I used to go to Einstein Bro at UCF when I first went to college. I had not been back until recently and they have expanded so much! I ordered a breakfast sandwich that was like biscuits and gravy in a sandwich which was delicious! The coffee was also great and they have wonderful options and milk alternatives which I enjoyed. One of the great breakfast staples for me growing up in New Jersey was a bagel with cream cheese. In fact, a bagel and cream cheese might be the second most common breakfast that I had, second only to a Taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwich (or depending on where you are from in the Garden State, it might be called a pork roll, egg and cheese. Either way, it is delicious). When I moved to Florida back in 2001, I made the rather unpleasant discovery to learn that great bagels really were not a common thing down here in the Sunshine State and for my bagel fix, I would have to rely often on chain restaurants like Einstein Bros. Bagels. And while Einstein Bros. Bagels cannot compete with the great independent bagel shops I grew up and lived in New Jersey, well, to paraphrase Dorothy in the classic 1939 movie :The Wizard of Oz," we ain't in Jersey a anymore. The staff here was okay. Not great, but not terrible. This particular location of Einstein Bros. Bagels has the typical no-frills bagel shop ambiance. There is nothing wrong with that. Bagel shops are not supposed to be fancy or upscale because, let's be honest, there is nothing fancy about a bagel. The bagels and cream cheese overall were fine. Nothing great like New Jersey, but again, to paraphrase Dorothy, "we ain't in Jersey anymore." Overall, I will give here four stars. read more

Can't go wrong with a breakfast sandwich Our sandwiches were made to order , great flavor selection for the bagels if you get there early enough. We all know the popular ones sell out. Luckily we made it to get the apple cinnamon bagel which had nice flavor and the cheesy hashbrown bagel was great too, had a nice crunch to it after being toasted. We ordered 2 turkey sausage , egg and cheese sandwiches on the bagels. The vanilla hazelnut hot coffee is sooo yummy if you enjoy those flavors I recommend for sure. Went at this location for the first time. I was expecting a drive through, but they don't have it at this location. Had to go inside to order. Currently they only have take out. Let me begin this by saying I LOVE Einstein's Bagels. It's one of my favorite breakfast places ever. Their food and their service is typically excellent. Their location of 434 in Altamonte is the exception. In fact, I can't think of a more unprofessional restaurant experience not only as a customer, but also in my 15 years in the restaurant industry. I put in an order for pickup on DoorDash because I was running late to work and I needed it to be ready when I got to the store. When I arrived at the restaurant, I gave them my name. For EVERY other restaurant I've picked up from through DoorDash (there have been MANY), that should be enough info to give the order out. The clerk insisted that she see the order on my phone which was in the car. I was a bit frustrated but I ran out to my car to grab my phone. When I came back in to the store, the manager on duty was screaming at me telling me that I opened their door to aggressively when I walked out of the store. She said she needed my name for a police report. Nothing was damaged. Nothing was wrong. I'm not going to wait around for the cops to just ask me a bunch of questions, shrug their shoulders, and not do anything. Also, I was already late for work and just wanted my order. She then tells me that she will refuse to give me MY order that I PAID for because she wanted me to stay around for the cops. Which, once again, nothing was wrong, she just didn't like my "attitude." I had to reach behind the counter to get the food they accepted my payment for and practically "escape" from this restaurant with them all trying to stop me. They even put their hands on me which, after speaking to my lawyer, I can sue for. Haven't decided whether to pursue that or not. I just wanted coffee and bagels. If you choose to go to this location make sure you don't touch anything in a way that can be perceived as "aggressive" because they'll absolutely try to keep your money without giving you your product. I normally love Einsteins and I go to their restaurants 2-3 times a week. However, after this experience, I'll just stick to Starbucks. read more

I've been to the Altamonte location many times and always had a good experience, but today I didn't have that great of an experience. It wasn't the long line or the staff, it was the fact that I went home with two bagel sandwiches that had no egg in them. I ordered egg on both my sandwiches and even had it on the receipt, but as soon as I opened my sandwich, I only had bacon and cheese on mine and the other sandwich as well. I called the location and they prepared two other sandwiches for me, but I had to make an unplanned drive to their location because they didn't get the order right the first time. I do no live close by, so it would have been nice if they would have offered something else to make up for the fact that I had to drive there. When I got there, they apologized for it and just gave me the two sandwiches properly made (the way it should have been the first time). Einstein Bagel in Altamonte has been a staple of my life since about I was in high school and having not-so-productive study sessions here. Nowadays, I stop in here at least 2 times a week for a morning fix of everything bagels and coffee before I sit unproductively in front of my desk all day. The manager here has been in place for a long time now and it shows in the ability and consistency of the shop between those high school years and now. Einstein's has always had a friendly staff and likes to get to know their customers. When I walk in now, I'm greeted with a "Hey Mike" before I even place my order. Now that I've gotten the bias out of the way, Einstein really is a quaint little place by the northeast corner of the 434/436 intersection in Altamonte. It's always clean and is a great place just to hang out and read the paper or a book if you've got some free time to drink some coffee. Service is spot on, but can slow down at times in the morning when there are a lot of people, which can overload the staff a bit. Other than that, Einstein is a great little spot where you can either sit down for a while or grab a quick bite on the way to work or for lunch. The bagels are big and flavorful, they'll even toast it twice if you want it. Everything bagels are a must have, as long as you're not going to be talking to anyone for a majority of the day. They're good nonetheless. They have in the neighborhood of 20 different types of bagels which can be used in their full menu of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. I'm a bit myopic with what I get here, but the times I have eaten the sandwiches have been very good. Note on the coffee: Get the Vanilla-Hazelnut. Great balance and flavor against their European Roast which is a bit heavy and tends to taste like syrup the longer it stands. read more

The bagel tastes delicious & is not overly doughy. It's crispy, yet still surprisingly light texture is superb & truly unparalleled to any other bagel found anywhere in Florida. My first visit early this morning was not great and not bad, but I do prefer the Casselberry location. The staff here were engaged in a conversation about scheduling while I stood and waited to place my order with no one else in line. The selection and locating itself are smaller, although the location is prime - at the intersection for 434 and 436 in Wekiva Springs. The bagels are never in question at Einstein.
