste like the ones I am used to from Hawaiian places which is OK but it just didn't taste like much. The vinegar slaw is a strange addition to the bowl. Not really acidic or vinegar-y enough it just felt like a bowl filler. The wild rice, well, let's just say I am not so wild about the taste or texture of it. I would have preferred steamed white rice over that. Not sure if the chicken used for the bowl is different than the ones in the sandwiches but it was very rigid and dry. It did not taste like the one in my egg n bird sandwich. The portion of chicken is small compared to the amount of rice, mac salad and slaw there is in the bowl. With that being said- I just couldn't finish even half of it and had to throw it away. So flavorless and dull. I am glad that I ordered the sandwich and ate that first because it set the standard for what I know they are capable of. This rice bowl though, just a big no. Overall- I'd be open to trying more sandwiches from their menu but hesitant about any other bowls or even the fries since the chopped up chicken tastes different than the sandwich ones. But until any change is made with their rice bowls- I am staying away from that and strictly sticking to the sandwich. I also feel like their cluck sauce or whatever they call it, should be included in every order- at least one packet of it. Legends Hot Chicken down the street throw in their house sauce with every order and charge for extra so I just had to compare. We got the Korean bowl and the Nashville hot chicken sandwich (hot) combo. The sandwich was good, the right level of spicy (we got the middle spicy level). Not too spicy, but not bland. The Korean bowl was so good. The crispy fried chicken with Korean slaw and sauce was perfect with rice. Their fries were the best thing there. It's like curly fries, so good. She seemed highly annoyed when I asked a few questions regarding the menu and or asking for a modification Second: I'm pretty disappointed that you can only choose a heat level for one sandwich. I wanted to add heat to nearly everything that had chicken on it but didn't just want the Nashville Hot sandwich. This was probably the most disappointing part of the experience. So, I work at a restaurant as a server in Buena Park, and I ordered delivery from here while I was working. Their Korean Bowl is literally the most amazing thing in terms of flavor and fuel (I needed the rice and chicken for energy haha), the taste of the sauce and chicken is a perfect pair, and their prices are absolutely perfect for the portion for one! Today, I came to their location in Cypress with my girlfriend, because my coworker and I who ordered from here the few days before talked abt how we just HAD to pull up and see what it was about. Yet again, it tasted amazing and it left us fulfilled and super satisfied. I mentioned earlier I work as a server in a restaurant, the reason being: I really have to commend Dena, the sweet women that left us smiling and happy from the moment we entered to the second she sent us off good bye! She had the best energy especially in comparison to the weirdos in BoH that just stared at us constantly, and the manager and lead(?) lady who it seemed like just chillin, sitting at the customer tables, not even acknowledging fully another customers complaints. On top of everybody in this establishment, Dena's energy is so natural and friendly, in addition to the fact that she really knows how to upsell and recommend good suggestions from their menu! She would make an amazing server, she knows how to tend towards her customers and provide an excellent experience. New chicken place in Cypress located on the corner of Katella and Knott (Ross side). The place is modern/trendy, has 5 dining tables, two all gender restrooms. I love that the female staff have cute yellow bandanas. It's a great place to go for a meal. I ordered 2 Korean hot sandwiches and used the check in offer for free soda! Their machine was down at the moment so they offered bottled sodas. Chicken took about 20 minutes to come out. The sandwich was good! Chicken piece was HUGE and crispy. My family and I decided to give egg n bird a try today and they did not disappoint. Here is what's we ordered, Loaded Brekkie the beer battered potatoes and the fried egg were delicious, the loaded bird fries were also great, and the Nashville bowl had the right amount of rice and chicken. The service was excellent the ladies were very attentive and checked on us periodically. Overall we were very satisfied with everything and we are definitely coming back. read more

I've been here twice for breakfast. First time I got the avocado toast with added bacon, and the second time was the bacon and cheese toast. Both times service was good, employees are friendly and helpful. Food takes a bit to make but it's fresh so understandable. The only small gripe I have is that the toast is placed on a paper inside the to-go container. I have to use a fork and knife since it's big and messy but each time I end up eating some paper lol. It ends up getting cut along with the toast. Maybe next time I'll ask for an extra plate. I'm curious to try other items so will be back. read more

It was very close to closing (I messed up on the timing), so I ordered our food on the way there. They don't take orders over the phone and are only taken online. Super easy to do and straight to the point. Staff were super kind and quick. Food: Bahn Mí Chicken Sandwich(8/10): Asian slaw that topped the chicken was perfect, julienned nice and thin. Marinated with a great dressing. Brioche bread was nicely toasted. Chicken was nice and thick, a little thick on the breading but overall great crisp and flavor. Chicken had crack sauce drizzled on it with the Asian slaw, and fresh jalapeños. Loco Bowl(10/10):wild rice was cooked perfectly, great texture and flavor. Served with chopped up chicken tenders (a little too much breading, for me personally). Chicken tenders were covered with a nice sweet savory soy sauce and grilled onion, and with a generous side of buttery creamy scrambled eggs. Island Bowl(10/10):bowl was lined with a generous portion of wild rice, Asian slaw, macaroni salad (tasted like the kind you would get packaged at the deli), and a generous portion of chopped chicken tenders topped with a delicious sauce. BBQ Fries(9/10): perfectly seasoned crispy fries, topped with liquid gold aka queso. Generous portion of the chicken tenders, garnished off with cilantro, red onion, and a drizzle of bbq sauce! This is a perfect munchies dish and is great for that cheat meal you have wanted all week. My top two dishes had to be the bowls. Would highly recommend the bowls. The cashier got it right, receipt shows it, and she confirmed my order with me and even mentioned/joked about the extra sauce it when I picked up the burrito, but I don't know if the cook thought I wanted no sauce or what, but there is definitely no sauce at all in this burrito. I've been here a couple times. It's a new business, and I think they're still getting their bearings with a couple things. I also know that it's been hard to find help, and I'm sure that comes into play. The first time we went here, we did a to-go order and got the Egg N' Bird sandwich and the breakfast burrito. Unfortunately, they got our order wrong, and we didn't notice until we got home. So they ended up giving us one of the breakfast toasts that doesn't even have chicken. I'll start off by saying that was disappointing. Then, the burrito just wasn't ANYTHING special. The chicken loses it's flavor and crunch being inside the burrito. Also, there was BARELY any chicken in it. The first time was NOT a good experience. After that though, my husband and I both have successfully tried the Egg N' Bird a couple times. That sandwich is GREAT! It's got amazing flavor, good ingredients, it's filling (I eat it over two servings), and the sauce they put on it is also great. We've also gotten the fries there. If you're not going the breakfast route, I highly recommend their loaded fried as well. The fries themselves are really good, and then the toppings just add the extra wow factor. My boyfriend is a plain guy so he had ordered his sandwich just plain, so he specified on the order that he wanted some things taken off. His sandwich included everything he didn't want. Now both our orders are completely wrong so we decided to call the place and get a refund since we live far away and didn't want to go back to get it fixed. The manager told us they could only refund my order because it they gave us the wrong item and not my boyfriend Sandwhich because "it wasn't their fault".
