The place is definitely dated so don't expect to go there for the ambiance. Lots of parking. They charge $2 to use your credit card so bring cash. I have been using this nail salon a while and was happy with Tina who does my mani and pedi. Today, I had the most fucked up incident with the jerk who sits at the desk. I took out a pink polish and 3 glitters to go over my nails. I painted 3 nails and was about to use the glitters to see which I liked. The owner came harrasing me about using too much nail polish and his partner joined and asked me to stop my objection to his request because the other people were trying to relax. Goodluck using this place. They are unpredictable and have no manners in treating their customers with respect. I would much rather spend my $65 elsewhere. Sorry Tina, I liked you! read more

First of all I only chose this place because my dentist was upstairs and I wanted to get my nails filled. The gentleman that did my nails was very nice and nails looked great. I even tipped him $20. Within a week and a half four of my nails fell off, OK I knew I was headed back to do some more work with my Dentist the following week so I drop by...the gentleman at the desk was not helpful at all at this point I didn't even want them to fix my nails. I just wanted them to cut them off and be done. He told me he had no one and couldn't help me,even after I explain to him that all that my nails had fell off within a week and a half He said he had others customers as If I wasn't one. Unbelievable terrible service!!! Needless to say I will never return. Beware! read more

They always offer to come early or stay late for me, but I'd feel too terrible to make em do that! They are already open late! - Quality of work is SUPERB! My stiletto length and shape are always perfect. Never too thick. Ive gone other places and they always say they can't do that length cuz it'll break. I don't have that problem here. And the designs are FIRRREEE! Plenty of decals, gems, flowers, whatever your heart desires. I show the design I want to other salons and they just flat out say not possible. -Oodles of options for gel colors too! - Clean and well kept! After going to several nail salons, I think I've found the one. The nail technicians at 89 Nail Salon really know what they're doing and I always leave with my nails looking amazing! Ken and Vanessa do a great job with my acrylics and take their time to create the design I want. I honestly love coming here. I always feel welcome and the service is great. Finding parking isn't a hassle either. If you have an intricate design or even want to do something simple, I would suggest coming here because you'll walk out with your expectations met. Vanessa has changed my life!! I have all my appointments booked with her for weeks in advance just to make sure I have my spot secured. She took my short stubby fingernails and made them into deep strong nail beds. I kid you not, I get compliments on my nails every other day. I usually take my mom to get a regular manicure done. Except 2 Saturdays ago, I was getting ready to go out and celebrate my bday. So I left my dtr. w/ my mom there. I paid $35, except her nails were not cut which is the main reason why she usually goes in to get done. She's diabetic so I rather get her nils cut by a professional. So the followi g week I got really sick and it was raining. So I would not get my Mama sick I tried not to have too much contact w/ her. So I didn't notice her nails were not cut at all until this past Sun. Salon doesn't open on Mons. So I called Tues. To present the issue. I was asked to go in on Tue when I called in order not tb charged. That day was raining hard. I said I'm still sick and she would be drenched by the time I got her in the car. I said I didn't want to get pneumonia either. So the man on the phone said I could get a fee reduction next time I brought her in. He said we'll do something. We'll figure it out. I took her in today, Wed. When I mentioned about the discount the man I spoke to ​went back on his word. I felt robbed, cheated. My mom has dementia so she would not have been able to say how she liked her nails done. This is the 2nd time I've been unsatisfied with the service. Instead of working out with me they get all upset and come up with all kinds of excuses. For the same reason I donot get my nails done there. I've heard other people bring up their unsatisfactory w/ the services. Pretty much everyone that handles the register lacks a decent customer service etiquete. WONDERFUL SALON. Expensive but always happy when i leave. My gel pedicure lasts 6 weeks!! Never chips ever! Only go get them done again because my toes are too long it's uncomfortable. I tried to reschedule an appointment and was told I would have to pay a deposit. I wasn't able to come in due to work rescheduling. I should have simply been able to make another appointment without a deposit. I am very disappointed that businesses don't think about customers first, only money. First I should start by saying that there are tons of colors, they did a great job on my nails and the location it is fairly clean so I gave two stars instead of 1. What I am so disappointed about is the fact that I was charged $30 for a FILL! Tom who did my nails did not speak to me just grunted when I tried to make small talk, he continued to huff and puff when I asked him to refile a few nails that were off then charged $15 for gel, $15 for "design" aka French and $30 for a normal acrylic fill. When I heard my total $85 (including pedicure - not gel) I was shocked. I asked how they got to that price the man in the front said something to Tom and he said $30 again "because he said so". Make sure to clarify your pricing before walking into this salon. I sadly will not be back, there are too many options in the area to get ripped off here! Shady! read more

I can't comment on the nails but I can comment on the fact that they don't honor or acknowledge booked appointments. I made an appointment for 9:30, told the owner I need to be done by 10:45 to pick up my son from school. He assured me to come in at 9:45 and I would be done by 10:45. I showed up on time. The receptionist told me that my appointment wasn't booked until 10 am and that the manicurists are in traffic and he doesn't know when they would show up. So unprofessional. In the meantime, I saw 3 nail lady's already doing other people's nails, so they obviously took walk ins and ignored the fact I had an appointment. read more

The one thing I cannot stand when getting my nails is when the workers cooking and eating their hot lunch in my face. I was getting a manicure and pedicure and just so disgusted with the smell of chicken (or whatever is was) cooking in the corner and the workings eating it while my nail polish was being put on. So gross- I get it, they are on break but go somewhere else to cook- not in the patio with the doors wide open. The manicure and pedicure was great but I just don't want to smell chicken cooking on a hot plate while I am getting my nails done. read more

To be honest. I wasn't thrilled or quite satisfied with how my nails turned out. I wanted to go for an ombré look with the dipping powder set. I had mines done at Europe nails in Glendale, and the nail technician over there took her time to apply it on each nail. She would light tap on the brush to give it a suttle ombré look and it blends more nice too. Hence an ombré. Over here, I was stunned by how the nail techs did mines at Eighty Nine Nail Salon. They rushed it and just dipped my nails and made it look more French.. Don't get me wrong, my nail tech (Jenny?) took her time to shape, buff and file my nails to be perfect all throughout.. I think she over did it and my skin was becoming sensitive which I had a few cuts here and there. It was a painful experience. I don't think Jenny is an expertise in this type of style because another lady came up to show her how it's done. I paid 55+ at the other place and they take more time or at least know how to make it look professional. Here I paid $65 with OK with cuts on my skin..
