First sip coffee was pretty sour was unable to continue to drink I asked the barista if I could get a new drink his response "well you need to buy a new drink since you tried it" unbelievable response! Eightfold as I've been told has coffee that's delicious and bold. If it wasn't it would be the barista I would scold for the standards they need to uphold. After my first sip the story starts to unfold about the positive outcome that were told. I hit up their Orange Espresso tonic and after I was done I felt so bionic or maybe Supersonic, LoL. So on with this story to tell. So my second drink was the specialty Strawberry Kiss and if you love strawberries then this is not to be missed and especially if it has strawberry bits along with chocolate and espresso. While we were waiting for our drinks I also tried their Cortado and it was pretty good. Limited seating inside but they do have a spacious outdoor area and if you're like me then alfresco is where you want to be. Stopped here on the way to lunch. This place has an industrial kind of vibe with the concrete floors and white walls. We ordered an iced hazelnut latte, half sweet with whole milk and a hojicha latte, hot. Took about 15 minutes for our drinks. My latte was pretty bland, did not have a super hazelnutty flavor, probably since it was half sweet. The coffee flavor was not super strong either. The hojicha latte had the opposite problem where it was a little too sweet (also maybe our bad for not asking for less sugar). Service was average, not bad but not overly friendly. This is such a cute coffee spot within the Arts District! I appreciated how many matcha options this place had (albeit the price jump scared me a bit). I walked in and was immediately greeted by the barista, with a few people working on their laptops. My drink, the matcha sweetie, was made pretty fast and I got to drink a bit indoors. It was a perfect way to give me a mid-day pick me up. There's a lot of coffee shops in the Arts District but if you're ever in this area I would definitely recommend this spot. I was told recently that they stopped serving the avocado toast (the one in the pic) and I was actually heartbroken because this is the ONLYYYY place I ever got avocado toast from because it was THAT good :( i was also told that they have it at there other location but it is so sad because this place is closer to me. Anyway, I used to always love getting their hot matcha with no sweetener but unfortunately my heart can't handle the caffeine anymore but the matcha lattes here are really good!! Perfect balance of matcha to milk ratio. Now I go for their Golden Milk which is delicious!! Inside is always kept clean, baristas are always nice, and they have music playing but at the perfect volume as well. Overall a great coffee shop! read more

Cute little spot in Arts District. Very bare bones warehouse feel, but still welcoming enough to stay for a bit. They have room inside to seat about 10 people. It's quiet and even with the "no animals except service animals" sign, appeared to be dog-friendly, with a cute pup playing with my kid while we waited for our order. There are also some tables outside in the courtyard area by the entrance. It's not somewhere I'd recommend if you're in a hurry - nobody there is in a rush (but kind of in a refreshing way) - but if you have a few minutes to spare, it's worth the wait for decent quality espresso. The menu is small but sufficient, and I quite like the simplicity if it. My takeaway is that they don't do too much, but what they do (drink-wise), they aim to do well. I got an iced americano and a cinnamon roll and found the espresso to be better than average. The pastry was just OK. Parking is tough - street parking only - as is expected, but not impossible. Staff was very friendly and it seemed like everyone got on, contributing to the intimate vibe. All in all, I'd say I'd stop in again if I happened to be in the area, but wouldn't seek this place out if it weren't just the most geographically convenient option. read more

