I went there this morning at 6:30am and was informed that they apologize, but aren't open yet. I asked when they would be open since they open at 6am. The lady paused and then said at 6:45am. I get there might be issues, but my husband and I go to this location a lot and this has happened to us several times now in the last 6 months where we are told they aren't open or ready yet and it's after their opening hours. It's just very disappointing since this is a place we go every weekend. read more

This location, like all other Einstein's, is hit or miss. Sometimes the bagels are totally flat and squishy, sometimes they're perfect. Sometimes they've got oodles of cream cheese, sometimes it's pretty sparse. I really like that they have a drive-thru, but I will mention that it's probably about 10x faster to just get your caboose out of your car and go inside. However if you just flat out refuse to wear pants or shoes or something, the drive-thru is perfect for you! read more

The staff is super-friendly at this location. I joined the eclub and they send me coupons regularly. Today we got BOGO egg sandwiches. I had a tasty turkey sausage egg sandwich on green chile and my wife had the ham and swiss on asiago. Both were good. Tables and restrooms were clean. Food is always great however at 9am it took 15 minutes to get through the drive through. 2nd thing they offer a free drink after you buy 4 premium coffees they will give u a free one. I buy 4 larges but the free drink is a medium that is messed up. read more

Never, ever stop at this place on the way to work. YOU WILL BE LATE. I stopped at the drive through this morning. After waiting 4 and a half minutes for the car in front of me to be finished placing their order, I was told that my item (the one I just waited for for almost five minute) was gone. I ordered a muffin. I thought perhaps the car in front was ordering for a whole office, but no, her order seemed to be a small bag, a one person order. My muffin was dry and not fresh. I would never make a bad review based on one experience, this is my 4th visit and this is typical of the previous experience. At least, avoid the drive through. read more

If "bagels" is in your store's name, they had better be some rather spectacular bagels. Are Einstein Bros'. Bagels spectacular? I'm afraid to say that no, they are not. They barely compete with supermarket bagels and in our area, Smith's supermarket bagels are typically better than Einstein's bagels. The first thing you look at is What to look for before you even bite one: -Do the have attachment holes on their sides (Einstein's does), if they do then it means that they allow the bagels to touch and were torn apart. That torn spot allows air in and makes the bagel go stale quickly. The purpose of that well developed crust on the bagel is to keep the moisture inside longer so it stays fresh longer. Are they cut evenly? You should get two equal sized halved that is cut perfectly down the center. We have machines to do this now so there is no excuse. The cutting machine in this location is so poorly maintained that not only do you get to severely unequal sized halves (true across all the bagels we ordered), it don't even cut a straight line, its actually wobbles up and down I the middle of the cut. -Are they dark brown and be blistered on the surface. No this place does not serve well baked bagels, they are simply undercooked. Not as undercooked all Aliceas' which is not far away from here, but these anent seeing the searing heat that a proper bagel is supposed to have. -Is the bagel uniform isn size and shape. The ones here are mostly lopsided and vary dramatically from one bagel to the next, in the same basket. This inconsistency in size and shape is indicative that the baker doesn't care. Even hand made bagels in New York come out so close in size and shape to each other that you'd be hard pressed to spot any inconsistencies. The shape and size inconsistencies at Einstein's is rather bad, with a tiny, lumpy bagel sitting in the basket next to a huge, overblown, lopsided bagel. They can't bake anything evenly and consistently if you scale and shape them so poorly. One bagel will be over baked and one underbaked (here they are underbaked and even more underbaked) Once you bite it: -Are the crust crispy/crumchy? No, not here, which means that they are going stale rapidly and simply aren;t giving you a proper bagel texture. -Do they have a substantial yet tender interior crumb? No, once again these bagels are just soft. -Does the bagel have a good aromas and flavor, likely world hearth baked bread? These don't in fact we could not get any flavor from the crust nor crumb, which to me means they are simply mixing dough and throwing it into the oven without allowing it to develop any flavor. If you don't have a proper crust and you only have a mushy, bland interior then your selling bread and not Bagels. As for their bread, its actually better than the other bagel shop in town, and almost as god as the supermarket bagels in Smith's In a sandwich these bagels are functional. I ordered the Bagel with Lox, Cream Cheese, Onions and Capers, which actually had a decent taste, the flavor profile was right on. These was very little Lox on the sandwich, an undersized single slice for each half of the sandwich and to make it worse, they only have Atlantic Lox. Folks, listen carefully: Atlantic Lox is the official marketing term for farm raised GMO salmon. This stuff barely has any nutrition in in because they are penned in tightly in overcrowded tank-like enclosures and they are fed meal that barely keeps them alive (and gives us low nutrition). I know that Pacific Lox is expensive, but its only a little more than Atlantic GMO Lox. I'd prefer to pay 5 cents extra a sandwich to get an all Natural Pacific Lox, that has all the good health benefits. (Atlantic Lox is dyed pick because there is so little nutrition in it that its actually mostly white in color, which consumers did not buy so its now chemicals dyed so that consumers won't notice the difference, but if you look at it then look at Pacific Lox, you'll see that Atlantic has a washed out sickly looking pink tinge to it. The shop itself is nice. There is plenty seating and it looks open and spacious so its a comfortable spot. I give them extra kudos for having free WiFi which I really appreciate. On the other hand. The kitchen area is a mess, the scoops and spreaders are covered with product which looks yucky, the kitchen floor is swept but they left all the garbage piled up in the center of the floor, which is uncalled for and looks dirty (plus I'm concerned that an employee will slip and fall on that pile of junk). This essentially is a very nice looking place whose offerings are essentially the fast food of the bagel world. Its not the worst bagel in town, but its beat out by Smith's supermarket bagels. read more

