Fried salami Salami Egg and Cheese
    Melissa J.

Started my Saturday morning off with a fresh bagel sandwich from Lefty's. I saw the fried salami on the menu and it took me back to my childhood days of enjoying this for breakfast. I immediately ordered it on a blueberry bagel for the sweet and savory mix. Suggested by the staff. It was hot, fresh, savory, sweet and full of deliciousness! What a nice walk down memory lane. Go give them a try if you are in the area. Plenty of parking - you can dine in or take it to go.

I love this place. The bagels are fresh-baked and so good. My favorites are the onion, bagel and pumpernickel. The flavored cream cheese tastes fresh, and it is so full of flavor. The garlic & herb is my favorite. There is plenty of parking in a private lot. You order at the counter and they have a small dining area. They can get quite busy on the weekends so there may be a bit of a wait Service was friendly and helpful.

Still looking for a great bagel in STL. Found another good, while they are quick to admit it is not a NY bagel (large, airy, while being chewy with the slightest tooth on the crust) not great bagel. I'm not sure the Lefty's bagel is boiled before baking. Tried an everything bagel and plain. First deduction, both placed on top of each other in the bag. Most shops separate via different bag or tissue wrap the everything bagels from the others. While larger than the place that went out of business in Creve Coeur the everything bagel while generally coated was meh. I will give them another try and maybe get a sandwich but unless they are on your normal route it is not worth the drive.

Long review somewhere in here but since I moved to Creve Coeur, I've been here more often and I wanted to update to add: do not snooze on the Soup of the Day! The staff recommended the Lemon Orzo (not on the menu today so review pending) and today's offering: Brisket Chili. And oh myyyyyyy what a great rec! This chili is everything you could want....chunks of brisket in a smoky base that is not overly spicy but you know, going to wake up your tastebuds in the best possible way. Go. Get some chili. Or a chewy delicious bagel. Just go to Lefty's. You can't go wrong. It's just so good!

The Classic Egg Sammy - add bacon and Scallion Schmear
    Mariel T.

I'm a bit of a bagel connoisseur at this point, and lefty's did their carbs justice. I got the egg Sammy, add bacon and scallion cream cheese, and it ended up being 50 cents cheaper than the BEC (where the options force you to have a slice of cheese on it- some people love that, but I prefer to sub). Had to knock a star for the skimpy cream cheese (if I'm paying extra for that, it should be at least visible) and the sorta sad egg, HOWEVER this bagel is how bagels should be done. When I'm in town, this will be in my rotation.

Growing up with delicious New York style bagels moving to Missouri. It's been sad that I haven't been able to find that impeccable staple... that was until I discovered Lefty's bagels! This place is everything you would ever want with fresh bagels made the right way all of the Schmear's and deli fixings! Walking in, I was transported back to the streets of New York and the great bagel deli's! They do it so well it's become part of my morning breakfast routine when I'm in town!

I love this place however I would never ordered via Yep App ever again...when I placed my order I specified no onion, as you can see on the printed receipt, there were grilled onions in my sandwich. My order update status stated that my order stated would be ready between 734am-754am, but my order was ready 20 minutes earlier than the app stated, so that time I was waiting on my order it was already up and ready but I didn't know that because I never ordered through the Yep/GrubHub app and I probably would never do it again!

Turkey Club Med as it comes. Delish!
    Jennifer C.

Support Local! I've been looking for a lunch that makes me feel happy and I finally found it! Located about 6min from my office, this gem offers Breakfast and Lunch sandwiches. Today's first visit, I opted for the Turkey Club Med, just as it comes, no changes, plain bagel with a medium toast. Potato Salad as the side. The turkey is stacked!!! (See photo) I was so amazed by how much meat was on the sandwich and it was dressed well with bacon, cheese, mayo, lettuce and tomato. Great flavor in the turkey, not dry. The potato salad had an even balance of mayo, mustard and sweet dill. Very enjoyable. The staff was friendly and it maybe took 6 min to receive my order. Very fast. This will become a staple for lunch!

So happy. We are new to Missouri and I have yet to find a really good Bagel Shop. Well , thank the higher powers that I found Lefty's. The bagels and really good. Like really good. The egg sandwich was delish. The counter person recommended the Garlic and Herb smear , so so so happy. The smear was really good. The store was super cute. Minimal but cute. Open kitchen concept , which I love. So clean as well. Everyone who worked there was beyond friendly as well. I saw, maybe the manager, by the pick up counter, talking to everyone being super friendly. I felt very comfortable there. I'm ecstatic that I found my new breakfast spot. Sometimes u just want a BEC and now I can find one.

    Bacon, Egg & Cheese
    Shelby R.

Not bad but not particularly great. I got bacon, egg, & cheese on a plain bagel & it was good, just needed some salt & pepper. The bagel was the perfect texture. We also got a raspberry bagel with blueberry schmear. It didn't taste too much like raspberry or blueberry honestly, more like a plain bagel & cream cheese. The service was fast on a busy Saturday morning. Get there early, it seems like a popular spot & they can run out of flavors!

