Knowing they are usually very busy, I removed the tire and took it to them without calling because the call went to voicemail as I assume they were very busy. Update 2: Eiler (AKA Sun Valley Tire) had my review and others removed from Google. I guess the truth hurts. Update 1: The mechanic my car was taken to after Eiler agreed with my original assessment. Serviced: 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Roadster For the 2nd time, John, Derek and Jake have exceeded my expectations with the customer service, professional assessment of problems and timely repair...all without hassle and with precise communication back to me about what was happening. This was, I thought, a simple LOF and rear brake pad replacement. Come to find out, someone prior to my ownership of the car, installed the wrong rear rotors causing the shoe, pad and holders to slip out of place. This caused friction and smoke upon braking. The reason I know this, is because John explained the situation very clearly and I still got the car in about 24hrs, even with special ordering the new rotors. All of this for a fraction of what the dealer would have charged. I can 100% recommend this shop for your auto service needs, foreign or domestic. Called these guys this morning about a $54.99 Alignment coupon offer in the Ramona home Journal. *Most Cars and light trucks. Trying to support local business. I told them i have an older BMW, 1999 and instantly I heard a chuckle, "Well we can't do that car for that price" In the background I heard another man say "they're a nightmare"! I then told them they didn't sound too confident in their ability to align my car. Of course the price of a "very special " 4 wheel alignment, (ya know cars have 4 wheels guys) is not $89.99. Then they went on about bushings being worn out, etc. You think you're the only guys who can replace a lollipop bushing on a BMW? So here's the deal on my car: 1999 323i BMW E36 The front has no camber or caster adjustment only toe in-toe out. The rear has adjustable camber and also toe in and toe out. Guys, let start at the rear, adjust camber, set toe. Move to front set toe. Sound hard? Good luck with your up sell business guys and you just lost all future business from me, by the way I have 12 cars. read more

I have meant to write this for awhile but want to positively recognize John at Eiler's. He is honest and straightforward. I took my car in (without an appointment) just before leaving on a huge road trip with my daughter and my infant son. I asked if he could take a look under the hood and let me know if we were ok or if anything looked like it was going to give us troubles. He fit us right in and let us know that we would need a brake job in a few months but all was well otherwise. These guys do very shady work & base their work off of scare tacticts! The manager ttried to get my wife to do a full brake job when putting new tires on our car & told her that if she did'nt get them done right away that most likely they would completely fall apart the next time she were to go down the hill...all of this of course was told to me differently when I called them on the phone & instantly they said she just needed new brake pads in the near future. I don't trust anything they say now & was very dissapointed in the way they tried to take advantage of my wife & that they just assumed she would get all of the work done there. I ended up getting Traction Tire to do the brakes & all that needed to be done was new front pads...saved me aboout $900 from what Eiler Tire was quoting. I will never go here again! read more

I had a tire go bad on me (starting to buldge on the inside sidewall) and needed to get it taken care of ASAP as my spare was the wrong size so it wasn't in the truck (long story, but should have taken care of that issue earlier but these things happen). They luckily happened to have a good condition used tire in the right size and tread/load rating to help me out until I could sort out my tires woes (my other tires were very worn but I didn't feel like buying a whole new set of tires right then). It was just before closing on a Friday, and they said it would be done the next morning, so I reluctantly left my truck and arranged for a ride home (I had hoped to get it fixed right then and there). I was walking across the street not 5 minutes later when John called me up and said my truck was done and to come back and pick it up! (I could actually see him across main street lol). Apparently instead of closing up on time, it was actually past closing I think, they stayed a few minutes extra to change the tire on my truck real quick, making my life much easier (no need to get another ride into town the next day to pickup the truck). All for a very reasonable price. Talk about Customer Service! It doesn't get much better than that. I have since made sure I have a proper sized spare, so in theory this won't happen again, but if I do ever have another tire emergency I know where I'm stopping first! Eiler Tire & Brake! I have been taking my 97 jeep Cherokee with over 340,xxx miles on it here for about two years now. I do alot of work on it myself so I can get around under the hood. These guys have always delivered great service and work. They have stayed late to get me in before I had to leave on a road trip and have taken care of small fixes for free when all I came in for was an oil change. They have always shown me the work they are doing and explained why. If I could give zero stars I would. What a scam!!! Horrible experience here. I went in for an alignment, was told it would be $65, I left my car there and was told I'd be called when it was finished. I then received a call from the man who had checked me in and was supposedly going to service my car. He stated my car needed a cams on the rear right that prevented him from performing the alignment and it needed to happen first. He said it would be a few hundred dollars more. I asked him why it was needed and he couldn't really explain. I didn't feel comfortable so I said "no thank you, I'll come pick it up now" I also asked him to write down what was needed on a piece of paper so I could better understand, which he did not. He also stated it would be $40 and when I asked why he became aggressive. He said it was for lifting the car and I said that the service we agreed upon wasn't performed. He then responded rudely and said if you don't feel comfortable paying the $40 you don't have to. When I arrived about two minutes later, he was just pulling my car out and just handed me my keys and I said I just wanted to check with my dad and I might come back. He then responded rudely "have your dad call me if he has any questions". When I talked to my dad we called and the same man answered and my dad asked him if he could explain what was needed and he said "she needs some parts" and my dad asked "can you explain what parts" and he responded "not really" to which my dad replied "how can you say she needs these parts and services if you can't say what they are" all he replied with was "I already did" and then he started laughing condescendingly. My dad said he didn't understand what was funny and then I asked for his name, he said it was "John". He was the only older man working, probably in his 60's. I will make sure that nobody I know takes their vehicle here. It was a scam and I felt that he was trying his best to take advantage because I am a female. These guys are HONEST MECHANICS! Amazing experience. I brought in my 04' F-150, needing my AC fixed, as well as a new set of AT tires. I've been shopping around San Diego and Ramona for quite a while, every place I went told me that the tires would be $1,100 (Firestone quoted me $1,400) at the least, and that the AC needs to be completely replaced which would cost around $1,800. I brought it here, they took a quick look at the AC and told me they could fix it much cheeper and without having to replace the whole system. Also they found some great looking AT Tires for $800! All together I'm paying around $1,500 for everything! Not only that, John shopped around trying to find all the parts for the best price he could so that my total cost would be lower. He also went into the newspaper he had in the lobby to get a coupon which dropped my cost again! The other guys in the shop (sorry guys forgot your names! But one has a sweet mustache and the other has a stellar afro) were very knowledgeable and were cool enough to bring me into the garage and show me the problems that my AC was having, so I got to learn a few things... I dropped off my truck last night before closing and get to pick it up today when I get off work. I'll never take my truck anywhere else. Thanks fellas. read more