Just looked at receipt after carry-out order for coffee and bagels.... asked for almond milk in my and husband's coffees ..looking at receipt they charged .80 extra for each coffee!!!!!! unbelievable! Called to see if maybe someone screwed up and overcharged me or something, was told this was correct, if you want anything other than the 2%milk you get charged extra....almost a dollar!!! this is rediculous!, Starbucks doesn't even charge extra for this, they should at least warn people when you order it! I love Einstein's with the exception of this one, unfortunately. When we go inside everything comes out right. But, every time we go through the drive trough my bagels, cranberry & French toast, taste like garlic it's horrible What's the deal?!?! It's never the same twice. Bagels burned or not toasted, barely any smear. Not really sure if the drive through should be filling orders, maybe some quality control would help. On a Saturday morning after a long week at work the last thing I felt like doing this morning was cooking. I loaded the kids in the car and headed out to get some bagels as a Saturday treat. New Mexican to the core we all ordered green Chile bagels and were unfortunately given the disapointing news that they had sold out, moving in logical order we went jalapeno and got the same answer, and as we stripped away our personalization and went for a plain bagel we once again received the same news. I was truly befudled that a place that sells bagels was quickly dwindling down to a place for coffee and nothing more. We finally landed on different and very disapointing alternatives, only to be stuck waiting for almost 30 minutes for our order. (If they still had to make them then why not give me what I wanted?) Needless to say the next time I get a craving for a bagel I know it will be a safer bet to go elsewhere. read more

I love Einstein Bagels but this location just cannot seem to get their act together. The lady that helped me couldn't seem to figure out how to run a credit card and after she accidentally selected cash as my payment method, she turns to me and says, "you've got cash right?". I was very excited when I found out they were opening an EBB close to where I live. I'm not a regular per say but if I crave their hazelnut coffee it's nice not having to drive across town for it. Food is tasty. The bagels are always good. The problem is that it takes a long time to get through the drive-thru. 15/20 minutes every time. Also they're almost always out of at least one variety of the bagels I want in my bakers dozen. I can understand to some degree but every time?The worst part is that they tell you they're out at the window after you've paid. If I was told at the ordering speaker I can look at the menu and decide on a replacement. At the window I'm like um... They need a new system to keep track of inventory real time. read more

For the eighth time I was given only 12 bagels when I ordered a baker's dozen (which is 13). I complained once before and there is no improvement. Why is it that all of your ABQ NM locations charge for butter on bagels yet there is no listing of butter where all the other sides are. IE PEANUT BUTTER CREAM CHEESE and various other toppings. This makes no sense. Where do you go anywhere in America where you order toast and get charged for butter on a biscuit and get charged for butter on pancakes and get charged for butter on waffles and so on and so forth. This is insane that we get charged for butter and yet it is not posted up on the wall next to all the other sides. It's because it makes no sense at all. It is dishonest and underhanded. If it was above the board practice it would be listed along with all the other sides that you get charged for. No one thinks that they're going to get charged butter on the bread item that they order. So how many millions of transactions a day go unnoticed for the charge of butter. Because you assume that butter goes with bagel or biscuit or pancake or tortilla or waffle free of charge. This place is terrible. We live within walking distance and started going here when it first opened, attributing the awful service to the fact that this place was new.... but the service several years later continues to remain the same. The drive thru wait despite not having any cars in front of us and only a few patrons in the building has been upwards of 10-15 minutes for 2 coffees and 2 bagels! Inside the store I wouldn't expect a smile, promptness, or to find any of the coffee supplies stocked. We sometimes choose to drive to other locations that are out of our way, just to get better service. read more

i went to einstein bros bagels rio rancho 1/14/17 wait at least 15 minutes in the drive up , then i ordered my bagels and a caramel macchiato and waited at the window ,the young man gives me the bagels and says they are having trouble with their machine for the drink if i could pull forward and someone will bring it right out. i wait and i wait and then i leave as i can not get down because i have problems with my legs and the drive up line is way to long to wait, so i drive home and call . this is not what i expected and i am a very good customer,but i won't be driving that far again to get that treatment. read more