We walked inside and saw there was a line of 2-3 people ahead of us. We saw a man to the side who injected himself since he was waiting on a drink and we saw that he was forgotten and no one had made his drink. He was nice about it but I could tell he was upset. There were two cashiers and when it was finally our turn based off our receipt Kenzie D took our order. We ordered peanut butter smoothie, an americano, a cinnamon scone and pumpkin bread. Any sort of customer service went out the window. There was no greeting, no eye contact, no acknowledgment of him finishing inputting an item down to get the next one. I say this because I asked for pumpkin bread and it was forgotten. I didn't even want it after seeing how long it took others to get their order. You would think that you would get your order right after the person in front of you orders but no, two people from groups that ordered after us received their order and we were left there standing waiting for 10-15 minutes. We thought that was the worst of it... We went outside to sit with the in-laws and friends and they were like "that took awhile..." and I told them there was only 3 people ahead of us and that's when they told us what happened to them. My mother in law ordered a drink and so did my father in law. My father in law received his drink and was waiting for a really long time for my mother in laws. So long that he spoke to one of the women passing out orders to check to see if it was done yet. She told him he would need to get in line and order it since they didn't receive it. There was a line and he already waited and didn't want to get back in line so he spoke to the manager and the manager said he heard the exchange and didn't say anything to make it right. So my father in law was like forget it and it just went outside to sit with the rest of the group. The manager came out and gave a disgusted look and gave my mother in law a drink. Then friends also confirmed that he was not nice at all when he came out and probably did it out of spite. I saw she had finished it and gasped because knowing the food industry he probably spit in that drink. Needless to say none of us will be going back to this place. There is no such thing as hospitality here or making things right. And I found out that the cashier that rang us out was the manager? Smh... As much as food or drinks can taste good, not having taste in your service can affect the experience so much so it can't rectify what's been done. Couldn't eat the scone after two bites and the peanut butter smoothie was melty with chunks of banana. I'll stick to supporting pj's and smoothie king.

The man behind the window was very friendly and thanked me, but when I went back to ask for a fork, the woman behind the window seemed irritated that I bothered her for a fork. I'm not sure what this place even is, despite having dined there yesterday. It serves breakfast,…read morelunch and dinner, and doesn't seem to specialize in anything in particular. It's in a weirdly large building that looks like a place where you'd go to get lasik surgery. I visited after a run on a day where the heat index was like 109, so I didn't spend that much time inside, just enough to drip sweat all over the front counter and the floor in the vestibule. We sat outside in an area that seems like the place where you'd pull up and unload your luggage at a hotel. A member of our group says she once attended some sort of Xmas pop-up in the basement here where you were charged a cover and then expected to pay for drinks and pizza, so... uh, caveat emptor. We ordered at the little bar up front, but I'm not sure if that's also the case if you dine inside. These places always flip out when there's umpteen different people ordering separately, because they only have but so many of those numbers you set on the table so they know where to bring your food. It ended up not being an issue with us, because who else was going to engage in al fresco dining during a heat advisory? This place serves pizza, but it didn't look that good in the few photos I saw. Granted, food often looks like crap in Yelp photos. Also, there's an emphasis on '90s-style health food, organic ingredients and what have you. There's a Salmon BLT that's featured prominently that seemed like it might be the thing to get, but I didn't know enough about this place to be ordering fish, and I'd already been meaning to eat a bacon cheeseburger for the past several days. Maybe next time. There is no bacon cheeseburger as a separate menu item unto itself. I figured I might just order a cheeseburger and add bacon, but I'm not sure if that's an option, and this wasn't a regular cheeseburger. It had a few different weird cheeses on it, spinach and maybe some other things. Then I saw the Dill-bert, which seemed like it might be really good. It has, among other things, dill Havarti cheese (whatever that is), avocado, and of course, bacon. It's served on a wheat bun, which, whatever. Its name is not a tribute to Scott Adams, as far as I know, but this is Ballwin. The Dill-bert did not disappoint. No Diddy. The beef comes from one of those special farms where the cows are all given names as if they were human beings, groomed on a daily basis by trafficking victims and read bedtime stories, and you really can taste the difference. It's a better quality meat. It's also expertly prepared. It's well-seasoned and cooked until it develops a nice char on the exterior. It was a bit more done on the inside than I require, but that may have been unavoidable. For a side, there was an option of tater tots cooked in an air fryer, like if your mom was feeling lazy. I didn't see any french fries, but maybe I'm going blind. I ordered a side salad, which is my thing these days. Sometimes they're surprisingly good, and a french fry is a french fry, unless you're at McDonald's. This one was pretty good, but it was definitely on the health-food side of things--very fresh and lightly but sufficiently dressed with something citrus-y and not too oily. Oh, and I was duped into purchasing a whiskey sour slushie. It just seemed like it would be so refreshing. It must have cost nearly as much as my meal, given what my bill came out to. They must think I'm a sucker. Did they receive advance notice of my visit? It did kinda hit the spot, and I probably got drunker than I would have otherwise, because I was suffering from a minor heatstroke, so there was that.

Thankfully, they had all hands on deck so there was minimal time spent waiting. The woman who took my order was kind and patient as I struggled to select which kind of bread I wanted from their plethora of options. Although I came in undecided between a sandwich and one of their pastries, I opted for the former and a chocolate chip cookie. After waiting all of five minutes, my name was called and I was on my way. While the presentation of the sandwich wasn't the most appealing it def made up for it in taste. The egg was whole but cooked to perfection. Although I asked for cheddar, I was given white cheddar instead, which I was surprised because this was not told to me when I ordered. The sandwich was good, but I'll need to choose a different bread next time since it was quite mushy. The cookie was good and something I'd compare to tollhouse. It was incredibly soft but again, I was thrown off by the semisweet, almost dark chocolate chips. Nevertheless, it was still good and I'd get it again. Overall, this place reminds me of a Des Peres version of La Bonne Bouche. It's got ample seating, tons of pastries, and other cafe items. I'll def return.
