seriously, probably one of the BEST breakfasts we've had. we're here for a mother's day trip and drove by this place. was super curious so we walked in, immediately knew we wanted to eat here due to the Wizard of Oz theme. We ordered the Dorothy's revenge and by far the best Benedict i've had. Also got the famous punkin waffles, again the BEST waffles ever!!! my son loved his food too, usually hard getting a 2 year old to eat lol. now on to staff/ service. when we sat, they gifted me a beautiful rose for moms day and it took a lot in me not to cry. everyone is sooo sweet and the owner checked on us regularly! the whole family works here and everyone took SUCH good care of us and involved my son. we will for sure be coming here every time we visit. thank you egg fam for making the day so special!!!! read more

Great food and service. We met the owner, Becky, during our first visit. The food was the best breakfast we enjoyed during the visit and even went back for a second round on a different day during our 3 day trip. I got the burger and the Dungeness crap melt (make sure to ask for sourdough for this - a must) - both were delicious (and the home fries were crispy and well seasoned). My partner got the flying monkeys potatoes and the Dungeness crab omelette - both were also delicious to me, but the omelette did have noticeable use of butter so I would caution future patrons who are lactose-sensitive. Interior decor was very wizard of oz themed; it adds nicely to the charm of the yellow walls and warm/inviting energy in the small dining space offered. Definitely a memorable spot. The only reason I deducted the star is for the rewards system being unclear. I had my missing transactions caught up recently, but there are small placards on each table that advertises $10 off your next meal and $10 off on your birthday after you sign up for the rewards program; however, there are no clear instructions on how to redeem your rewards without having to explicitly ask the waiters/waitresses at the restaurant. I collected sufficient points to have $10 refunded for the second meal I had, but instead, I only collected points. I suppose I would be able to catch up at the future meal, but I live so far away, I would not be able to reap the benefits unless I decided to come out here to fort Bragg during my birthday. The likelihood is low since I live in the Bay Area. I would recommend making this clear, and for the rewards system/app to include clear instructions on how to redeem points collected for the discounts. read more

Small and good place for breakfast. They had long wait times on a Friday morning for just two people. It's a great mom and pops place with great and friendly staff. As for food, it was okay. The potatoes for breakfast were a little greasy but all food was served hot. They have different style egg Benedict which is not on the common English muffin but still good. We came by for sunday brunch since we were in town for the valentine's day weekend. They were absolutely packed! It was storming outside but people were forming a line to dine in. The restaurant has such a fun theme and I love their commitment to sustainability 10/10!! Food was very good, I had the corned beef which was prepared differently from how I i'm used to (which is explicitly stated in the menu) but it was great nonetheless! Restaurant was half empty with open tables and the server put us on a waitlist which is fine but then proceeded to ignore us after we returned to be seated 10 minutes later and having seated other people with still open tables. Came here for breakfast before riding the Skunk Train nearby. The place is tiny and we were seated at a small table, but it's good we got there when we did because it was starting to really pick up. The Wizard of Oz decorations throughout are pretty cool especially if you're a fan. The Biscuits and Gravy was really good and made from scratch. The over-medium eggs and bacon were also delicious. And the country potatoes were perfect. Nice crips on the outside but still fluffy potato inside. Wifey enjoyed her scrambled egg breakfast. One of Fort Bragg's best spots for breakfast. After a long, rhythmic stroll along the foggy edges of Fort Bragg, my little troupe and I slipped into Egghead's Restaurant like we knew exactly what we were doing. I arrived with the Cowardly Lion, already breathing heavy at the smell of bacon; the Scarecrow, hungry for stimulation of any kind; Dorothy, glowing with that post-adventure restlessness; and Toto, vibrating with unchecked desire for floor-level scraps. The food came out hot, confident, and unapologetically stacked. Dorothy's omelet spilled open in a way that felt personal. The Lion's bacon crackled and curved with intention, giving him the courage he pretends he doesn't crave. Pancakes lounged on the plate, thick and golden, soaking up syrup like they wanted it. Even the Scarecrow went quiet for a moment, which for him is intimate. As for me, a man of tin with a hollow chest cavity, I felt my joints loosen and my bolts warm. The coffee was dark, deep, and kept coming back to the table, refusing to let us leave too soon. Every refill felt like eye