I knew the moment it was made it won't be good by the color of it and I saw on their menu they charge extra for more matcha. Sounds like a scam, just make it right the first time instead of making your customers pay more to get a decent matcha drink. Walked my dog for 30 min trying to finish my drink and had to throw it halfway bc it was not good and I was struggling to finish it, what a waste of money. Wow, the flavors are so good! I had a hojucha latte and it took me back to Japan. It was so we'll balanced. I also tried it with chocolate and that was mind-blowingly amazing. Overall delicious drinks that are made to order. Very sweet, polite, and fast service. The seating was very nice with the big giant windows and tall ceilings. It's made with espresso, your choice of milk and a few ounces or condensed milk -- I was worried it was going to be too sweet but it was perfect as-is. It's a really small place in the Matteo building in the arts district of downtown LA. They sell pastries from the bread lounge and they sell candles and other random items. I went for the matcha and it was pretty good. The strawberry iced matcha was better than their hot matcha latte. The prices are a little higher than the other places I've been to in the area. I want to start off by saying this place has been my girlfriend and I's favorite coffee shop for a long time! As the years went on though, the service started changing, they got rid of the avocado toast (which I understand from a business perspective) and it doesn't feel as welcoming anymore. The last 2 times I've gone I had really bad customer service. One of the girls is rude and looks forced to say hi to customers but when her friends come in she talks with them for a long time. They forgot about my bagels and I was waiting for 15 min giving them the benefit of the doubt that they were busy but then when all the customers after me left I was annoyed because they clearly forgot my order. A little hidden gem! Super nice people and fast service! It is a hidden gem because it is hard to find and the outside signs aren't too noticeable. But if you find this place and make it, you'll be pleased! The atmosphere is calm and inviting. I got the Spanish Latte with oat milk and with a lemon poppy muffin. I forgot to ask where the muffins are made, but it was quite good! I came on a Saturday at afternoon and it was comfortably not busy. But there seemed to be a constant flow of people walking in :) I got my order to go, but there are decent sitting and standing options inside and out. I love the "hidden" aspect of this place in an area filled with other very busy coffee places literally around the block! Tables are small but outlets + wifi are available which is great for working. I had the hojicha latte with oat milk which was a great unique alternative since I don't drink coffee anymore. The hojicha latte was mild, nutty, earthy and not too sweet. I believe you can add a syrup if you like your tea lattes on the sweeter side. Employees were attentive and helpful when making suggestions. Parking: Street parking or there's a public parking garage nearby but the coffee shop doesnt validate parking. Love this place and it's such a great spot in the At Mateo complex! I've come here several times for coffee and food and I haven't been disappointed yet. The lattes are amazing - especially with the vanilla, lavender, and Spanish flavor. I also really liked the Hojicha Latte. Eightfold is a local coffee establishment with one location in Echo Park and another here in Arts District. This review is for the Arts District location. The staff here are always friendly. They have a good selection of various drinks and snacks, ranging from teas to lattes. I don't think they make the best coffee compared to some other coffee shops in the neighborhood, but their lattes are satisfactory. Today I tried their seasonal specialty peppermint mocha latte with oat milk. It had just the right amount of minty-ness with flavor of mocha. My favorite pastry to get here is the ham and cheese croissant. Overall, Eightfold is a good option to try if you're in the neighborhood. Street parking in this area can be challenging but there's a paid parking structure at Mateo building. read more

Really good coffee with average amt of seating. Seating to outlet ratio on the inside is pretty good but seating just isn't that numbered. Aside from coffee, they also sell soy candles, prints (I think) from local makers, and eightfold apparel with 10% going to a dog shelter. You can also purchase coffee making things here like an Aeropress, and of course they sell pre roasted whole beans. Pleasantly surprised at how good the drinks were. Baristas worked fast so we got orders in just a couple mins. I ordered the iced Americano black & the beans tasted ground fresh. Really good Americano and depending on if you take it with creamer or sugar it's also suitable for your taste. Iced mocha was also one of the best mochas I've had. Instead of chocolate I really tasted cocoa powder above anything else. I much prefer this to chocolate flavored syrup that usually comes with mochas. Very pleasant! Some of the most worthwhile drinks I've had in LA. Hours are a little wonky for working (7:30 AM to- 3 PM), but perfect for early risers. The presentation is very nice. They present the pastry on a very nice plate. I like the glass cup they used for the latte. The portion to price is fair. They do not overload the drink with ice. The pastry is also quite large. The price is average for your typical coffee shop. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They were also very quick in preparing my order. The ambiance is very nice. It gives a very minimalistic vibe. The lighting is really nice. The ambiance is very modern. The place was very clean. The parking is a little difficult. There is street parking, but the time I was there it was all taken. They have a parking garage, but it is very pricey. I studied there and stayed around two hours.
