Now this is a great breakfast place! It was packed when we got there, but they are efficient getting tables cleaned and people seated. The vibe in there is cool with art on the walls. The locals that came in were known by the owner by name. I had the chicken fried steak with eggs and the gravy was top notch! The potatoes are perfectly cooked, although they could be a little more seasoned. My wife got the veggie omelette, which had an abundance of vegetables. This is such a great place! Delicious food and friendly service. The chicken fried steak was the best that I have ever had. Perfectly crispy on the outside, but also so tender that I could cut it with the edge of my fork. And the gravy on top was delicious! It contains bacon, which just takes it to the next level. Came here two days ago and decided to come back for seconds. It was a little busy, but plenty of tables were available. This time around, I went for the traditional bacon & eggs breakfast with hash browns and a pancake. The thick-cut bacon comes from Roundman's Smokehouse in town, and I just can't get enough of it. Nice smoky flavor and a delite to bite into. The hash browns are nothing fancy, but they didn't have to be. Loved the crispness on top and cooked fresh. The pancake was good as well. My wife's enchilada burrito was huge! She loved it all-around and said it had a small spicy kick to it. I took a bite and liked it. The chicken was nice and tender too. The servers always make you feel right at home like they've known you for years and that's refreshing. This restaurant is what I would consider a hidden gem for someone who is not from Fort Bragg! This place isn't located right out in the open so my family and I only knew about it from looking online for places to try. The restaurant is very spacious in the inside with lots of seating, both tables and counter seating. The waitresses and staff were very friendly and you can tell that there are a lot of regulars that come here which I think is a good sign. They have a nice big menu of items to try. I got the breakfast sandwich and I got it on a croissant with bacon and the seasoned red potatoes. It was so good! Very tasty personally loved the cheese they used and the bacon was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were cooked great as well and it went nicely with the coffee I got to drink. Our food came out quick and we all were satisfied and had a bit leftover. David's consistently ranks as our absolute favorite breakfast spot in ALL of California without exception. That is from San Diego to Eureka and Ventura to Sacramento! As you enter the door you are warmly greeted and invited to choose a table. The server promptly arrives, orivides the menu, mentions the ( true) daily soecials and takes the drink order. When you put the menus down, they return to take the food order and answer a NY questions. The food order arrives a few minutes later and the server periodically asks if any drink refills are desired. The food is always delicious and VERY abundant. My personal favorite is the Beefy Joe with Irish potatoes or a fruit side, though all of the many choices are delicious. David's illustrates how an exceptionally managed and staffed restaurant should operate. As for ambiance, there's lots of tables without seeming crowded. Many local artist paintings, photos, etc.adorn the walls. It's a nostalgic nod to the family run places that made America home while traveling. read more

This place was hopping! The service was excellent and the food was excellent. We went for breakfast on a Wednesday. The wait staff was very efficient. Beautiful photographs of the beach adorned the walls. My 80 year old mama and I were sitting at the table and a lovely woman walked up and ducked us! She delivered us both a yellow duck with sunglasses. She said she started out to bring sunshine to people and she had purchased a hundred of them. She is now working on her 300 bag. This is one of the best casual restaurants I've ever been to! The food is excellent, very fresh, creative, and portions are generous. I had a veggie omelette and I have never seen such a variety and array of colorful vegetables in any omelette! It was as delicious as it looked! I looked around at other tables to see what others were having to eat. Everything looked so good, that I wish I could come back and try all the different things that other people were having! And with some of the standard breakfasts, you get a choice of one pancake instead of toast or muffins. That's a nice touch, I've never seen that offered at other restaurants. First of all this restaurant was so good I went three times on my 3 day vacation for breakfast. This will always a staple while I am in Fort Brag! The owner is literally the sweetest lady I have ever met! She made sure to come over and meet my whole family and ask all of our names. The servers were the best I had the sassy waitress that has twins! (I'm terrible with names!) She made our day though I absolutely loved her! This was my 40th birthday trip! I had my two eggs poached soft and the hash browns extra crispy and chose an English muffin as my "toast" since they were out of sour dough. The person who ordered the steak asked for medium with hard cooked eggs, so when she said it was a bit dry, I really didn't fault the cook; after all, who orders a medium steak and well cooked eggs?? The other person said her Monte Cristo was good but not the best she's had. She said she would have liked it to be crispier on the outside and she wasn't used to having the turkey in it. The wait staff was friendly and very accommodating. Coffee refills were offered several times and separating our orders into four checks didn't bother them at all. First off, the girls working the front were attentive and friendly - saying hello to each regular that came in, along with the tourists like myself.
