So I Yelped places and found Eggxactly just down the street. I was a little concerned when Google Maps took us into a residential area, but no worries: Eggxactly Breakfast and Deli is located in a former house that has been wonderfully remodeled into a quaint, cute breakfast joint! Go early as there is not a lot of sitting room inside. Having said that, the service was great and the food was AMAZING!! I ordered the Smoked Turkey Omlett Special and found it extraordinary! I am so glad I found this hidden gem in Whitehaven! They serve southern style home cooked breakfast made to order. The food is hot, fresh, and flavorful! I was excited to try new menu items. We were seated pretty quickly. You have to place your order at the counter and then they will bring your food to the table. Of course, I started with the eggs. Can't go to a place called Eggxactly without having eggs, right? I see why they have that name. I must say that the eggs were super delicious. It was a part of the Breakfast Platter. It came along with 2 strips of bacon, smoked sausage, 1 pork or turkey sausage links. They were all good. I also added grits. My food was a hit. The only thing that I would say need a little work are they banana froster pancakes. They were a little on the dry side and the sauce that comes with it is pretty runny. The toppings were not cohesive as well if that makes sense. It seems like it was thrown together versus being one cohesive dish. The price point is decent. You get bang for your buck. This place only has eight tables, and when I sat down there were 17 people packed in--so clearly, it's the breakfast spot. I ordered the smoked turkey omelette, and wow... it was worth the wait. Fluffy eggs, savory turkey, and packed with flavor. Just one warning: I did get a little surprise in mine--a decent size fragment turkey bone. Nothing serious, but let's just say chew like you're protecting your dental plan. The outside looks plain, and the inside won't blow you away either, but trust me--the food does all the talking. So, I found this location nearby where we were staying. I looked at the reviews, and they fit the bill. We ordered shrimp and fish with grits, an omelet meal, and chicken and waffles. Everyone in our group was exceedingly satisfied with their selections. I wish I wasn't the designated driver going back to Louisiana, or else I would have tried some of the alcoholic beverages. They have a nice list of beverages for adults. If you're looking to get a cup of mimosa or a pitcher, this is a great place to go. I would have loved to come here for dinner if I had known about this location before the day we were leaving town. However, if I'm in Memphis again, I'll be sure to check this place out for dinner or something. I hope they're open for dinner; I'm not sure. I visited this brunch spot last week for my niece's celebration. The restaurant is in an old house so the spacing inside is limited, but they make up for it in customer service. I got it with Texas toast and hash browns and let me tell you the flavors in this are insane. The smokiness of the turkey with the vegetables and the seasoning they put on the eggs all comes together for a rich and enjoyable bite. The hash browns also were seasoned and cooked to perfection. I had the Chicken and Waffles (topped with fresh fruit and powdered sugar) and my husband had Fried Catfish with French Toast. All of their fried meals come with their special house made sauce. My two daughters and myself visited the establishment yesterday for brunch. The food for my 1 daughter came out over 15 minutes prior to mine and my other daughters. Alright! Next up for Memphis Black Restaurant Week was Eggxactly! Mom and I arrived around 30minutes after they opened and they were already jumping! They don't have a whole lot of seating, so we were told it would be a 15-20min wait and that they'd call us when they were ready. We probably waited like 2mins max lol. Once inside and seated, we were given menus to look over and told to place our order at the register when ready. Be prepared to pay before you eat. Mom went with the three pancakes, eggs and bacon. She added a side of hash browns. I went with "Eggxactly's Beale Street" which is French toast, eggs and your choice of meat. I went with chicken, which was an extra charge. We didn't wait very long for our food to come out and we dug right in. Overall, the food was pretty good. Nothing was over the top spectacular, however we both left full and happy.
