If you onky have time to do one thing in Fort Bragg make sure you stop in to David's. Here's to the chefs who make homemade salsa, cook perfect huevos rancheros, and serve up a plate of the biggest most delicious biscuits and gravy. Just don't plan on going swimming afterwards. Even on a crazy busy day the servers made time for a friendly chat. There is also a back room woth cozy chairs if you want to sit and read or let the kiddies play a bit. Always a dependable place to eat. It's just great breakfast place I love all the artwork on the walls and the staff is the best in town. This is such a great place! Delicious food and friendly service. The chicken fried steak was the best that I have ever had. Perfectly crispy on the outside, but also so tender that I could cut it with the edge of my fork. And the gravy on top was delicious! It contains bacon, which just takes it to the next level. The eggs were perfectly cooked, and the hashbrowns were perfectly crispy. I also loved the fresh rhododendrons on each table. So pretty! If I lived in Fort Bragg (and I wish I did), I would be a regular at David's, for sure! read more

Came here two days ago and decided to come back for seconds. It was a little busy, but plenty of tables were available. This time around, I went for the traditional bacon & eggs breakfast with hash browns and a pancake. The thick-cut bacon comes from Roundman's Smokehouse in town, and I just can't get enough of it. Nice smoky flavor and a delite to bite into. The hash browns are nothing fancy, but they didn't have to be. Loved the crispness on top and cooked fresh. The pancake was good as well. My wife's enchilada burrito was huge! She loved it all-around and said it had a small spicy kick to it. I took a bite and liked it. The chicken was nice and tender too. The servers always make you feel right at home like they've known you for years and that's refreshing. Funny story to end this: somehow I got hit in the forearm with a flying champagne cork and was told in Mexican tradition if that happens you're gonna be pregnant. This restaurant is what I would consider a hidden gem for someone who is not from Fort Bragg! This place isn't located right out in the open so my family and I only knew about it from looking online for places to try. The restaurant is very spacious in the inside with lots of seating, both tables and counter seating. The waitresses and staff were very friendly and you can tell that there are a lot of regulars that come here which I think is a good sign. They have a nice big menu of items to try. I got the breakfast sandwich and I got it on a croissant with bacon and the seasoned red potatoes. It was so good! Very tasty personally loved the cheese they used and the bacon was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were cooked great as well and it went nicely with the coffee I got to drink. Our food came out quick and we all were satisfied and had a bit leftover. This place was hopping! The service was excellent and the food was excellent. We went for breakfast on a Wednesday. The wait staff was very efficient. Beautiful photographs of the beach adorned the walls. My 80 year old mama and I were sitting at the table and a lovely woman walked up and ducked us! She delivered us both a yellow duck with sunglasses. She said she started out to bring sunshine to people and she had purchased a hundred of them. She is now working on her 300 bag. This is one of the best casual restaurants I've ever been to! The food is excellent, very fresh, creative, and portions are generous. I had a veggie omelette and I have never seen such a variety and array of colorful vegetables in any omelette! It was as delicious as it looked! I looked around at other tables to see what others were having to eat. Everything looked so good, that I wish I could come back and try all the different things that other people were having! And with some of the standard breakfasts, you get a choice of one pancake instead of toast or muffins. That's a nice touch, I've never seen that offered at other restaurants. First of all this restaurant was so good I went three times on my 3 day vacation for breakfast. This will always a staple while I am in Fort Brag! The owner is literally the sweetest lady I have ever met! She made sure to come over and meet my whole family and ask all of our names. The servers were the best I had the sassy waitress that has twins! (I'm terrible with names!) She made our day though I absolutely loved her! This was my 40th birthday trip! I would love to make it a tradition where every year for my birthday we go to Fort Bragg just to eat at this amazing restaurant and see these amazing people! Now the food!! My husband had Chiliquiles!! Mouth watering! My boys are picky one loves Mozzarella sticks and the other loves cheese burgers neither had a complaint and they were enough that they took them back to our room and ate them for a snack. The eggs Benedict and amazing hash browns were superb. My partner had the standard breakfast and we had so much leftover we left with an entire sandwich of English muffin and ham. Breakfast here is delicious, plentiful, and reasonably priced; at least the chicken fried steak with eggs, toast, and hash browns was. I had my two eggs poached soft and the hash browns extra crispy and chose an English muffin as my "toast" since they were out of sour dough. Everything was yummy, but after eating half of everything, I was stuffed. My dining companions had the steak and eggs and Monte Cristo sandwich respectively. The person who ordered the steak asked for medium with hard cooked eggs, so when she said it was a bit dry, I really didn't fault the cook; after all, who orders a medium steak and well cooked eggs?? The other person said her Monte Cristo was good but not the best she's had. She said she would have liked it to be crispier on the outside and she wasn't used to having the turkey in it. The wait staff was friendly and very accommodating. Coffee refills were offered several times and separating our orders into four checks didn't bother them at all. The place itself is located in a little strip mall type setting but is large and very open once you get inside. It is a sit anywhere establishment so we sat down and were promptly greeted with menus and drink orders. As soon as we closed our menus, they were right over to take our food order as well. Hubby got the corned beef hash and I got the pancake platter. We waited maybe 10 minutes for our food (mind you we were in on a Monday around 10:30am and they were moderately busy). The pancakes were huge and very fluffy. His heaping portion of food was easily enough for two people. The food was good, and the service was friendly. I ordered the fried chicken and gravy and it is probably one of the best breakfast meals I've had. The gravy was not too light or heavy and the fried chicken just maintained its crisp the entire time. The meat itself was really tender and I think it was combined with sausage to give it that extra umph. The service was really good - despite being very busy, we were served relatively quickly and the food came out faster than expected. They were really good about coming by to refill coffee frequently. My wife really enjoyed her pancakes - she said they were so airy that it was absorbing all the syrup she was putting onto it, and the hash browns were super crispy! Love this place! It is my go to whenever I am visiting fort Bragg! The food reminds me of being at home with the family and cooking a good Sunday morning breakfast! It's very cozy and homey feeling inside as well. Food is great, Employees are great, HOWEVER the owner treats her employees like garbage. I get the food industry is hectic but the way you treat your employees in front of your customers matter. I'm embarrassed for them and I'm embarrassed for you. I hope the new employee you brought to tears right in front of us finds a better, fulfilling, and non toxic work environment.
