Hmmm, large $250 order of sugar cookies frosted and decorated with wording was not appealing, the requested sage color icing could have been changed with a simple phone call to me, if the employee cared about pleasing customers, color was really a baby poop green. Some of the best cookies in town and they definitely are colossal!!! They offer a huge variety of flavors. Ones that are more standard and ones that come with icing on top. I tried the oatmeal raisin, lemon, molasses, and mint chocolate. The mint chocolate was the only one I tried with icing. I enjoyed every single one of them. The cookies are soft, moist and delicious. Oatmeal raisin is my favorite so I'm glad it didn't disappoint. The lemon was also a nice surprise. A very pleasant lemony flavor. The molasses was also quite tasty. Tastes like molasses and has the texture of a sugar cookie. It's a seasonal one so get it while you can. The mint chocolate one is good if you like icing on your cookie but for me it's a little too rich so I probably won't get anymore cookies with icing. You can buy cookies a la carte or by the dozen and they also sell day old cookies if you want to save a few bucks. I'm sure they still taste fine a day later. In the world of cookie connoisseurs, there are those that like chewy cookies vs. crunchy cookies vs. partially undone cookies vs. cakey cookies, etc. Not all cookies are made equal! Here's what I have to say about Eileen's Colossal Cookies: Are they my favorite? No. But it's more likely because of my preferences than the actual place. Their cookies are more cake-like, and I like mine more chewy/dense/uncooked. I was also disappointed that my chocolate chip cookie had minimal chocolate chips. I took several bites of the cookie that didn't have a single chocolate chip, and I'm someone that prefers my chocolate chip cookies to be loaded with chocolate chunks (think Starbucks chocolate chip cookies). The other important thing to note is that their sugar cookies have an OVERWHELMING taste of almond extract. Like, phew! Either someone's hand slipped or grandma loved almond extract and wrote the recipe that way. Either way, I really disliked that. I much prefer a soft vanilla flavor to my sugar cookies. The molasses cookies, on the other hand, were fabulous! They were moist and chewy with a great, deep molasses flavor. Pros: --parking is easy --staff is WONDERFUL --prices are fair --place looks clean Cons: --may lack variety depending on what you're looking for; I was looking for a red velvet cookie or a double chocolate chip cookie (chocolate cookie with chocolate chips), but they didn't have those Would I go back? Came here on a Wednesday mid morning. There was a big staff working and we had quick service. There were iced cookies with decor, or larger cookies without icing. They had the party packs of chiefs cookies set up as well. We ordered two iced cookies and they wrapped them up individually. I'd say these are reasonably priced, and good in comparison to competitors. There's a slight almond flavor. They are delicious! I came in on a Tuesday 7/28/20 and ordered a Big cookie chocolate peanut butter and wanted a beer mug and happy birthday with a name. I paid for it and even bought a lemon cookie. I came in at 4 PM pickup because the birthday party started a 5. The ladies working 7/29/20 couldn't find my order and couldn't find the ticket. After looking everywhere they found the ticket under the register. So no one made my birthday cookie. They looked at me like now what. I said I want a refund and got my money back. Duh At the least. So I was out and about heading to Hobby Lobby to craft some stuff for my niece's graduation. As I was leaving I wanted to stop by Dollar Tree and had to make a detour because I saw the sign for Eileen's. I love all things dessert and also love finding spots I've never been to in KC so I HAD to stop by and so glad I did! The place is so inviting and even smells wonderful when you walk in. Not only was I greeted by staff, but customers as well who were asking if I had been there before. They have a range of cookies from specialty designs to just your normal sugar, monster, peanut butter, etc. The prices for the specialty were a little pricey in my opinion for the size but the colossal ones were priced just right for their size at $2. On the counter they had some day old cookies where you could get 5 HUGE ones for $2.50 or a dozen normal sized ones for $3.50. So I went with the 5. They are soft, flavored perfectly, and so tempting to eat in one setting (it took me 2 days) and I chose to go with the lemon flavor. This will be a new favorite for me when I'm up North and want something sweet! read more

When I walk into a place that's preparing any kind of food, I hope to see clean facilities. Eileen's Colossal Cookies looks all shiny and brightly clean and hygienic. I'd be happy to let these folks bake up some cookies for me. I'm actually known in my family as the cookie maker so I don't usually buy store bought but what are ya gonna do when your oven is broken and the part isn't coming in for awhile? Instead of making a batch of cookies for my husband's Father's Day gift, I bought some beautifully decorated ones. I'm not going to tell you Eileen's cookies are as good as mine but they are definitely very very good. There's none of that processed chemical type taste you sometimes get from store-bought but, rather, cookies that taste like they came out of your home oven. Of course, there are different flavors to choose from, as well as all kinds of whimsical and beautiful decorations done with icing. Some of the cookies are huge and some are more normal size. The giant cookies I got for my husband were 3.50, which I think is a pretty reasonable price tag for a huge, very well decorated cookie. My favorite is probably none other than that old favorite chocolate chip, though the lemon one is pretty fantastic, too. The employees are always friendly and the location, right on Barry Road and in the same strip mall as the Dollar Tree, Hobby Lobby, post office, and Starbucks makes this place easy to get to and easy to park at. read more
