I love bagel sandwiches and found myself craving one after an out-of-state appointment I had near this location. My mother and I walked in to find there was no indoor seating (which was very inconvenient), but we decided to stick it out and eat in the car because we were excited to try their offerings. The service was friendly, but the bagels were extremely disappointing. I ordered a tasty turkey and my mother got an egg and cheese. The flavor of everything was decent and fresh, but the bagels themselves were stale, hard, and cold. They were so stiff and unappetizing that it made it difficult to physically eat the sandwiches. Even the cheese was hard and cold. It was a surprise that a place that markets itself as a bagel shop would neglect the quality of their signature item. It's especially surprising that the sandwiches would be so cold and hard when the sign literally says hot and fresh. National chain restaurant specializing in bagels and coffee, has a few other things. I received an email from the corporate marketing office that January 15 is National bagel day, offering a free bagel with cream cheese with a purchase. I purchased medium Caribou coffee (I miss the Caribou coffee shops). The bagel probably wasn't the greatest bagel I have ever had, but it filled me up. My only problem today was that I spelled out my name for the cashier and he still typed a different name. I could have been out five minutes sooner, because the guy kept calling for Alex, a gender neutral name (Alexandria, Alexis or Alexander) and there were two women ahead of me and a woman behind me. When the lady behind me got her order ahead of me I looked at my receipt and saw the name "Alex". I have not been to Einstein bagels in a while. Loved their onion bagels, always had more onions than bagel. In from out of town and wanted a good bagel. Big mistake. Equipment was not working so half the menu was not available. It happens. They could not keep up with the rush so there was several waiting on their sandwiches. We finally got our order and of course it was wrong. Not to mention their onion bagels, was just a plain bagel with a speck or two of onions. Such a disappointment. Good day, I ordered a Garden Avocado Egg Sandwich on my mobile app at approx 1:03 pm. When I arrived, I looked in the window and did not see any bags. The time was 2:01 pm so I knocked on the door. A young man of Hispanic descent with curly hair looked at me and ignored me. I kept knocking and a young lady of color came to the door. She tried to help but was unsuccessful. She told me they were out of the everything bagel and they were "waiting" for me to arrive to select an alternative bagel. UNACCEPTABLE! Why wouldn't they call me? I have eaten here maybe five times in my entire life and I live across the street. I received a $2 off coupon so I decided to patronize today. Jasmine the manager then came to the door and asked me to step inside. She also advised the young man to go to the back. She explained the process to get a refund. I have to submit a request online which is ridiculous in my opinion. Let me be clear, I have my Associates degree in Culinary Arts. I have managed and worked in restaurants. I am appalled at how I was spoken to by the male employee. He said I was complaining and that due to the time nothing could be done. THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT! They should have offered me something else instead of allowing me to leave without a sandwich. I will be contacting Einstein Bros Bagels customer service in the morning. And, my hope is that the corporate office investigates this, and offers some consequence to the staff member who lost his composure and yelled at me. Meh.. This place is a hit or miss. I've yet to figure out what time is the best time to go to avoid long lines. My previous job used to order breakfast from here every month which helped me try all the bagels on someone elses' dime hehe. My favorite is always the classic and poppy seed but I love their jalapeno cheddar bagel! All the cream cheeses' are great as well but my go-to is the chorizo sunrise on a jalapeno bagel. My last visit was a mad house in store. Orders were backed up by almost 30 minutes. My order was also made incorrectly. I asked for no avocado on my sandwich and didnt check before I left. I dont like their coffee so after I get my food, I stop by the starbucks across from them to grab my drink. It was only then I realized that my sandwich wasnt what I ordered. Arrived today at 2:10 pm. The doors were open and we walked in. A man by the counter said "we're closed" and turned his back to me to continue his conversation with the other person. I glanced at the sign by the door - yes, it was turned to "closed." Fair enough. I said "Oh, ok, what time do you close?" He ignored me and didn't turn around. I asked again and was ignored again. Apparently