I'm so happy this branch opened up. The original Cupertino location was my go-to for egg sandwiches. They also had my favorite version of hojicha strawberry milk tea. When the Cupertino location closed I tried another location and was pretty disappointed. Nothing tasted right. Since then I've stopped going to Egghead, but we were in the area and I was curious about how this one would compare, since all the chains seem to be run by different folks. I love this location! My ultimate sando was SO GOOD. The caramelized onions were perfectly cooked and the eggs were so soft and pillowy. The hojicha tastes just as good as the original location in Cupertino which was not the case for the other location I tried. The strawberry puree is different but I like it, slightly less sweet with lots of bits of fresh strawberries. Not going to complain about more real fruit and a healthier version of my favorite drink! (The location I don't like is too sweet, doesn't seem to use a lot of real fruit and their hojicha doesn't taste right) so I was thrilled that this location got everything right. The space is nice for hanging out with plenty of seating. And I don't have to wait 2 hours for food when it's busy like I did in Cupertino. Our wait was normal btw, and I'd rather wait longer (within a normal time frame) for freshly cooked food. For folk who need to get the food right away, I'd just order ahead... Seems like Egghead Sando is opening up locations everywhere. I've only tried the Cupertino location once before a few years back, ordered via Doordash but didn't really like it. I wanted to give them another try at their newest location since it was close to home. They're located in the Rancho Santa Teresa Plaza, same as Rite Aide and 24HR Fitness, right off of Santa Teresa Blvd. So far we've dined in twice now. The first time, we came around 10:15am on a Saturday and they were a little busy with dine-in and togo orders. The restaurant was pretty spacious and clean. Their wall menu only had names of the items they offered, no description or prices. Had to look at the hand menu on the clipboards to check those. We ordered with the cashier, was given a buzzer and sat ourselves at an open table. We saw racks of brioche buns, so it looked promising! It took about 15 minutes to get our food. Second time we went months later, the food came out a lot faster. Both times we ordered.. ULTIMATE SANDO $12.75 -three eggs scramble, fresh chives, caramelized onion, avocado, sausage, pepper jack cheese, house sauce on a warm brioche bun. They ran out of avocado the first time, so they allowed us to substitute it with something else. The cashier girl asked if we wanted arugula or tomatoes.. but not a fan of either on a breakfast sandwich so we asked for thick cut bacon instead (LOL), which she said was no extra charge. YES. The sandwich was good. It was huge and juicy. Just kinda hard to eat because of the size, it was a two biter for me to get a bit of everything. The brioche bun was soft and had a bit of sweetness. The scrambled eggs were seasoned, sausage was good but there was some kind of herb in it that we didn't like. Maybe fennel because it reminded me of the sausage you get on pizza? Couldn't really see or taste much caramelized onions. So glad we were able to add the bacon because it elevated the sandwich. The 2nd time we ordered the sandwich, we asked to sub avocado for bacon, and it was still at no extra charge. It ended up having a bit of avocado anyways, no complaints here! Tasted better than I remembered too. 4/5* TATER TOTS $4.50 -crispy and tasted like hash browns but in tater tot form! Ask for ketchup. 4/5* Overall, very satisfying breakfast! Went in on a Tuesday afternoon and there was no wait. Nice little place, there was an aroma of the sauces they use, which I personally liked. Me and a friend put our order in, headed to the coffee shop a few doors down, and came back with our drinks to a prepared order. I got the side chic and added in caramelized onions. Spoiler, don't waste the money on the onions. Now this doesn't speak poorly on them, the sandwich just already has so much flavor you don't need to add to it. The grilled chicken was MASSIVE and absolutely delicious. Loved the spice level, the sauce, and the ingredients. Brioche was soft and delicious too. Will order again. My friend got the fried chicken sandwich with no sauce. In their opinion it was very spicy, so a lot of breading with the spice seasoning got removed. They stated the sauce probably would have counterbalanced the heat, but they just don't like sauce on any sandwich (an opinion I don't share lol). Overall though a giant sandwich with great taste. Came here around noon on a Saturday. I figured since its still fairly new, it would be a chill place to have coffee and study. Staff was nice, service was fast, place was clean. I like the saltiness but something about the seasoning I'm not used to. I'm debating if I like it. The bun was good. It