I was spoiled to be so close to this spot while I was staying in town. I'm an absolute sucker for a good bakery and I was immediately intrigued by the variety of sourdough-based goodies Knead had to offer. It took all my strength to not buy one of everything but I selected on four picks for my first of two visits, as well as a bag of their sourdough shortbread that I just finished today and am already missing. I was also given a taster of their apple crisp with my first order, which was very delicious and will be a great addition to any holiday meal. The maple glazed doughnut was soft, a perfect classic. The cranberry ginger jam was delicious and punchy, but could have used a little something on the actual doughnut to balance out how strong it was. I enjoyed both kolaches; the everything seasoning one is well reminiscent of the classic bagel and schmear with its cream cheese center, and the three cheese bacon had good sized strips of bacon baked in. Perhaps my favorite was my take home item from the next day, their cinnamon roll. I warmed it up a little, not that it needed it. Pillowy soft with a delicious frosting. I also miss that already too. I really appreciate that you can also pick up local eggs and milk from this spot with Fed From The Farm. As you can see, it was very busy around 9am when I came in Saturday morning, but the line moves quickly and there's space in the back to wait for your order. Top notch everything! From the ambiance to the service, the quality and taste of the food, this sweet little bake house is stellar! The interior is light and airy and they make good use of the space. Ordering in one room and places to eat and another (there's also outside seating with cute umbrellas, but it was too hot outside so we opted to stay inside). The person taking our order at the counter was kind and answered all of our questions. There were several pastries on display and all looked heavenly. I ordered a spiced pear grilled cheese with turkey.... It was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Like EVER! So fresh and flavorful, and the sourdough was fluffy and amazing. We all shared an Apple fritter too which was a great call. Sweet, fluffy, and just the right amount of spice. I visited Knead on a total whim - they've been on my list for a while, and I just so happened to be driving by in the morning! My Ham Breakfast Sandwich was DIVINE. You can tell they source only the best ingredients and have truly honed the craft of bread. The sandwich was nothing crazy or out of the ordinary, but it didn't have to be with such high quality ingredients. Also, they get major props for not charging extra for oat milk. The staff were super friendly, and I was served very fast - they give you a number to take to your table. The space is very bright, airy, and modern. YUM. I have been wanting to try this spot for a while after it was recommended by a friend and wow are the treats incredible! The coffee was a little overpriced for an iced coffee, but the orange cardamom syrup was delightful. The staff made this spot feel unbelievably welcoming. Everything was tasty and the drinks were delicious. Bread was great, of course! Decor is all grain themed and there are gold accents through the place. Very nice! Lots of seating inside and a few outside. Table seemed to turn quickly, but since there's always people coming in, the tables never seem to get a good chance to get wiped down. An absolutely amazing spot! Off the main road you will first see the Knead truck indicating you are in the right place. We were greeted upon entry and the staff were clearly passionate and knowledgeable about their offerings. Everything is made in house and is sour dough-based. They work with other local vendors for ingredients and have a small store on the side with other items such as their jarred apple butter. The options for baked goods are plentiful and I knew once we stepped in that we'd be coming back in the future. We ordered the bacon egg and cheese sandwiches which were on their fresh brioche buns with local eggs, bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and aioli. Hands down the best breakfast sandwich that I've had in the STL area so far! We were between the cinnamon roll and the Nutella croissant but was told the cinnamon roll is a best seller. The cinnamon roll had a tanginess from the sourdough which made for an amazing taste. Not too "doughy" as cinnamon rolls often are -- it had a nice volume and fluffiness. The coffee is from a local roaster and is a necessary buy! I'm always happy when a shop is offering something local other than the dominant Kaldis! They newly opened a beautiful cafe spot allowing for you to sit and enjoy your treats. After our experience we texted our friends that day to make the trip! Grateful for local good eats! read more