I had ceased to exist. My companion was getting anxious so we left. In short, the staff was rude and dismissive, and really didn't have any courtesy or manners. I know it seems like a small thing, but their attitude made us feel like insects under their shoe. Not sure if it was the staff that day, but they were unorganized and everyone seemed confused. I went to the counter to order and the girl taking my order couldn't comprehend. I repeated myself about 5 times. The wait wasn't long, but once my name was called, I checked the bag and my order was wrong. I brought it to the manager's attention and she didn't apologize at all. She said "all we got wrong was there is no salt and pepper on your bagel and there's a missing bagel." She got my other bagel and told me that there were salt and pepper packets by the door. The bagels have always been fresh in my experience. I tried the vanilla hazelnut cold brew and found it to be a bit too sweet for my liking. This was my first time at Einstein Bros and I was happily surprised! I walked in on Saturday morning and it was packed but the line moved quickly. Our service was prompt and I wait approximately 10 minutes for my order of 2 bagel sandwiches. He price is very reasonable! I ordered the ham & Swiss on a plain bagel with one egg. The bagels are fresh and perfectly toasted! The ingredients tasted fresh and paired very well together. There are so many options that I'll definitely be back to try something new. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. For as busy as it is they keep up with the tables being cleaned and the trash being emptied as well as restocking the juices and fresh fruit options. I came here on a Sunday craving a salmon bagel. Waited in line only to find out that they were out of Nova Lox...really? It was not even noon. The line was long too so I had to make a hasty decision and pick something else to order. At least post a sign up if you will no longer be serving an item so that the customers can be informed in advance. The server who took our order did not even seem to care what was or was not on the menu, but I bet if she did the line would have moved faster. I did not get her name, but she had shoulder length dark hair and was working the late morning shift on 1/22. She did not even bother to ask what side I wanted with my sandwich, so consequently my order came without a side. I ended up ordering the mushroom, spinach, and swiss sandwich with an egg. The sandwich was assembled well; however, the mushrooms were not cooked at all. The sandwich was rather not as warm as I would expect it to be. My husband had the chicken salad sandwich and he enjoyed it, but the side of potato salad was bland and lacked seasoning. It also took us a moment to find a CLEAN table. The tables were not being wiped down between customers and some still had trash sitting there. The WiFi sucks. There are too many people connected to it so it's slow. I got he nova lox bagel which was really good. I love salmon so I'm a sucker for it. There were plenty of seats which was nice but I couldn't get the wifi going fast enough so I couldn't get work done. Probably won't be back because of that. The bagel breakfast was 6.99 a bit steep for salmon and cream chesse. They have other items that seemed pretty good maybe another day. I usually get nice service at this location, but this visit was beyond infuriating and disappointing because of one employee who took my order. I had ordered a California Nova Lox bagel on an everything bagel and proceeded to the cashier to pay. Upon receiving my food, I realized I was given a regular Nova Lox bagel. I went back and said, "Excuse me, I'm sorry, but I had ordered a California Lox, not regular Lox." This particular employee immediately shot back at me, "No you didn't." I was stunned at this. I told him that I certainly did, and that it would have made no sense for me to order the cheaper sandwich, and then pay for the more expensive one and that I had the receipt to prove my order. He continued to argue with me, this time telling me that I was "standing on the wrong side of the line" (if you have ever been here... there is no space to even stand in anything but a single file line waiting to order, not to mention, I was at the front!). He said, "I did you a favor because I saw you had been waiting on the wrong side, you ordered a normal Nova lox, and this is how you thank me." He then continued to angrily tell me how I had lied and apparently purposely sabotaged his job as he put together my actual order. Upon finishing, he stuck the bag out and said, "Here, take it." After opening it, I saw that he had not put it on an everything bagel as I had originally ordered. Having worked in food service and retail, the first rule that we are taught is that the customer is always right, regardless if they really are or not.