has a nice chewy texture and the mayo aioli really elevates the sandwich. The Hawaiian Morning has arugula which helps to balance the taste of the sandwich with spam inside. It made it taste more refreshing. I honestly like both sandwiches a lot. Next time, I will try their other sandwiches! I was excited to come here for the first time but on the way here there was some traffic. I saw on my GPS that I could still make it on time so I continued to drive there. I arrived at 2:50 PM and saw a burger menu and was confused so I asked if that was egg head restaurant. The guy at the counter said that egghead closes at 3 and they switch to a burger place after. I said "but it's not 3 yet". He said "yeah but there's a transition phase where the cooks need to transition to get ready for the burger menu". I told him they should change the closing time for egghead to 2:50 then. I know it's not his fault and he didn't make the rules but who ever runs that place needs to update the closing time because saying it closes at 3 is disingenuous. Closing 10-15 minutes early is the kind of unprofessional stuff that restaurants with poor customer service do these days. This wasn't a normal or acceptable thing until recent years. read more

My go-to fast breakfast is a McDonald's Egg McMuffin sub scrambled eggs (the round egg is slimy to me) with no meat. It annoys me to no end they charge me the same amount even without the Canadian bacon. Today I tried the EggHead scrambled eggs with chives and cheese sando, hold the onions and mayo. It was pretty good, but $11 for a meatless sandwich that is mostly bread is steep. The scrambled eggs were also weird, broken into little bits. Makes me wonder how they make them -- definitely not the way I make French-style soft scrambled eggs in a pan. They were soft but not fluffy, and they were messy because the little egg bits drop all over the place. Didn't see a chive (guess they were there) and it was a tad salty. The toasted brioche bun would be great for a burger, but it is really thick -- I'm not a big bread eater so it was too much for breakfast with an egg and cheese sandwich. I also got the strawberry Hojicha latte with no sugar. It was fine (mild Japanese tea with puréed strawberry, seeds and all) but not worth $6. Order was ready when I arrived. I was excited to try this place, but $21 for an egg and cheese mostly bread sandwich and a tea drink to go is a lot unless it's spectacular, which to me this is not. Sort of feels like a tech bro overpriced McDonald's. So I'll go back to the tried-and-true Egg McMuffin, substitute scrambled eggs and hold the meat. Believe it or not the scrambled eggs at McDonald's are fluffier and don't fall all over the place in weird little balls. And it's a lot cheaper. read more

So far so good... glad there's finally an Egghead closer to the south san jose area. Though we've usually ordered the tater tots or Eggy from the Cupertino location, we ended up trying something different so I can't totally compare against the Cupertino location that we had often frequented. We came for a late Sunday lunch and when first walking in, you could either order from a kiosk, or a cashier. After taking a quick look at the menu, we went up to the cashier as there was a group of 5-6 people deciding what they wanted at the kiosk. I ordered the Side Chic, while my partner got the Breakfast burger and the Sunburst. The juice came out quickly and was very refreshing, but the sandwiches took quite a while to come out. I wondered if it was because we ordered at the same time as the large group, but besides that group, the restaurant itself wasn't overly crowded; there were two other tables already seated with food. My partner enjoyed his burger, but he felt the bun to meat ratio was a little off, and meanwhile, my chicken was overflowing out both side of the sandwich. I would say that was probably the most redeeming quality of the sandwich, how large the chicken portion was. Unfortunately, both of our eggs in our sandwich were not runny, so we didn't get the ooey gooey-ness we normally would from these sandwiches. Trying out Egghead on Santa Teresa Blvd. & Cottle today (where the old McDonald's was... upgrade! Less homeless loitering!!! ) I always feel like we could use more breakfast options so I was glad to see this place! MENU: I think I they should either round out their menu with one more healthier breakfast sandwich option (would sell great) or go ahead and replace one of the sandwiches they have with a healthier one (I'm sure one of them can go as they're pretty similar). DECOR/VIBE: The vibe is EVERYTHING!! Add a plant wall to that entrance blue wall . Hang more plants, add more plants to walls, a couple more of those floor palm plants you guys have. Trust me, it's feeling a bit sterile and plain in here and MORE PLANTS will change the game. SERVICE: I also think greeting the guests with a hello and a smile and having a human interaction couldn't hurt.
