I had the pleasure of ordering from pooh. Yes that's her real name and ironically the level of service I received. Just wanted to order a frozen yogurt and asked what sizes they had. She didn't even try to hide her frustration. Then I asked about toppings and she said there were none. When I picked up my order I saw 8 plus different toppings. Incredibly horrible service! Jennifer the cashier was extremely rude. She made it a point to give me the worst looks humanly possible, for no reason at all! I was very friendly with her, so she had zero reason to act the way she did. I asked if the sandwich that I wanted in particular had onions. She told me it did, so I requested that my sandwich did not have the onion. When I got to my gate and sat down to enjoy my sandwich, low and behold, there were onions, but no red peppers! I hate to make assumptions, but I feel like this was done on purpose. I frequently fly and come through this airport a few times a year. Being from the New York area I know what a good bagel is... and when I am forced to get a bagel from the likes of Einstein I don't expect a New York bagel but I do expect atleast a freshly made bagel... as I get from my neighborhood Bruegger's regularly. Upon returning to the country at Houston international airport I was excited to see an Einstein bagels as I was craving one. How does someone who can barely understand or do a simple task get a job running the cash register in a busy airport? First of all, they close at 9pm. But they actually close at 8 because they won't sell you anything that's not in the fridge case after 8. When you're trying to catch a flight, and you assumed you'd be in and out of the shop in roughly 5 minutes, 20+ was kind of nerve-wracking. Generally, I'm a fan of Einstein's but I was really disappointed with my $10.50 egg sandwich and orange juice this morning. Ten dollars?? I paid more for the orange juice than I thought I should but did it because I *thought* it said it was fresh squeezed (Squeezed is prominently advertised on the label, making you think it's fresh squeezed). Up close, that small print preceding word actually says 'pure' squeezed with a footnote explaining it's from concentrate. I wouldn't have such a problem with this, but it's four dollars! The sandwich was ok. It wasn't heated, so none of the cheese had melted, the egg was overcooked and the bacon was soggy but I get that this isn't gourmet. Just don't charge me six dollars for a crummy breakfast sandwich when I can get eggs, croissant, hash browns and bacon across the way for 2.5 dollars more. read more

When you look up "poor customer service" in the dictionary, you'll find this place. I came at 4pm and was the only customer. I stood and waited for the employees to finish their personal conversation. I was supremely annoyed as the guy wasn't understanding my order...two bagels and plain cream cheese...purely because he was bored. Rip Off and Stale I go to Einsteins everywhere and have always loved their bagels and their service. Then I went to the one at IAH and it was awful. First, service was just idiotic. The guy at the register asked for my order (two simple bagels in a bag) four times. He seemed to have a short-term memory loss problem (maybe sad). Second, the prices are a rip-off. Normally bagels at Einsteins are 99 cents a piece...not here....they double the price by charging you for "bagels with butter" even when you don't want butter. So I ended up paying $4.00 for two bagels. Other people on the plane said this Einstein's is notorious for overcharging. Finally, these more expensive bagels were stale as well. Avoid at all (literally) costs. Oh, by the way, when you call the comment line on the receipt you get an answering machine....sigh. read more

I went to the Einstein Bros by the E terminals. This was right next to the yogen früz and in the small food court along with Panda Express. I chose this instead of Starbucks because of the long line for Starbucks. I went because the lights were on and some food was out. The women working there were really rude. I was just looking at the menu. One woman told me "Ma'am we are closed." The other one gave me a mean look and said "I told the first person that came that we were closed and everyone else heard." Well I'm sorry I didn't hear it I literally just came like a second ago. All I wanted was a cup of coffee at around 8:00am. This was absolutely overwhelming to the staff. I have been to this location twice now while waiting for flights. Neither time have there been employees who actually know what they are doing. They do not even know their menu. You have to explain to them what comes on menu items. That is if you can ever get them off their phones to take your order. Pretty busy, & right in the middle of a food court. Looks like they have good food to take to-go, when on the way to your terminal. I was going to get a bagel, but I couldn't make up my mind in time, & there were some people in front of me. Since a space opened at another food vender counter, I got my dinner & drink there, but returned to EBB for a brownie-type frap (sweet-drink) that was advertized. I was told at the counter that they didn't have that, so I ordered a mocha instead. It was kinda tough signing for a card purchase, since there isn't any counter space. Went to the Houston Airport store and ordered a basic blueberry bagel with cream cheese. There were 3 assistants on duty and for the fifteen minutes (!!!) that I waited (and they realized that they had lost my order) I watched the poorest display of attitude and customer service that I had ever seen. If this was my store I would sack all three and start again. My bagel when it finally arrived was under toasted and covered with so much cream cheese I had to scrape some off - not that impressive for a shop all about bagels... Clearly management never reads these reviews as it is clear from other reviews that this has been an ongoing issue for quite some time. read more

My bagel with cream cheese had the most minimal amount of cream cheese possible. Some parts of my bagel didn't even have any! The workers seemed very disengaged, not greeting me when taking my order and after I had paid, the cashier didn't tell her Co workers about the order until asked. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF MY LIFE. We had a layover twice in Houston and came here. The second time was attempting to grab something quick to catch our connecting flight and to give them another chance. First time I approached I was greeted, ordered a bagel with cream cheese and a iced white mocha. She repeats my order and goes white mocha right? I said yes. I paid, tipped, and stood off to the side. I got my bagel in about 5 minutes and they forgot my coffee, again she asked me white mocha and I said yes. I finally get my coffee and its a regular mocha and she hands it to me "here's your white mocha miss". I gave up at that point and had to get to my gate. On our layover back home we had to get something quick, once again had 15 min before boarding and Starbucks had a long line. I stood there for a good 5-7 minutes and they just stared at me, didn't greet me, it looked like they were switching off cashiers. But still, say something as a common courtesy! Finally one of them says are you waiting to order? I said yes and she goes they'll take your order down there (at the other cashier for froyo) Well that would have been nice to know! AGAIN I TIPPED. I got a bagel again with cream cheese and a bottled water. Waited for about 15 minutes and people after me were getting their order including my friends, I finally walked up and they wouldn't even acknowledge me and just kept going with their conversation. I interrupted and I said I think you guys forgot my bagel and I need to catch my connecting flight. She tells her co worker and asks me again what bagel I ordered and then her co worker gets its going. She hands it to me and I asked if there was cream cheese, she said did you order it with cream cheese? I said yes politely and she rolled her eyes at me!!! Turns around and puts cream cheese on it, turns back around and hands it to me and wouldn't even look at me and just walked away. SOOOOO RUDE. Why did I give this place my money?
