If you're looking for upscale bar food this is definitely your place. I went with a big group for a celebration and it was the perfect environment for us to be loud and obnoxious without anyone noticing because everyone else is doing the same thing (in a good way). The Oaxaca nachos were perfect for sharing and had pulled chicken, cheese and pineapple on top (just a few standout ingredients). I had the fried snapper sandwich with perfectly cooked bacon and avocado on top all pressed between an amazing buttery brioche roll. A friend and I met here on a Wednesday night, so glad to have found this cute place! Ample parking in the back, lots of tables inside and some outside in the back also. We had a smattering of a lot of dishes cause they all sounded amazing and they were! FOOD: The standout was the Philly cheesesteak eggrolls the reinvention was great, came out hot and covered in sauce. Lobster mac and cheese creamy, not too salty and def enough lobster to make it decadent, the wonton crisps were perfect on top. And the cheesecake roll dessert was the perfect ending. We also had the chicken nachos, and the honey sriracha (i think) cauliflower, both were good. This place did no wrong in our book and they didn't even bat at eye even though we took up a table for 4 hours, (probably didn't hurt much though as it was a weekday night). Interesting gastropub in Oceanside, with a very cool and indulgent menu. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner; not the bar part, but the sit down and eat food part. We sat outside which was wonderful, the weather was beautiful at the time. They have huge flat screen TVs everywhere, so you can tell it's a very casual place lol. We started off with a lobster mac n' cheese, as an appetizer - one of the best things we ordered. It was creamy, there wasn't enough lobster, but it was so damn good. You can't go wrong there. I ordered a pulled chicken poutine sandwich with sweet potato fries, and boy was that hard to eat. My major complaint there is that the gravy wasn't great... it wasn't solid gravy which kinda ruins poutine then. It was somewhat light (watery?) and perhaps not salty enough, it just didn't taste like authentic gravy. The sweet potato fries WERE AMAZING. So amazing! It was my favorite thing I ordered there, with the mac n' cheese in second. It was crispy, thick, and delicious; the serving sauces were fantastic. There were very interesting options, like a garlic aioli, sriracha mayo, and a honey/sweet tasting aioli (forgot the name) and of course, ketchup. The sweet potato fries are a must get. My boyfriend ordered a cheese fondue burger, with the patty filled with cheese. It was very decadent and messy to eat, he did enjoy it though. It was almost too creamy and needed the sauces to balance it. He got poutine on the side and we were too stuffed to eat it, the poutine again, didn't have good gravy. Also lacked authentic cheese curds and only had mozzarella, which could have been acceptable if the gravy was good. We were too stuffed to order dessert, the portions were big. Our server was very friendly too, she was great at accommodating us. If I could give this place a 3.5 I would, but I'll round it to a 4 cause yelp, the dishes were hit or miss. The mac n cheese, and sweet potato fries with the sauces were fantastic, but the poutine and the poutine sandwich were a solid okay. Definitely go there and give it a try. read more

Really tasty place with cool decor and fun menu options. I have been here on the weekend and a quiet Monday and both times I really enjoyed it! The service is great and they use IPADs which is odd but I guess it's 2018 so that's the thing to do lol but still a really great place to eat. The food is straight American comfort so expect dishes with a lot of cheese, meat and just big portions. As for the appetizers though they are a bit smaller which I don't mind! Last time I came here I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich which was great but this time I split some menu options with my friend. We got the Buffalo chicken egg rolls, fries and lobster tacos. I loved everything but keep in mind when ordering the Buffalo chicken egg rolls they do add in a very potent sharp cheese similar to the taste of Gorgonzola which I love aged cheeses but many people may not! EGP is the place to go if you want craft beer (they have over 24 to offer!), delicious food, a fun atmosphere, and a cool outdoor space. We wound up here after bookmarking it months ago. Unfortunately the patio area was reserved for a private party, however, the inside had plenty of seating available. We took a hightop near the bar, which ended up being a solid choice. The bar has plenty of seating, every TV was showing the Red Sox/Yankee game (go Yanks!), and there was a live band singing 90s alternative hits. The dinner special included the sandwich special which was a lobster roll with fries and cole slaw. We both decided to go with that since it sounded delicious. Their beer selection