Small joint on the main drag. Middle of the road food that comes on a "compostable" plate which really does nothing if not disposed of in a compose facility. I am not sure why someone would choose to throw hundreds of plates, everyday, in the trash. Oh and if you want to see something pretty amazing, check out their ceiling fans. Awesome place to grub! Outstanding service! My hubs got his ice tea refilled 4-5 times! The entire restaurant is Wizard of Oz themed so all the meals are named something from that movie. With paintings from the local high school, mementos remembering the film and other various interesting things to look at. We ordered the Uncle Henry's Favorite, the Lion, and the Emerald City Omelette. Food came out quick and was hearty and good! Filled us up on a rainy morning! If I lived near by I would return again. When we arrived at Egghead's Restaurant on Sunday morning, we were told there would be a 30 minute wait for our party of 3. However, we only ended up waiting about 10 minutes! The ambiance was casual, very much like a classic diner but with a Wizard of Oz theme. We were seated at a booth, which was surprisingly uncomfortable. Service was quick and the hot coffee refills came around pretty frequently. For food, I chose the Sloppy Dot sandwich and my friends both got the #14 Omelette with veggies. The Sloppy Dot was decent - expectedly messy to eat and very filling. It came with a choice of potatoes or fruit as a side, but I was too full from the sandwich to try the potatoes. The omelettes were pretty standard, as well. Overall, good for a casual breakfast but nothing life-changing. read more

So delicious! We actually ended up eating here because the place we were planning to eat at was closed. I'm so glad we did! We got eggs Benedict, a kids meal, and their corn pancake special. Everything was absolutely delicious! It sounds so strange, but my husband and I were blown away by the potatoes that came on the side with the eggs Benedict. Potatoes are usually just a random afterthought filler, but these were well cooked and incredibly well seasoned. The pancakes were unreal! I'm not even a huge pancake person, but I would go back just for those. Not too sweet, but so light and fluffy. Amazing! Love this spot when visiting Fort Bragg. It's quaint and charming. The service is always great but be advised, they will fill up very quickly on the weekends. We went on a Tuesday about 9:00am and it was quiet and had plenty of open seating. Hubby got the corned beef hash and I got the eggs Benedict (of course). The restaurant is moving to a more sustainable future and they've swapped their plates to a compostable plate made from sugarcane! How great is that? I didn't notice a difference while eating the food. The corned beef hash was excellent and the perfect portion size. The Benedict was great as well, and I always appreciate a restaurant that can properly poach an egg. I find their hollandaise to be mild but enjoyable. Overall, I enjoy this hole in the wall spot and will continue to stop in when I am visiting! read more

I went here over ten years ago and I had a great time. I just received the chance to return and everything was just as good as I remembered it. Our server was kind and friendly, giving us recommendations on what to try and what he liked himself. The restaurant is small and with the amount of service they get, I hope one day they are able to move locations. The wait time was around twenty minutes and wasn't too bad at all. I got the corn flour cakes and they were such a delicious take on pancakes. They even had blueberries inside of them which was a very nice touch. Can't wait to return! read more

Today I ventured to this veritable OZ with my son and boy did we catch the yellow brick road. It is always packed so be prepared for a wait, they have a text system in place. It is small and quaint immersed in a Wizard of Oz theme. The staff was pleasant and the service very quick. Our waitress even understood when I didn't want any carbs, though there was no discount . My nana and I ordered the Lion's Mighty breakfast that comes with 2 eggs, red country potatoes, sprouted wheat toast and your choice of protein with a delicious slice of pineapple. There was about a 25 minute wait but they take your cellphone number down and send a text when your seats ready.
