The storefront itself is pretty small though. I ordered the Yuzu Matcha tonic with less sweetness and it was really good! It's a super refreshing drink, with the green tea and citrus elements coming out on top of the sparkling sweetness. Honestly, one of the best matcha drinks I've had overall! The yuzu bits are incorporated in the drink, adding a light sweet and bitter taste. Service was super friendly and accommodating. Reasonable prices and this café stands out because of its free parking for sure. There are lots of cute shops lining the street that Picnic Coffee is located on, so check those out too! Stopped by for a coffee break, and while the vibe is charming, the space is tiny, there's barely any room to sit inside, so be prepared to take it outside (they do have a few chairs out front, which helps). My husband tried the double matcha and actually loved it, and he's not even a big matcha fan, so that says a lot! I went with the pistachio matcha latte, but unfortunately, even after stirring it well, I couldn't taste any pistachio at all. Wanted to try Picnic because I've seen some videos online raving about it. First, there's plenty of free parking around the area which is always a plus. The inside is very small, you order in the back of the store and pick up your drink at the front. I got a strawberry matcha and it was all strawberry no matcha. I think the batch of matcha they used this day was a bit older due to the color being darker and not as vibrant. The pistachio matcha was also overpowered by the pistachio flavor. There is a parking lot on the left of picnic coffee, and i always find a spot for my car there. The staff is always friendly, and it is always clean and has good vibe with good music. As the name depicts, there are picnic chairs outside and some good shady spots to escape the sun. I sometimes study with my ipad or read a good book there on the shady picnic chair while sipping the strawberry matcha, and all the time owners with well groomed dogs pass through and i get to watch them for fun. read more

Finally I post a review of a sweet coffee spot on Sunset I've had my sights on for a while- the line was consistently too long till today-! Picnic is 'holding its own' in an area of town long known for boutique and specialty coffee spots. I had the sense I was in Brooklyn, the square footage of the location is maximized by playful but not overwhelming interior design. The espresso is a rich roast, the matcha is perfect, the design and interior is primed and waiting for the socials-pix-closeups. So many flavors of specialty espresso drinks are offered-! I am tempted to return and try allllll the drinks, some of which are seasonal, so beware that your affections don't hold too tightly to a seasonal selection-! The music was a very current playlist of self-produced music artists- I recommend Shazam-ing some of these new tunes. The barista was expert level (Barista Champion, in my book), with perfectly crafted shots and specialty drinks. Perfect foam. Charming latte art. The pastry case = jewel case of earthly delights. I really appreciate that they have a vegan option and a vegan cream top because I am lactose intolerant.
