Love this spot when visiting Fort Bragg. It's quaint and charming. The service is always great but be advised, they will fill up very quickly on the weekends. We went on a Tuesday about 9:00am and it was quiet and had plenty of open seating. Hubby got the corned beef hash and I got the eggs Benedict (of course). The restaurant is moving to a more sustainable future and they've swapped their plates to a compostable plate made from sugarcane! How great is that? I didn't notice a difference while eating the food. The corned beef hash was excellent and the perfect portion size. The Benedict was great as well, and I always appreciate a restaurant that can properly poach an egg. I find their hollandaise to be mild but enjoyable. Overall, I enjoy this hole in the wall spot and will continue to stop in when I am visiting! read more

I went here over ten years ago and I had a great time. I just received the chance to return and everything was just as good as I remembered it. Our server was kind and friendly, giving us recommendations on what to try and what he liked himself. The restaurant is small and with the amount of service they get, I hope one day they are able to move locations. The wait time was around twenty minutes and wasn't too bad at all. I got the corn flour cakes and they were such a delicious take on pancakes. They even had blueberries inside of them which was a very nice touch. Can't wait to return! read more

We had the eggs Benedict and the Canadian bacon was so good. The restaurant is small with limited seating, so plan for a wait just in case. Me and my Wife have a wonderful time with this restaurant. They are on the Middle of Downtown Mendocino. And facing the Historic Guest House. My nana and I ordered the Lion's Mighty breakfast that comes with 2 eggs, red country potatoes, sprouted wheat toast and your choice of protein with a delicious slice of pineapple. We also had coffee and fresh orange juice. The OJ is a must because it is the most delicious orange juice i've ever had. Perfectly cold too, as I like. We had the Benny Flo-Eggs Benedict with spinach and avocados... light lemon in the hollandaise sauce- they have tapatio hot sauce. We walked in at 9am and were seated right away . Parking was a breeze too. The service is excellent and they attended nicely to our needs without being overly present. The food came out fast. This was a quaint little spot after we took a train ride on the Skunk train. Got there an 1 hr before they closed and staff was really warm greeted us enthusiastically. The owner of the cafe must be a fan of the movie the Wizard of OZ as the entire menu is Oz themed. Settled on a Dungeness crab, avocado, cheese, tomatoe omlette and my guy got the crabbywitch.. both of us got potatoes.. The food was so fresh and arrived quick. I couldn't recommend this place more. The food is delicious. We came in Saturday morning and the place was absolutely packed! There was about a 25 minute wait but they take your cellphone number down and send a text when your seats ready. The food was not good. The Hollandaise sauce was very mustardy and tasted like it was old. It was laying on an old soggy English muffin. The potatoes were average at best. The pancake was not fresh but from a box mix. The French toast tasted like it was made from cheap bread from Walmart. As much hype as this place has and the large bill at the end I expected much better food. The Wizard of Oz theme was cute but you can hardly see it with the place being so narrow and cramped and the booth backs being so high. Also, the bathroom is an outhouse and is super cramped. About a 15 minute wait at 10:15 on a Sunday morning. They take your number and we checked out the great bookstore next door while we waited. Interior is cute, albeit small. Food was awesome. Crab was super fresh (as expected on the NorCal coast) and the poatatoes were incredible! They are seasoned with rosemary but I also got a delightful bright note that I couldn't quite identify. My gf and I came in around 7:30 on Sunday and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The waiter recommended the pumpkin waffle and said it was one of his favorites. I love pumpkin but I think the flavor was underwhelming and I wish the pumpkin taste was more prominent. The house made almond whipped cream on top was really good though and I think the bananas paired nicely with the waffle. The restaurant is small; it only has a few booths and tables. What a clever and unique spot. We visited this place two times on our vacation and I loved it. If you love The Wizard of Oz and good breakfast/brunch food then you are in for a treat. If you don't care about the Wizard of Oz but love good food and friendly service then you are also on for a treat. The atmosphere is a vibe, an eclectic mix of memorabilia and kitschy collectibles from The Wizard of Oz. The menu has some fun plays on different items named after characters. It's very cozy so be sure to have patience as seating can be difficult especially during a busy tourist season. We were fortunate to get seats right away. The service was outstanding, our booth not being comfortable for me it was easy to get seated immediately at a table of our choosing. We were immediately welcomed and offered beverages which was impressive. I was completely blown away by how many times my water and coffee were refilled. At one point I had to ask them not to refill anything. The first time we went I got a waffle and bacon. The bacon was so crispy and delicious. My waffle was good but I felt it wasn't how I would have made it, and that's on me. It was just a plain waffle. Now the second day I got an omelette and everything about it was delicious. Perfectly cooked. Veggies were crisp and full of flavor. The potatoes were crispy and soft on the inside, the seasoning was not overpowering or spicy. I loved the toast, though I did ask for some butter because I think my butter melted too soon. The servers were so delightful and accommodating, truly provided such great service. Came here at 10:15am on a Sunday. Waited half an hour to be seated and another half hour for food. The restaurant itself is small and cutely decorated with Wizard of Oz memorabilia. The host is the physical embodiment of sunshine. French Toast - This was three thick, soft pieces bread with strawberry, banana, dusted sugar, and a side of vanilla yogurt. Can't go wrong with this. #23 Omelette - This was tasty; it had sausage, cheese, and other veggies. Cowardly Lion - This was biscuits, gravy, sausage patties, and their famous red potatoes. It didn't quite hit the mark for me. The sausage was salty and the gravy itself could've had more seasoning. It also threw me off that they squirted lemon on top so it had a tinge of sourness. Although the potatoes were good with hot sauce. I'm happy I had help with eating it. Tea - I'm not sure what type of fruit tea this was (peach probably) but it was so fragrant and washed down my food well. All of the dishes come on paper plates that get soggy and there's not enough space to cut your food. Overall I personally would pass on it if you're coming from a long drive + if you're super hungry (as was our case). However this restaurant has a home-y vibe and is a decent stop for American breakfast food, and everyone was lovely. read more

Three stars because the food was amazing, our waitress was sweet and attentive but two other employees were having a loud conversation about how one of them used to work in the pharmaceutical sales business but quit because of opioid sales. She went on to say that people who take opioids are all addicts, and how no one needs them. That's all fine for her, but it's absolutely not a conversation to be having in a public place. Perhaps someone is there that has cancer and takes pain meds, or a relative with a condition who is taking them. And of course, as a pain patient myself, there are hundreds of thousands of us who are not addicts and live a better life because we have proper and safe pain management. Please ask staff to keep their personal conversations private. read more
