Nothing extraordinary about this place. I read online menu that the pancakes were "made from scratch". I haven't had pancakes in awhile. I asked the waitress how big they were as I don't each much and asked if they were a full plate, and she said no so I went for 2. No they were a big plate and if these are from scratch, change the recipe. All I tasted was OIL and not a fluffy pancake. I didn't need 2. The food I saw coming out didn't look like anything special. so I don't go out much because of the high prices and quality and service going down hill, and every time I do I feel like I should just take the $20 and put it in a shredder, cause that is the return I am getting. read more

Stopped in for a quick breakfast before heading to an Orioles game in Sarasota. While the restaurant was busy mid-morning, our wait was only 15 minutes. Once seated, our service was prompt and courteous. A very good selection of omelets and traditional breakfast fare. We had the Eggs Benedict, it was excellent. Nice to see a dish like this at a "diner". Portions were of good size, felt full upon leaving. Orange juice was fresh and the coffee was fine. Server did an excellent job of keeping my coffee full, which is important to me. We will return when we are again in Sarasota looking for a solid breakfast. Recommended. read more

Just wow. The menu clearly stated what was included with my breakfast. The "waitress" upcharged me. When I showed her on the menu, she argued vehemently. I was dumbfounded because it is stated so clearly. So I asked to speak with the manager/owner. Come to find out SHE IS THE OWNER. Unbelievable that an owner would treat a customer as I was treated by her. A simple breakfast for two was over $40. Never again for us. read more

Eggcellent spot for breakfast. Nice clean atmosphere and the service was fast. They serve breakfast (all day) and lunch. Omelets are huge and overstuffed! Got a veggie omelet and I think the veg to egg ratio was perfect. Comes with sides of choice, the hash browns were crispy and not greasy at all. Side of watermelon was fresh and refreshing. I came here for my birthday to have lunch with a friend and she ordered chef salad with balsamic dressing and I ordered a eggplant panini sandwich w/a cup of lobster bisque soup. I have to say I personally did not enjoy the eggplant panini. I thought it was so sloppy and not grilled but pressed. The eggplant with tomato was too wet and soggy I wasn't able to hold it or lift it off the plate once the cheese and melt and the bread was soaked. I think they need a panini press or the bread should be more toasted to absorb the fresh tomato. read more

Delicious tasty and fresh pancakes makes this a worthwhile spot in the Cattlemen and Bee Ridge zone. Only other option is a chain breakfast spot so this new location is a breath of fresh air. Service is great too. Friendly and attentive. Specials range from breakfast to lunch options and the portions are generous. The coffee is hot and comes in large cups to enjoy. Picked this place from Yelp for late breakfast. What a pleasant shy. Reasonable price for a huge bet. I ordered the Papa's breakfast. It came with everything including the best grits I have ever eaten. Place was clean and friendly staff. The table was set with cloth napkins, coffee came paper doily and saucer. A nice touch. Although it was a busy Sunday, we were seated quickly. The waiter was busy and although he wasn't very personable, he was very accommodating to our needs. Because it was busy, it took the waiter about 5 min before taking our order. He was apologetic the whole time and thanking us for our patience. It took about 20 min for our food to come and my hash browns did not come out crispy on both sides like I requested. Our waiter immediately called for another order, but it took so long to come that I didn't get to enjoy it with the rest of my meal. Our water and coffee were topped off frequently and the food was good. I ordered the Supreme breakfast with turkey bacon and rye. My husband ordered the papa's breakfast with a blueberry pancake (that was $1.95 extra). Overall, it was a good experience. Next time we will try to come when it's not so busy. read more

I thought this place had pretty good food, good atmosphere and the staff were very friendly to us. It's a nice place that caters to all sorts of food for breakfast (that's when we ate there) and it was enough of a variety. I had French toast, as I don't eat eggs and they were pretty tasty, but felt that the prices were a bit higher than expected, especially for 4 of us. Their breakfast variety is excellent including pancakes, omelets and breakfast sandwiches. The house potatoes are the best in the area and are flavored with peppers and onions. We order Mama's Omelet and the Greek Omelets most often, house potatoes and Turkey bacon, toast or a muffin. Excellent & More than filling for the price! Try the Turkey club for lunch! We went here for brunch & were pleasantly surprised. My husband enjoyed an eggs Benedict & I had the breakfast burrito. Both were very good. The staff were friendly & helpful. We had to wait for quite a while before the server made her way to our table. I would estimate at least 10 mins, but they were very busy... The only thing I didn't care for were my hashbrowns ..... they had very little seasoning for my taste. I would have preferred a little onion or something. This place has everyone fooled. I am a former employee and was fired in the midst of this Corvid 19 pandemic for being sick and missing 2 days of scheduled work. They failed their last health dept inspection for improper hot food temperatures, food containers on the floor in the kitchen and the walk in cooler. Yet changed nothing after the inspection saying they wont be back for 60 days. The food is over priced for what you get, if not cooked days before its served. The management is the worst of any restaurant i have ever worked for. Yes i am disgruntled, but the truth is the truth. You get fresher and better food at waffle house. read more