contact. Lingering. Suggestive. The server handled us with practiced ease, unfazed by the Lion's needy energy or Dorothy's slow, deliberate sips. There was patience there. Experience. The kind of calm that says, "Take your time." The room itself was cozy, low-key, and full of murmured satisfaction. Plates clinked. Syrup glistened. Outside, the mist pressed against the windows like it wanted in. Not a family friendly establishment I've been coming here for 30 ish years and always had great service and great food. We look forward to this on each trip to Fort Bragg. Last week, we planned to go on Thursday, the first day of our trip that they were open. We arrived with what I still consider a fairly small party, 4 adults and 2 children. We were greeted by a less than friendly hostess who informed us they do not seat groups of 5 or more, unless we'd like to split. As we are on a family vacation, and did not care to split, we asked if there was any way to accommodate the group, perhaps the 2 year old could sit on mom's lap? She responded "so you don't want to split? There's also a 45 min wait" Clearly annoyed that we didn't want to split our party, and despite open tables and tables that were currently seating more than 5 people by placing a chair at the end. We left due to the real bummer attitude of the staff member, disappointed, but were quickly cheered by the amazing friendly staff at Dennys that had no problem accommodating us. Again, I've been coming to Eggheads for many years, I understand it's a small restaurant, but a little friendliness and flexibility would have gone a long way. I also understand sometimes there is a wait. My only issue is when the wait time suddenly arises after we became an inconvenience. On previous trips we have chosen Eggheads and normally on a weekend when the line is out the door. Today though, on a quiet Wednesday we went right in and sat immediately. The decor is Wizard of Oz themed and done quite well. Ok, on to the food.... My wife had the grilled smoked turkey w/ mushrooms, quite tasty and huge! I opted for the Corned Beef Hash/ Not Hash as per the menu. Great plate of corned beef, fresh red potatoes and onions. Great flavor, but regrettably the corned beef was tough and very chewy. Cool breakfast joint with cute decor and the names of menu items aligned with the "wizard of oz" theme. The place is small, so seating is limited and a bit crammed. We were quoted a 25 minute wait to be seated on a Sunday morning, it actually took 35 minutes, luckily they text your phone so we were able to walk around downtown while waiting for our table to be ready. When we were finally seated, service was excellent. We got the spanish oz omelette, and uncle henry's farmhand favorite with eggs cooked overeasy and added patty sausage (they have several different options for sausage). We went on a Friday morning and were told there'd be a 25-minute wait, but we were seated in just 15, a pleasant surprise. My husband ordered the Dungeness crab omelet and really enjoyed it, though he noted that the eggs themselves lacked flavor. That said, I know many places leave the eggs unseasoned so diners can adjust to their own taste. The potatoes that came with his meal were absolutely delicious, crispy, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. He also got the hollandaise sauce made with tequila on the side, which he liked. I went with the Wicked Benedict, swapped the standard hollandaise for their champagne version, and subbed the potatoes for grilled veggies and there was no extra charge for any of the changes! The food was amazing; I had the Kansas pancakes, a hint of orange zest, maybe a bit of cinnamon, definitely the blueberry and just luscious. We took our chances on trying to get a table at this local gem. Most days there is a long line to get a table. We only had a 15 min wait and walked to a few shops while we waited. We received a text before the 15 minute estimate. All tables were full and the servers were super busy. We ordered the two egg combo, the 1/4 pumpkin waffle and the eggs Benedict. We really wanted the biscuits and gravy but you have to get there early before they run out. All is made fresh each day and due to popularity they do run out. No biggie since everything we had was so flavorful and well worth trying. Our only regret is that we didn't order a full serving of the pumpkin waffle. It was so good we really wanted more! Kitschy little breakfast spot w/ a cute ambience centered around a Wizard of Oz theme. Downtown on the main drag w/ plenty of on-street parking. Only 7-8 tables so there could be a wait during busier hours, but we went on a weekday and were able to get in and seated immediately. I got the Biscuits & Gravy and my wife got a Veggie Scramble. Both came red potatoes that were crispy & fluffy simultaneously. I would order either again as both were large delicious portions (my wife even ordered the "smaller" option and still could not finish it). The service was knowledgeable and prompt. Our server was so nice & helpful. After the meal we asked him about where would be a nice local restaurant to have a romantic birthday dinner and he had several wonderful suggestions.