is great whether you want a local beer (I had a Blue Point) or really any other sort of craft beer you desire (the beer menu is broken up by type). We split an order of mussels for an app and they were great! The broth was yummy and very hot, and the bread it was served with was a nice touch. The lobster roll was massive and both of us were unable to finish. Full of lobster, rather than some places where lobster is only in the name. The fries were good but I was doing my best to eat as much of the roll as I could so I mostly ignored those. Our waiter was super nice and efficient. Within a half hour we had our drinks, our app, and our entree order placed and almost ready to be served. Note: you can only tip in cash (it says so on the clipboard with your bill at the end of the meal). Go to the bar and the bartenders will make change for this. The rest can be paid with plastic, though. Clean bathrooms (including a separate one in the bar area). Friendly staff (park in the back, that's where the hostess is unless you're only there for the bar). Great area to kick back and relax. read more

On top of that they charge you extra if you want them to chop it for you....WTFFFF???? This is the main reason why I won't give them 5 stars. How insane is it to pay $20+ for a salad and it's not even chopped???? I was so excited to check out EGP after checking out their menu online. I wouldn't even know how to explain the type of food they serve here. We were a group of 6 on a Monday night and we all have different food interests. My uncle got the burger sandwiched in between two grilled cheese sandwiches (whaaaat?!) and my partner and I ordered the lobster tacos, pretzel Mac and cheese and the salmon and crab burger with sweet potato fries to split. Overall service was great. We sat outside and it was very comfortable. The lobster tacos are on the apps menu- definitely small inside but good for sharing if you're only looking for a bite or two. Served in what looked like a wonton, It had a lot of sauce in it (some sweet, almost honey like sauce) that made it really messy to eat. The pretzel Mac and cheese was phenomenal. Super cheesy but the pretzel bits and bun really complemented the flavor. Glad we shared this with the table too- the serving is huge! Finally, the crab & salmon burger was awesome. Covered in Guac and served on a brioche bun- wowowow. Comes with a side of coleslaw and some spicy pickles. Sweet potato fries were good too, paired with EGP's sauce selection of garlic aioli or their maple aioli (nice and sweet). We were celebrating birthdays so we got a brownie sundae and a cookie sundae to share. The brownie was warm and soft and delicious with the ice cream and whipped cream. The E-MAC so so incredibly big I had to take home half. I will come back on my moon time where I can actually eat the whole thing in one sitting. The Gastroburger was so good and big too. Kevin also had two of the the Two Roads Two Juicy IPA and it's good. Very very hoppy Definitely going back to try the rest of the menu. The chips and dip, picture what you will then, toss that picture. This is unlike anywhere else. The chips are a flavored potato chip. The dips come in tiny glass jars. They include a flavored hummus, guacamole, salsa and a sun dried tomato flavor (that could be ther hummus) all so good you won't be able to decide what you liked best. Get this too. My dinner was a salad with an added veggie burger. It was fantastic for a veggie burger. I didn't love the salad but it was good. It had a nice presentation but i would have preferred it on a plate and not in a bowl because the burger was hot on the cold salad and I don't like that. I should have asked for it on the side. The salad is fresh and they grow some of their own produce I believe. Lots of good drinks to choose from and great beers including local beers. My hubby had an Oceanside beer. Who knew?! Service was okay, but not outstanding. Our water glasses were not refilled once. The place was empty except for a few tables, but the staff was not very attentive. The table itself was uncomfortable because of the chairs, metal curved seats that I just find odd. I had been here before and remembered that after we were seated. They have a few bench seats but we could not do that with our group of 4 comfortably. All in all the food makes up for the service and seats shortfall. The Jameson Baileys Irish Cream is an absolute must. Even a virgin coffee is good. If you're not in the mood for flights- this is a huge save. The menu is a simple read. 6 different things will catch your eyes easily. We made the executive decision to share Lobster Mac & Cheese as an appetizer. (I will say I've had better. I feel like Brixx in LB has a solid Lobster Mac that needs be mentioned here.) It was super creamy but lacked lobster chunks. The best part was the egg roll crunches on top. Yummm-- perfect texture play. I had a chicken sandwich with poutine fries ($5 up charge-- depressed but I had to have it right? Right.)