We came mid morning on a lazy Saturday and the entire breakfast and lunch menu was available, and is always available 7 AM to 3 PM daily. Breakfast options include a medley of large omelettes, 5 different Benedict's, and many egg option dishes. They also have a variety of waffle and pancake dishes, plus more. Breakfast come with potatoes, hash browns, or grits. Lunch menu includes salads, wraps, sandwiches, soups (including French onion), and other dishes. Lunch menu includes chips, Cole slaw, and french fries are available. They've come up with so many combinations and options there are 2 large pages on the breakfast menu and 2 pages on the lunch menu. No matter what your crew is in the mood for, they have it. The only tiny drawback I found is the coffee is a bit weak. Not enough to detract from this 5-Star restaurant on Cattleman off the highway. read more

Have now eaten here twice. No ambiance. Service professional, prompt and friendly. Now to the food: yesterday I had the daily special, a seafood quiche. Now I haven't ordered a quiche in fifty years or more, but the sound of lobster, shrimp and other goodies intrigued me. When it arrived I was very impressed: it must have been almost three inches tall, had a golden glow to it, and when I cut into it I could see it was very dense. And then I put the first bite into my mouth which immediately exploded into complex seafood flavors...with real lobster I might add. I have to admit the accompanying hash browns, while cooked perfectly, were rather pedestrian. But who cares, this quiche was truely over the top. The most generous portion could easily have been served for dinner. I don't remember what I ordered the last time, but I do remember it being notable...now I wish I had written about it too. Coffee is tricky to get right, because of the corrupting influence of *bucks, meaning those of us who actually like the taste of coffee might be in a minority. That poses a dilemma for the early-opening restaurant: how strong should we make it? Competence sounds like a middle path, but takes effort. Consistency of the plates and service necessarily means really high quality isn't likely achievable, but then who wants high-falutin' eggs? I include cleanliness in this category. Companionability is friendliness without extravagance, warmth without faux. Even the table spacing works towards the ideal. Happily, E-T meets a high standard in all three, with room to spare. read more

My wife ordered a turkey sandwich on white bread. NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: When the bread feels like it's toasted when it's not toasted, IT'S STALE! Not only was the bread horribly stale, there was literally one slice of processed turkey on the sandwich. My wife took one bite and then complained about the staleness. Nothing was done to compensate for it and it was not removed from the check. I ordered the sausage, egg and cheese croissant. Not sure what was wrong with it but it tasted very odd. So much in fact, I couldn't eat more than two bites. I think perhaps the sausage was bad as it was two days after Hurricane Irma. The manager took it off my check. I also ordered a side of cheese grits. It was just okay. Grits in a bowl with one slice of processed cheese on top and then microwaved to melt it. We also sat near the entrance/register and had to listen to one of the servers bitching to the owner about another server. He was cursing and yelling about the other server. It was a little more than uncomfortable to listen to. Glad they took down the "Grand Opening" sign that was hanging outside for over a year. This place is extremely nice and clean! I think to work here you have to have an amazing accent, I got the special which was country fried steak and eggs and it was one of the best I've ever had. I didn't even need a knife to cut it. The eggs were done to perfection and the fresh squeezed orange juice put it over the top! DELICIOUS!! I will definitely come back! read more

We are here for breakfast on a Saturday morning before heading down to Miami for a cruise. It was the perfect way to start our trip. The place is very cute with nautical items around. The food was fresh and amazing. The portions were more than enough. I had the tropical pancakes that had pineapple, coconut and macadamia nuts. The portion was huge at 3 pancakes the size of the plate. My only "complaint" would be to have different size orders of pancakes. Like 1,2 or 3 option. There would be no way for me to eat all of them haha but even still it's not a true complaint. Too much food at a place is always a good thing. Just wish I could've taken it home for leftovers but since we were leaving on vacation we couldn't. Also the biscuits were yummy. They split them and griddle them. Super yummy! read more

I'm definitely of the darker hue and the manager or owner advised us that they could not accommodate us because that wouldn't be good for her restaurant for us to patiently wait for enough tables to accommodate us. Eggsceptional breakfast this afternoon. We walked in at 1:45 pm, no hostile looks. Even though they close at three so I knew we were good; but you never know. I had a traditional breakfast but all aspects, eggs, toast and bacon were cooked to perfection. We will be back with kids when they visit. I was surprised at the freshness of home fries and iced tea with lemon.