I must admit, I missed out on the full experience because I was just grabbing a coffee and doing some sunday morning journaling. Nonetheless, the place is wonderful. Their breakfast sandwiches look immaculate. And, they were churning out sourdough. I made the mistake of not getting a cinnamon roll, perhaps next weekend. The workers were all kind and got food/drinks out quickly. There isn't indoor seating, but it was the perfect day for a seat on their patio. Lots of folks out enjoying a sunday coffee. Knead never fails to impress me on new and innovative desserts/baked goods. I visit every week to get my sourdough loaf (which is always extremely fresh, you can tell by the taste). For the month of july I noticed they had an Italian theme for their baked items, so I ordered the hazelnut choco cream bun and cannoli cheesecake bar. Both desserts were phenomenal, out of this world, magnificent. Their creams and fillings are ridiculously fresh. I'm sad to know these will be gone next month, but knowing the masterminds who make these treats, I won't be disappointed with the next dessert roster. Took advantage of a day off work to check out Knead! Sooo glad I finally did. The shop itself is in a little shopping center/strip mall, it was the only local place in the center. It seems better suited to a less commercial area (would LOVE it in CWE, TG or Grove) but totally get the rent in those places is atrocious. Anyway, there are 2-chair tables out front you can eat at if you aren't doing carry out. I was glad because we wanted to dig in right away. We got a bunch of treats and some breakfast sandwiches. Everything was absolutely delicious. You definitely have to enjoy sourdough - which we do - because it all had that defined sourdough taste, but not TOO sour. We make sourdough at home and it's really hard to get that balance along with the right texture/density. The brioche was light and fluffy. The french toast was to die for, and I don't even like the flavor they had (tiramisu, I tried the non-coffee parts of it) but I will definitely be back when they have a new flavor. Heard about Knead from a friend recently and tried it this morning since I'm always in the market for a new sourdough! The shop is SO cute and fun and they offer lots of random things for sale, in addition to baked goods. The employees were very helpful and gave great suggestions whenever I asked. It was also pretty quick! I got a loaf of sourdough, a three cheese and bacon kolache and a blueberry lemon donut. The three cheese/bacon kolache was one of the best things I have ever eaten, hands down. The blueberry lemon donut was also amazing, and I'm typically a savory girl! I tried the sourdough when I got home and it is perfect - not too dense, which is a common issue! I will be back, SOON, to try the sandwiches and other menu items! If you haven't been yet, go!!! I often find myself indulging in as many pastries as possible because they have a rotating menu of seasonal items. It keeps me coming back for more that is for sure. Everything I have here has been nothing less of delicious. They also recently opened up an indoor dining room which has added quite a bit of seating! We loved the goodies we picked up from Knead so much! For starters, the space is very inviting with natural light flooding through the big windows and a clean design for the case. The staff warmly greeted us upon our entry and we had fun picking out three treats for our road trip. Generally overpriced, and gimmicky menu items. They put sourdough in the name and mark it up 5 bucks like it's some sort of novelty, the menu items are occasionally good but they switch up their items so much that you can never have a consistent experience. At the price point it is at I would not recommend. Maybe if they had some more regular items on their menu the experience would be better, but the only good thing that I would actually recommend getting was the lox salmon bagel, probably the best lox bagel I've ever had, unfortunately it was only a monthly special, so unlikely that you'll have it when you go, service is not great, they often have forgotten an item that we ordered every time we have gone. Ambience is okay, the ACT ceiling has got to go, but otherwise no complaints read more

This bakery is worth a visit! I came for the sourdough starter which I am excited to use! It's unique that they sell their starter as not many bakeries are as generous. We also tried the chocolate chip cookie which was delicious. It had dark chocolate chunks which paired perfectly with the sea salt on top. It was soft and chewy which is just how I like my cookies. The chocolate cake was good as well but I preferred the cookie. I definitely got a hint of sourdough flavor in the cake. Tried the special of the day-Pastrami Breakfast Sandwich, the Three Cheese Bacon Sourdough Kolache and Seasoned Potato Wedges. Grabbed 2 coffees while we waited for the to-go order, employees were super helpful and nice. Food was so delicious, not that we were surprised, mad we waited so long to come here again.
